Greenspace that is home to iconic landmarks, including the Lincoln Memorial & Washington Monument.
Start and finish line of DC half marathon 2022
Great park. Wide open space for baseball, soccer, ultimate, etc.
Nice Place to Park Buses & Sleep
I’m born and raised in DC and never been to West Potomac Park. Glad I came here to participate in the activities. This was for the Something in the Water Gospel event. It was a pop up church service and free! I love my city DC. 🙏🏿❤️
Great event given by Pharrel Williams pop up church great success . Secure.. no biting mosquitos ect. Clean
Love this park. We did the lime scooters and had a blast. It is amazing to see all the monuments up close.
A really great spot for social and intramural sports, but it is kind of hard to navigate to. Be prepared to make your way through hoards of mall tourists and find limited cabi bike parking.
All major monumnets are in this park. Parking can be hard to find. Park where you can and use electric scooters or bikes to visit various monumnets.
The Cherry blossom blooming are amazing
Mostly clean area but some trash which is unfortunate. Very quiet next to the river. Good spot to bring a dog or have a picnic.
Beautiful when the cherry blossoms come out but also a great spot for some quiet time during your DC adventure.
Great place to view the cherry blossoms.
Amazing place. I don’t know why the world’s is getting worse. Why we don’t Lear about this people again
Actually, I met several US Park Police officers when I was stopped for driving 31 mph in a 15 mph area. I often drive through the park to access 395. Officers were great and professional. I was polite and guilty. Still got a 100.00 ticket for not having registration and insurance card in vehicle. The best part is that they did not keep the THC gummy bears on the front seat.
Great views around the Tidal Basin, walk from Kutz Bridge at Independence Avenue see some older magnificent cherry trees. Continue down pass MLK Jr. Memorial and between Roosevelt Memorial for great panoramic views over to Jefferson Memorial. If youre careful, you can see all the way to the District Wharf Southwest.
Nice little park. Came here by accident when I was trying to visit the jefferson memorial, but ended up staying here briefly.
Beautiful! Awesome family friendly place to relax ride scooters or have a picnic.
I come here almost every summer, very lovely water front views and trails, and of course many magnificent monuments/memorials! An only sorry s the frequent airplanes humming off n up.
Tidy, clean, pleasant green environment. Excellent place for relaxation, active sports, walking on roads, diverse bird world. Fishing is excellent.
I stumbled upon this beautiful place.. Great for a picnic!
One of my favorite parks in the DMV. Close to the national mall and Potomac river. You can park here and be so close to so many monuments. Great place for a Sunday stroll with the family or just a drive.
My 35th today. started rapping at the age of 6, when his dad wrote a rap for him, this gained him a lot of positive attention and created his lgot out of the streets and got into the studio to record “Pray” and really start to take music seriously.
Beautiful Place to Realize the Importance of our Country ...We started with One Nation Under God & Now we Must Continue to Keep God in Our Nation... He is Our Hope in 2020...All those before us Built what we have & we should Stand Up Against Americas Enemies...
Great place to watch the sunset. Lots of gnats and mosquitoes. Bring your lawn chair and relax.
Excellent views during the yearly cherry blossom festival. Come in the mornings for the best views and photo shots as it gets very crowded after 11am. Loop around over to the Tidal Basin for breathtaking views of the blossoms. Be sure to visit the museums nearby too!
beautiful scenery and plenty of flowers
Loved the scenery and the quiet here! Great if you run or do long walks everyday. A little far away from the hustle-bustle of the Capitol area but definitely worth it. Just park your car in this lush green park, take a stroll alongside the beautiful Potomac river, and breathe some clean, fresh air!
Beautiful green space overlooking the water. Located on the outer most parts of the national mall this area whispers tranquility. Parking near here was a minimum of $6 for an hour or so of parking (dont quote me on this). If you visit this area for nothing more than lunch on the lake (bring your own lunchor rendezvous on the river, your day will be well spent. Walkable area.
Very nice place to go with your family and either have fun or chill and enjoy nature. Ive been here five times now and I love it here.
Great view of fireworks until the wind stopped and smoke hung around too long.
Have been here for the cherry blossom festival. Huge crowd and lot of traffic when we visited.
Very nice place to hang out and relax with family
We were here at the peak of the cherry blossoms. Its an incredible sight that you should see.
Beautiful views of the Washington monument, the cherry blossoms and the Jefferson memorial. Parking was hard to find. I would’ve loved to see the botanical garden but I forgot 🤷♀️
Good place to visit on cherry bloosom season.
Beautiful park, including cherry blossoms
Looks great in cherry blossom festival.
Incredible spot to see the cherry blossoms. Well worth getting there early to get a spot. The area is safe and parking is reasonable.
Nice tranquil place beside Potomac park, we were there on the day of Cherry Blossom Festival.
Beautiful place in DC. Near the tidal basin and monument. Close to body of water (probably the Canaland very calming and relaxing feel to the area.
Lovely park for a morning walk.
Good views. Easy meter street parking in the morning. Free on Sunday. Volley Ball courts. Nice biking & jogging paths along the Potomac. Beautiful Japanese Cherry Trees along the tidal basin. Gorgeous when in bloom but go early in the morning to avoid the crowds & for better photos. During rest of the year; early morning, mid-morning & at night usually quiet & serene & easy to park. Great place for photography of west end of the National Mall: Memorial Bridge, Lincoln Memorial, WWII Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Kennedy Center & of course the Potomac River.
Very beautiful park! Great for FREE parking too!!!
Big beautiful space along the river.
Beautiful place to catch the cherry blossoms. Go during non-peak times for real serenity. Otherwise its packed when the cherry blossoms are in bloom, like everywhere else near the tidal basin.
Very beautiful. Its a enjoying to run here.
Nice view at night overlooking monuments and Potomac River.
It has a huge area around the Main Luther King Memorial that you can just walk with great views of the Washington monument
This should really be two reviews, one for the Cherry Blossom Festival, one for the rest of the year. Well start with the rest of the year.Being near the water is always gorgeous, and theres always something going on, either polo on the Polo Fields, ultimate frisbee being played on Ohio Drive, or a softball league game going onIts a lovely place to bike or jog, or just drive down and sit on the water. One summer evening, I saw two buddies had driven down, pulled camp chairs from their trunks, and were just sitting on the side of the water, watching the sunset. It was truly idyllic. Now for the Cherry Blossom Festival. One star: Forget parking, or biking, or jogging. All the roads will be parking lots and all the sidewalks and paths will be jammed with tourists gawking at this one particular set of trees (which, in case there was any doubt, TOTALLY GROW IN THE REST OF THE CITY TOO). Theres nothing fun happening, because no one can get there. If its Cherry Blossom time, just go home.
Ive been down here in the middle of the day and had such a bad experience that Id sworn it off. As a result, I normally avoid it during the entire time its warm. Or I may take an out-of-town guest to one of the lit memorials after dark. However, I went down to the Tidal Basin for a photo walk at the peak of Cherry Blossom bloom. I arrived at approximately 7:30 a.m. and the entire area was tranquil. As I walked around the Tidal Basin, there were mostly photographers doing the same thing I was doing. All were courteous. Because I made multiple stops it took me about 1 1/2 hours to get back to the Jefferson Memorial where I started.Just at 9 a.m. tour buses arrived letting off lots of people so if you want to avoid the crowds, definitely get there well before 9 a.m.
