Western Hills Campground & RV Park - in Rawlins, United States
Highly recommend! Stayed here both going & coming back on our road trip. Great place! Level, lots of space, quiet, friendly & helpful staff, clean restrooms & showers, laundry, great animal decorations.
Very nice rvpark and Campground. Well kept. Clean dog areas. Would stay there again.
No trees just open spaces. Has 3 small pet areas but one was locked.Close to stores, restaurants, gas stations and other servicesVERY windy when we were there so nothing to block it.
Was staying there in Oct 2016, had a massive heart attack. Lucky we were close to hospital. Emergency care was given, and I was flown up to Casper. Was in coma for 5 days, and doctor said I was brain dead, wife would not accept that and demanded some tests. Woke up in middle of one. The campground emailed us and gave us a free night. Got out of hospital a few weeks later and stayed in exact spot.
This is a great little park. Quiet and clean. Staff is helpful and friendly. Rawlins is a growing town on I-80 in Wyoming.
This is my second overnight stay here and both have been good . Just passing thru as I "make some miles between here and there love the electric only sites and the showers are over the top . anytime Im in the area this will be where I stay.
I called to reserve an electric only spot and was charged $34 before I arrived. We arrived and my husband wanted the Good Sam’s Discount-the staff could not figure out how to make a change in system. The laundry facility had more signs about what one could not do. We pulled around to use sewer dump in morning and an older lady “watering” the plants (we were also told not to use water in this RV “resort” due to shortage. . .was very rude and refused to let us to go to the dump. The smart customer service thing would have been to allow us to dump but the staff was rude and while I know some won’t care-we have been full timing for 2 years and I his has been our only bad review.
Lousy customer service! 1st told me I couldnt get good sam discount because she already charged me. 2nd some rude golf cart woman told me I couldnt dump because I hadnt paid for it. Im a fulltimer and never heard of such a thing. Park lot was dusty gravel that tracks in camper. Wont be back! Dumped for free in next town.
Large gravel sites with pull thru so you dont have to disconnect if just staying one night like we did. Close to the highway, but far enough that you dont hear the road noise.
No shade. Good for big rigs easy in and out. Cable pretty terrible but wifi was ok. However couldnt really stream on wifi. Clean. Folks were laid back.. Nice. Decent price to camp. All in all good place to stop for a overnight or couple of days. Faced the mountains, liked that.
Wonderful. My husband and I had a great time. The place was charming. We look forward to coming back
stayed here on a long distance bicycle tour. clean, great facilities, welcoming, didnt mind when I put my tent down under the pavilion (it rained that night).
Very nice person at check in, nicest bathroom so far (we’ve been traveling since mid-May), all gravel but quite level spots, quiet (could just hear trains in the distance). I wish we had noticed the putt putt golf area beside the laundry building. That would have been fun. Only thing missing is a grass area for dogs. The small fenced in dog area is also gravel - all other areas marked as not for dogs.
Stopped here to camp traveling through to Colorado. Absolutely wonderful place. Laundry machines worked flawlessly. Bathrooms and showers immaculate. Lots of amenities and staff were super helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.
Lovely facilities, friendly staff and beautiful mountain views - oh and a fully stocked lil store.
Excellent overnight stay. All their sites are pull thrus. All different levels of no hookup to full hookups and a couple cabins & tent sites. Level sites. Very clean. Staff friendly. Easy on and off to I80.
Rawlings is a windy and dusty location. With that said, we were very pleased with Western Hills. It is very clean , the spots pretty level, the owners very nice, and the laundry room clean and comfortable. It even had a TV and sofa. The park is gravel with the exception of a small tent area and dog run. Spaces are not to close, and we had plenty of length for our 30 class A.We would definitely stay here again.
Good overnight. Easy check in (after 2pm). Basically a big crushed gravel lot with weeds. Lots of spaces that are all filled up so they are doing something right.
One of the best RV parks we’ve ever stayed in-clean facilities, fantastic showers, kind employees and flat, easy in and out sites.
Western Hills was easy enough to get into and ample space to park. Full hookups. We only stayed one night, so didnt have opportunity to use other amenities. Very good communication making reservations ahead if time.
Western Hills Campground, 250 Wagon Circle Road, Rawlins WY off I80. This park is basically one big gravel lot that holds 84 rv sites and some tent camping. There isn’t trees or a lot of greenery but that is Wyoming at 7,000 ft! The sites were level. It was $42 for full hookups with Good Sam/Military discount. The best part about this place is the showers! They were clean, had seats and hooks, and miscellaneous shampoos, lotions, perfumes and Qtips for anyone to use! There is limited green areas to walk dogs but they have one dog park that is astro turf and one that is gravel. But at least there were no stickers! Cable was included in the park. Over the Air stations were terrible but Tmobile/Sprint signal was 4 bars! The site was within a short walk to restaurants and gas.
Brinley was able to get us a site that we requested. Found out when we arrived, from Tonya, that she did just that. Both ladies were very professional and courteous. Will definitely stay here again.
Level, gravel RV park with well-organized, easy roads to move around. The RV park is close to I-80 (but we couldnt hear trains or cars at our site and in our RV). The staff was very friendly, helpful and allowed us to change to a site that worked a little better for us. The laundry room is the nicest I have seen and includes clean restrooms. There is a cute mini golf area as well as a kids playground, all at the RV park. The utillities were organized and easy to hook-up. Good stop! We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Motorhome.
Thanks for a wonderful stopover. The bathrooms were spotless and the laundry facilities are better than most homes. The front staff was friendly and very efficient.
Very easy & friendly check-in! The bathrooms were immaculate as stated in the description, and the laundry room was really clean. It made for a cozy and nice place to relax while waiting on my laundry. The campground is the best I found in the area as far as scenery, neatness, and the friendly staff.
Good for an overnighter. This is good as it gets for Rawlins. Cable TV that got half the listed channels. Wi Fi worked.
Western Hills has some of the nicest facilities (bathrooms, laundry, etcIve seen at a park of its size and price point. The sites are level and rates are reasonable. Our son had a blast on the playground, and we even got in a round of minigolf. Overall, a great stay. Thank you!
Great place to stay for a night! They have several different dog parks. It was well-maintained. The only thing was the trash dumpster was a long way away from our site for walking and just dumping a bit of trash. Maybe, they could add some trash cans or put a dumpster at both ends of the park even, or one by the checkin building that is more in the middle. There was a deer in the grass close to us last night which was neat!
Very much recommend this rv park, impulsed a stop for the night while on the road fighting bad weather and stayed 2 &1/2 days! Clean, great staff, reasonable, level pull thrus, nice laundry. We got lucky and want to share our good fortune🙂
Good a one night stand or if you live or work nearby. Pea gravel holds the rain water and is soggy and mushy. Called in for same day reservation and told only 2 spots left. There were 15 or more empty. Wifi wouldnt connect or even take a password. Wouldnt go back.
Nice Campground. Great for overnight stay. Could not use all of the amenities due to VERY windy day. Staff was friendly and helpful. Leval gravel pads with full hookups.
It’s a good overnight location. All gravel, but level and clean. Close to interstate with easy on/off.
Large sites and very level. Good place to stay and take a break from your travels.
Really nice stay. We arrived late and our documents and receipt were left in the after hours box. We explored the showers and laundry, and found them to be great. The only showers weve ever seen that provide a towel. The laundry room was beautifully appointed, with a nice sofa, game table, and TV. Reasonable prices, well stay again if we come this way.
We were looking forward to staying here for one night, but a sudden winter weather advisory was posted with up to 5" of snow. Therefore, we called to cancel our reservation and they were unwilling to refund any part of our overnight stay. Ive had some parks keep up to a $10 fee and I was hoping at least for the same at this park. Nope. They put the entire charge through as if I was staying the night and were unwilling to refund any portion. Again, we wanted to stay there, but could not due only to the weather.
Level pull through sites. Super clean restrooms and laundry. Very nice campground. Reasonable prices.
I write this as Im currently staying here. Sadly its 29 degrees outside and cant enjoy any outside activities. But the bathrooms and laundry are over the top. Very very nice and clean, great water pressure. Best shower Ive had in the last 3000 miles. Plenty of stores and restaurants nearby also. I highly recommend this place if your driving through. You can tell these owners and employees care about your stay here.
We stayed here on April 6th, 2022. It is one of the best campgrounds we have seen. Very clean and modern and the staff was exceptional. We will plan on staying here again. Welcome to windy WY.
We stayed here last summer and we love the updates!! Wonderful bathrooms and showers. The showers even had floor towels and a little basket with lotions, body sprays, and q tips if you need to use some. Would definitely come back!!
We would have given this place a 5 but there were unforseen circumstances. We were having a relaxing evening when the power went out it was about 6:15 it was raining cold and windy about 7:15 we were informed we had to move we had a full hook-up in the first spot we moved in the rain dark and mud to a site that had electric no water so of course we had no sewer are fireplace heater has damage because the power had snapped when it went off we were told by the owner we would get a refund but this morning when we left we got $9.00 and change what a joke if we had left the park instead of moving to a site with nothing but electricity we would have gotten a full refund. We realize that the owners cant plan on a problem like this but we DID NOT GET WHAT WE PAID FOR and it made for a miserable night.
Our family stayed for a couple of days. The bathroom and laundry area are immaculate! I felt very comfortable at the park. We will return if we pass through the area again! Check out Bucks Sports Grill in town; the burgers and fries were awesome!
Best bathroom and showers.Staff was excellent. My surge protector failed and I called the office several times to ask for help before realizing it was my equipment. The office staff answered questions about who delivered food, (damn good steak from Michael’s).
Spent three days here at $36 per day. This gravel parking lot with 85 RV pedestals was fine. The FHU worked as expected, site space was close but not to close but the WiFi was outstanding!! The public laundry room has been updated and is fantastic. The bathrooms/showers were also second to none. The gravel interior roads were wide and for the most part, level. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly and experienced. I opted for the 24 channel cable TV. The first 5 channels were too snowy to view, the other 20 were OK. Of course the main channels (NBC,ABC,CBS, FOXwere the snowy channels. I believe I received 2 OTA TV station. Satellite dish will be fine. The owners own several business near-by and live just off the property. The owners have spent a lot of time and money to decorate the RV Park with lots of yard art. Very-cool!! The miniature golf is $2 and the large play ground is free. There is also a dog yard and puppy yard. The grass area for the tent area looked inviting.
This is definitely a 5 star park. The sites are all gravel and very level. The restrooms are very nice and well maintained. When you walk-in it even smells clean. This campground was a pleasure to stay at. I will definitely stay again when I get the chance to do so again.
Nice large level gravel spaces. Hookups are well maintained. Clean updated coin laundry. Very nice and accommodating regardless of your RV, camper or motor-coach. Also, great stop over location if heading on into Denver, or Yellowstone. Will come back here. See photos.
Was a great place to stop for the night. Was able to get all the laundry done. Laundry facilities are really nice. Nicest I’ve seen with newer, large washers and dryers. TV and couch in there so you have something to do while you wait. The staff was very user-friendly and welcoming also. The dog park was perfect for our four legged kiddo to run around too!
I had had breakfast here a year ago! I remembered it so we stopped in for lunch. Now I have covered all the meal times the prepare and the food is really good. The staff have been very nice at each visit. They do excellent work. Nice hometown cafe! Go Panthers.
I want to start off as this is a nice, clean park. My only complaint is their refund policy or lack of communication.I had work in the area. The park does nighty, weekly and monthly reservations. I booked the spot for 2 weeks. I stay at parks all over the country. With multi-day stays, it is usually cheaper to do a week or month as reflected in the lower price per night. My weekly rate was around 200. I paid up front for two weeks. My job got cut short after 6 days. I Checked in Wednesday and checked out Tuesday. Went inside to check out and to get a refund for the week I didnt stay. Was told zero refunds. I totally understand not refunding a partial week because I wouldve benefited from a lower rate compared to the nighty rate. I do however dont agree with not refunding a full paid week without a single day stayed on it. Seems shady and greedy. There conformation email states there refund policyNice park for nightly, but hesitant to recommend for traveling workers. Here is a copy of the email with the refund policy. This is a notice that we have received your reservation request. Should you need to change or cancel your reservation please call the office no later than 5pm the day before your arrival date. If you need to cancel your reservation, the amount that you paid to confirm the reservation will serve as the cancellation fee. For nightly reservation cancellations, should you fail to call by 5pm, one day prior to your arrival, you will be charged one night’s fee. Please do not hesitate to call our office should you have any questions.
This place was very clean, loved the shower and laundry place! Customer service very nice and easy to work with since we had to keep extending our stay due to weather conditions. They should consider keeping heated hoses on hand (to purchase or rent)for unexpected weather conditions for travelers that get stuck in below freezing weather. Also, maybe tips for these people on how to help keep their vehicles weather proofed. I know it’s not this places job, but it would be a nice touch. 🤗
Fantastic place to stay on the road to wherever your travels take you. Great customer service! We needed two spots at the absolute last minute and they were happy to accommodate us. Now for the important part (for me anyway): The Bathroom/Shower house. Wow. I cant say enough about how clean everything was. They clearly care about making their campers feel at home. It smelled great, the separate showers basically had their own little rooms with plenty of space to hang towels, clothes, etc. without getting wet. I would return to this campground for the bathrooms alone.
