White House Motel in Petersburg

My friend and I were just handing out bag lunches. But this hotel and a couple of the other ones have always been a help to friends that I knew that were out on the streets when they were looking for a room for shelter. Theyve got some great deals here. So thanks for helping my friends when they needed it and everything else you do in the community

My family was trying to get settled down with our newborn son. They had the toilet already clogged and refused to fix it or give a proper refund. The toilet was a health code violation. Will be reporting this place tomorrow morning.

SPIDER ALERT!! Checked into the room as a last minute option and upon inspecting the room was pretty nice as far as lay out. Looking under chairs and stuff there were a lot of dead beetles which was a sign that they sprayed but they did not recently vacuum. When I swung back around to the main door there was a spiderweb connected from the door to the chair with a Black Widow in it! didnt even know that was possible!! I hit it several times with the bug spray as he brushed it off like it was water before he succumbed. Then I killed the smaller less threatening spider in the corner above the door. The next day on checkout, there was a large Wolf Spider waiting waiting at my door seal trying to get in, I guess he booked the room next. No bed bugs were noted nor roaches. Location wise, it a was quiet and no shady activity around.HELPFUL TIP: Bring strong can of spray mainly for spiders and if staying longer than a day, the spray that creates the invisible bug border. Some rooms you might have to stuff a towel at the bottom of the door due to the poor sealing at the bottom.Last minute update: See somebody open the door after I checked out so they can clean the room and the door has been opened for 20 minutes now with no cleaning crew around. And the big Wolf spider that I did spray (possibly dead but the guy doesnt knowis right in the front and he didnt try to shoo it away. Yeah, him and his friends will be in there in a minute

Was here with my husband and the room is infested with ants, the pillows are so old and flat that I bought my own. Housekeeping staff was friendly. Office staff was rude and my key only worked for several hours. I guess overall its okay for the purpose we were there, but this is not somewhere I would choose to stay on my own.

Good place

Been here 2 months paying 55 a night. So this morning was checkout at 11and I came over to girlfriend s room she paid for 2nights and they trying to charge me 55 more dollars after I checked out

People were nice, just not a great area.

The White House Motel is a terrible place to stay. The rooms are poorly sealed, which allows critters, including Wolf Spiders,in. The AC units leak every time theres rain. The electrical wiring is shorting out, and it is from the 1970s. The internet is constantly going out. The cable T.V. keeps glitching out at least three times a day. Bed bugs are a severely bad issue as well in every room. The manager is very rude & aggressive. The owner doesnt do anything to fix these problems for months at a time. DO NOT STAY AT THIS MOTEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Staff are very helpful and friendly.rooms are very large and clean ,excellent Wi-Fi,outside is kept very clean.the price is very worth the rooms.staff is very accommodating.location is good,rooms are kept very clean.excellant excellent refrigerator and microwave. No bugs. Routinely have a exterminator come in weather they need it or not.

I have spider webs in my room it smells like mildew the Lampshades and sink are broken theres two huge water stains above each bed this place is disgusting do not recommend

Clean, new furniture, big TV with plenty of channels and a comfortable bed. Staff was out every morning sweeping the parking lot. Had a nice brief conversation with a polite man cleaning rooms. I will stay here again.

Delivered what they promised! Nothing wrong, all went well. 4 stars is the best I can give them; low end!

Dont judge the book by its cover it is a really good place respectable people run it and they will take care of you with any problems would recommend

Actually not bad at all. Very nice front desk. Clean room. Larger room than some of the pricey rooms. Tiny discomforts like horrible tv remote and 1 centralized ice machine which are not really major drawbacks, just slight very slight inconveniences. Overall, nnot a bad place to board.

Nice people, and not ridiculously priced. The place is old but the owner makes SURE to fix any problem you may have and if he cant he makes provisions to make his customers happy!

Great staff, clean, smoking rooms, non smoking rooms, $50.00 a night love the king size rooms. I stayed for four days. Great and peaceful place!

It was loud, LOTS of illegal activity-especially at night! Room infested with bed bugs!! Management sprayed room, but would not move our room. Horrible experience!

Well I stay here every so often to get away from home. Normally there rooms arent bad. I asked for non smoking room due to my child and clearly there was open non smoking rooms but the person gave me a smoking room. The room that was appointed to me first thing I see was the huge burn hole threw the blanket. The head boards arent there but the 2 by 4s are. Thirdly. I just watch cartoons so I go to the tv turn to Cartoon Network and to behold me was channel not available. Tried what I could do and couldnt figure it out. So i call up to the front desk for assistance and sure enough they couldnt do anything for my problem.. So I try to find anything on the 30 channels and there wasnt anything so I call back up to the front desk to see if they could re room my family and I or switch out my T.V and the desk clerk said that they couldnt do that. But I have a tablet so we get over it. Hours later I go to the mini fridge for a soda and would you know it still warm.When I get a room I normally check for bed bugs I so far havent found any but I find little blood stains all over the sheets plus random hair?!?! So after tonights experience I wont be staying here any longer

The rooms were decent. But, the neighborhood isnt that great and the staff wasnt really polite. But, that can be a result of the area its located.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE>>>Bed Bugs..roaches...broken bed...nasty blankets...complained..and no refunds....I would rather sleep in my car in 100 degree weather after seeing this place and trying to fight to get my $ back-NO signs that say No refund...

Christine must be a friend of the family bc the place is a dump. I stayed a week in 3rooms they had to keep moving me because of the bed bugs. No, Ive never had them in my life and if you want proof theyre there, you look under the boxspring on the floor all the shells are there.

I was done when I saw the female roach with an egg sack hanging out her body. I asked for another room and the owners wife said she would talk to husband. They never got back to me. I went to another hotel for the night, even though I paid them for a week. Smh!

This is a great place to stay. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The bed was large and inviting and made for a good nights sleep. The staff was very friendly and helpful and made me feel very welcome. I have stayed twice so far and plan to stay again in the future

Im so sorry these people had such a bad experience. My husband and I stayed at the White House Motel and were very satisfied, indeed. The first room we checked did have a smoky smell but they were happy to change our room to a lovely appointed and very clean room. This is not your generic chain motel so I expect to find flaws but found none. This is a family run motel and the family was very accommodating. The grounds were like walking through a botanical garden. Simply lovely. Included in the $40 per night price (including 17% taxwas free internet access, free phone use, and cable TV with HBO. Oh, and I must mention the GREAT Bar-B-Q place across the street. I posted their information on facebook and Im writing this review because I travel frequently and want to let people know when I find a hidden gem. The White House Motel is a hidden gem.

Besides the cockroach crawling across my bed, the musty ash tray smell, the cigarette burns everywhere in my "non smoking" room, the front door that wouldnt lock, and the neighbors laughing and hollering all night......not too shabby!
