Wingstop in Ames

First wingstop experience. Got large basket with garlic parmesean and original hot with fries and Blue cheese dip. Wings were light on meat and overcooked. Garlic parmesean was good but original hot was bland. Took a solid 20 minutes for my order to be filled. Staff was polite and place was clean.

Ordered online, website took my money and never placed an order, called the store to see if it did go through, it didn’t and the woman on the phone couldn’t do anything to help me. I called the corporate help line and they basically said ‘sorry this happened i’ll talk to my boss’. The wings aren’t even good, don’t go here

Quick service. Everybodys working when I come in, which is always awesome to see that nobodys getting slept on their orders. And absolutely just overall friendly service. Probably a reason Ive been coming back lol

Overall not bad, have messed orders in past but problems were resolved fast and easily.

I’ve moved around a lot my whole life and favorite restaurant has always been wingstop. I went to this wingstop twice and both times the food was poorly made. The building is also disgusting to be in. I thought the first time was just a fluke but it’s crazy how they managed to make it a worse experience the second. Look at this original hot boneless wing order

First time for us it was okBut not what we were expecting.

Very horrible service. Ordered through door dash, order was messed up, called to see what to do was told to come in and hung up on. Called while on the way to replace my order. Got there and things were beyond crazy. No one had their food. The shift “supervisor” who hung up on me was overheard by all customers screaming in the back on the phone yelling and CUSSING about not having fries! A customer walked out saying “ugh forget it! Give my money to someone else” after being refused a refund cause their order wasn’t right either. I witnessed a few other customers upset about the wait and the mess up on orders. I was refused the name of the employee who was rude and super unprofessional and a number to call about a possible refund. The response I got was “look online” One and half hrs later my food was ready! Three hrs since ordering food on door dash I was able to eat!People who know me know I order wingstop twice a week. I understand they were busy and mistakes happen. However, I have never been so rudely spoken to and never had as bad of service as this.

They need to improve , on service and flavor , compared to another places i have been

I HATE posting negative reviews but I did not enjoy my lunch at this restaurant. First of all I couldn’t understand the order taker because he was so soft spoken. Secondly, the restaurant was freezing. Water was dripping from the vents and they had wet floors just lying down sideways on the ground. Thirdly, we had considered eating in the car because it was so cold but we waited so long. Finally, good food is worth the wait but I’m sorry the food was nasty. The boneless wings were sitting in a pool of oil and the breading was so thick it hurt the roof of my mouth. Even though we walked in hungry we didn’t finish our meals. The only nice thing is even though they messed up my order and gave me the wrong side they at least made it right right away.

It was the end of the night, but the wings we received in our visit were dry with little sauce, small in size, and rather hard

Wings are good, but you need more nonsticy flavors for sauces.

Service wasnt great and the food was forgettable. It will do in a pinch, but there are other places in town that offer the same menu.

Quick service! Walked in and it was pretty busy, had only 2 workers working at the time. Both were working efficiently and got our food to us quick! Definitely coming back!

When I received my delivery order I was missing a whole order and when I called the store that I ordered from and spoke to the manager I was advised there was nothing they could do. I would have to come into the store and they could not fix my order and have it delivered again. I would rate this with zero stars if I could due to horrible customer service and no attempt to fix their mistake.

Way to greasy,my wings were sitting in a puddle of grease,fries were Luke warm. The over cooked fries were better than the chicken. I decided to try the parmesan chicken! The seasoning looked as though they used the wide open side of the seasoning bottle instead of sprinkling it on. Way over season. DONT DO BUFFALO WILD WINDS ! They need to change their oil or something. Thats why only 2 stars, my 14 year old son could have done better with store bought chicken.

Took 15 mins more than supposed to be.Too much seasonings on the fries.If there is no description, it’s even hard to say which one is which one.Amount of food was huge, more than what you would expect.About the same price and more amount of food than Buffalo Wild wings, but bit lower in quality.I guess there was only 1 person in the kitchen but people don’t care so lolShould get better to compete with buffalo wild wings I guess lol

Red provided me and my boyfriend with the best service, she was so so nice when we came in late and hungry. Definitely brightened our nights with her attitude and we will be coming again!!

Called in for delivery and they sent on 1/2 the order. Called them and they put me on hold to figure out what to do. Then just hung up and refused and answer. This is second time they have forgot 1/2 the order and they do the usual driver forgot a bag while driver says they didn’t give them a bag. Order online with caution.

I hate to give bad reviews. The food was good. The portions were fair. The employees were nice.It was 2pm on a Tuesday. Only 2 people were there when I arrived and no one else came in to eat except 1 person that came in to pick up an order. So it wasnt busy at all.However, the entire restaurant was filthy. That is an absolute deal killer for a restaurant. The health department would shut you down on the spot. I am not joking.Every single surface in the place was greasy. The front counter, the window counter for picking up your order, the pop machine, many of the tables. You could see that the touch screen the counter person uses was extremely dirty.The kitchen is very visible and all the prep surfaces were filthy. The sides of the kitchen equipment, same. It looked bad all the way to the backAs I said, the employees were nice. Their clothes were not clean either. They werent busy. There was quite a bit of standing around so they could have been cleaning.Sorry for the bad review but this is not acceptable for a restaurant

They have the best wings in town but they have the worst service every time I have to wait for more than an hour to get my order and they always forget the sauces on the order

Everytime Ive been in the staff have been great, kind, respectful - and on point with recommendations. Was recommended hot sauce with lemon pepper flakes (big fan of lemon pepper- It. Was. So. Good. 12/10Two year update (12/28/2021):Look, i never go back and update reviews. But Imma break that rule because I just had another fantastic experience at Wingstop. If I could give another 5 star review I would. Staff is exceptional - friendly and timely. I cant say enough good things about this place.

I ordered possibly to most simple order from this location mid afternoon on a Thursday so it was not busy. I ordered mild wings, and that is all. I received half BBQ and Half lemon pepper. I understand mistakes happen and I just wanted what I ordered. Didn’t ask for a refund or anything like that. The First Lady I talked to had me explain everything and tells me she can’t find the ticket. Okay, I have all the documents on my phone ready to display, along with everything I ordered and the Wingstop bag in my possession. She handed me off to another lady who was quick to mock me and tell me the order did not exist. I told her I’m sitting to the right of the food, drink, and bag right now, and she sarcastically told me to breathe. I told her she’s not going to tell me what to do, which infuriated her to the point of aggressively and loudly saying she won’t fix my order and hung up on me. So I’m sitting here enjoying these honey bbq and lemon pepper wings and I absolutely hate them. Pretty simple order, pretty simple mistake, should have been a simple resolution, but sometimes the most simple things are the most difficult for some people.

4.5 stars.bOut of beer, and have been for 2 weeks. Solid, classic wings, decent but not overwhelming selection. Fries are a high point, definitely recommend! Boneless wings are really excellent! Homemade sauces (ranch and blue cheesealso stand out.

Amazing wings and service! I work pretty close to Wingstop and we get food from here often and it’s always super good. Management and staff are awesome, if their is an issue with our order they make sure it’s taken care of. Will always recommend!

Jacob the manager at this location was very helpful and fixed a mistake I had made via the app where my order accidentally transferred to this location. He called the store and transferred my order over. Thank you for fixing the situation.

This is the best Wingstop Ive ever been too!!! They really understand how to prepare the chicken before adding sauces or rubs. Thank you very much for the superior experience 🔥🔥🔥

The good news: the food is awesome. The bad news: they got our food wrong. The best news: They fixed it even though they were super busy and it was super late. Oh, and the Seneca Wallace memorabilia is cool.

Wings are small and cheap tasting. Tough skin with poor sauce flavor. Cajun fries came soaked and sitting in 3 pounds of sauces making them completely inedible. Roll came with an obscene amount of butter on it that I had to scoop off with a paper towel. I gave Wingstop a second chance and it didnt fail to disappoint yet again. If you want wings, go anywhere else and youll be better off.

We were traveling from Oklahoma to Minnesota and everything for food was closed when we arrived in town, except here. I felt bad for ordering so late (almost closing time), but we had to eat. The people who were working didnt care. They made my food with a smile. How refreshing! I really appreciate it. When we got to our hotel, the food was piping hot still and great. Thanks for feeding my family and I. If we are ever back in town, this will be our go to place!

Bww was closed so I went with wing stop. I went mid afternoon so it was pretty quiet. I placed an online order, but it seemed like they didnt start it till I got there so the wait was longer than I wanted. Wings were juicy and delicious though. Also recommend the voodoo fries.

Second time in a row but we have had stuff missing from our orders. We dont know if its the shady delivery people that they use or if wingstop employees have the same IQ as mcdonalds drive through employees. I was going to give it 2 stars but its one for now. Maybe if I get my food that I ordered Ill give it two. Order at your own expense.P.s. the food was luke warm.

We ordered from this location tonight through Eat Street. Long story short, the Eat Street employee lied to the establishment and got the order incorrect. However, Joanna that works at Wing Stop left the store number and her name on our order. She explained the situation and was so kind even though the mistake was not their fault. Service industry work is not easy and a thankless job. She still went above and beyond for her restaurant. Thank you so much for your help and kindness!

The employees were really chill and the food was fast. The food was good, the fries were on the sweet side which was kinda different but still good. The bbq flavor is good, a little heat but not too much.

Wings are always great. Never have more than 2 people working (usually one new person). Seems like every time I come here something is wrong with my order or they dont have the sauce or wings (somehowthat I ordered. If you wanna wait 45 minutes for good wings 15% of the time be my guest, but overdone fries and screwed up orders make up the other 85%.

I had cajun wings and cajun fries which were super spicy..couldnt finish it all. Also had honey korean bbq wings and liked them better than the cajun ones.

Very tasty wings boneless or bone in. Louisiana Rub flavor, were crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside. The Cajun flavor was a nice level of heat, not to hot, fries are seasoned perfectly, though a little greasy, overall very good, almost 20 min wait from counter till I got my order, no wifi, bike racks, delivery or catering, Ill be back though! All orders come with a 20 oz drink, upgradeable to a 32 oz drink, 8 wings (2 different flavors, 4 choices of sauces), fries (or another side), plus drink was $10.49, dollar more for bone-in...

Ive eaten here many times, but tonight is my first review. The service was better than it has been in the past and the gentlemen working tonight were wonderful. Though there was an extra wait, it was worth it for our food to taste so fresh. I ordered carry out and they did forget my veggie sticks, but they called as soon as I had left the parking lot and I decided not to go back in for them. Best experience Ive had at this location!

The wings are more consistently good than BWW. They are the expensive side and can take 20 minutes to get. If you like spicy, dont be afraid to get the hottest, they are not too hot. The fries are good too. They only have bottled beer and counter service.

Went on Valentine’s Day around 8pm with my boyfriend and the service was amazing! There was only one employee working and she took our order efficiently and with a friendly attitude! Our food came out even faster than it usually does (under 15 minutes!and the wings were delicious. We go at least once a month and the food is always amazing! Only downside is the wait times during lunch when it’s busy.

I will start off by saying that the place looks great and the service was as friendly as they needed to be. On that note, I ordered the parmesan garlic wings that were supposed to come in a creamy sauce, but there was no sauce and they were literally doused in grated parmesan. Very disappointed in the overall flavor. The actual plain wing itself was good and deep fried nicely. Pretty pricey for a below average product.

Really good flavor and reasonably priced wings. We were there the night of a football game, so they told us it could be up to 30min, but they came out in under 15. Also, the Mango Habanero is not nearly as hot as BWW so you can taste the flavor. Would go back and highly recommend.

Alright guys. I get it. Your food takes awhile to come out. But it is SO WORTH IT!!!The wings are freshly cooked and are not even comparable to its competitors. Understand that fresh food takes longer to cook than frozen, pre-cooked garbage and you will realize that these are the best wings around.

Food is typically good. Depends on who is cooking. There is a shorter dark haired lady that works there and has nothing but an attitude and laughs if you have any type of complaint. Everytime we have placed an order we have had to wait for the food. Last time there was 4 others who were waiting for orders they had called in as well, beyond the time stated. Should think about a staff overhaul.

Came in at 11:15 on a Friday morning. I was told it would take 18 minutes which sounded kind of long but I was okay with especially if theyre being made fresh. After sitting there for 35 minutes what looked to be a manager working on a schedule in the dining room came and asked me my name to check on the order. he then came back and said they were plating it and it was another five minutes before my food came. The wings had good flavor but half of mine were cold. This was my first time to Wingstop and I doubt if Ill be returning.

This was our first time here. Girl at the counter could have been friendlier, but the rest makes up for it. Was told 18 mins and was closer to 10. Boneless wings were crispy and juicy. Mango Habanero was delicious. Not too sweet and plenty of spice. Hawaiian needed a little more flavor. Fries are hand cut and delicious. Honey mustard was great, as was the ranch. Prices are very reasonable, good sauce selection, service was ok. Overall we will definitely go back.

We attended the “soft opening” (friends and familynight...it was our first time eating here and definitely not the last! The wings and fries were so fresh and so tasty!! They are now catering ours sons Grad party!!! They are definitely in good hands having Tanner Smart leading the way!!! Thanks again and we will see you soon!

I was very impressed with this location! The staff did a great job handling all the madness of just opening! The manager Tanner Smart was great - made sure we were comfortable, had everything we needed and made sure our order was correct! It was busy but it also just opened so we knew to expect that! The food was ready in about 20 minutes which is what we expected as the food is made to order! Fries are amazing and love the garlic Parmesan bone-in wings!!! Will be coming here to eat lunch a lot!!! Keep up the good work!

Great flavors, from what Ive tried so far. Different flavors than Ive had other places in town, even if they have similar names. Great hand cut style fries. It was busy (just openedto the point where I felt it needs a little larger venue. Also does sell bottled beer as an FYI.

Heard phenomenal stories about how good Wingstop is - and that was confirmed tonight! This location just opened so it was busy - took 40 minutes to get my wings (Louisiana Rub and Mildbut it was worth every minute waiting. Wings were juicy with the right amount of seasoning or sauce. Fries were outstanding as well. Staff was friendly and polite, including Seneca Wallace who was in the kitchen helping cook and get food out. Will definitely be back - can’t wait till they add some in DSM!
