Contemporary takes on Cajun & Creole classics, plus cocktails, offered in a relaxed setting.
Let me start off by saying the food was FABULOUS...at the CHIMES! Last night, Wednesday, November 2nd, we took our mother out to celebrate her 91st birthday. We arrived at Willies at 6:30 p.m. without reservations. Upon entering, we saw 2 tables with more than 4 people seated and 2 booths each occupied by only 2 patrons, leaving several tables unoccupied. We were a party of 7, one being 91 years old, one other being disabled in a wheelchair. The hostess, as well as the manager on duty refused to put two tables together to accommodate our party. They both were unwilling to combine 2 tables but would seat us in a booth and move the wheelchair out of the way because it is a hazard sticking out at the end of the booth. Then advised we could wait 30-45 minutes until one of the larger parties already seated were done. There were no other customers waiting at this time and when we questioned their suggestion about waiting, the manager on duty suggested we could go to the Chimes down the street. We took her advice, and not only were they very accommodating with out seating request, the food was absolutely FABULOUS! The owner of Willies may or may not be interested to know that on a non-busy, Wednesday night his hostess and manager caused him to lose 7 customers and gave a competitor his business for good!
Got the saintsation po boy and it was delicious, highly recommend. The homemade chips were great too. My server Olivia was great! Super nice and checked on me often. The food came out quick too.
I called on Saturday, October 15 at 5:30 to place a to go order. I did not get the young ladies name that was taking my order, but unfortunately she was either having a very bad day or something was wrong. She was extremely rude and unhelpful. I was looking at the online menu, on the Willies website and she kept telling me that they didn’t offer this and they didn’t offer that and when I asked for suggestions she seemed to be very bothered and did not have time to help me. I asked her what type of white sangrias are offered and she told me she couldn’t. She told me I just need to come in and look at the menu myself. I requested a half gallon margarita she told me that’s not on the menu-although I was looking at it on the site. There was no other menu to go off of other than what’s on the website. I understand we all have a bad day, but I’m sure that’s not the kind of person Willie’s wants representing them.
One of the last remaining casual, family friendly restaurants in BR with quality food, normal size portions at fair prices. Service is also good. Very comfortable setting/vibe.
Pretty disappointed in their shrimp and catfish platter. Portion was extremely small for the high price of $26 (see picture). The coleslaw was also really bad but that really isnt a big surprise. Few restaurants put any effort in making their coleslaw good. Some of their other food looks really good but I definitely dont recommend their seafood platers.
Always leave so-very-full!! Food is delicious! Parking lot is so small not much dining area. Worth any wait.$$$Drinks are great also
Entrance is welcoming, the wait staff was good. Got a drink that isnt on the menu and it was perfectly delicious. Food was cooked really well, it just didnt have seasoning to it. I had fried fish and shrimp with a loaded potato. Over all I would go again..just bring some Tonys seasoning.
Great place great food great people we had a great anniversary for office thank you Willie‘s!!
Great for a quick.lunch on a nice patio. Theyre usually always busy and only four stars for lack of parking.
If you plan to eat here dont order boiled crabs. We ordered snow crabs and Dungeness crabs. They were dried out and tasted old, had to remove the meat from the shell with a butter knife. Meat crumbled when removed.potatoes were hard and corn was not cooked all the way. When the bill came it was 120.00 asked for military discount, only gave discount on appetizer 1.50 off. Ended up taking the crabs to go so I can doctor them up at home. If you want snow crabs go to hooters cheaper and much fresher.
Just got served a flat bottle beer at Willie’s - was told “sorry all alcohol sales are final so you’ll still have to pay for it” That’s a first for me. Losing a regular customer over a beer.
Willies is quite the find. I’ve driven past it 100 times and never stopped. But after one meal it’s on our regular list. Really good food here and we didn’t even get to try half of it. Looking forward to coming back.
Sunday soft shell crab special and homemade chips super delicious. Service was great. Tried the gumbo and crawfish bisque, also very good.
Food was under seasoned and the waitress never brought me a drink. The food was brought out separately for my party of 6, but all orders were placed at the same time. Do to the waitress not checking on my table I wasn’t able to point out that she never brought me my drink. I gave them 2 stars because I’ve visited before and my experience was not as bad. I think the waitress didn’t know how to manage her tables well.
Family and I went for the first time on a Saturday night. Not too busy, however, service was not good at all. No refills offered during two hours we were there. Couple of our chicken meals were under cooked. Not impressed at all. Management was kind but inexperienced. May try again in the future, could’ve been an off night for the server and cooks.
Delicious! The red fish is amazing!! Enough to split. Loving the pepper dressing. We are from out of town and this is one of our favorite places!!
Today was my first visit. Literally no wait, service staff was polite, friendly and attentive. I ordered the seafood baked potato and it was a very generous serving and super delish!!! My family and fellow lunch host companions, ordered the smoked wings and found them to be perfectly delicious. Willies also proved tops in "diet" drink selections, there were 3! We were seated in a very large comfortable booth, with a relaxing atmosphere. Definitely NOT my last visit! 😀
Great atmosphere food was great highly recommend a seafood potato but watch it is big enough for two
We have gone to Willies in the past, & enjoyed it so we decided to try their Sunday brunch...nope! The food quality was just not there. My husband somewhat enjoyed his seafood omelet, but that was it. The grits, waffles, bacon, even the sweet tea was bad. The customer service was okay.
Our waitress was really nice, food was hot, soft shell crab was good
Wow. This place was a complete disappointment. For the $75 I paid, I will not be going back. I was unaware someone could botch crawfish and shrimp bisque. Was I wrong. Chips were bland and soggy, sourdough was soggy, shrimp was overcooked and bland. Not going to order here again. Ill go to chimes next time.
First time visiting Willies. Food amd services were good. Sat outside on their patio where they had fans nice little breeze but the flies were so bad. Couldnt really enjoy my food because I was too busy trying to keep the flies away. Maybe consider a closed in patio. Will visit again but will sit inside.
I can tell that this place is used to being packed out. Got told 25 min wait, and only waited 5 min. Cant go wrong with the whole menu, but I recommend the seafood stuffed potato, and THESE cheese logs.
First time here. Not impressed. The food was not up to expectations. I was left hanging. Not satisfied. Just blah. I was with someone else who did like their food. They were satisfied. I will try again another time of day. I did like the booth we sat in. The atmosphere was nice.
Was my first time here. Was not impressed. The food was bland at best. The atmosphere was alright I guess. I may try it out again at a different time of day. It wasnt awful but being the first impression I was not pleased. Sorry but I had to be honest. The server was polite and knowledgeable.
On a road trip from NOLA to Houston and stopped in at Willie’s for lunch. Only 6 mins off the 10. Excellent food! I would recommend to anyone. Whole family enjoyed their meals, something for everyone, even our 6 yr old. Make the trip, it’s worth it.
Willie’s had great Louisiana flavored seafood and I LOVED the fried green tomatoes. They were so filling because there was crab meat on top. The gumbo would’ve been 5 stars but I really wanted some okra in it.
We went to celebrate mother in laws bday, Great environment. We have variety of food everything was delicious. Thank you Willies Restaurant
They have sweet tea and it’s not from a fountain! The redfish was pretty good. The sauce on top compliments the dish well. The burgers are surprisingly good! Chocolate cheesecake - yes please.Blueberry margarita- delicious !
Pretty cool place with a cool environment. Drinks were good. The fried shrimp had a good flavor but over breaded. Crawfish were on point!
Good food, okay prices, great place to meet friends for an evening out. Drinks 🍸🍹 are very nice as well. Best to carpool, tight parking spaces.
Five people “working” at the host stand on aTuesday night and we were put on a 20 min wait. The patio was empty and only a few tables were remaining with to go box’s already on the table. Meaning the server wouldn’t have been double sat etc. We informed the hostess and she said that there short staffed. We were the only people waiting im not understanding why there above cleaning the tables. This is a classic example of a restaurant being mismanaged. I come here often and I hope this isn’t a sign of things to come in the future. (Update after owners replyI would have understood a few min wait for the servers to catch up etc but a 25 min wait when the only thing keeping your guest from being sat are tables Waiting to be cleaned. I figured the manager would get one of the three hostess that were standing around not doing anything to step in. Not to mention there were only two tables on the patio that already received Togo box’s and the checks at this point the waitress is caught up. There isn’t anything left to really do. Glad I’m able to motivate. If things are better on my next visit I’ll definitely change my review this wasn’t a personal attack and I do not live behind a computer or online.
Best food I have on my entire trip to Nola during Mardi Gras, A must stop I will say
Nice restaurant, small wait on a Monday evening and fantastic crawfish. $6 a lb is not bad for this time of the year (Januaryand they were moderate in size. Also had the wings which were fantastic. Very pleased.
First time going here and I must say it was Goodt!!!! Yes I said GOODT!!! They are very busy and we had to wait about an hr too be seated but it was worth it. Everything came out good and hot. The pork egg rolls were very good with the pao sauce and the Beauregard was excellent. Would definitely recommend anyone thats In the area to go
The food was great. I had the Beauregard catfish with the mac and cheese. Salads come with the meals and I had the cheese sticks. I absolutely loved the cheese sticks. The waitress was nice. She handled the situation when my gf wasnt feeling the pasta. Gave us three options to choose from and of course we return it and wasnt charged. Alcohol drinks was good as well. Plus you can take them to go. I will revist again.
This great Lousiana cuisine restaurant stands out for its food and service. Pet welcome and a great selection of local beers. Easy parking and nice settings outside or inside make this the ideal Baton Rouge destination.
Willie’s is one of the best Cajun food places we have been to! We will definitely be back when coming back to LA! The service was phenomenal on top of their delicious food! We had the crab legs, gumbo, red fish, and the Cajun cheese dip! Every single dish was so good! We highly recommend Willie’s!
I ordered the fried Fish and Shrimp Platter and when my food came out my shrimp were not deveined! SPOILED MY WHOLE APPETITE! Asked the waitress and she was informed by the manager that their policy is “shrimp don’t come deveined!”. I have never been to a restaurant that doesn’t! I will NEVER go back or recommend ANYONE to Willie’s!
Returning home from 14 days on the road, this restaurant is by far the best I’ve experienced.I sat out on the patio with my Dawg, LotAtmosphere A+Ambiance A+Food A+Price A+Music AStaff A+Manager A-(*she was waitressing/not a bad thing but not a manager, please; but she did sit and talk for a min A++)Views ACleanliness A+Dog Friendly A+Thanks Willie’sSerina and Lot
Very good and fresh food. We also had an excellent waitress. We will definitely visit again.
I loved my visit to Willies today ! It was my first time and we had Caitlyn taking care us . She had great service and was especially attentive to suggesting foods that we would love including the fried green tomatoes. I recommend going here for seafood and good drinks! The shrimp and advocate salad is huge!
Loved the place. Was traveling through and my family wanted seafood, so they got what they wanted! O had one of the best burgers I have ever had!! We even bought a large order of crawdads to bring home!
Louisiana toast with crawfish tails, blackened redfish with Pontchartrain blue crab and au gratin sauce, baked mac and cheese, steamed broccoli and salad, the super friendly wait staff, the local IPAs...... amazing!
The DEJA BREW was absolutely fantastic! The food was delicious here! The service at the bar and tableside was topnotch. Next time we are in Louisiana we will definitely be coming back
We are from Texas and was driving through to Florida for vacation. Stayed the night in Baton Rouge. The best food hands down. 🙌 Very flavorful. The dry rub on the wings as an appetizer was mouth watering. The order came with plenty of food. The food came quickly and hot. We left stuffed and miserable. Could not stop eating. Drinks were delicious. Recommend 100%!
Food was awesome! Genuinely friendly fast service. Food well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Inviting atmosphere. Clean and roomy seating.
Ive been twice so far and I gotta say I enjoyed myself both times. Currently they have a special on Thursday for boiled shrimp instead of $18 its $12 which isnt bad. The shrimp are big and well spiced you wont be disappointed. The drinks are good however they dont have a happy hours special on them at the moment. If youre looking for a nice spot to eat with family, friends, or maybe a place to take a date I suggest trying Willies.
First time here and the food and service was good! I would have given the place 5 stars but, we did find someones hair in our onion rings when it came out. They did however took care of it quickly and brought out another order of onion rings for us.
If I ever came back, the only thing I would reorder is the seafood potatoes. Everything was decent, but not great. The Apple pie waffle was drenched in whipped cream, and needed some crunch. However, the apples were warm and felt like they were made with love. In the basic B, I order eggs fried over hard-they weren’t and the taste was odd. The bacon wasn’t crispy, but it was cooked nicely. The grits were an interesting taste, they’re super creamy and probably made with cheese (the same grits from the shrimp and grits which were good also). The biscuit was like a biscuit that needed sopped in syrup. It was a good dry biscuit perfect for eating with fried chicken. Lastly, the seafood potatoes… they were GREAT. Filling and plentiful. As a cheese lover, I needed a little more cheese in the middle. The seafood was overflowing over top and the potatoes were cooked perfectly. I do plan to come again and try lunch.
