Wonderful place for a walk/hike. Smallish area but lots of paths.
I wouldnt consider it a birding hotspot. But it can provide some ok local birding. Good primarily in the Spring and Fall.
Great hiking trails as theres a few different routes to take. One of my favorite trails in the lehigh valley😊
The education team knows so much and is always friendly. Hiking is beautiful the trails are kept very nice.
dont have Bike trail no
Its a really nice place and the pathways are nicely shaded
Great preserve, with a bird trail where you can see vultures, Redtail hawks, a falcon, and owls. There are easy trails that take you down to the creek where you can wade in the water, or trails that take you back to the upper pavilion to the sensory trail. The property has lots of wine berrie bushes and occasionally you can sign up for pop up tubing where you float down the creek. Its a great like area that you definitely should checkout.
This is a gem for learning, walking trails, event space! It was a perfect venue for my granddaughters 4th birthday party - party inside one of the event spaces, wildlife interaction outdoors for the children (and adultsto learn about the animals, pet some and see them up close!! Highly recommend for that something different experience!
Cute, small, impossible to get lost. Signage is a bit condescending in regards to dogs as i believe most dog owners are responsible. Signage is aimed at the minority who are not responsible dog owners, which feels insulting, but. . . Onleash dogs are welcome. Pathways and trails are nicely labeled.
Seems that the Wildlands Conservancy has created some new trails recently. The location is beautiful and the programs are well run!Im so glad that in our community!Dont miss their other locations!
Had a wild edibles foraging class here the other day. Super informative and they have great trails.
Great trails and hikes. Good for all ages. Only portions would be considered handicap accessible.
We have never been to this place or even knew it existed until we had a new type of geocache to do. Its called and adventure lab. This conservatory is definitely worth a stop. It has alot of neat and maintained trails to wander around in and an extensive raised wooden trail.
Beautiful hiking trails. Easy access to the water.
Great place to reconnect to nature. Thoroughly enjoyed the trail, even had a close encounter with a deer.
Beautiful place to walk in a nature preserve surrounded by expensive homes on South Mountain in Emmaus. Trails are clearly marked and well maintained. Parking is free.
Fantastic, quite , serine. A beautiful place to walk the boardwalk. The paths are dog friendly, a very pleasant experience
Beautiful time for a walk at Wildlands! Waves of yellow buttercup flowers along the paths, and plenty of birds chirping. Freshly laid woodchips on the paths too. Do be vigilant on the boardwalk Floodplain path - several planks missing or pulled out; still any easy walk, just be mindful 😊
Great for an easy, calming walk. Beautiful views of the creek. Super quiet area!
Trails are well maintained, boardwalk is a great trail to see many plants and wetlands animals! Easy walking trails lots to see!!!
Nice place for an easy stroll. Enough trails for a trail run or to get your steps in. Nice creek views and a neat boardwalk in the floodplain.
We love Wildlands Conservancy. Easy trails for us to take our children on. We love the boardwalk trail that runs along the creek. Trails are clean and clearly marked.. We go frequently and will continue to do so.
Pool Farm is Wildlands home base, wildlife sanctuary, and environmental education center. Its hidden away along the Little Lehigh River, a small (except during floodstrout stream that runs to the Lehigh River several miles downstream. Wildlands Conservancy is the regions major land trust and runs an extensive outdoor and indoor environmental education program for schools and the general public. The Bike & Boat program is an award winning program and popular resource for area schools, businesses, and residents of the Lehigh Valley and beyond.
Boardwalk trail is the only stroller friendly one. However, trails are not steep so I felt comfortable with the carrier. Unfortunately, trails are poorly labeled but the reason why this place deserves 5* is basically the beautifully preserved nature. You can see lots of different birds and they also have bird cage. The best thing about this place is river tubing!!! The water is crystal clear.
Took an hour walk thru the woods here. Boardwalk alongside a stream was interesting. Note there is gravel on lead up to the wooden walkway. Very well maintained location.
Beautiful and very much a nature preserve. Fun walk on the floodplain boardwalk. But couldnt find the Sensory Trail...
Beautiful place to go for a walk or learn about wildlife. The professionals there are super knowledgeable and have interesting stories to tell. Great place!
Absolutely beautiful trail! Lots of parking available and a number of different places to walk. Would definitely recommend!
Nice selection of scenery, from creek/wetlands view to hilltop vistas and woodlands. Its not huge; budget about 1-2 hours to do all the trails.
This is a great place to hike. The trails are very well kept and clean. They have some more difficult areas and also the wetlands area which is ADA compliant I believe. Also the non-profit that runs it is great!
Really enjoyed the Hoot Hike experience. Was great to learn more about our native birds. Look forward to visiting in the summer! It’s a hidden gem.
We had my son’s bday party here yesterday and it was so lovely. The space is cool (shady, breezywhere the pavilion is, the animals they showed were lovely, the facts they shared and the environmental mission (privilege of being here, responsibility of taking care of it, etc). Ben and Jen, the hosts (and helper Ginawere the cutest, and really did a great job. Definitely worth the value, highly recommend bday parties at Wildlands!!
I love going here. Everytime in the area my family makes a point of stopping by. Its a wonderful nature center. The paths are well maintained. The staff is friendly and kind. A perfect place for young children who want to explore!!
This is regarding the Southern California Montane Botanic Garden. I have to say... I am surprised I found a place that does not charge a fee (they do ask for donations. Please, donate!). I come here from time to time, mostly in the spring and summer. Its a nice little place to take a nice breather in nature and the botanical garden at the front. There is also a little pond, and at times see this big cat fish swimming by the deck. On top of that, by the entrance, they have the apple farm, and when you come out of the botanical garden, there is a small building that serves food.
My family has been going to the summer camps for multiple summers and weve been to WC for other occasions, too. It’s very relaxing to be there, talk with the knowledgeable staff and walk around in nature. It is close to town, yet feels off the beaten path. Remember the bug repellent. It’s a refuge from the hot Summer sun- I don’t ever need to worry about my kiddos getting overheated during summer camp.
I took my class there on a field trip. It was enjoyed very much by the teachers, children, and parents. The activities were age appropriate with lots of hands on experiences. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. We went on a nature walk, explored a pond, and learned about a few of the animals that live at the conservancy. They offer programs for all ages such as field trips and birthday parties. It was a wonderful day for all.
We love visiting Wildlands Conservancy. The trails are well tended, shady (in many areas), and perfect for outdoor adventure hikes with little ones. Our son loves attending Wildlands summer camps both in Bethlehem and in Emnaus. We attended a birthday party at Wildlands that was spectacular outdoor fun - scavenger hunt, tree climbing, games, wild animals, nature hike, and smores.
Chaperoned a really nice field trip here. The guided walks and visit to the vernal pool were both fun and educational. The kids loved looking through the microscopes at their nature treasures and finding tadpoles. The animal presentation in the education center was informative and adorable.
Beautiful! The staff was so kind and helpful, my baby girl had a blast with her class, and so did I. ☺
Nice for a quick walk and an escape into nature without having to drive to the Poconos and more wild than walking in a park. Stay on the boardwalk or explore the nature trails. The place is small, so no real hiking or lengthy walks, but great for a quick trip away from civilization. They also have a raptor aviary where there are owls and hawks and the like who are not fit to survive on their own in nature due to previous injury. Great place to visit. Also check out their kids programs!
Very nice place, very up close with the wild life. Well maintained area nature trails.
Nice short hike and a very pretty place.
Love the Dorothy Rider Pool Wildlife Sanctuary, Wildlands Conservancys office location! My grandkids love to play in the stream and view critters in the ponds. Summer camp is the best!
Nice place to visit! Make sure to put on bug spray
Great place to experience nature! Take an easy walk down a wooden raised path or a hike on a rocky path. Play in the water, check out the frog ponds and nice clean bathrooms.
I love taking my little ones for a walk around the trails. The wood trail is my favorite and its so beautiful. Peaceful and relaxing kind of a walk.
The wood boardwalk is very nice place for a family stroll when the weather is not too hot. You see rabbits, birds, butterflies, fishes and owl along the trail. I like the small ponds too.
Beautiful place to walk, enjoy the scenery, nature, different plants, flowers, all kinds of paths...theres a bird watching place that we really enjoyed. The birds come to feed and play among the shaded trees and flower gardens. Very peaceful place.
I love taking my daughter here for classes and taking classes myself here as well. The teachers are fantastic and they use so many different facilities around the valley. Ms. Christina is the best!
I went on a bike and boat trip. It was very good and the guides were very helpful. They were very patient to teach a beginner like me to row a canoe. The river was very gentle and not deep. Great place to start even for people who dont know how to swim.
