Whispering Pines Covered Wagon Resort in Parowan
Description
Love this place. They offer so many fun activities besides sleep accommodations. We loved the volleyball, horseshoes, axe throwing, soccer on the lawn and the campfires. The zip line was incredible. The scooter tour was amazing. We highly recommend staying here.
MoreWhat a unique addition to our trip to Zion. The wagon was so cool. The accommodations were very clean and we had a bathroom to ourselves! Also don’t forget about the heated beds! Would stay again.
MoreWe had a great 2 nights here. Everything was clean and as advertised. Rob and Christy were friendly and helpful.
MoreMy wife and I as well as our eight-year-old twins truly enjoyed our four nights at Whispering Pines. Our hosts went the extra mile to ensure that we loved every minute of our stay. We heartily recommend Whispering Pines!
MoreGreat location. If you need to take a break from Zion, this place has plenty of activities within the site and it also provides a very peaceful and relaxing experience at the same time.
MoreMy family and I stayed here for a family reunion. There is so much to do for kids, mine were sad to leave. Even though it rained every day we were there, the cabins kept us warm and dry and having our own bathrooms to use was a big plus. There was also a propane heater that kept us comfortable under the pavilion. My kids enjoyed the stream, swings, trampoline, zip line, ax throwing, and playing with the cat and making graves for the chipmunks he caught. If our family doesnt get too big by the time its my turn to plan our reunion, we will most definitely visit again.
MorePerfect for our family adventure! We had a last minute change of plans and wanted to have a memorable place to stay instead of another hotel. We were able to zip line (at extra cost), axe throw, relax in the hammocks, and jump on the trampoline. The covered wagons were heavenly for a chilly night (50ish degrees Fahrenheit). They had heated blankets and a heater/air conditioner in the wagon. You have your own private bathroom in the bath house. I was so glad that they accepted one night visits as that was all we had time for this trip. I would highly recommend Whispering Pines!!
MoreWe really had a great night. Wish we could have stayed longer, but this was the perfect location between both Zion and Bryce Canyon. Our party of 4 had everything we needed and then some, love the trading post idea and meeting Christy was a bonus. We would definitely love to come back when we’re in this area and stay a few more nights.
MoreThese covered wagons are perfect for a family. All the joys of camping with the conveniences of camping in your front yard. We loved the amenities, the private bathroom (with running waterand the hammocks and grill. We will definitely be back. This is 100% great for family road trips and getaways.
MoreWe had a wonderful time at Whispering Pines. The wagons are very comfortable and the private bathroom is very nice to have. The fire pit, picnic table, and grill are in perfect condition and easy to use. The grounds have activities sprinkled about them and feels safe to let the children wander and play. The beds and the sheets are extremely comfortable. The air smells so clean and like fresh pine.
MoreThis place exceeded all our expectations! After several weeks on the road, in many different accommodations, this was a family favorite. The setting is incredibly peaceful, the owners very kind, the accommodations comfortable and all the details are covered. We cant wait to visit again!
MoreWe loved our one-night stay in Wagon #5. Get there as early to check-in because you can then enjoy all the fun activities they offer. Clean, comfortable wagons, bathrooms were too. Beautiful surroundings and hospitality.
MoreWow, really exceeded everyone’s expectations. The location is perfect, weather is cooler that Zion area, amenities were great and all the little activity areas kept the kids busy. I will definitely return for a longer stay!
MoreHad such a wonderful time experiencing sleeping in a wagon the kids completely enjoyed it as well. We all enjoyed the activities outside and the kids just loved how Harley welcomed us when we arrived. We can’t wait to come back again next year.
MoreMy family had a wonderful evening at Whispering Pines and really wished wed had a second night there. The covered wagons are amazing, everything was very clean and we loved having our own designated bathroom at the bathhouse. There are so many fun little activities for the kids to do around the property too. Weve already recommended this location for friends traveling through the area next year. Wed absolutely stay again!
MoreAs a family of 6, with kids ranging from 2-10, this experience was definitely worth it. We stayed 2 nights, and there was enough activities around the campsite to keep us busy. There was something for every kid to do, and the wagon was incredibly comfortable. We loved the private bath, and the extra amenities (pots, pans, trading post snacks, and laundrywere a blessing if we had forgotten something. The owners came out and greeted us with a warm smile and extra help if we needed anything. The whole family was incredibly nice! Weve already recommended Whispering Pines to friends and family!
MoreWhispering Pines is a one of a kind getaway for those who love nature and camping, but would also like a comfortable bed to sleep in each night after a rigorous day of hiking and sightseeing. My partner and I spent 8 nights here while visiting Zion And Bryce Canyon national parks. The property is tucked just off of an easily accessible roadway situated right between each destination about 45 minutes from either). We enjoyed a fire every night and cooked our meals on the grill, played at horseshoes and corn hole and hatchet throwing during our down time after the parks. Daily hot showers in our private bathroom in the bathhouse, and midweek laundry kept us fresh and comfortable throughout our adventure. Heated mattress pads on the king sized bed (one for each sidein our adorable covered Conestoga wagon kept us warm and snug on cold nights when the temperature sometimes got down into the 30s. The owners, Christy and Rob, their oldest son Brycen and the manager Kelsie were all very friendly, welcoming and helpful during our stay. They have an incredible attention to detail here and truly thought of all the little things we could want for on this type of trip. I’d 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for a wonderful and comfortable (and quite uniquestay while visiting southern Utah. Many thanks!!
MoreWhispering Pines is absolutely the best place to stay. It’s so peaceful, and every amenity is available. This is glamping at its finest. The beds were very comfortable, and we definitely appreciated the bed warmers and space heaters during our 30-40 degree nights. Each wagon has its own bathroom located not too far away with all the basic toiletries and amenities you’d find in a hotel. But, at WP, you also get a fire pit, propane grill, propane burners, and a hammock! Tops a hotel any day. There’s also a trampoline, hatchet throw, swings, and zip line. The owners are very friendly and super helpful. We were there 3 nights, and it just wasn’t enough. None of us wanted to leave, and we all hope we can make it back to UT some day just to stay here again. Just book it - you won’t regret it!
MoreWe loved staying here. The minute we pulled onto the property the kids couldn’t wait to get out. It was a great adventure for them! The wagons were super clean and had everything you’d need. Loved having a private bathroom, also. The decor was beautiful. We can’t wait to come back!
MoreWe recommend this to anyone, dont hesitate!! A perfect spot for a wonderful 2 night stay. We really enjoyed the covered wagons! Beds are very comfortable, fridge worked well, heaters kept the chill off, and they are very sturdy. The grills work very well and the fire pit was a nice and relaxing after a day of hiking. The bathrooms are very nice, well kept, and have all the necessities. We loved the Trading Post! Its like a little store right onsite. We thought the take some leave some was a GREAT idea. Very quiet and peaceful. We didnt get to meet the owners but saw them from a distance and knew they were right there if we needed anything. Was nice that they are between Zion and Bryce Canyon. The diary in the cabin is a wonderful idea, enjoyed reading the experience of others and found Aunt Sues Chalet in Duck Creek because of it! Very good breakfast! If we are in the area we will definitely stay again!
MoreWhen I told my husband we were going to be staying in a covered wagon, he looked at me like I was crazy! But he was willing. The wagon was wonderful! Super big - enough for a king sized bed and a set of bunkbeds. Also a chair, lamp, heater, A/C unit, refrigerator, and microwave. In addition to that, there were so many special touches! There was a pitcher of water and some ice in the ice tray for us. There is a heated mattress pad, so when the temperature went down to 27 degrees, that was super nice. Plus each wagon has its own private bathroom with shower in the bathhouse! (and a heater in there, tooWhat a great idea. Theres also a propane BBQ and fire pit for each wagon. We loved every minute of it there! Thank you Rob and Christy for all the special touches and fun activities. We did the axe throwing - that was super fun! It is a great place all around, and if we come back to this area, we will definitely plan to stay again!
MoreWhispering Pines was such a unique and fun place to stay. We loved the hospitality and amenities the wagon included. Their general store is such a great addition and we loved our time there. If we’re ever traveling the area again we will return!
MoreA wonderful experience at whispering Pines, people were friendly and helpful. Room and restroom are super clean, the heated mattress really worked well. Our kids really enjoyed and wants to go back again soon. Lots of activities on site too, its the safe place for kids to play while I am enjoying the nature. Will go back there again for sure.
MoreMy hiking group and I made a trip to this area to hike in Utah and Arizona. This location couldnt have been more perfect for easily getting to Zion and Bryce Canyon national parks, as well as Kanab (and many other great places; we just didnt have the time!). Whispering Pines was just gorgeous, and Rob and Christy seemed to have thought of everything you could possibly need or want! I loved the scenery driving in to our wagon every evening and enjoying a campfire under the pines. The wagons themselves were so cozy and comfortable—again, they thought of everything you could possibly need and provided it. Im amazed at how well they maximized the space. The bathrooms/bathhouse were also really nice; I felt spoiled to be able to take a hot shower every night after a long day of hiking out in the sun and sand. I really cant say enough good things about it! Im already hoping to bring other friends and family out on future trips!
MoreWe got there at night and it was very dark, but Rob and Christy sent very detailed instructions on how to get there and which wagon it would be. We went towards the end of October so it was a bit chilly but there are 3 heaters to use and all the beds had warming mattresses. We turned on they heat pads immediately when we arrived and it was nice and toasty when we went to bed. The private bathroom was very clean and had everything we needed (towels, shampoo, body wash). If you need to do laundry, it’s also right there (detergent available). I think it was only $5 to wash/dry. Picnic table, fire pit, chairs outside. My son (9enjoy wandering around the grounds looking for various kids things to do. The owners are really pleasant. Overall, a wonderful experience and we would highly recommend this place if you going between Zion and Bryce.
MoreThis was an amazing trip. The location of the wagons could not have been better, equally between Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks. Everything was well stocked and we will definitely be back. My son loved all the games and activities outside.
MoreThe wagons were unbelievable. They were clean, neat, well decorated and designed. The grounds were just as amazing. Rob’s vision and accomplishments are to be commended. We joined Rob, his family, and friends for musical and vocal entertainment one night. I would highly recommend this adventure to anyone. Thank you Rob and family.
MoreThis getaway was so PERFECT I cant even begin to explain how wonderful it was!!! The wagons were fantastic, the restrooms were immaculately clean. My family and I loved having so many things to do around the area. Axe throwing was by far the most popular activity. Weve already begun making plans on a return trip and look forward to seeing this place again really soon.
MoreSuch a fun place between Zion and Bryce, about 45 minutes to each park. Kids enjoyed all the activities from ax throwing to volleyball to the many hammocks, even had deer drinking from the stream behind our wagon when we woke in the morning, so cool! A little hard to find at night, its very dark out there, but great communication from owners helped us find it. Kids loved Harley too!
MoreThis place is magical!! Glamping heaven! It was the perfect place to stay. So unique! The the beds in the wagon were so comfy. The a/c was great with the heated blankets 😆 The bathrooms were amazing! To have your own private one you could lock when away. They also have a trading post that offers different things that you can purchase. They had a whispering pines mascot Harley the dog. We grow very fond of him during our stay. He was so sweet. They also had lots of things to do around the sites. Tractor zip line, swings, axe throw, fairy tree, and many other things to do and play so great for kids. It was so close to Bryce Canyon and a little bit further to Zions which was awesome. We really enjoyed our stay and soo glad we found this place.
MoreMy husband and I were going on a vacation to Phoenix Arizona and on the way there we found this cute resort that you can stay in and it was so much fun. Its called Whispering Pine covered Wagon. I definitely recommend for familys, couples or anyone to come to this place! Its so relaxing and fun because they do have some cute activities you can do as well it doesnt get boring. Also, they have bathroom, mini fridge, microwave, ac and heater!Thank you for the great experience 😀Ps, the doggie (Harleythat lives there is so adorable 😍 ❤
MoreLOVED IT! Only wish we had more time to enjoy the property and amenities. We stayed for 2 nights, between our trips to Bryce and Zion. A nice quiet secluded location between the two parks. This was our first “glamping” experience and weren’t quite sure what to expect, despite reading all the reviews. (The 5* reviews were spot on). Private lockable bathrooms allowed us to leave our toiletries and towels in the bathroom. Being able to do our laundry after our hot and dusty hikes was so nice - and no need to worry about laundry supplies - all was available and included in the more than reasonable fee. Units were large capacity LG front loaders that are kept in great condition (no funky smells in the front loader washer). LOTS of outlets (kids were worried about limited outlets to charge all their devices). Heating pads kept the beds warm, while in wagon heater/AC, allowed us to keep the indoor temp as we wanted. Microwave, coffee maker, and small refrigerator (with separate freezer compartment - we were able to freeze water bottles to use as ice packs for our park visits). There were many other amenities - grill (along with supplies and tools necessary to grill meals), pots/pans to borrow for use, trails, hatchet throws and many more - that we were unable to take advantage of because we were busy at the parks and returned late each night and departed early each morning. Rob and Christy were super responsive, but unfortunately we didn’t have the pleasure to meet them in person. Would definitely return if we are ever in the area. (Cell signal (T-Mobile/Verizonwas non-existent for us, except on the iPad, and there was no WiFi in wagon, but hosts generously welcomed visitors to use theirs, by their cabin).
MoreMy family and I had a blast here. It was beautiful , the wagons are huge with plug ins and heaters. There are so many things to do : big and little zip lines, swings , Hatchet throw, horseshoes, volleyball , large green areas , there is a common area and even a fairy tree. So much attention to detail. I 100% recommend and will be back with friends:)
MoreWe stayed for a family reunion. We loved the peaceful setting, comfortable beds, games and activities, and the fantastic wagons. The bathrooms are much nicer than you’d expect in this setting. We are more the camping type, but didn’t mind having the extra creature comforts for a few nights.Absolutely perfect for a family reunion that satisfies everyone!
MorePerfect location between Bryce and Zion NP. Tucked off the road so you feel immersed in the beauty of the area. Property was so charming with thoughtful touches around every corner. SO CLEAN and so many niceities to make your stay comfy. Wagons were surprisingly cozy. Almost dont want to leave a review so I dont have to compete for reservations in the future!
MoreNice little spot to stay. Great location about halfway in between Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park. The wagon was surprisingly spacious and very nicely furnished. The bathhouse was very nice, too. We unfortunately didnt have time to use the fire pit or any of the on-site activities, but we loved our stay here.
MoreUnbelievable experience for my wife and children. We only stayed two nights and wish we were there for a few more nights. By comparison, we also stayed at two Under Canvas properties and, though we have nothing bad to say about them, this was, by far, my families favorite property! Thanks for being great hosts!
MoreA destination in and of itself! So so clean, great laundry options and gift shop, welcoming family, and a super special place! This places books out so reserve early. Our kids were in heaven with the hatchet throwing, trampoline, and badminton. We didn’t see our kids for several hours, which was perfect! :-We went to Bryce and Zion and I think this easily beats them both! Don’t over plan while staying here so that you can enjoy all it has to offer! Oh and don’t forget to bring your own food!!
MoreI wanted to take the time to thoughtfully review our stay at Whispering Pines. Not only is it a friendly, intimate setting well off the main road, it is family oriented, beautifully maintained and it was our pleasure to be there. The owners, Robert and Christy are engaging, friendly, and we thoroughly enjoyed seeing their children involved with the "family business". While we were traveling without children; it was a pleasure to see young "Lilly" showing off the Fairy Tree to other young guests. (She will make a great Activities Director someday. The other children were helping out wherever needed. And where else can you enjoy deer drinking from the pond as we had our morning coffee; what a peaceful and a great start to the day. The amenities are more than expected, and greatly appreciated. Having our own private facilities were a plus. The location is great; being nestled between Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park. I suggest staying multiple days so you can enjoy the "glamping" experience, the hospitality of the hosts and the beauty that is Whispering Pines.
MoreLoved our stay! Very cozy with the heater and mattress warmers, plenty of sockets to keep everything charged, nice private bathrooms, locking doors, and overall a lovely place to be. Not too many wagons, so it felt isolated and peaceful. Very responsive hosts. Would stay again!!
MoreMy husband and I can not say enough about this wonder place. I ran across it by accident when I was searching for glamping places and so glad I did. It is a great little place nestled between Zion and Bryce. We planned to stay only one night because we were on our way to Moab from Bryce but decided to stay 2 nights instead. Great decision. It was nice to see people outdoors disconnecting from electronics. Listening to kids playing and parents watching them having a great time. The Barrick family is great and we loved talking with Christy. Our wagon was so nice and cozy. I loved having our own private bathroom in the bathhouse. Being able to do laundry is a bonus too (the fee includes soap and dryer sheets). There is so much to see. Great outdoor decor, the Fairy Tree, kids activities, hatchet throw for adults and more to come I am sure. Loved listening to the stream that they made. You can tell that a lot of thought, hard work and love was put into making this a wondering place. And the bonus part for me was meeting Harley. I missed my furbabies so he gave me the doggy loving I was missing.
MoreWe really loved the location between Bryce and Zion National Parks. The wagons served as a cool adventure for the whole family and it was awesome to enjoy some time around the camp fire. Rob and Christy’s family add to the charm of the place as they’re extremely kind and our kids enjoyed playing on the trampoline with their little ones. We stayed during a cold spell (temps in low 20s and snowin mid-April, so would just urge others to pack warm clothes for the early morning shock of getting out of bed and hats to sleep in for those who don’t like to cover their head under the blanket (the mattress heaters work well).
MoreThe 5 stars are well deserved! The host family is the nicest!! Loved their campfire show! It was the first one of the season and we all clapped and cried! My kids LOVED Whispering Pines. The zip line and fairy garden were big hits. In fact while we were at the national parks, they kept asking when we could go back to the wagon to play with the friends they had met! We got to be good friends with another family and it was so fun to share a fire with them and the lawn was perfect for our glow in the dark bocce ball game. Stayed 4 nights and it was a great spot between Zion and Bryce! Also check out Red Canyon and the Belly of the Dragon cave hike.
MoreAmazing retreat in the middle of Zion and Bryce Canyon. This is the perfect spot to take your family. The hosts were extremely accommodating and make your stay feel like you are in a luxury hotel. There are plenty of activities for kids to keep them occupied from a zip line, trampoline, and old school Nintendo. The bathrooms are phenomenal as you have your own and they are nicer then most hotels. At night the host and his family put on a show that puts the family in Sound of Music to shame. Everything is provided for you from blankets, marshmallows roasting stick, blankets etc. they also have a nice laundry room if needed
MoreSo glad I came upon Whispering Pines in my search for lodging near Bryce Canyon NP. It is a unique setting that I just loved plus quiet, not crowded, and close to camping (which is my normal choice). Our wagon and bathroom were clean and comfortable. If I were to make one suggestion it would be to have a water bucket available at each wagon for the campfire ring. Would definitely come stay here again! Thanks Robert and family for sharing your piece of paradise with us.
MoreSuch a fun and unique place to stay! Rob and Christy made sure we had what we needed and were so kind in their hospitality. Plenty of warm blankets and heat in the wagon to keep us warm each night. The grill and available cookware was super helpful to us. All you really needed was your food and clothes. They had everything else for you. Private bathroom was a plus and we even got to take care of some laundry while we were there. Our family was on a 3 week road trip and this place was definitely at the top of our list of places to stay. You will not be disappointed staying here!
MoreWhat a wonderful experience it was staying at Whispering Pines! The accommodations are clean and lovely, the hosts are warm and friendly, and the location is beautiful. Rob and Christy made every effort to help us feel comfortable and at home. They have a lovely family and it was so nice to get to connect with them. Besides that, they have an eye for detail. They literally thought of everything... to make the wagons as comfortable and nice as possible, and to make the grounds as beautiful and magical as they can be. Besides all the amenities offered, the decor is spectacular. They are also equidistant between Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks. It made it so easy to spend ample time at both. And we saw deer there everyday. I already want to go back! :)
MoreBest family weekend getaway! Our kids were in heaven staying in wagons and having so much outdoor areas to play in and explore! We loved having our our fire pits and grills to cook and enjoy time together. Having our own personal bathroom was so nice as well! We will definitely be staying there again- hopefully with a lot more family to join in the fun!
MoreWe stayed two nights at Whispering Pines and had a wonderful time!! It is the cutest place and every detail is thought of to make your stay comfortable. The wagons were so fun and unique to stay in and so clean, comfortable, nice and new. There were mattress heaters and a heater for the wagon and even USB ports to charge our phones. The bathroom was SO nice and clean, it was nicer than a lot of hotel bathrooms we have been to. The owners were so friendly, welcoming and nice. We had a wonderful experience and will definitely will be back, I would recommend this place to anyone!!
MoreThis was a fun and unique experience for our family. The wagon is a fully stocked studio like space - comfy beds with heating pads, had A/C and heaters, plus fridge, micro and coffee maker + coffee fixings. Everything we needed was provided - bundles of wood to purchase, a gas grill with tools, chairs, etc. The private bathroom was super clean, warm and well lit.The entire experience was so fun and enjoyable. The hosts have really thought of everything. Id highly recommend a stay at the Whispering Pines wagons!
