Phoned order through. Had not started on it when I arrived to collect even though there were no customers in the shop. Smallest scoop of Chips, more like half a scoop and were soggy. Last time Ill give them business.

Best fish n chip I have been to. Pays to order early as they are so busy. Burgers are delicious and the staff are so friendly. Even though I have to drive further, this is now my new local.

Used to avoid this place, but today just had the best Fish and chips Ive had in a bloody long time, The snapper was fresh af, the batter was crisp, the chips crispy af, scallops and prawn twisters were yum as. The bro working alone did a great job. Cant post a pic because we demolished the entire spread. Cheers brother!

If my family are feeling like chips, and are close, we wont hesitate to buy a couple fresh scoops from this shop. Fish are usually well cooked and fresh tasting. Chips taste like they have been deep fried in beef fat sometimes. When you ask for them well done or extra crispy. We will find 80% of the time we get home or chips are still nice and crunchy and not soggy. Which means they spent that extra minute or two giving you what you asked for and thats top service. Good chips, but with the price of potatoes. I wish, for what you pay you could feel like your satisfied with what you brought. If you drive into Bethlehem or Tauranga you will find a instant increase in size. But for quality, it cant be beaten and is usually my choice. Keep up the fine food service Whaka Takeaways.

Moved from auckland in December, thought I was getting pretty good fish and chips, Whaka seafood is next level, great choice of fresh fish, thin batter, well drained, springs rolls, hot dogs, crabsticks and chips all deluxe , I will have to check out the burgers in the future

Been here a few times now. Quality of food depends on when they get the fresh fish in and whos cooking it. But overall positive experience. The staff are genuinely nice people.

Had a plain ham burger and chips today and I must say it was the best hamburger I have ever had! Beetroot, salad, pattie, sauce etc was perfect! So fresh and tasty! Chips were nice too!

9.90$ for a burger that was absolutely horrific ended up throwing it away, I love me a burger this was a massive disappointment, paying that amount you expect decent food but that was awful. Never going to return.

This place used to be amazing - past tense. Ordered twice in the past few month’s and it’s gone drastically down hill. The only fish being served was trevaly which was frozen, the chips were soggy and the potato fritters might as well of been French fry’s they were that small. I always order extra fish and have not once not eaten the fish! Such a shame as we’d NEVER had a bad meal previously.

Wow, what a great fish and chip shop. Love this place. We’d had a hard morning climbing Mount Maunganui and needed a tasty lunch fast so we ordered ahead on our way home. We grabbed a range of things. Fish, chips, mussels, curry roll, scallops and potato fritters. We also bought some fresh green lipped mussels to steam later. The fish and chips were spectacularly good. The fish was off the scale excellent. Fresh trevally cooked superbly in batter. Not small pieces either, large thick ones replete with beautiful moisture and in a lovely batter. Best fish I’ve ever had from a local fish and chip shop. Just fantastic. Everything else was great too, particularly the potato fritters. Service was lovely here as well. The cost of the meal was just so cheap too. Just over $50 for five people. I so wish this place was my local.

Been twice now as its convenient been both time fish has been under cooked with still gooey batter and wen crumbled it wasnt even brown had to cook it properly at home unacceptable wen paying top dollar for terakihi

Can’t rate the team here high enough. Light batter on oober fresh fish with super golden and crispy chips. Don’t forget to ask for an Apple turnover. Our new favourite desert post chip feast.

$3 for a hotdog that had 4 lumps of grissle isnt acceptable, chips and spring roll under cooked & greasy
