Webb Military Museum - Army museum in Savannah, United States
Literally the coolest Museum I have ever been in, It is a must see! Cannot wait to go again!
If you want to know about military history, this is the place to go. Artifacts from the revolutionary war all the way to present. So much to see in this little space. The gentleman that collected all of the artifacts is still collecting today, continuing to grow the museum. We enjoyed it. Worth the time and money.
Great history and a epic collection of military memorabilia....
We stumbled on this amazing gem in downtown Savannah. Gary, the owner, met us at the front door and brought to life the stories about men and women in the military. He featured authentic military artifacts, equipment, uniforms and weapons. This is a must see for every American as it brings history to life.
Great experience. The owner is so knowledgeable, friendly, and shared so many of his own personal experiences.Has a scavenger hunt for children which makes it an adventure for them too.Highly recommend.
A jam packed little museum. The lady working there was fantastic, she was so friendly and informative. There was so much to see, and it felt really interactive. A visitor friendly museum which we would definitely recommend.
Owner has the best exhibits l have ever seen he welcomes questions and is very informative. I hope everyone gets a chance to visit
Outstanding museum. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable and tells the most interesting stories behind his collection.
Garys personal military collection is one of the largest Ive seen! His collection spans every US conflict sans the American Revolution (difficult for private collectors to come by). Gary is wonderful and a wealth of knowledge.
The owner takes such pride in his collection and explains every piece so thoroughly. Great place!!
One of the most impressive military history collections I’ve ever seen.. and I love museums. It’s his own personal collection so he is a walking book of knowledge. It is 100% a must visit if you like history. I sent my sister and brother n law there with their five kids and they even enjoyed it. Just GO!!
There are a few interesting relics that the museum curator is happy to talk about. However, its quite small and I felt ready to go after 20 minutes.
This is a must see in Savannah! This cozy museum is jam packed with amazing military artifacts. My favorite was a hand written letter by King George and napkins from Hitlers home. The owner has a wealth of knowledge and a deep understanding of his own family history. A great value!
Owner was very helpful and shared personal experiences with some of the pieces in the museum. Good price for what it is! A lot of cool pieces from American War History.
Been twice and will go every time I visit Savannah. Words cannot express how fascinating this place is. The history behind it is pretty cool. Definitely go!!
We’ve been coming to Savannah for years, and just discovered this museum. Apparently it was opened only a couple/few years ago. Gary Webb, the owner, shares his passion for history through his extensive collection of military artifacts. These include not just uniforms, medals and military hardware, but also the letters, photos and documents which memorialize the sacrifices made by soliders, their families and civilians. This museum is a must see. This museum visit caused us to reflect on the saying, “those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it“.
The museum had so much information and great displays. The guy working the place had great stories and was super nice. Great for anyone wanting to learn history about some famous wars.
Great museum and it stands out as the best in Savannah. Its a small location but dont be fooled. There is a lot to see packed into the space. It could easily fill a space 4 times larger. The thing that sets it apart is that everything is authentic and not a reproduction. Uniforms, equipment, firearms, etc. from all the different wars are all original. The museum owner is passionate, informative and accommodating. We had a great time talking to him at the end of the tour and he shared some local history.
Was wandering through Savannah when it began to rain. Being close to the Webb Military Museum and already being curious, I wandered in. Not only did it exceed expectations, Mr. Webb was there and nothing short of an absolute delight. A really amazing feat of private collecting, and a museum on par with any military museum Ive visited. Thanks!
Highly recommend going here if you are a history buff, he has a huge collection of WWII items as well as some Civil War, WWI, Korea, and other military items. Loved his knowledge of his collection.
Amazing place, stopped in today and couldnt believe all the stuff he had, but its not only the items he has in his collection. Its the stories behind each item that he will tell you. Cant wait until Im back in town to ck it out again.
A very fun labor of love. Gary Webb was terrific, as were the exhibits.
The guy who owns this & runs it is super friendly & very interesting. Our son whos a history buff loved it. Huge collection of authentic items, letters, stories etc. Very cool!
For a place soo small, it was truly an amazing experience visiting here. And all from one persons collection. From wars ranging from the American Civil War to Iraqi Freedom, this is hands down has to be the best military museum in the western hemisphere. The owner alone is just a pleasure to talk to as well bring extremely knowledgeable of literally everything he has within the museum and stories he has regarding his familys history dating all the way back to World War 1 are amazing. As a Marine, this is one museum would most definitely recommend to any service member, vet, or just any one who claims to be a military buff.
The owner of this place was Amazing. His items and knowledge blew us away. Gary Webb is so interesting to listen to. He put a personal touch to most of his artifacts. After three days in Savannah I would have to rate his museum as my favorite stop. This is a MUST see place. We were a group of seven and he captured all of us with the way he presented his stories.
One of the best experiences you can get in Savannah. An incredible collection of history that has a personal connection to the owner - Mr. Webb. He is one of the nicest and most amazing people I have ever met. His explanations and stories are great and incredibly informative. It is WELL worth the money and time as you won’t find anything like this anywhere else…
Fun and family owned mini museum. Go see this guys personal collection of military uniforms and related gear. Super friendly staff.
What an amazing find while in town. Ive never had such a personal experience at a museum. Its such a great touch to be welcomed at the door and start with a personal story that explains so much. Mr. Webb has a true love of history and preserving it. I highly suggest anyone that has a love of military history to stop, look and listen. So much here to be learned. Thanks again for such a great time.
Gary was an excellent host, he took the time to tell us about his collection and some history of Savannah! The museum has so much and if you really take your time, you will find some truly amazing items.
Very interesting gem tucked away in Savannah. It was a pleasure meeting Mr. Webb and looking through his museum/collection- his personal stories certainly enhance the experience. There was a group ahead of us with children and he was great about answering their questions and explaining things to them.Definitely check it out.
The museum was very nicely laid out, so many interesting items. Not like most museums, we actually got to touch certain items. Mr Webb greeted us and told us a brief history of it which was really nice. He was extremely friendly and engaging.
My husband and I had a wonderful time, this is a must-see stop in Savannah. I’ve been to more than one military museum but none are quite as personal or extensive as this.Mr. Webb personally greets each of his guests and will share any stories and information about any of the pieces in the museum. He has some really neat items, too. Make sure to take your time with each exhibit.Mr. Webb is very friendly and very knowledgeable, we loved chatting with him!
If you are a military/American history buff this is the perfect place for you. This isnt your typical museum. The curator is a local who personally collected each piece and takes the time to explain the stories behind his collection. Its about the men and women who owned these items, not just the history. I teared up a few times reading some of the stories. Alice who greeted us at the front was absolutely wonderful. She personalized the experience for us and answered any and every question we had. She even showed us some things that hadnt quite made it out into the museum yet. Definitely carve some time out in your day to go see this collection and say hi to Alice for us!
Amazing collection. He has stuff from all the American wars, including uniforms, guns, medals, and tons of other things. Any history bluffs will love this place.
Do not miss this if you are in Savannah. It is a really cool place all from a personal collection. Artifacts from many different conflicts and time periods. Both sides of conflicts. The best part is Mr Webb telling you about what is there. Discount for veterans free for active duty and active guard and reserve.
This was the greatest experience I have ever had in a museum before! Gary Webb is a iconic hero and his passion for military history is unmatched! This is a must stop for history buffs!
Tons and tons of war memorabilia from WWI through the cold War here. Lots of history to view and read through. Lots and lots of newspaper articles regarding each step of WWI. DEFINITELY a must see if you are visiting Savannah.
We had such an amazing time!! This is a private collection that is being gifted to us all. The quality of the pieces were unbelievable. Mr Webb was so lovely!! It was such a treat to hear his family legacy that he so graciously shares with the public. My 13 year old daughter who is a history nut fell in love with this museum. Mr Webb was so kind to share his knowledge with my kids. He went above and beyond to point out different must sees. He even went above and beyond and gifted me with authentic medals that my grandfather was awarded during his time serving in the Air Force. I would have never been able to find these authentic medals myself. And it was such a blessing that Mr Webb was so kind! These medals mean more than he will ever know. This is a MUST SEE if you’re in the Savannah area!!
This museum had an amazing collection. Its a large collection of military artifacts, and what I found incredible was the quality of the pieces. Absolutely fantastic historic items. Some of it was surprising, some awesome, some funny, and some incredibly moving. Im glad we visited this museum. Well worth the price of admission and clearly the result of year of hard work. Thank you to Mr. Webb and his family for the wonderful contribution to the world. Would definitely recommend.
This is an amazing collection. Its a large personal collection of military artifacts, and what I found incredible was the quality of the pieces. Some of these look like they were brought in by time travelers. Absolutely fantastic items. Some of it was surprising, some awesome, some funny, and some incredibly moving. Im so glad we visited. Well worth the price of admission and clearly the result of a years long labor of love. Thank you to Webb and his family for this wonderful contribution to the world.
Great little surprise we ran into while trekking around Savannah. Gary has a mind boggling collection of war artifacts from the past 200 years. Hes also very knowledgeable of everything he owns and tries to make it all tell a story to show the human angle. Very impressed. At first thought the $10 admission a bit high, but then I realized its well worth it to keep a little gem like this open to the public. Do yourself a favor if you appreciate history and go check this place out.
Very nice collection of military memorabilia from many decades and wars. Highly recommend for any history buffs.
This is definitely a must when you visit Savannah. It gives children an appreciation for all of the lives that have been lost for their freedom today. Children have the option to complete a scavenger hunt on the self-guided walking tour for a prize at the end. My children loved their prize. I could spend hours in this museum looking at all of the artifacts and pieces of what makes us the great country that we are. Very informational and engaging experience.
This is a great private collection of the owner. If you like to see a whole bunch of old war items Lake knives and guns. This the place. They have war uniforms to alot of different information.
This is a nice small museum that has Civil War to some more current uniforms. The owner was not present during our stroll through but it is an impressive collection by a private owner. Mainly uniforms with weapons and other artifacts mixed in. Nice collection of bomber style jackets.
Amazing experience! Mr. Gary educated us on so many levels. Highly recommend especially if you have a love for military history.
Excellent small museum. As other reviews state, its owned by one collector who has accumulated these items in various ways during his life. It may be a small museum overall, but the quality and stories behind each item is what is amazing. Despite the museums size, its easy to spend at least 30 minutes to an hour looking at everything.Highly recommend this museum if you are at all into military history. The owner is very friendly, and is more than willing to show his enthusiasm for everything in the museum especially if it isnt busy.
You cant go wont with this museum if you are into military history, this guy has a substantial collection. He is super nice and informative at the same time, me and my wife both loved it. $10 per adult*
really cool military collection from nearly all of American history. Mr Webb is an amazing collector with info on everything hes got. place even had a scavenger hunt for kids and get a patch at the end.
Wow I cant believe how many times my wife and I have driven or ridden our bikes around this place and never came in.This museum is incredible. Apparently this was/is the private collection of a Gary Webb, and he decided to display it to the public. It is amazing what a collection of memorabilia he is sharing with us!If you are coming to Savannah or if you live here, come see this place, it is a MUST see whether you are a war or military buff or not.Judy was our hostess, what a great lady, very knowledgeable and loves what she does, the museum is lucky to have her.
