Waterfall of San Ramón - Tourist attraction in Jinotepe, Nicaragua
Heenweg duurde 2 uur, terugweg ongeveer 1 uur. De entree was volgens mij zo’n €3.
WARNING: 27th July 2022 myself and partner were assaulted and robbed by two masked men armed with machetes and knives on this trail. Speaking with guides and locals this happens rarely but not is unheard of. Do not take any cash, valuables or passports!
Very good hike. You can do it with kids. At the end you can have a bath in the waterfall. We think it might be a litlle longer than we expected but definetly worth it.The waterfall was so beatiful! Also we saw lots of monkeys!!!!!!!!!!!
Recommend using an ATV over a dirt bike to get up the trail. Its very rocky on the incline so an ATV just feels more stable. The hike was good, there are some parts where you have to climb over and in-between rocks so be prepared for that. Waterfall was the perfect temperature, fresh water. Beautiful. Came in January and there was fair water flow. A couple months later into the dry season I dont think that hot hike would be worth it.
This hike requires no guide and leads to a beautiful waterfall. When we arrived at the waterfall we were basically alone and only met more monkeys than other people on the way. The hike itself is quite nice as well. Small entrance fee 3$ pP is required at the entrance. Probably more than 3 km though (from the very start as scooters cannot make it to the parking lot)
English belowSolo 1h30 para subir, 1h30 para bajar. Vale la pena, es barato (100 córdobasy es super bonito !Only 1h30 to go up and 1h30 to go down! Its definitely worth it, its cheap (100 córdobasand its beautiful
The hike is worth it
A worthwhile hour-or-so hike from the parking (if you have an ATV or motorbiketo reach this beautiful waterfall. The water is cold and refreshing and the setting on volcan Maderas is special. The hike is doable in trainers but you have to do a bit of rock-hopping across different points of the river to get up to the top. We saw howler monkeys and a couple of snakes on our way up too! Definitely recommend when on Ometepe.
Gentle tall cascada!
Easy walk even from the main gate. Around 4km up. Worth it. Beautiful and almost had to break my neck just to see the top of the waterfall. Stunning and satisfying walk up.
Long walk through the jungle, we walked quite fast and it still took us around 1h30. It can also get quite slippery so dont do it in flip flops! Also dont forget to bring a water bottle. On the way we got to see lots of monkeys, several birds and a lot of ant highways that are carrying leafs around. Highly recommend!
Took us like 2.5h in total walking and was definitly worth it, the waterfall was an astonishing view and great cooling-off from the walk
Sorprendente , lindo, sensacional…. Orgullo de mi patria … Nicaragua hermosa
Would be PERFECT if you could go under the water but its too shallow ...after a grueling hot hike a swim would have been lovely.... its Naturally GORGEOUS but wish they would dig to deepen it for submersion 💧 hey a girl can dream ✨ Lovely people Lovely country we drove quads fun but bumpy dirt roads from the hotel then hiked jungle trails to the falls 💦
It was an amazing experience , but I recomend to bring water 😅
Amazing spot ! To go there is quite important to hire a motorcycle instead of a scooter !
Take youre time and look up or you will miss the monkey families. ( Tip is to go there with a 4x4, to be able to drive to the start of the trail instead of hiking the 2 km)
Its a bit longer then the 3kms they tell you at the gate. We did it during dry season which is our mistake because there was barely any water. Still a good chance to see some birds and other wild life but there are better waterfalls in Nicaragua.
Experiencia 100% recomendada. ⛰🧗♀️
Good jungle walk. If you hire a knowledgeable guide youll learn a lot on the way. Pay attention to the ants. There are plenty of bullet ants - named after the painful sting.
The hike to the waterfall is great, but longer than 3km. From the last sign (only 1km left), you need more than 30min. So dont give up, it is worth every step! The road to San Ramon is not the best and the easiest is to come by motorbike, quad or car. At the port of San Ramon you will find the entrance. You pay 95 NIO per person and the hike starts. Depending on your physical fitness, you need 60-90min to reach the waterfall. The water is very refreshingly cold and the nature arround simply amazing!A must do here on the island!
We rode horses from our hotel to the waterfall, nice relaxing 70 minute ride up followed by a 25 minute hike. We went in April 2018, unfortunately there wasn’t a lot of water on the falls but still very refreshing to stand in the mist. Will have to come back again in rainy season to fully appreciate the waterfall!
nice not long hike.i recomend you come up nore further to middle park place by enduro motorbike.from that place it is like 30 mins up to waterfall.you can cool down your body inaide the little pool :)
Aktuell kostet der Eintritt 3 US Dollar.
Amazing waterfall. Hike is straightforward for the able body. Could be a bit long for older folks. But just take breaks and youll get there. You can also catch a ride from a local to KM 1.5 for some extra cash if you want to make it easier. You will have to pay about 3 USD at the gate at the bottom. They let us leave our scooter helmets in the office there though. Hardest part was getting to the trailhead. We doubled on scooters but this was a lot more difficult then we anticipated because of the road conditions (loose gravel with softball sized rocks). Tourists on quads or dirt bikes were ripping by us no problem though. Even singles on scooters looked a lot easier. Totally worth going under the waterfall at the top though!
Beautiful waterfall. Great hike through the jungle. Easy to do but dont wear flipflops!! From the restaurant to the top 5 km, took us 1,5 hour.
Easy hike, the waterfall is beautiful.
its one hell of a hike but totally worth it! Go up most the way on horseback unless you are a very capable hiker. be sure if you are visiting in drier seasons that the falls are actually flowing!
Llevar agua. Pero la recompensa es una bella cascada. Vale la pena conocer.Beautiful place of nature in the Maderas volcano on the Ometepe Island. Preferably wear shoes. Bring water. You have to walk 2 hours to the waterfall, but the reward is a beautiful waterfall. It is worth know.
Definitely worth the 3 hours of hike. Very nice waterfall up there.
Long walk through the jungle to go there, but a nice very high waterfall.
Awesome AmericaCentral
Amazing, crazy hike to get there. Note to self, dont wear flip flops ;)
