Welten Restaurant Antigua Guatemala - Fine dining restaurant in Chimaltenango, Guatemala
In my opinion the most romantic restaurant in Antigua Guatemala.
Wonderful ambiance, delicious food and impeccable service
The food is good, but could be managed better. Beautiful indoor space.
Amazing food and service! Get waited by Gustavo! He is the best!!!
Great and very unique ambiance and service. Food was okay, nothing innovative. Ask for salt.
Great staff, and romantic ambience. Food was mediocre at best.
what a wonderful experience in a beautiful city. very clean and inviting atmosphere. rose petals and vines make you feel like youre in a romantic movie!! the food was phenomenal as well.
Very romantic, great food and amazing service from Gustavo. Would highly recommend.
Beautiful ambiance, incredibly romantic setting, but the food was mediocre
Lovely setting. Very intimate and warm. Loved the live music and the wait staff. Order the rabbit pasta, it is so good!
Excellent place for a big group. We had an amazing evening. the service, the atmosphere, and the attention to detail make this place one our favorites
Spectacular volcano views from the dining area of this gem. The food was equally impressive as each dish was savored. Tranquil atmosphere throughout as water drips in the pool adorned with petals. The orchids rain from the ceiling and continues to add to the charm and romance of this oasis.
Very romantic restaurant! Our friends actually had their wedding there.I love their night lighting. Fine dining!!! A great place to eat well, and celebrate eachother.
Excelent atmosphare, very relaxing and romantic place, delicious food with soft background music.
Very nice atmosphere and food!
We held our wedding reception here in 2017 and every year we come back and are welcomed with open arms. We were there tonight and it just gets better . You will find a very romantic atmosphere like nowhere else Ive been. The food is exceptional. The service is top notch. Treat yourself!
I died and went to heaven. The food and service were excellent. The atmosphere was really cool.
Great place for food, drinks, and atmosphere. The people are fantastic. Every time I am in Antigua, I visit the Welten.
Great food. Beautiful place to relax. And the servers are the nicest people, get to know them.
Haut Cuisine in Antigua Guatemala, id say one of the best places to eat in the country. The food is expensive but is worth it.
Very very nice ambience. Service good. What I chose to eat was quite nice but not excellent.
Romantic dinner for two with incredible food and wonderful entertainment.
We stopped in for a lunch and a rest. We were amazed! The food is fabulous and the table near the pool was very tranquil. We were able to relax with a soft breeze and the sound of the fountain. We ate the 4 cheese gnocchi and the Israeli salad and hhe eggplant parmesan.
Very romantic ambience by the pool. The food was only so-so. Would go again for a date but not just for the food.
Happened to walk by this restaurant during the day & noticed the lovely interior. Decided to come back in the evening for dinner & was not disappointed. Excellent food, service & ambiance
Great restaurant. The staff is attentive and polite....
Very friendly service, great food, and just an amazing atmosphere.
I just spent two amazing hours at Welten’s! I enjoyed very much their golden corn soup, followed by a scrumptious lamb casserole. I had made reservations a week earlier and I said it would be my last day in Antigua plus it just happened to be my birthday. They brought out a piece of decadent cheesecake! My experience was very intimate and most satisfying.
What an amazing place. Very friendly, good service, good food. I truly recommend to go there when visiting Antigua.
One of the best in town. Well prepared food with great service
Fantastic dinner! The atmosphere is so beautiful and peaceful. The meals were all plentiful and well-prepared. This is a great place for a nice dinner. It was our last night in town -- couldnt think of a better place to be!
Great food in a beautiful setting. Can accommodate large group with notice.
Very beautiful atmosphere and kind waiters. Every dish was excellent and this restaurant made sure that my birthday was special! Highly recommended for a fancy dinner in Antigua!
I made a reservation for a special ocaoccas, I asked for a special package they have, everything was set, and when we came to the restaurant it was closed with a note outside the door saying theyll be open the next morning.
Very special restaurant, definitely worth a visit. The service was top notch, the atmosphere and interior design unique and the food was good.
GOT FOOD POISONING FROM THIS PLACE. I went there on New Years and want to warn all tourists to not eat there unles you want to be curled up in your hotel bathroom for the night.
Great service! Love the decoration!
Absolutely amazing place, supper friendly staff, atmosphere is nice and the food is delicious. We were a group of 9 people and we were treated like royalty, we were all impressed and very thankful with the treatment we received. I will definitely visit them again on my next trip to Guatemala.
Gorgeous! Food quality is top notch. This is a special occasion destination.
If we could give 10 stars we would! From the ambience, to the service to the AMAZING food (best weve ever had in Antigua!!this place is a dream!!! My husband and I read good reviews and went here on a whim last night and we were totally BLOWN AWAY by this amazing place! This is a gem among many amazing restaurants in the city! The prices were very reasonable, too!! We will be back!!!!
Exceptional decor and view of volcano. Great food. A little pricey, but worth it.
Pros: great service, delicious food, romantic ambiance. Cons: it could be an isolated incident but they took forever to process our payment!
Lovely courtyard, very pretty place. Romantic atmosphere. Excellent service.I had a generous and delicious sangria, and started with a very nice leek soup. As my entree I had the medallions of beef with pears and Roquefort sauce. The meat, pears, and sauce were delicious. The glazed carrots on the side were also good. The plain potatoes could have used a little something, and I didnt need the grilled green onions on the side (so hard to eat). My husband had the homemade panzotti, and it was delicious. We also got the homemade bread, which was good, that came with a dish of half garlic butter and half chile butter. The only disappointment was the crepe suzette for dessert. I love crepe suzette, and normally I love nuts, but they did not go well together. The crepe seemed to be filled with an almond butter and the orange sauce was infused with chopped nuts or nut butter too. Ruined it! When they saw we didnt eat it, they did offer to bring something else, and took it off the bill when we said we were just ready to go, so that was nice.We will probably go back. I want to try the other homemade pastas, and have some more sangria!
The service and atmosphere were both very good. The food quality was inconsistent given the price point ($50 per person). Imitation crabmeat in a seafood pasta dish was the most egregious offense. Some dishes were good (Israeli salad and lamb entree).
This was one of the first restaurant in Antigua that I️ was impressed by. They have added a few steps of service to their offerings that put them a step above the other finer offerings in Antigua. From the time you walk into the door you automatically feel welcome and as if you are in your eccentric uncles home for a dinner party. The decor is unique and welcoming which makes the perfect ambiance especially in the evening when the candles are lit.My most recent trip was with my husband for my birthday. Our server was excellent and they have done a great job training their employees to always be available but not overbearing. I️ love the touch of having the hand towels, a table that joined after us asked what they were for and it made me wonder if this is the only place in Antigua that offers this Japanese tradition. I️ loved it.The food was fantastic and came quickly for what I️ was expecting. I️ would go back every single day just for their chocolate mousse. They are also an incredible destination for a larger dinner party or event as they can set the tables inside to be one large and long table. I️ greatly enjoy sitting outside next to the pool and enjoying the sounds of the fountain.
Definitely one of the best restaurants in Antigua. Great food, beautiful, romantic atmosphere, and very good service
Went here several times while in Antigua. The chicken medallions were amazing. Great cocktails. Specials are well worth trying!
My new wife and I recently got married in Antigua, and we decided on Welten to host our wedding dinner. They were very gracious and prompt with all their communications prior to the wedding, and even offered to make our wedding cake for us at no extra charge (!The day before the wedding Nidia, Weltens dinner coordinator, suggested we come to the restaurant with a traditional wedding parade and a "torito", basically fireworks. Our wedding parade through the streets of Antigua going to the restaurant was one of the highlights of the week. And yes, they set off fireworks for us.The decorations in the restaurant and the food itself were superb. Even though we only had about 35 guests, there were at least 6 or 7 servers, so service was always prompt and top notch. The food, the parade/reception, the added surprises from the restaurant all made for a magical evening. In sum, I highly recommend Welten for anyone hosting a large event, or if you just was a beautiful romantic place to go.
Fantastic place! Great cozy atmosphere and decor. Food is amazing the staff superb. Highly recommended
Its fantastic. There is MUCH more to the place than the front door. Lovely romantic setting at night.
