Wenhams Camp @ Warby-Ovens National Park - Campsite in Wangaratta, Australia
Wenhams Camp @ Warby-Ovens National Park in Wangaratta
Description
Good camping spot.alot of good sites within walking distance.good roads, safe site.very professional.
MoreWeird set up. No spaces to enable camping beside vehicle. Too many bolards, they really distract from the scenery.
MorePeaceful location and great place to enjoy lovely hikes😊
Nice spot. Great walks. Good drop toilets.
Nice spot. Needs better vehicle access to camp fires.
Great out of the way campsite. Long drop toilet.
Great spot ,lots of walking tracks, really good for mountain bikes.
Beautiful spot for a picnic and interesting bush walk 🌾🌿
Quiet clean lotsOf kangaroos
Camped here at the end of December so quite hot. Campground accessible via 2WD although quite rocky at times. Drop loos well stocked with TP when I was there. Free camping but not a great amount of sites so best get there early. Must be self sufficient with water and power. Trail heads for a few walking tracks accessible from the camp site. Good spot for one or two night stay
MoreSitting here tonight watching the kangaroos as the light dimmed, after a solid ride on the mountain bikes. Great there is a toilet. Cant wait to bring the swag in colder months and light a fire in the designated fireplace. Surrounded by animal life and bush. Serene.
MoreGood for a night. I was on my own which was good but I think if its busy might not be so good as it is more like a big car park than a campsite. Good drop toilets, some tables and fire pit.
MoreWaterfall Mirage
Nice quiet spot with longdrop toilets and non potable water in a rainwater tank
No other people. Reasonable toilets.
Great camping spot with toilets. Space for about 20+ campers. Bit dusty, not much grass with rocks making pegging in a bit tough. If you do the ‘Friends’ walking track nearby, take care as a few sign posts are missing.
MoreTv good. Phone not good. And a mad bollard installer severly limited the camping space.
MoreGood camp as base for hiking. Toilets ok, bring toilet paper. Walking trail signs need some maintenance but most trails are on Google maps (zoom in).
MoreGreat camping area with tables, toilets, small tank of rain water and fire pits. Plenty of space and nice and quiet
MoreFree. In the middle of the bush. Has fireplaces, toilets, a mini botanic garden and nice bushwalks.
MoreSimply stunning
Best view for stargazing there is
Fantastic campground for the evening. Lots of bollards as people have mentioned so may be tricky for big rigs, but this makes more room for tents that are protected from vehicles to swings and roundabouts.Big mob of Kangaroos live in the field adjacent, but unlike what others have said I didnt find them to be aggressive - instead they ran away when I tried to make friend with them 😭
MoreWe enjoy camping in National Parks and always try and find National Parks campsites whenever we are travelling. The Parks Victoria site suggests that Whenhams Camp is a large grassy area for camping (Walk in, Trailers, Camper Trailers, and Caravans). There is a large grassy area but you cant camp there. Instead the camping area is in the day use carpark. The ground is crushed rock and almost impossible to put a standard tent peg in. Large Caravans may have trouble manoeuvring. The suggested camping arrangement can be seen in the attached images, who camps like that? The toilets were clean and didnt smell. There is little to no shade, so camping in summer could get very hot.
MoreFantastic bush setting nice and open and very quiet
Nice spot for camping, bush walking, birdwatching, mountain biking etc.... love the Warby Ranges. Plenty of flora and fauna.
MoreQuiet place to camp, beautiful drives and walks
Great for bushwalking and mountainbike riding! Lots of wildlife in this area
