Waterfall El Nicho in Cienfuegos

un sitio genial con buenas vistas, rodeado de naturaleza y si vas un poco a tu aire puedes disfrutar de la naturaleza completamente solo o con tus acompañantes.Lo único que no me gusto tanto es que al ser turistas te cobran una entrada muy superior que a alguien de allí.Creo que pague 10€ por una visita de 2h aprox. y vas sin nadie que te explique ni nada, simplemente te dicen donde esta el camino y que tu lo sigas.

La verdad, para los km que hay que hacer hasta llegar allí y luego volver, y los 10€ que cuesta entrar (que me parecieron el mayor robo de Cubano lo recomendaría para nada. Dicen que hay otra cascada en Trinidad mucho más bonita. Pero bueno, las fotos quedan bonitas

We went from cienfuegos to El Nicho. Trip was suppose to cost 15 euro pp we ended up paying 20 euro pp for the trip and 10 euro pp entrance fee. We were travelling with 6 in one car. Make sure to watch out for all included trips. I really cant grasp the idea that a government organisation would ask for euro instead of CUP.El Nicho itself is beautiful, small and bit crowded (we went in low season). The place itself is not big, 500m walk from the parking. Water is very refreshing cold.Image shows all entry prices for El Nicho and wide surroundings.

Fui de propósito às cascatas del nicho. Cheguei lá, como já não tinha euros, não conseguimos entrar. Estrangeiros só podem pagar com euros ou dólares (10€ por pessoa). Não podem pagar com moeda local. Tivemos de voltar para trás sem conhecer. Acho isto completamente absurdo.

Luogo incontaminato, magnifico. Imprescindibile se siete nei paraggi di Cienfuegos o Trinidad. Si può fare il bagno nelle piscine naturali, fare un po’ di hiking o rinfrescarsi ammirando le cascate. È presente un bar/ristorante in loco

Best activity I went on in Cuba!!! Absolutely stunning waterfalls that you can swim in, theres even a jungle tour to a cave. We got a taxi from Cienfuegos and got there around 10:30 (come as early as possible because it got busy later on).

El Nicho è un luogo meraviglioso, se cercate la Cuba più incantata e incontaminata dovete assolutamente venire qua.Un percorso segnalato in mezzo alla giungla tropicale vi porterà a delle cascate fantastiche. Certo, arrivare può essere un problema ma ne vale la pena!

Luogo imprescindibile a mio avviso per chiunque venga a cuba, non certamente facile da raggiungere, ma se si passa da cienfuegos o da Trinidad vale certamente la pena di passarci una giornata qua, adatto per gli amanti della natura e non, percorso facilmente percorribile anche da anziani e bambini, esperienza raramente ripetibile, prima arrivi la mattina meglio è, possibilità di ristorazione in loco.

Awesome spot to hike and bath. Definitely worth the visit!There is also another waterfall & swimming pond down the hill off the parting lot. So If you not too keen to pay the entrance, just go to the other one, that is also great.I have captured the way from Trinidad - make sure you get 4x4

Hermoso lugar, naturaleza pura y bastante diversidad, ideal para caminata, bañarse o avistar aves. El ingreso cuesta a 10 cuc, y afuera hay restaurante mas barato que adentro donde cuesta algo mas caro. Buenas instalaciones y baños al ingreso. La caminata hacia las cataratas te toman 15 minutos desde el ingteso.

A great place to visit and only a short hike. I recommend it to anyone.

The best waterfall in all of Cuba. The water isnt strong, but clear and a bit cold, which is exactly what I needed after lots of sun. I was able to use my snorkeling gear, but not necessary. There arent many fish. If youre flexible and strong you can get up the rocks and try a jump, the water is deep, but the rocks slippery. The entree is 10 cuc and no fee for parking.

I was expecting something truly beautiful out in the nature. But the sight was ruined by dozens of obese tourists swimming and littering the area. They shouldnt be allowed out of the pathways. Given how bad it was the entrance price is another cuban scam.

Beautiful setting and lovely water for swimming. Short walk through some easy terrain to get to the pools - good fun to go off the trails and explore the surrounding jungle. Quite expensive access.

If you are nature lovers and waterfalls in particularly then this is exactly the place for you! El Nicho is located in a beautiful nature reserve, the long river creates gorgeous waterfalls and turquoise pools that you can swim at.It is not too far away from Cienfuegos and you can combine it as a day trip on your way from Cienfuegos to Trinidad or the opposite way too of course.There are two parts to the place: the upper and lower part which for both you enter with the same ticket you bought at the entrance. The tour is included with your entrance ticket and lasts about an hour and a half, after the tour you will have to leave the guided part (the upper oneto make room for the next groups but you can go to the lower part (which is a little bit less impressive but still beautifuland spend there as much time as you want.Enjoy!
