Home to the Carolyn Parr Nature Museum, this park also has miles of trails through groves & meadows.
Such a wonderful hike for sunrise or sunset just stunning is not too long but you can go on different roads and make it a bit longer. Is pet friendly, and always parking available, I enjoy it so much and love to share it with my Napa Valley friends who are fit or like me always trying to be more fit.
Scenic shady trails & hilltop views. Gorgeous oak & eucalyptus trees.Challenging uphill walks at times.
Wonderful trail walk. Saw a couple of well trained furbuddies
Very calming and beautiful hike! Definitely recommended!
Excellent trail right in the middle of Napa.
Nice place for a hike. Hilly if you dont like walking hills.
This is a beautiful place to take nature walks with the family. Theres always more to love Everytime we go there. People are hiking walking the dogs or excersizing. A great place to meet new people. This place is literally in my backyard, an I just love to come out here an just enjoy Gods creations. Be sure to give me a holla when ever u visit. Kreektyme!!
Its a great place to hike. Not too challenging. Great for dogs.
Such a fun hike! We had ages from 2 on up and everyone did well! Such wonderful views from the top and a cool climbing tree near the top as well.
Great hills. The only place to sit and picnic would be the parking or the grass
Beautiful in the mornings. My dogs love it!
Great hike. Some elevation. Groomed trails. Shade for hot days...smell the Eucalyptus and some great spots for bench overlooks of Napa and wine country
Great place. Short hiking trails, perfect for a light hiker.
About a quick 30 minute hike up the hill. Views are killer. Dirt trail all the way!
Nice hile
Great trail and beautiful view up the hill. Kid friendly. My 8th year old did pretty good and weve seen little kids under 5 running up the hills. Parking is easy at the bottom of the main entrance.
Perfect hike for us to do with our small dogs. Trails are easy to moderate. Always wear a hat, spf & bring your water. We have found plenty of shaded areas to sit for a break.Theres a small picnic area near the parking lot, before you get to the beginning of the trail & it is well shaded. Porta potty is there if you need to use it.
Great hike path. A bit of rough declines but a great place foe hiking and running.
Great hike, fantastic view and good workout. This trail brings you to a breathtaking view point to the west of the city of Napa. The trail is well kept, nice, clear, clean. Saw some people with their young kids just enjoying the weather.
Great for short (1 hour or lesshikes, spectacular view from the top.
This is a very convenient park if you’re staying in Napa or close to Napa. I would rated as easy to moderate with a few steep spots and some rocky spots and roots thus not appropriate for strollers or wheelchairs. About half of it shaded the rest is in the open and if you do the whole loop he comes out to about 2.6 miles
Nice little hike for the family, poison oak off the path so be careful with your little people
All my very first walk in this park I thought it was beautiful and challenging and one could spend the entire day walking at full length but I experienced somebodys pet coral snake that had gotten loose and albino rattlesnake both in my pathway which I almost stumbled upon at a healthy 16 ft for one of them, after that feeling lucky I decided to walk on the opposite end of the park and go down a less traveled trail into the shrubbery as it was becoming hot not thinking that perhaps a wild animal might want to sit under there for shade need I say more?a lot of people live under the delusion that this is an animal park for dogs. the dog park is on the left side.on the right side is more where the horses go for walks there is a water reservoir at the top of the hill and you can opt to go around to the right near the creek where are there at one point is a bench to sit on and then another bench located by the creek it is this area you have to be very careful of because sometimes a random lioness will be out there getting a drink of water or fishing or getting out of the Sun or even preparing to hang out at night time and hunt so you should never be here at dusk and never be out this way in the park during a very hot day because youre likely to see everything you dont want to.Now this is nature and you should realize in a natural park the only kind of maintenance that happens is somebody comes out to collect the trash but they stay in the parking lot they dont go out and check out the park there is no park ranger who walks through the park cleaning things watching for people nothing there is no call box should you get injured or bitten by a snake the nearest hospital is Queen the valley. You should carry a cell phone a Belkin charger or a very light charger on your person along with more than sufficient supply of water say putting some ice cubes in a can or a Frozen water as well as snacks in case you have to spend the night and you injure yourself and you cant call out you drop your phone in the water or something horrifying happens you should carry a staff a taser or mace on you you should spray yourself with a coating of bug and mosquitoes spray flea and tick repellent I find it works great for your shoes and kneecaps wet some wristbands make sure you dress properly for the weather and to get dust on your legs from walking or having the grass rub up against your calves and your shoes make sure you cover your feet and shins this is not a race track believe it or not there are people that love to run through here but if you can imagine sometimes this running brings out ideas and the snakes mind that there might be a yummy horse running by that they can bite. There are a lot of gopher holes and there are a lot of non-venomous snakes then usually if you leave them alone they will not bother you as long as you can identify them and react properly in time. You should never enter this park without enough gas in your car and an extra key in case you accidentally drop your key your wallet or take a tumble.Quite a few people have had heart cramps from attempting to run up a sharp Hill that there is on the second part of the park close to the parking area do not attempt to climb that Hill if you have a heart condition or if you are not conditioned well for exercising take it easy on incline if your elderly dont start out with the walkway or the driveway to walk in it is far too steep take the left side even though it has some tall grasses keep your eyes peeled keep on the lookout for wildlife its wise to make vlogs or videos as you walk through in case something vould to happen to you. If you see a stranger put your arm up and wave how at them there is no need to talk to people that are strangers to you or come into close proximity with any stranger if somebody waves you down they will cross their arms above their head and wave from far off to let you know they need help. Check into your car every 45 minutes. Leave at dusk. Im making this a condensed version of warnings.Carry a snakebite kit and medavac if bitten.
This is a great place to hike. Very challenging for those who need a little challenge to get the heart ❤ going. Best trees for photo taking, wonderful spring flowers in bloom that smell heavenly! But when ALL is said & done the view is the best, looking out over Napa at the top of the hill while sitting on a bench is breath taking.
Beautiful park and a good place to lounge under a tree!
Beautiful short and steep hike .. multiple trail to follow.gorgeous view from the top.i would love to go again.
I love this park. Pretty close to the center of the City of Napa. Many trails criss cross the park and at the highest point there are incredible views of the Napa Valley.
Dog owners bring their dogs to the on-leash area with them off-leash all day everyday. They have their own area for that but many dont care. No enforcement whatsoever by the City.
Nice place to go for a walk or exercises
Great hikes all through the park. Brought the dogs and they loved it. Perfect cloudy misty day. Scenery is quintessential Napa.
Great wide trail loop, 2.3 miles total with various paths for shortcuts. Plenty of people around so you might see a neighbor or two! There are some steep portions with loose dirt/rock, so have on good treads!
Great place walk. Hours. Hearing birds calm. Here.
Great place to hike with the family. Easy tarrain and ample rest area. Need better signage for new visitors.
A nice park with a few hiking trails throughout and over the hills. The park isnt to large and the main highlight is the view from atop the highest hill which offers a great view of Napa Valley.
Nice and shady, lots of well-kept trails (all uphillfrom the trailhead), but no signage! Got lost coming back and ended up on a tiny trail that let out from the park to a residential area about .5 mile from the parking lot.
This hiking isnt long, so its able for all ages, at the top, you will get a really wonderful view of the city. Would be nice if I try it again but riding a bike
First time going to this trail and I must say I love it. Very clean and it’s not too big but not too small either. About two miles worth of hiking if you were to circle around. Plenty of trails to chose from. Peaceful and quiet too. Definitely coming back
Beautiful view of the Valley and great nature hike.
Beautiful view. You can see the entire Napa. Its not too long to walk. It has a couple of benches to sit and admire the view. Excellent spot to watch sunsets too
Very nice place, familiar and quiet
When I first moved to Napa over four years ago, Westwood Hills was where I hiked. But before I knew it I was up in north Napa and I spent the next three years hiking at Alston Park. Well, Im finally back!I recently moved downtown and WWH is a short drive up First street. The park is a real surprise. The hills are steep and plentiful. The huge shade trees and steep ravines remind me of hikes Ive taken in the mountains. And though there are always cars in the lot and plenty of Napans enjoying the park, I rarely run into others. It feels like my own park and the hikes are very meditative. The trees are full of squirrels and songbirds. I see a gorgeous hawk hunting every time Im there. My favorite time to hike is around dusk when the deer are all out having their evening meal! It is a sanctuary for everyone! The view from the top is extraordinary. One direction is the city of Napa and the other is gorgeous rolling hills and vineyards. At the parking lot there is also the Carolyn Parr Nature Center. It is free and offers education about our local wildlife. They offer classes about our local environment for a small fee of $5 and donations are always welcome! There are no fees to hike and when the small parking lot fills up there is parking along the street. I love the park and plan to visit often
Hidden gem of a park/hiking trails. Parking is easy; small lot at the bottom and usually plenty of street parking. You can bring dogs if they are on leash. At the top you can branch off onto several other trails and there are benches along the way to rest (no running water so bring your own). Both mountains have beautiful views of the Napa valley and surrounding areas. You can spot lots of wildlife like turkey vultures, lizards, etc. This is a great place to come for a short 30 minute hike or half day hike if you want to explore the whole place.
Westwood Hills Park was a beautiful hike with many scenic spots. The hike isn’t very hard and just about anyone could do it. The park was very clean and well maintained.
Great place to hike
We did a service project to restore some of the trails as a part of "Red Day" (day to give backfrom Keller Williams Realty. :)
fun place to get an easy hike in, or just relax in the grass
This is a great casual hike close to the heart of Downtown Napa. Approximately 20-25 minutes climb to the top where youre rewarded with a great view of the Central Valley and Downtown. Highly recommend if you want a casual walk before heading out to a day of wining and dining!
This place is perfect for a quick jog but it can be packed in the morning
This is a great park to take a short hike in. Great views of Napa from the top of the hill. The city has done an excellent job of putting a good amount of trails in a small area and maintaining a sense of seclusion on each one despite the crowds that frequent this park. My favorite is to hike the whole perimeter of the park, clockwise.
Great place for a picnic and a good run up to the top.
