Easygoing dining space serving up Vietnamese pho, banh mi & other noodle & rice entrees.
The service was great from our server , meh from the support staff. Food was fantastic...it was freezing inside the place though and Im not someone who gets cold. If the goal was to get people to buy hot sake, well mission accomplished 😂
We love eating here but it is a little pricey for asian food. And they don’t have enough sitting place.
We have eaten here about a half a dozen times. Every time the food is fresh and delicious. The wait staff is attentive and appropriately leaves you to have your conversation with family and friends. The decor is simple but comfortable. It is clean and well maintained with a consistent serving system in place.I’ve had the rare flank pho and the well done flank and brisket pho. I’ve also had the pork chop and rice. This is not to be missed. The Bahn Mi is delicious and is served with fish, chicken or shrimp. The bread is toasted on the inside and the veggies that come with it are fresh. The Yakosabi noodles are bathed in the house sauce with carrots, onions, pickled cabbage. The egg rolls are a perfect size for an appetizer. They’re tasty. The Vietnamese Coffee cheesecake is rich with coffee flavor and also creamy. The banana dessert had bananas in rice paper, with coconut crumbles and caramel over it and a couple scoops of ice cream. Wonderful! All in all a delicious and delightful experience.
Waste of money. Menu prices are different than what u are actually charged. Got bubble tea here and was charged almost 20$ for two basic Thai tea with boba. Why? Then to top it off, all of the pearls were stuck together in clumps. Barely sweet. My usual good spot for bubble tea (typhoon noodlewas closed so I came here and it showed me why I shouldnt ever come back.
The good- The Pho was good in flavor. There was not a lot of meat or veggies with it, the flavor was good just lacking on the meat. The spring rolls were not bad they were average to me. I think average is a good description for the food I had not bad not great. The service on the other hand was great. Very friendly service. The atmosphere was nothing special. The bad- nothing really bad to say. Ive had better Pho so I cant rate them at that level. The ugly- I almost missed the place they are hard to see from the road.Overall- I will eat there again they are worth it the price isnt bad at all. The flavor is good just not the best Ive had. I would recommend going there. The rest of the food smelled great and if I ate in, it may be different. Look for an updated review when I try then again.
Delicious Pho, amazing service, and great prices. This place is a hidden gem! We will definitely be back when in the area!!!
Absolutely love this place!! The E2 is delicious! I could eat it everyday! The fresh mint and basil with the veggies and chicken is just to die for. Great customer service always!
I have eaten Wild Ginger many times for take out. This is the first time since the pandemic Ive had a chance to eat in and Im so glad I did. Aileen is an amazing chef. I used to work under her and always loved her food. Her food is amazing.
Was in Ashville a few weeks ago, but apparently Wild Ginger is closed for a while or permanently, according to surrounding businesses. Their website does not reflect their closure. I called, but no answer & drove by twice to see if they were open. Wonderful restaurant & am sad they r closed, maybe for good.
Looong wait for food (yes, that’s everywhere these days). Table that came in 5 min after us received their food first (both apps and main course). Fried egg rolls all wrapping and minimal filling. Sweet potato fries luke warm and bahn mi sandwich too salty to finish. Egg rolls were also very salty. Husband said Pho was okay. Perhaps this is the best this part of Asheville has to offer in Vietnamese food but we won’t be back.
The food here at this top rated gem is authentically crafted with magic. The wizards in the kitchen will treat you with all the Viet flavors youve been craving. They can get busy, and service can be slow, but just be patient. That Banh Mi is coming. Though, a $7 thai tea is a bit unfair, save some money and grab some at the Asian market next door.
This place is very popular, the food is always very good as always expected. I wish the owner would consider moving into a bigger place, this time we waited almost an hour to get us seated because we reserved for 9 people and we waited again for almost 40 minutes for our order. But we got out with a happy tummy and a smile on our faces. We enjoyed our food and service. Hoping though that one day soon they will move to a bigger space.
So unbelievably delicious I cannot describe it in words. Fresh ingredients authentic taste amazing portions prices are perfect for what you receive. It’s simply perfection. The Chicken Katsu sandwich was also unbelievable, I highly recommend it. The sweet potato fries were perfectly tasty and crispy. Honestly I normally do not like sweet potato fries these were awesome. 4 stars because service wasn’t great but partially because they were really busy, I’ve worked in the food industry before and understand.
Never tried pho before but I loved it here. Brought the family back and they loved it just as much. Their smoothie Boba is worth the visit even if you arent hungry
The folks here are amazing. The food is delicious and the staff goes above and beyond to take care of their customers. I come here for the vegetarian pho and level of service.
The restaurant was small cozy and food was awesome. All the girls were very polite and friendly. Good prices and very good food. Plenty of free parking in front of the restaurant.
Delicious!!!! Yes it might be a little hard finding your server sometimes but the food, portions and price is great! Will definitely come back!
After years of hearing coworkers rave about Wild Ginger - my husband and I dined in tonight and were *treated* by the friendly service, homey vibes, inclusive atmosphere, and fresh - delectable dishes. Fresh rolls were banging, Vermicelli noodle salad, and the Yakisoba noodles are unmatched. Each dish is made with whole, fresh ingredients. 10000% will be recommending to others.
This is my go-to pho restaurant in Asheville. Having lived in Asia and Hawaii, pho is one of my comfort foods but is often executed poorly. Wild Ginger pho is delicious, consists of fresh ingredients and always comes out quickly. Each time I frequent Wild Ginger I’m seated quickly (outsideand my food never takes longer than 20 minutes to arrive. Their chicken pho is to die for, with delicious broth and yummy chicken. The rare beef and beef brisket pho is also amazing with clear broth that lacks any floating scum. If you like good food, try Wild Ginger!
Very flavorful and different. Good options for gluten free diets with clearly marked symbols on the menu. Its a small place with not much ambiance but I would definitely eat here again when in the area.
This place is way too far from the best. The food was terrible and they are very stingy with their portion. Never recommend it and never come back again. The short server with a mask was terrible at customer service. However, the blonde girl did a great job assisting us. Employees uniform stating the "best of wnc" is not the best statement to walk around with for this place. Because it aint all that. It was overrated.
If you think that this place is so tasty and good, you might need to consider to try more seasonings in your life other than salt and pepper. This place is so over rated and its disappointing. Theyre very stingy with their food. My brother ordered a spring roll and let me tell you!! That btxh look like my middle finger. Its so tiny. I do not recommend at all! If you wanna waste your money, then come to this place. Dont be fooled by the pictures thats posted on comments!
First time customer...Why didnt I know about this place before? The food was excellent...very fresh, generous portions, plated beautifully and very reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and attentive! This definitely will be on my list of "do again" places.
Really wanted to like this place as we had been hearing good things. Food was all great. Service was terrible though unfortunately start to finish. Forgot to bring us silverware, napkins, and half of our drink order. Had to go up to the counter twice to ask for the rest of our drinks. They just kept forgetting about them. Randomly brought us sake which we didnt order and didnt take, but then added it to the bill which had to be removed later. Nobody ever checked on us to see if we needed anything just put the food on the table and hurried away. Sorting out the check they got confused and ended up running my card 4 times. You shouldnt bring a bill, take my card, run it for the wrong bill, then try to fix it by running the difference (but it was still a different wrong bill!), then again run the card for the difference a third time, all before coming back to the table to tell me what is going on. Now I have a stack of receipts for dinner and I am going to have to make sure the charges all add up on my card. I am not confident. Again, the food was great but I wouldnt go back because of how frustrating the rest of the experience was.
Excellent pho and spring rolls. My friend had the pork chop and egg and it was phenomenal.
This place really hit the spot, and is a must stop for Vietnamese style food. The beef satay was extremely tender, deliciously marinated, and a very generous portion. Then the Tanghon noodles were fantastic as well; the mix of shrimp, pork, and sausage was amazing with the two types of noodles. Both dishes will leave you delightlly satiated. My only complaint is that the air was a bit smokey from the kitchen.
Absolutely delicious! My family stopped off for lunch and ordered the B2 and B3 Pho…broth was so good with so much meat! My mom didn’t want to leave any of it and took it home to eat with rice. Ask for the special homemade spicy sauce to add to pho. So wonderful!
Seated immediately, fast food service. Came in for lunch and seems I just beat the food rush. The food was delicious. Their menu has a good selection and even have some Filipino desserts ironically. Didn’t try their boba smoothies this time. But it leaves more to explore for my next visit. Would come back again.
The best Pho in the area, and the best Bahn Mi. They are often super busy which is a good sign, but its totally worth the wait. Absolutely positively delicious! Go hungry! Service is very friendly, just be patient. Amazing food is worth the wait!!!!!!!
Absolutely delicious. Service was quick, kind, and helpful navigating the menu. LOVED our ramen- one bowl is perfect for a hungry person- we had a little leftover from each bowl for take home too
There was a lengthy wait but I assumed that was a good sign. It gave us plenty of time to look over the menu. The restaurant offers semi-outdoor seating which was perfect for this time of the year. The food was amazing and I forgot to photograph most of it. Highly recommend the potstickers, green beans, and Dan Dan noodles. We will definitely be back.
Extremely slow as a pho place. Waited since 2 pm and got the table at 3 pm. Took 15 min to get the check and another 10 min for the receipt. Very arrogant waitress and shabby service. Also below average taste. Huge disappointment.
absolutely love their food! i’m obsessed with the pork yakisoba noodles and egg rolls 😍 my 6 year old is such a picky eater and he loved them too! I get 1 bowl and can split it between the both of us and still have leftovers. totally recommend.
One of my favorite spots in South Asheville with consistently good Vietnamese food. Got the house special pho without tripe. Good for two meals! Highly recommend!
Truly one of my favorite restaurants in Asheville. I visit Asheville frequently and always try my best to stop by. The food has been consistently delicious. Can’t go wrong with Wild Ginger! We’ve dined in as well as done take-out. Will definitely visit when I’m in Asheville next time.
Been here several times and the food is pretty good. The summer rolls were delish and pho was good. I love that they have 2 sizes because I Dont like leftover pho and I can also order an app without it being too much food. Prices are reasonable except boba tea, I think its 7-8$. I havent ordered because of price but would like to try it. I have been here multiple times in the last couple weeks and sometimes the broth can taste different though. Service is usually attentive unless they are really busy but they certainly try. I will keep eating here and recommend for a nice bowl of pho and Vietnamese coffee. Cant be easy in these times to own a restaurant. Keep up great work guys! Thank you for your service.
I don’t know or care what anyone else has to say about this place. I have lived in 5 major cities: San Fran, Dallas, Orlando... and I have NEVER had better Pho.I got the chicken pho and a Thai Iced Tea and they were by far the best I’d ever had.The Thai Tea was rich and creamy and so flavorful I had to be contientious not to drink it too fast. The Pho was fantastic, I always ask for extra jalapenos because usually I get skimped on the cilantro and jalapenos, but they delivered and before I even added the ingredients, I took a sip of the soup- and to say my eyes rolled back is an understatement. The broth was so flavorful and balanced- its warmth and savory, but the sweet notes of onion and the lime linger on the aroma so deicately. The large was exactly what I expected, a big bowl of “welcome home” the meat was well cooked and well portioned, and the noodles were little slurps of heaven.Let it be known this isn’t a paid review and I barely spoke with the staff- not to say they weren’t absolutey attentive, inviting and kind- my throat was just really sore and I was resting my voice.Their soup was the best medicine I could’ve gotten and I will be back many more times for this amazing meal.10 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My goodness. For the price, for the amount of food given, for the quality, this is the easiest five star Ive given yet. Amazing food!!!!The quality of the food is top notch. I would have expected to pay double for what I was eating. 😍😍I will come back for sure. However, dont do take it. In restaurant is good. Take out has been disappointing twice
Amazing food. Everything was fresh with Fresh herbs. Loved the spring rolls with fresh shrimp. Ordered the chicken pho and that was delicious with all the ingredients separated out, soup was piping hot. Ordered to go.
Great foods & great service. Excellent COVID safety protocols. The green papaya salad with the fried calamari was excellent. Taro bubble tea was tasty. Veggie pho was great. Seafood pho was just OK. Will try the beef pho next time.
Who knew I’d find some of the best pho I’ve ever had while on vacation. Came up to fletcher/Asheville area for a bachelor party. Hence the pho the next morning. Broth was superb. You know it’s good when you don’t need to add extra sauces. Would highly recommend the combination pho
Out of chance came by the Wild Ginger and havent had Pho in along time... wounderful first time... the food was amazing... cant wait for the next chance ti try other dishes on the menu...
This place is fairly small with only about 10 tables. Dont let a short wait turn you away, this place is worth the wait. The starters here are hard to choose from. The authentic spring rolls are large and filled to the brim. They come with a savory peanut sauce. The garlic chili ginger wings were fried to perfection and the sauce on them is down right delicious. The Pho here is to die for. The broth is so good! The A1 (Pho Dac Bietsoup is the most commonly ordered. If youre feeling less adventurous, you can order it without tendon and tripe. Try it! You wont be disappointed. The Thai tea and avocado boba shake are also flavorful and delicious! Sweet and tasty treats for desert. In all, Wild Ginger has some amazing authentic flavors and delicious food all around. I would definitely go back.
One of the best pho broths Ive ever had. The only thing stopping me from adding the 5th ⭐ was that they added crispy onions (I believe thats what they wereto it. We had to wait for a table and I would wait in that line again!
I have been to better Vietnamese restaurants but they seem authentic. They food tasted good and the price isnt cheap but is affordable. The customer service is as it should be.
This place is a real hidden gem. Everything Ive ever eaten here is absolutely delicious. They are normally very busy but if you have to wait its totally worth it. The restaurant is quite small but they are very accommodating. If youve never been here you owe it to yourself to stop in. Youll love it.
Love this place! The best pho in town! The flavors are great and the menu is extensive, even if you dont want soup. Seating is limited so there might be a wait. I have ordered the vegetable pho, and sometimes there are pieces of chicken in it (guessing due to a shared cooking environment). Overall though the service has been friendly and the food tasty and fresh!
Great food and friendly service, possibly the only Vietnamese restaurant in Asheville. Generous portions, and delicious full flavor seasonings.Indoor and outdoor seating. Small space with lots of tables, so can feel a little cramped when get noisy when the restaurant is full. Gluten free friendly and celiac safe menu items.
Service was great. Atmosphere in the place is busy and is more for lunch experience. Not as cozy for a dinner experience.I recommend the wings , they were really good... as well as the spring rolls. However the noodle dish was tasty as well, but not my favorite dish on the menu!! Must try it to find out for yourself.
My family and I have been visiting wild ginger ever since it was Pho R Us. Im not personally a big pho fan myself, though it is tasty, but their vermicelli rice noodle salad is a show stopper. Great blend of flavors textures and a very generous portion. Great with chicken, beef or shrimp. Their egg rolls and spring rolls are also very good. The peanut sauce for the spring rolls would be good on just about anything.
