Lovely couple of pints very friendly service will go again next time for a meal because what i saw looked very good 👍👍👍.

The lady behind the bar is lovely and efficient. They have a large menu and this is well priced. We had a long wait for our main course but this was due to somebody stealing a member of staffs phone and the staff dealing with that. The lady that served our food was very apologetic and offered us free drinks. We thought that was a lovely touch and we declined as it wasnt necessary.The chips were gorgeous and home made . The peas were cooked well. For £5.95 you couldnt go wrong really. The only thing was last time we came the chicken goujons we out of this world. This time they were like supermarket frozen goujons so I was a little disappointed but for the price what could I expect?! I would rather pay more and get the battered goujons though.All in all a lovely place to visit and we will be back

A nice beer garden to catch last few rays before sunset

We live 5 minutes walk away from the pub. Last time we went was well before Covid and they didnt have many items on the menu. This happened more than once so we avoided it. So glad we gave it another try yesterday. 11 of us went for lunch. We all had different things and every plate was clean! Food was home made, well cooked and hot. It all came out together. Chips were home - cooked and aamazing! I thought the prices were very good too. Staff were friendly too. Well be returning soon.

Lovely pub. Great staff. Old Mill brewery beers. Beware the menu descriptions. Beef burger with fries and coleslaw, actually had bacon on it.

Visited after a 3 month absence overseas. Very disappointed as it seems to have lost its cheap and cheerful atmosphere. Under new owners/ management in the last 6 weeks. Prices of drinks have increased. 5 people turned away looking for food on a very hot Sunday afternoon at 5.30pm. Will it survive????

Very disappointed this time landlords have changed and the chefs have gone. ..we will go back when they get it sorted.

I got Hunters chicken, it was tasty but overcooked. My wife had fish and chips, which was OK.

Menu choice is excellent and prices are very reasonable.We will definitely be returning.The Landlord Matthew really makes you feel welcome.We travelled 30 minutes to get there as our friends had been last weekend and said we had to try.Well worth the journey.Excellent quality, service and price.

Only dropped in for coffees but decided to stay & have a wine, all very reasonably priced. The food that we saw looked good so we checked out the menu & will definitely be going back to eat.

The food was all homemade and so tasty. The staff were really friendly and polite. We had a 3 course Sunday lunch for £12.50. Its such great value for money. Its well worth the visit.

Went for lunch with friends, we were welcomed in from the moment we walked through the door, the lady behind the bar was fantastic, great banter, we all got different meals, everything was lovely, nice to go somewhere and everyone enjoy their meal, would definitely recommend, will be trying their Sunday lunch ASAP.

It was very quiet when we called. The barman was helpful and told us to order our food at the bar. The food was okay but nothing special, my chicken was overcooked and my wifes scampi was really well done!!!!!

A lovely pub. Amazing staff, delicious and reasonably priced food. We had liver and onions and Chile con carne, I only wish there would be a larger selection of real ales. Theres always a blonde and a bitter on which is nice though. Highly recommended for a bite to eat and a drink while in the area!

Popped in for a Sunday lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the service and food. Highly recommend the 3 courses for £12.50 which is excellent value for money. Will endeavour to return at the earliest opportunity.

Ive been here many times..With husband, with kids, friends.. Each time i have been made equally as welcome. The wit and sarcasm is just up my street. I personally feel like I could go in on my own and know theres someone to chat to.. oh..And although Im "pre 50s" I (and my husbandboth LOVE the Liver and onions..Good old fashioned scran in good surroundings..With a premier pint taboot 👍👍

Would thoroughly recommend visiting the garden centre for great gifts, Christmas decorations and homewares. The Orangery has good coffee and delicious food with excellent customer service, well worth a visit. Thank you Clare

Food is OK, I had the burger and it didnt taste of anythinf. However the chicken burger, and omelette was lovley.So we called again on Saturday 11th September. The place was empty but told no table. Obviously because the Manager or whoever he is heard me say he was a miserable sod. He is, never smiles, not helpful and can be rude at times. Their loss, if they can afford to loose £45/50 good on him. We went to the Star up the road. Fantastic foid, great service and very friendly smiley staff. Wont be going to the White Gate again.

Attended here while at work for dinner, the service was great food was piping hot and fresh. I had surf and turf steak was cooked perfect , beer was ice cold.The lady behind the bar was great and the chap there was polite and made sure we had everything we needed great service.Next time I visit Ill be taking the family.

Had lunch here with my niece.Meal was okay although scampi was slightly overcooked.Feel like it could do with a good spruce up as was looking a bit tired inside pub.Lovely flowers and pleasant outside.

Very nice proper pub the scampi was delicious served with ample home made chips and peas. Plenty of choices and cater for all friendly staff will go again

A relaxing catch up chat drink(swith a friend. A great pint of bitter and only £3. Plus a friendly and entertaining Landlord thrown in!! Will definitely return.

Amazing food, friendly service

3 course Sunday lunch for 10.95 was good choice personally i would have liked more roast potatoes as I only got two small ones and the Yorkshire pudding to be home made but that’s my personal preference. Was very good value for money. The landlady was lovely and friendly will definitely go again

Friendly staff, lovely food , cosy environment. But £4.35p for a pint of moretti not good.

Under new management and the new owners are a lovely couple. Tasty food, great atmosphere, dog friendly & child friendly. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Its a really nice place to go for a quiet drink or a meal and its very reasonably priced indeed.

Great food , and a real fire to warm up on a cold day .
