WikiFRESH in Hilo

This was my first time at WikiFresh and definitely wont be my last. The food is fresh and so ono. I had the small bowl with the Caribbean turkey, mixed greens, steamed vegies, black beans, pineapple salsa with the pesto dressing😋🍽

Food is good and is fresh, portions are about right but if you are hungry, go for the large size. You arent overwhelmed with options and it is all good. Beef and pork especially tasty and it never seems busy. Free WiFi.

They will be out of business soon after the pizza place opened next door. Overpriced and the menu is COMPLETELY DECEPTIVE. If youre not careful you can spend twice as much on the same order if you dont order it "correctly."

I really want to like this knock off of Chipotle, but today was the last time eating there. First, the place is dirty. I thought it was a one off when I saw a roach, but after going back it’s clear cleaning is an issue (eg register area). Second, the food is inconsistent, sometimes over or under salted and bland. Lastly, it’s not fresh as indicated by my cauliflower that was obviously going bad. That was the last straw. It’s a shame because if it could deliver on the basics of what you expect it could be a good place.

A Chipotle wannabe. Black Beans were under cooked. Chicken was tasty but unusual color- couldnt tell if it was white or dark meet. It was not clear at first how many selections we could make from each category.

Food was fantastic. My wife also loved the infused water. It was busy during lunchtime, but we were able to find a table. Look forward to next visit.

Really good Asian fusion restaurant. It feels like a Chipotle but has a nice Hawaiian twist. If you havent been here before, you should definitely consider if u are in the area

Many different options available...bowls, wraps, soft tacos, nachos... Lots of different toppings to choose from. Food is awesome, always fresh. Grilled chicken is consistently flavored well. Pesto sauce is delish. Download the Five-star app to get awesome deals. Workers are awesome. Downside, sometimes there are super long lines, long wait...they do have an online ordering option on their website, however pick up time is at least 15 min after ordering.

Good, simple, fresh food. My only complaint is that its very expensive, even for just a party of 2. Almost $34 for 2 bowls.

Weve been coming to the island for a few years now, and we finally made it to WikiFresh. I didnt know what to expect, but whatever subconscious expectations I had, WikiFresh exceeded them. Basically an island version of Chipotle, their ingredients are fresh, their staff are friendly, and they have local beers on tap to complement your meal. Highly recommended.

Similar to Chipotle or Freebirds on the mainland. Wasnt very impressed with their selection in sauces and add-ons. Their vegetables could use some spices to get a better taste then bland. The last time we went, one of the workers seems as though he didnt want to be there. He barely put any quantity of the products we asked for.

Great place. The owners and staff are really involved in the community. Its like a step up from Chipotle. Love the spicy chips and guac and local draft beer on tap.

It was alright... This restaurant is like a Chipotle, with the style of Subway. The meat was pretty good, but the cauliflower and broccoli seemed old. On top of everything, it made me and my friend feel sick after. I would recommend going to some place near there like Lucys Taqueria or Ocean Sushi.

Not worth the hype or the price in my opinion. Lacking in flavor. If youre looking for something healthy just go down to whole foods there is a better selection. And if your looking for mexican food go down to reubens. You can get a huge plate of authentic mexican food for the same price as one burrito here.

Great taste and great food. Ordering reminded me of a restaurant with a pepper in its name on the mainland. Good portion size, pricing, and ordering is reasonable

I love the idea of this restaurant however they dont season the meats enough when most of the additional ingredients to the food are bland Rice, beans, etc... the meats need to be a little heavyer seasoned so when you add the bland rice it doesnt make the entire food bland.I like the food but its quite disappointing when it turns out bland the meats by themselves taste good but when you add the bland parts of the dish it makes it all bland and disappointing if they would fix that I would eat there alot but as of now its not worth the price.

My first time there, tried the regular bowl with lettuce, chicken, tomato salsa, Hawaiian chili sauce, pesto sauce, cheese and taxi sauce. I love it just enough kick, delicious. The large bowl is big.

I always love visiting WikiFresh, its been awhile but service still fantastic and food healthy and delicious.

Good food. Friendly service. Portions are okay. Price of the food is a lil pricey for us. I totally like they have free kid bowls on Sundays. Clean place.

The meal itself is of a decent proportion but you can tell there is nothjng special to the seasoning of the meat, vegatables and or condiments. I would have to say that there could be some improvement to the seating arrangments and also the chairs are uncomfortable.

The food is good but the portion is inconsistent. I do not really mind if it is a little expensive but please change your gloves often for the customer safety. Do not use the same gloves to open the door, and touch other things, especially touching your hair or face, then serve food to all customers. The gloves mean to provide clean food, not just for protecting your hands. I would come here often if the service is cleaner. It really turns us away if we have to worry about getting Hep A.

I seriously had to pull my car over on the side of the road and put the chips in my trunk so I wouldnt eat them all on the way home.Straight up delicious.🔥🔥🔥And 🍻 to the friendly staff!

Good food but a bit dirty. The tables and window counters are dirty, the tray the food was on was dirty, the forks (all facing up so everyones fingers touch the forkswas in a dirty cup in a dirty counter. When we went to wash the forks in the bathroom you get a micro shot of foam soap. All in all after we washed our forks the food was good. We will eat here again. Just hope its a bit cleaner environment.

So I ate lunch today at WikiFresh, always have, always great. But today while a natural disaster rips through our hometown of Hilo, I thought itd be safe if I ate and waited out the storm. They have covered parking. Only 2 spots were taken in an almost empty parking lot. The owners husband, he claimed to be, had no interest in my safety, only that I have used up my time in their lot. In his most threatening manner he approached me and told me he didnt care, you have to leave. Even after showing my receipt and pleading my case about the dangers of driving at this moment, with flash floods, he continued to harass me and call authorities.This is not only unacceptable, it is unethical and goes against ever the very nature of Aloha.My family was born and raised on this island, and to be treated as though I was a criminal at this moment is absolutely not acceptable. At no point was he concerned about the welfare of a regular customer.Im in the restaurant business. Have been for 30 years. Never experienced anything like this.Absolutely unbelievable the heartless people who live in this town.

Always love this place their homemade salsa are amazing! Kinda reminds me of Chipotle... But better! Fresh ingredients and great service. The facility is clean and has a very open feel to it. Highly recommend for a tasty healthier alternative.

Amazing food! They have the best bowls and a great selection of toppings, sauces and salsas. Also, try the tropical pineapple infused water. So delicious!

Yes we needed a local Chipotle rip off... but this one doesnt quite meet that. I went on their inaugural opening day and the confused workers were still figuring out the flow of things. The big glaring problem is that there are these tropical toppings that dont exactly mesh well with the other ingredients. Sure you might think a mango-pineapple salsa sounds great but it doesnt go with the meat choices and so youll get this fruit salad with odd bits of meat in your burrito.What made this place even worse in my opinion is the terrible HR practices of the owners. Hiring and firing people on the same day shows you have zero judgement and discernment in terms of how to hire people, and worse, Ive never heard a good word from any employee. They claim the owners are nasty, screaming and yelling over inconsequential things. I wouldnt want to support this place. There will probably be HR scandals coming out soon.In conclusion, this place would have been better if it was just a another link in the Chipotle chain rather than attempting to do something local so poorly, and to be terrible employers on top of that. McDonalds is a far better employer and they run Chipotle... and for someone like me to praise McDonalds in someone elses review means I think this place is the pit of hell and irredeemable.

Missing Chipotle in Hawaii? Then hit this place. Similar concept but with a Hawaiian twist! Food tastes fresh and good with some interesting choice of ingredients like hawaiian pineapple salsa and pesto sauce. Great place for a quick and tasty bite. Visit if youre in the area!

Ok food. Service was friendly, place was clean. Nothing to write home about but not horrible either.

Very good counter serve, design your own meal. Fresh ingredients, local flare. I hail from Denver Colorado where Chipotle successfully started the build your burrito concept that is gaining wide acceptance. This place honors that style and I love it.

We love WikiFRESH and visit every time were in Hilo. The variety is great and the food is fresh and delicious. Be sure to get the water infused with fresh fruit and the pinapple salsa- yum!

First time...here and any other wikifresh. Not a bad little place. A lot like a chipotle back home, but with an island twist (like pineapple salsa). Food was good. Went later in the evening so not busy either.

Great place for a healthy business meeting. Vegetarian options and I do believe they have vegan options as well. Ill take a pic of their menu the next time Im there.

Delicious local restaurant in the small town of Hilo. Get it before the lava does! Jk. Awesome quality indredients. Fresh fruit infused water. Did the veggie burrito, side of guac with the "spicy chips". Fresh and fast

Fast, healthy and delicious. I wish the serving sizes were consistent, it can vary from employee to employee. From a half full bowl, to an awesome overflowing one.

I was looking forward to grabbing some wiki fresh while back home in Hilo. Before I left they used to fill the bowls and tacos to the top. Now they are weighing their portions and using a scale, using smaller bags for their chips and everyone in line tonight asked the same thing. The guy serving only said it was managements decision. It’s just a shame because now they are getting cheap with portions. And not cutting prices down.

Fresh local produce when possible. Great happy hour and cool modern vibe. Could add same amount of beans or veggies as meat though when ordering a veggie taco.

Basically what you expect out of a make-it-yourself restaurant. They definitely did a good job of having that Hawaiian influence. The service was definitely lacking though. They seemed very nonchalant and forgot that we needed to pay.

The food was good; $18 for a burrito, chips, salsa, and a wikirita. The drink was strong in a good way. Enjoyed the salsa. The restaurant and bathroom were very clean and the staff was friendly

This place is amazing. You start with a type of meal then add all the fixings. A protein, a sauce, a salsa. There are like 5 steps. In the end you end up with a plate of exactly what you want. Perfect for families. Everyone can find, or create, something they love. Well be back for sure.

Yes, this place is the bomb; three tacos loaded to the hilt. Fresh, quick, clean and friendly. The bowls are big enough to share for a cheap date or to fill you up. If youre looking for a healthy meal on the go this is a good place to stop.

They have good ingredients and you can get a beer with your meal. You could compare this place to Chipotle. I love the different salsas!

A few months ago, I placed an order for delivery. I was extremely opinionated about their menu. I spoke my mind, harsh suggestions on pricing, as well as ingredients/condiments requiring a more refined taste. Certainty, refuses to mesh well. Hoping that I Broke the monotony, I also suggested a more requite appetizer/main course, catering audience with service not prone to be disregarded. Growth. PROfits. Im so-me. One place on my to eat at places, in Hilo.

Food was good and fresh (as the name would suggest). The salsas were great, definitely the most flavorful component of the meal. Portion sizes werent generous, but certainly reasonable. Not my newest favorite spot, but I will likely be back to try their daily happy hour!

Good food. Chips for 2 bucks seems excessive though. Would love to have an option for tofu as a protein though, as they only offer meat as proteins. Glad to have fast, healthy grinds here in town though! Will definitely be back.

Tasty mouthwatering food with fast friendly service. Try the infused water too. With lots of parking and an ample dining area, youre sure to find a seat for yourself, a couple or even a group. Highly recommended!

The pineapple salsa is so ono! Love the chicken bowl, such great food for so little money. Highly recommend this place of you are near by.

Hilos hippest new burrito and taco spot. Love the interiors and color scheme too. Great fresh offerings. Love the Salsa choices too, only thing missing from pineapple and papaya choice is Mango. Well done, Wiki Fresh.

My wife Miriam and I were so excited to try Wiki Fresh in Hilo, Hawaii. We loved the whole experience. We were greeted with a friendly welcome when we walked in. While ordering every employee smiled and helped inform us of what choices were available. And best of all our meals were tasty and fresh. Having fresh, tasty dining options are a very good thing!
