It was nice. Very rustic, which in my definition means it needed some TLC to shared the place up a bit. But ideal for parents with young kids I can imagine. Especially as a free day out. Older ones would possibly get a bit bored. For adults though, there was a small outside bar and seating which was a pleasant surprise.

A really lovely little animal farm located right in the centre of Bristol, once inside you wouldn’t even know you were in the city centre! The entry is free although they are a charity so accept donations. There are a few different animals on the farm such as sheep, goats, pigs, cows, chickens, rabbits and geese. There’s also some lovely flower gardens and vegetable patches growing every kind of veg you can think of! Fab place to bring children to learn about the animals and growing produce.Parking is a little tricky as there is not a car park, so you need to find roadside parking. All of the surrounding streets are pretty jam packed, so you may need to walk a little.

Its free so thats obviously a plus!I know its a farm but there were a LOT of stinging nettles in really bad places for toddlers. Making hard for them to stay next to animals and you worry about them getting stung constantlyAlso not many animals to see

One of the best places to visit to snuggle a sheep, goat, cow, or goose! Ive gone twice in two weeks and will likely go again a few more times. Though its mainly geared to families- all my twenty something friends adore it here.

Absolutely fantastic who created this place in the middle of noisy city. They have plenty of farm animals like sheep, goats, rabbits and the enter is for free. You can sit down for coffee or get any nice food in small farm restaurant. You can also join the club and do some activities for your mental health.

Good for young kids and parents, a few farm animals to see like sheep, goats, pigs, chickens plus a few toys and some nice allotments to walk around. Good education factor too with plenty of fun learning to do, plus lovely food and coffee at the cafe 🙂

A nice plan for families. Even though it is free, there is a suggested fee for donation, which is worth (£4,as per 2022 - not specified if per person or group). There are animals, some plants and fruits to see. There is a restaurant and the food is very nice, with healthy and vegetarian options. Something different from other farms, is that visitors are not allowed to feed the animals. However, the plan is still very nice. There is a park, perhaps not designed for toddlers, but there is a big sand area with toys, where they can have lots fun. A lot of space to play, have a picnic, and a library section to read (books for all ages). The only cons is that there is not a car park, so you will need to find a place in the street. In general, it is a great farm with more family activities than usual.

Free to enter and enjoy with lots to do. Only difficulty is there is no sign posted outside so you know where to enter, but it is pretty much the only thing at the end of the road.

Absolutely love this place, its a haven in the city. Theres free entry with a recommended donation, the cafe is lovely, and we love to just want around and see the animals. I love watching the gardens growing and changing through the seasons, this is a perfect place to relax and take a breathe. Great for picnics too.

Really disappointed! Hardly any animals here. My little one couldnt see most of the animals due to a white wall being in front and being to small to see over. Cafe was very over priced, £1.45 for a bottle of water is ridiculous! The park area was awful, hardly any equipment in there and nothing for younger children. Would also be a good idea for them to update there website to the correct parking charge. Its now £1.50 an hour not £1.00. I took £3 for 3 hours and was only able to pay for 2 hours due to the price increase. However you wouldnt want to stay here for 3 hours as there is just about enough to do for a hour. Go to Grimsby Farm Kingswood its a million times better!!

First visit after many years. Not much parking nearby, ASDA 5 minute walk away with free parking for 2 hours. Free entry. Plenty of places to sit and have a picnic or use the cafe. Dont expect fast food, all wholesome home made healthy options and vegan stuff, cans drink very pricey. Your choice. Animals on the farm, pigs, cows, goats, geese, sheep along with plenty of flowers and vegetables. Highly recommended.

Amazing place for kids! Visited with a friend and our two toddlers, they absolutely loved it and we enjoyed some delicious food and lots of exploring. Really such an asset to the local community and well worth a visit if you live anywhere near it. Lots of pay and display parking very nearby and once you’re there it’s so well set up for kids and babies with plenty of toilets, mini sinks, reusable wipes, kid friendly menu, and of course all the activities.

If you think you cannot find a farm in the middle of a city, you havent been to this place. You will find farm animals, a picnic area, a play area, flowers and vegetables and a cafe that sells great food and drinks. And everything without entrance fee (donations are more than welcome).Great place for family time or if you want quiet in the middle of the city (if you dont mind animals noises).

Great place to take toddlers to see sheep, pigs, cows etc. and there is an excellent café. There is seating indoors and outdoors with high chairs for babies and picture books to entertain older children. A recent addition is turkeys, who seemed to be busy reproducing last time I visited!

Nice couple of hours spent wandering around this free to enter venue.Cafe was nice, very vegetarian/vegan/ special requirement friendly but meat eaters were also catered for. Also Plenty of space for picnicing. Shop was surprisingly good value ( unusual in any venue)Only small nit pick was that plants in the gardens could have been more consistently labeled .Altogether a recommended venue for a short day out.

Hidden Gem! This place is great for kids but Im 20, went with my bf, and we had a blast. Very calm, friendly animals. The goats even let us pet them. There are sinks to wash your hands after contact which was great! Be sure to check out the ceramic(?stall - you can design your own! 10/10 I have already recommended this place to people.

Nice little farm for the kids. Its getting 3 stars from me however, because its quite noisy due to the fact that its located in the city, right next to a railway, pub and road which sort of spoils the experience a bit. But overall, I think its worth the visit.

I LOVE this place. Everything about it is wonderful, the farm, the café, the nursery. We are so lucky to have such a brilliant community place like this in Bedminster. And well worth a trip from further afield. The kids love it, the food, the cakes the coffee all so good.

Love this place, been quite a few times now and always had a good experience. The cafe uses really fresh produce, in the summer most of it they seem to grow themselves which you can really tell. A small selection of animals but enough to keep the interest of my three year old without wearing her out completely, and then she loves the dumper truck toys in the gravel area too. Friendly chatty staff and it’s donation only so good if you’re on a low income. Cute little gift shop with local crafts too.

Lovely little urban farm right on the doorstep, and free! Perfect for little ones and families. Didnt use the cafe but it looked popular. We enjoyed stroking the goats and cows and will definitely be back. Nice to know that the animals are rotated and take a turn in larger fields.

Windmill Hill City Farm has been in the Bedminster area of Bristol since 1976.It has Dexter cows, sheep with lambs, pigs , piglets, goats and kids. Geese sitting on new laid eggs and hens, roosters, ducks and drakes. Late Spring is a great time to visit. All the trees were bursting with blossom.

Fabulaous little farm :Staff were really lovely and the animals looked really happy :They are selling their chicken eggs as well which we wanted to buy for next time x)! It will be even great if there are some advertisements near ASDA so people can go on the route :)!Came back after lockdown and the whole park feels very safe and good quantity of hand sanitising stations as well. It would be lovely to have a white board somewhere to show what animals are currently there in the entrance to see any updates etc.. The cafes food was great as well but the maximum number of people were not very reinforced so it would be nice to have this a bit more enforced.

What a magical place! You step through the gates into what I can only describe as a little wonderland of flora and fauna. My little boy had an amazing time. We could only stay for an hour but I would imagine you could spend hours here. They even have a little picnic area outside as well as tables hidden within the garden. So lovely! I wish we lived nearer and will certainly be back on our next visit to Bristol.

What an amazing place! I think I might have loved it more than my son in fact! For a free day out its educational, its outdoor, its at one with nature, it wears the kids out (my son is 14months oldand theres so much to do. My son especially loved picking grass and feeding the kid goats. We didnt visit the cafe but it was packed and I heard some lovely comments about it. Will definitely be going back with friends and family. I have already recommended it.

Wow, what an amazing place. Great experience for anyone to see a working farm that promotes Eco and ethical values to all. The farm animals and allotments are well kept. On sunny day it would be a great place to have a picnic made from their shop produce or from the onsite cafe

Lovely place to hang out with kids, visit different animals, play outside, have a coffee or lunch. Make sure you wander beyond the farm courtyard into the beautiful, peaceful and productive gardens and paddocks for the full experience. The cafe has WiFi and good coffee. There is also a playground and sandpit on site. They have goats, cows, pigs, ducks, sheep, hens, geese, rabbits and Guinea pigs. Always lots of see and do here and very well set up for families. Photos include one of a pale tussock moth seen having a wander in September.

This is such a great place to bring young children or even to go just as adults. This is a working farm, where they grow their own crops and you can walk around and see them work as you visit. It is very well maintained and there is a cafe on site as well as a picnic area. There are plenty of warning signs about washing hands after touching fences and animals which is very good. They have toilets on site and a large area to wash and dry hands. There is plenty to do on a wet or dry day. Non-profit and free to get in. Excellent all round!

Came across this by accident, the man at the Victoria park cafe suggested it to us. My son really enjoyed himself. Although its a small farm there is plenty to do. Play area, little digger pit in the centre by the cafe. Plenty of picnic areas and they sell the products they grow in the allotments. Toilet facilities also, free to go but Id make sure you take money for a donation. One of the best free farms weve been to.
