Casual chain eatery offering an American buffet with carving stations, fresh-baked bread & more.
I use to love this place. My kids favorite time to go use to be for breakfast. I went last week and I noticed a huge decline in the quality and flavor of the food. Mostly everything we tried was either cold or tasted like it was old.
This place is amazing. Alot of great food on the buffet tables. Something for everyone! Our waitress was fantastic!!
We went on sunday evening.. 10-24 The place was clean.. the steaks were great.. hell the food was great lol there were a few filler items at the buffet that couldnt be identified and were scary looking we didnt try them.. the wait staff were not happy campers but it was busy so we left a decent tip.. maybe they were just having a bad day.. I think we will try the other location next time..
Great buffet. Everything was so fresh and yummy! Server was attentive.
Decent buffet with a good variety of food for people who are gluten free or have other dietary restrictions.
I love buffets and I try them all. We were in town for a few days and tried Wood Grill. We were very impressed! The service was very good but the food was fantastic. What a great selection! It reminded me of Golden Corral, but better. All the food was fresh and hot and tasty! We loved every bite. One suggestion: The baked potatoes were huge - offer some that arent so big, alongside the giant ones. (I could only finish half). Also, dont be afraid to charge a little more - your prices are extremely low!
The only bad thing I can say about this place is the tables are kinda crammed in and its pretty annoying to have to move while eating just for someone to walk by but it is a buffet so cant complain too much I guess. Awesome food for sure.
Had a wonderful lunch. Servers were very friendly and helpful. Everything was nice and clean, gloves and hand sanitizer provided.
The fried shrimp were good but the chicken livers must have been taken from the bottom of the barrel. They were not fresh, not soft, and very dry. I was quite disappointed.
We arrived at 3:30 the hostess was more worried with her personal phone call then to greet us when she did seat us she put us at a dirty table when we asked to be moved we got attitude. Our server Tina was great and the food was mediocre but we are willing to try it again could have been a bad day
Food was really good the wait staff was excellent and the prices are Unbeatable.Make sure youre hungry if you come here As they have a lot of food to eat!
The food was excellent. My family choose this place everytime we visited Virginia. The service person who waited on us was excellent
Best buffet youll ever go to other than a seafood buffet. So many options and everything is cooked great and well seasoned. Love this place!
Everything was fresh, and plentiful. There is such a large selection, youve got to find something delicious to enjoy. For me it was the mussels in cream sauce, shrimp, ribs and a variety of vegetables. Servers were all pleasant.
The food was awful I wouldnt feed this nasty stuff to a dying man! The food tasted like worse then week old bread! The one in Piegon Forge it not any better! This use to be agood place to eat! WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?
This place was AWESOME! From the fried chicken to the collard greens everything was seasoned perfectly. Gloves were required while handling any food serving utensils. Staff were stationed next to each buffet season. I couldn’t have been happier with my dining experience.
My wife and I enjoy stopping by the Wood Grill occasionally. Unlike a typical buffet, the food moves quickly so it is generally hot and the variety of the offerings is very good. The staff is very pleasant and capable without an attitude. Some folks dont tip at buffets but they deserve a shout-out and a decent tip for the effort that they show.
Great place and the food is good , our waiter was great , thank you ISIs G
The food is good for the reasonable price. Drinks were amazing. A lot of food options. Waiter would come and always refill our drinks!
Honestly a very good buffet! Joe the waiter took care of a large group, 18 with great efficiency! Everything was flavorful. Seated the group of 18 in about 10 min on a Sunday, impressive!
I’ve been to Harrisonburg a few times and never knew this buffet existed. I love a good buffet so I was willing to give it a try. Plenty of parking on both sides of the restaurant. Very clean inside. No wait, we were brought to a table immediately even though it was busy. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. The food was ok. Huge selection of everything you could think of that would be at a buffet. A few surprises I didn’t expect. Meatballs, chicken and meatloaf were very good. Chicken enchiladas were also good but a little dry. A few things were disappointing. Nice selection of desserts. The ice cream bar with toppings is always a winner. I was told there was a chocolate fountain but it was removed. Thanks Covid. Overall it’s a good value for what you are getting. I would like to try their breakfast buffet and give them another chance.
Many, Many, Many Choices Of Great Tasting Food! Was there for a birthday celebration, we had a separate room. Everything went well.Husband & I both said , "we need one of these restaurants in Richmond."
Family loves it. Better than Golden CorralWent while on vacation in the area and liked it so much, we came back. Service was excellent, great variety, friendly staff, good prices ($14 during week $17 weekend). Great selection of southern style food. Place is clean and very busy. Joe, our waiter was excellent.
I hadn’t been here in years and decided to with my partner one day while out running early errands. We got there maybe 15 minutes after opening so things were a bit slow (understandable it was early and nobody likes working that earlyand our waitress was amazing but somehow the food was already cold and the rolls were already hardened? And it was kinda just dirty in general. Not as bad as golden coral but still not the best but what do you expect from a buffet restaurant lol
I love eating here! The servers are typically super friendly and attentive. The food is delicious. Im not usually onento visit buffets but I always make sure to stop in when Im visiting Massanutten Resort.
This is an incredible buffet. We were meeting family traveling from PA and we drove from Roanoke to meet half way and chose this place as a buffet. There were so many wonderful food choices, everyone was happy: even our picky eater. Our server was very attentivel to clearing our plates and refilling drinks. We plan to drive up there again even though it is 140 miles one way.
Great prices, services and food. Highly recommend
First time eating here, and I was super impressed with the food selection and preparation. All food was hot and fresh and delicious! Will definitely go back again. Very reasonable price too!!! 5/5 for my review!
Was traveling through the area on Fathers day and stopped for dinner here. Was pleasantly surprised. It has an open buffet of considerable size with lots of salad, meat and fixings choice. Desserts too with pies, cakes, ice cream and toppings and puddings. There were seven of us and everyone was very satisfied. Price was quite reasonable for the variety and quality. Will definitely stop here the next time we are cruising up and down I-81.
Great all you can eat buffet on the weekends for $17.00. Sooo much food and everything that I had was delicious. Green beans, brocolli, collard greens, corn, mac & cheese, mashed potatoes & gravy with meatballs, baked & fried fish, rolls, chocolate cake, pecan pie and ice tea. There is plenty more to choose from. We went here while on vacation. I would definitely go back again. Our server Joe was great. He kept refilling our drinks and clearing the dishes from the table. I wish there was one of these restaurants where I live.
Plenty of options especially since I am gluten free. Steak and pot roast were really good. Really liked the French green beans and the squash.
This was my first visit since they reopened after the whole Covid pandemic. It was exactly how I remembered it and hoped it would be again! It is almost IMPOSSIBLE for me to eat a little bit of everything I love here. Unbelievable variety of hot items. The fried catfish and collared greens are out of this world. Mussels, steaks, and a dessert display that rivals any restaurant/buffet. An absolute MUST for anyone visiting the Harrisonburg area looking for some food. Wow!!!
Stayed in Harrisonburg for work and went to Wood Grill. The food was fantastic. Staff didnt seem very personable but it was also dinner rush, so they may have been a bit overwhelmed. Overall, it is good food for a good price.
No wait at all, was immediately greeted an seated. Server was nice and prompt, as well as conversational. Food was great, always something to choose from. All of it was fresh and delicious as well. I just didnt like spending $75 for 3 is all
It’s better than Golden Corral they definitely have some good foods. It was my first time visiting and I’d go back for another meal for sure. Bathrooms needed some attention, empty soap containers and toilet paper on the floor. Overall good experience.
Too much food. Not quality. I only had some lettuce with salad dressing. But it is a lot better than other open buffet restaurants. I dont prefer them but I had to go with some friends
The wait was to be expected on a Saturday. Everything was great though. Server was absolutely sweet, professional, prompt, and social. Food selection was top notch, and absolutely fresh. I love every time I go to this Woodgrill
Wood grill is always great. The place is very clean, the waiters or waitresses you get are always polite and friendly. We love going, the only reason for 4 stars is the fact they havent put back the chocolate fountain. Since covid hit, they took it out and I guess got lazy or figure the heck with it and never put it back.
Food was as always, very good and wide of varieties! The server, although you help yourself to the buffets, was terrible about refilling drinks and such? We had a large group there as a family for my sons college graduation and considering the possible tip the young lady was in line for, she could have done a much better job with our service. Still tipped her ,but was not pleased.
My first visit to wood grill was a week ago and I was pleasantly surprised. Everything I tried tasted hot and fresh and better than most buffets I’ve been to. They have a little bit of something for everybody. The steaks were pretty good to be at a buffet. Everything is pretty flavorful too, I’ll definitely be coming back.
I dont know where to begin with this review. Since Google keeps asking for one I will give in.The two of us walked in and it wasnt a very busy day. After being sat and the server taking our drink orders I went to the restroom. It was completely demolished with toilet paper and trash everywhere and the stench of urine. I washed my hands and left to build my plate. They require you to wear gloves when getting your food from the buffet which is a great thing, if people followed the directions and it was enforced. Our server was amazing. She removed finished plates and kept our drinks fresh. No complaints there. After eating I noticed a little later that myself and friend were both very swollen. I began to investigate this by looking through their ingredients and recipes. I find they use a seasoning in everything called "Gold Dust". It is a proprietary blend for their chain. Its basically nothing but sodium. Monosodium Glutamate (MSGto be exact. This along with Salt and other seasonings. I have serious kidney problems and so does the person I was eating with. The majority of their patrons are above 70 and this is terrible for their health issues as well. This needs to be posted on the buffet so people can be aware.Hope this review helps.
Three of us ate at Wood Grill Buffet in Harrisonburg, VA on 3/25/22. It was as good as we remember from previous visits through the years. The food was hot and the selection was amazing. All of our visits have been during lunch time until this one. Obviously, most buffets are more expensive in the evening and even more expensive on the weekend. The cuts of meat offered as steak that evening were not the best, but there was plenty of great food to eat and be well satisfied.
Excellent place to eat, great selection and our waitress was fantastic
Best buffet I have ever gone to! Wait staff is helpful and great!
We had such a good brunch at Wood Grill Buffet. Months later we had a conversation about our visit. The next time we are in the area. We will enjoy a meal at Wood Grill Buffet.Their Brunch was amazing! We highly recommend this place.5 stars !!
Crazy busy! 2 adults and 1 child about $50 including the tip. Amazing buffet but not the cleanest place Ive ever eaten. Only major downside was the plates, are almost untouchable, because they are so hot.Waitress was nice though and the wait wasnt bad, about 15 minutes on a Sunday afternoon.
.......A lot of food. However, this is an excellent show case of why America is fat because of this buffet. Give or take 14 bucks for all you can eat. They got a whole fried section, a whole butter tub, desert, and a salad bar. When you sit down the sever will ask if you want a baked potato or sweet potato. We should have said no because it was too much. Service was meh considering the major thing they do is make sure your drink is full and clear off your plate.
I was glad we found this place on our way to North Carolina. I liked the vast variety of food. I found several salads that are different from the regular. Great steak like in Longhorn but you can get 4 time more for just 13 dollars per person. Various desserts, chocolate fountain with tasteful chocolate. If they open earlier, I’m sure we get back for breakfast but, unfortunately, we have to move early morning. Thank you guys for great dinner!
Hands down, the best buffet Ive ever been to. I love Golden Corral, but they cant touch this place. I was very impressed with the food selection, taste and quality of it all.
Selection, organization and cleanliness is on point! Service was a tad slow for a buffet server, but it was Easter Sunday, so it was a packed house! When I say packed house for this place, that means the venue seats AT LEAST 250 people. The silverware was polished and plates were heated for hot food buffet items and plates were chilled for cold food items, little touches like that mean a lot to a restaurant manager. The buffet had everything to be desired, from fried chicken and other Southern favorites like sweet potato souffle w marshmallows to Asian inspired dishes, like sweet and sour chicken and stir fry and a TON of veggies on the salad bar to make the perfect salad! Pro tip: Go around 11 am and they switch from a breakfast buffet (yummmm, Eggs Benedict, bacon, cheesy hash browns...to the lunch buffet at 11:30, so you get a little of everything you love! And clean bathrooms! Whaaat?!? I would go back in a heartbeat!
