Fall destination for pumpkin picking featuring entertainment, hayrides & farm animals, plus eats.
I underestimated the size of the farm. Even though it was a Saturday it wasnt as crowded as a location in the city. There are lots of animals and and activities for all ages. I went with 3,8,11 year olds and we all had fun!
It was $35 per person older than 2 years and it doesn’t include the pumpkins and they’re $0.65 per pound! The food for the farm animals are $0.25 and the small bucket full of farm animal food was like $7! The food is a little pricey the caramel apples are $7 if you wanna feed the birds one stick is $3! The animals are beautiful and well maintained!
Went here with my then 1 year old October 23rd 2021. We took him on the hayride which he really enjoyed. I would say this is a good place for kids aged 1+. The place itself is not very big and the food is somewhat on the expensive side which is expected for these types of places but we definitely created some good memories here with our lil one and would return again. However, I assume there are many more places to visit around this time of year but our lil one had a good time. 👍
Wonderful farm, the fall festival had so many great performances. The place was well maintained and clean and the animals were so fun to interact with. My family and I will definitely be visiting again.
Had a great day. My kid loved it. Farm is big and well maintained. Animal areas seemed clean and also well maintained. The animals themselves seemed well taken care of , not sad and pathetic. Was also surprised at some of the animals thay had, like the Camels, ostrich, giraffes and monkeys/lemurs. They promote interaction and are very kid friendly. Will say the food (sweets being an exceptionwas kinda trash and overpriced. That would be the only negative. kids eat whatever tho.
Wonderful little farm/petting zoo in long Island. Went on a busy weekend but the staff did a great job keeping the parking organized. The entrance fee includes a great deal of attractions inside, only a handful of attractions require extra money. The grounds were generally clean and well maintained.A great place to spend time with the family and little kids will especially enjoy it.
I visited for the fall festival and was not disappointed! There were so many animals to see (and feed/pet!), kid-friendly activities and experiences to enjoy. We loved visiting the bird exhibit and feeding the birds (be careful; they can bite). That exhibit gets crowded very quickly, so I recommend going there first and then seeing the giraffes right after (these are the two most popular exhibits). Theres also a great playground kids will enjoy and pony rides, as well as hayrides. While the roasted corn and apple cider donuts are great, the other food options left much to be desired. There werent many kid-friendly food options for picky eaters.Bring cash (a lot of it!and arrive early, if you can. You can expect to spend at least 3-4 hours here. Enjoy!
This is our second time visiting the white post farm at Melville. Fall festival seems better in terms of more people and more activities but that prices are high. We went last summer and paid $16/an adult and now $34/adult person. But it felt good spring the afternoon with family. Weather was great and loved the hayride a lot.
Surprisingly nice experience. The door price is significant, but it’s a great experience inside and you do get your money’s worth. Unlike other places, the place is very well maintained, the staff well trained and friendly, the performances memorable (props to the magician!), and the zoo was far beyond expectations. The petting zoo is much more extensive, then animals interesting and interactive, and where else can you feed a giraffe? The food was quite good, had a reasonable selection, and amazingly wasn’t overpriced. Great place, highly recommended, and will be back!
My family visited here for the fall festival. There was so much to do. They had a animal farm where you could feed goats, cows, birds and other animals. The main attraction was the giraffe exhibit. They had a baby giraffe that was born two months ago. They also had a playground for the kids and magic show and also a mini circus. They had a ton of food to eat and also a market to buy fresh pastries and other goodies. The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful and the entire day was a lot of fun. If you enjoy a fall festival, this is the place to go
Oct 2021:First time visiting with my 3 year old. She loved it...highly recommended the farm. There is tons to do and we loved experiencing the Fall feel of the farm at this time or year. Definitely will make it a yearly tradition.Sept 2022:This farm does not disappoint and is definitely one of our fave places to visit for Fall.
Totally fun experience. Went on a school day. Very relaxed and no wait to see Oliver, Patches and Savanna. 🦒
Everything was interesting. Have a great time its the 5th time we come to this place.Great place for kids and adults.
Very entertaining! Fun for all ages. Lots to see and do. Delicious food and friendly staff.
Great place for birthdays or just to bring the kids. I have passed this place so many times and never know how large it was. There are so many animals, a train ride, and pony rides. They have rabbits, birds, camels, goats, zebras, giraffes and many more. Kids had a great time.
Kids friendly. Very clean. Staff is courteous and friendly. Clean animals, very entertaining. Had a great time.
A lot of animals, they have fresh fruits and vegetables to sell as well(organic! Lots of cute little houses and our kids enjoyed the birds and goats 🐐 ! Tickets is $25.95 and kids under 15 months is free also theres parking!!!
Had an awesome time with our grandson and daughter in law at White Post Farms! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Animals are very healthy looking. Our favorite was the giraffes and the bird enclosure. We ordered fresh food from the Cafe and ate in the court yard. Very pleasant day! Highly recommended!!
This is a very nice location to bring your little ones- Lots of animals to see and feed. I enjoyed having the parrots on my shoulders 😁 and feeding the giraffe- My daughter had a blast, from pony rides to feeding animal and the list goes on. Great experience overall but beware, the toys there are pricey🤷♀️
Great family trip out of the city with toddlers! Well maintained petting zoo including a fun magic show! Cute train track ride for the kiddies and parents fit too. Pony rides, giraffe feeding/ petting. Also a huge sandpit playground area. The marketplace has veggies and fruits and fresh baked goods, along with fresh lunch selections including salads & sandwiches. Theres 2 gift shops with plenty of tchotchkes. Theres another food option on the grounds selling go-to toddler foods like pizza, chicken nuggets, juice boxes, and ice cream bars snacks.Go and have fun!
Such a great place for all the family...Staff is knowledgeable and super friendly! Took my mom who is 72 years old and has difficulty walking. Staff helped me with a wheelchair, all areas are wheelchair accessible. The place and the animals are clean. I was told October is a great month to visit since theres many events going on then. Cant wait to go back and bring my nephews!
Wow. I am speechless. I am so upset that I gave this place any money. The conditions for the animals are horrible. They are feeding monkeys and lemurs cheerios and fruit loops and all the other animals are only fed pellets. There is no grass or greenery in any of the animal enclosures, including the aviary. The “farmer’s” market is imported fruit and vegetables. The “fresh” sushi is the same brand that is served in a college food court. Everything is all cash which is suspicious because the prices do not reflect that animal care is priority. This is not what they try to market it as. It is not a farm. There is no farmer’s market. Please learn from my mistake and DO NOT support this place.
We had such a great time at White Post Farms yesterday…especially our 3yr old daughter!Feeding the giraffe was a blast, and they have an, unexpectedly, very impressive variety of animals..The staff was helpful and the space was a lot of fun to explore. Some advice -- Bring Cash- Bring quarters- Go on a weekday morning- Buy your tickets online beforehand
So fun! Was here last spring and again this may. The giraffe was out this year when we went to it was fun to see her up close. The goats are the best pet. They’re so cute and such a fun time feeding them and seeing the babies. I do think the price has gone up several dollars from last year though :(
Went with class field trip. I wish their were a guide to show the kids the animals and answer questions. It was raining so there wasnt much we could do. But they do, in fact, have tons to do. ... just not when its raining. Their market is noce. Way over priced! And the "souvenirs" not worth it. The prices are outrageous. Still loved going though! Check out the photos!
Much better experience than most nyc zoos. Had a great time here especially with all the animals you can feed/pet and see up close. Also had great picnic area and an awesome playground for kids. Love this place. Hopefully will visit again. Make sure to take sunscreen with you 😭 i was left with a sunburn although i had applied sunscreen prior to visiting 😅 Best place for a family visit ❤️
I have been here a few times and its a fun place. If you loke animals or farm stuff this is a good place. You can feed some animals, there is a playground for kids, a gift shop and more. Highly recommended for a school trip or a family day. The staff here is very nice and accommodating. I would definitely go back.
👍👍Great Farm, mu kids love going to the birds cage to feed them. Theyll come to you, so much fun for the kids and adults. You can feed most of animals. The piny ride is very exciting for the kids. The also have a magic show. Very entertaining as well. Thumbs up 👍 price wise is great for such much fun. Its a most go place with kids.
Ive had a wonderful time at White Post Farm of Melville. I went with my son and my nephew. They were so excited to see the giraffe, zebra, horse and more. If you go there, dont forget the magic show at the end of the day, he is so humorous.
The place is much better than years ago and is very clean! The food was ok, the choices were basic hotdog, pizza, chicken fingers etc. The animals look well taken care of and the highlights were definitely the bird aviary and the store/bakery at the end. Had a great time!
Absolutely wonderful place to bring your child/children. Everything from rides to magic shows to animals and games. Our favorite things to do are the pony rides and the aviary. Everything is reasonably priced for a wonderful time. My 5 yr old loves it here. Everything from feeding the goats to watching the camels and giraffes. Cant recommend this place enough! The staff is also very friendly and helpful.
Perfect Farm, lots of Animals, intertaiment ,Playground, food space, shopping, clean oxygen, Children in Love❤️Zebras,Giraph, Ponies, Rabits, birds,Alpacas and other animals
A great place for kids of all ages. Lots of animals to see and feed if you dont mind the slobber. Will bring a smile to your face. Great family time for all with a very nice market from which you can pick up a freshly made warm pie!!!! Giraffes come out if temperature is warm enough, but opened 7 days a week.Hand washing sink station available!!! The whole family will enjoy this place!
The first time here was fun, but I would never come again because of the prices and inhumane animal loving conditionsPros: So much fun feeding a lot of animals to feed like Giraffe, aviary where the birds land on you and you feed them seeds on stick. Although it is free, I think I would rather pay to feed giraffe that is better taken care of. In Long Island Game Farm, the giraffe has room to walk and grass.Cons or criticism: The two biggest issues for me are price and treatment of the animals. White Post if you see this fix these ( see my postand this will be perfect since this place is close to home. 1 issue: mainly the overcrowding and no room for the animals. Long Island game farm and animal farm petting zoo treat the animals better by giving them a lot of ROOM and real GRASSThe zebras do not have much room to walk . It is a little sad to see huge black stonish bars, not possible to touch, they have no grass to walk on. The stable looks empty. The lemurs and monkey have ropes to climb on but they are in a room, no nature decor being fed fruit loops. The other petting zoos I went to like AFPZ or LIGF they are outside, branches, and homes to live in.It is Not Humane because there is like 30 goats in a small. In Animal Farm petting zoo there is like 10 goats in a large space. I say this because the older goats or sheep hog the food so it is difficult for the young animals to get food. I do hope that the employees regularly feed and make sure they have water. I was a little concerned for overcrowding, wish there was more space for the animals. Wish the animal pens were better cleaned. Some animals can be only looked at. It would be more comforting to get rid of the decoration houses or statues in favor for more pens so there is less overcrowding.2nd price: I think the pricing could be a bit cheaper. Its 24 dollars per person no matter the age. Wish it was like 16 for adults or like 13 for kids. For two adults and child + animal food+ food can out to around $120. Too much. The food to feed is not included, avairy should be free.Getting food buckets are better instead of putting 25 cents into a machine only for a small handful is not worth it because the money adds up.Conclusion: Overall, I had a great time. The first time experience is worth it but there needs to be more space ( my advice get rid of decoration houses and make room so less overcrowding, and make changes to the habitat/enclosure so that the animals shave more room to walk. I really want this place to be the best so much. They clearly have the money to do so and the space and I think it would not be too much of a hassle. Make the admission prices lower. They also need to make sure the animals are treated well with room to walk. If they fix these 2 things would 100 wholeheartedly endorse this place.
Upon entering the establishment me and my now fiance were welcomed by the warm and friendly staff with open arms and smiles. All the animals activities and amenities were amazing. Loved being able to experience feeding animals by hand at such a well kept establishment. Me and my fiance can tell that the animals are cared for and very happy. Enclosures are kept very clean. I want to personally think Liam in the bird aviary for recording my proposal to my fiance. I couldnt be happier with my experience and want to think White Post Farm for me and my fiances special day. November 7th 2021 an amazing day to remember at White Post Farms. Will definitely be coming back.
This place is huge mostly outdoors and Amazing!! They have LEMURS!A bit pricey, must have cash on hand and quarters for the food to feed the animals.Expect to spend at least $25.00 per person including children. The farmers market section is nice. In my opinion its $$$ but worth it if you spend many hours there.
Ok where should I start the drive here was good from entering this farm there was a lot of parking very very large place. When you are entering there is a store and a fresh organic farm store that sells fresh produce also the store sells all kinds of toys decor for fall Christmas etc. very farm like also from the moment you enter the farm u can smell the animals which it’s a farm so that’s ok. You will see lots of animals like cows, goats, sheep, birds, monkeys, cows, camels, alpacas, pony’s,and more you get to feed almost all of the animals and kids gets to ride the pony and feed the giraffe , free hayride, pumpkin patch and more fall festivities which is fun for all to enjoy. We definitely had a blast and will definitely go back. You have to pay for kids 16 months and above for 22 and change which is definitely worth the experience so definitely go check this out.
This place is just awesome. Endless fun for children and grownups. It has a zoo, petting zoo, many show like magic show, dog shows, pony rides. Hay ride and an awesome playground with mini houses, many slides. We went for pumpkins but we didnt expect all this. My kids cant wait to go again i I could I would give it a 10 star
Wow totally unexpected surprise. Came to this place for some pumpkin picking fun and had no idea about all the other amazing entertainment and fun. A petting zoo with so many cool and interesting animals. Even Giraffes and monkeys!!!Highly recommend this for every parent and even a fun date with that special someone. Love this place can’t wait to go back.
Nice place to visit! My 22 month old son had so much fun!I took one star off because its cash only business during the weekdays. They also charge entrance fees on people from the age of 16 month old and up. The entrance fee is a bit expensive but there are a lot of things to enjoy as a family! We had a great time!BTW, the $25 apple pie was okay. Nothing special.
Who knew we could feed giraffe on Long Island???? Although its about $22 to get in pp, it is really well worth it! We go to all the Zoos and Aquarium s, this was really a lot of fun! Up and close to Zebras, spider monkeys, having birds fly to you and hand feeding them...it was such a great day! Really, it is so worth it! And to hand feed the Giraffe, it brings out the kid in you! Plenty of umbrellas tables for eating and a good food area serving hot dogs, burgers and fries and chicken fingers.(dont get the pizza)..there is a ton to eat and do!
What a fun place!!!!! Whoever came up with this idea needs a medal!!!!! Went there on a weekend, the place was packed, but even so it wasnt crowded, the farm is pretty big and the weekend ticket includes almost all of the attractions and shows, except for the pony ride and feed for the animals. Their Landing birds part was absolutely endearing with those little parrots landing right on your head to enjoy the food. My daughter loved feeding animals( giraffes, Brahman cattle, goats, sheep, miniature cows, miniature horses, ponies, zebras, monkeys),loved her pony ride and the Texan Family show, that included dog show and we didnt even do a few other things, like the hay ride, puppet show, magician show and painting pumpkins, which is definitely something for the next time. The only downside is okay food, which is overpriced, but thats how it usually is in any place of fun.
The only thing is it is overpriced , but there are many options for kids and family fun, including hay ride, pony rides, can feed parrots goats cows and more, a good zoo with giraffes and zebras and camels; different playgrounds and big houses for pretend play, kids shoes and entertainment. But I wish at least for food they wouldnt only ask for cash which comes out with tax. What theyre selling is overpriced
Nice little farm. Great fun for kids. I feel like the farm had a lot more to it but seems like part of the farm was closed. The pony ride was good fun. A little rushed because the pony wanted to walk pretty fast but the kids still enjoyed it. The monkeys, lemurs and birds were fun to watch and interact with. All in all the kids loved it. Good for a day visit 👍
Beautiful experience we had so much fun the entrance fee is $22 Try to be there when they open and you’re going to enjoy so much more feeding the birds and the animals because after around 12 they are full and won’t be as hungry😊 we will definitely be back ❤️
Such a fun place to spend a family day. You get to feed different animals, go a train ride, pony ride, also the magic/comedy show. My son enjoyed his day at White Post Farms.
Omg what an amazing new experience! This is a great place for families, couples, friends and of course children. The price for the ticket is good and worth it! You don’t have to be a kid to come here lol. I am 26 and I went here with two of my friends. I haven’t been here since I was 4 years old so of course I don’t remember what it was like. So many animals and so many fun things to do here! My concern was a limit with the food lol. So many people feed them that I wonder if it can make them sick from over eating. A lot of the workers were nice and friendly, very welcoming. I liked the gift shops and the farmer’s market was great. My only complaint is a young woman working the register at the farmer’s market was rude and rushed. I definitely will be back!
It was fun considering the 95°F weather. I worried that the animals werent properly hydrated but I hope that they care for the animals. Feeding a giraffe was amazing and having birds land on your was crazy cool.
Amazing place for both the kids and the parents. This farm really allows you to interact with the animals. You are able to feed them and even have your child enjoy a small pony ride. There are many playgrounds that the little ones can run around and play in as well. Inside, they have a giraffe where they allow every individual to freely feed it a slice of carrot. Only downside is that many parts of the farm were closed when we went. We were unable to see the magic show and none of the food stands were open. And a word of advise before going is to make sure you bring cash because they do not accept credit cards. But overall, a great place to take the kids!
Great Place. Felt like a zoo but way better because you can feed the animals. We fed goats, and parrots and Giraffe. The parrots were so friendly. I literally had 7 of them on my head and shoulders just nibbling at my hair. Great place for the kids and they do bdays also.
