This is a great place to visit. There is a small entrance fee but its worth it. The Buddah sits in a cave and the size is impressive. There are lots of other shrines around. Not to mention the monkeys on arrival. There are street vendors selling bananas and sweetcorn for the monkeys. Well worth a visit.

It was basically a big cave. A large & beautiful sleeping Buddha was inside the lime stone cave. My wife had to burrow Lungee to cover her knees. Cave had a big hall where there were many Buddha statues. Up hill cave walk led us to an open field above. A beautiful cave & Reclining Buddha.

Lots of friendly monkeys but they throw the 🍌 away. They only want the corn. You have to haggle hard with the vendors for the monkey food. Cave Buddha is pretty cool. Loved all the Indian tourists writing their names on the wall next to the big sign that says dont write on the wall.

Cave temple was alright, the most fun part about this place is all the monkeys outside of it. Vendors sell bananas and corn to feed them.

Temple carved into a large cave network. A wonderfully tranquil place for reflection and thought. Photos are permitted. Watch out for the monkeys. 30 mins is enough

Cave temple with beautiful reclining Buddha and statues, plus you get to walk around the cave. Can also buy nuts and fruit to feed the monkeys. 20 B entrance fee to cave. Don’t go if you’re scared of animals- lots of dogs, pigeons and monkeys around plus bats in the cave. Although the animals don’t bother you if you haven’t got food for them.

WAT SUWAN KUHA TEMPLE IN PHANG NGAis the ideal escape for the cosmopolitan traveler seeking the best of Phukets exquisite natural beauty, stylish and thoughtful accommodations, and cultural charm. Indeed, Aleenta Phuket strives to connect its guests with fascinating regional cultural and historic sites. With this mission in mind, the resort offers convenient transport to the Tham Suwan Kuha Temple, a unique and extraordinary Buddhist temple located inside of a large natural cavern set into a limestone mountain on the Thai mainland. Though some in-the-know tourists to the Phang Nga region are keen to the temple, its an gem unknown to most foreigners.

The main attraction at the temple seems to be feeding the monkeys by Do not feed the monkeys sign. You can food for the from the vendors. Buy corn and you get much more monkey friends - bananas are so last season for them.Inside the temple cave put some coins to the fortune teller buddhas and have a great video 👍

This is a respected religious place, the history behind it is very interesting but "interest is subjective". I was sold more by the history of the cave than the cave itself. Its also known as Monkey Temple because of the many monkeys that are outside the cave dont mistake this place as Monkey Island. You can feed the monkeys with bananas, however, DO NOT HOLD OR TOUCH THE MONKEY, I can not express that further. The Bananas are sold near by for around 100 Baht.

Beautiful Buddhist Statues situated in a cave. Be mindful, we had a man give us a tour around and was very helpful. I really enjoyed the experience however at the end he asked for a 20baht fee. Thats ok it wasnt about the money but its best to communicate if their is a small fee first because sometimes you might forget to bring your wallet or might not have money on you.

We paid 20฿ for the entrance fee. A worshipping place inside a cave. Has different colour of lights installed to elevate the cave atmosphere. The cave is not deep, it consist just a main chamber near the entrance which houses many Buddha statues. And another chamber at the back which has no significant sighting apart from natural formation.Overall would still recommend if youre around the area.

Small temple, with several nice statues of Buddha inside. 20 baht entrance fee. Outside its a rock full of cute monkeys, which you can feed with peanuts and bananas (of course, there are several local sellers for those). Visited this as part of "James Bond Island" trip.

Nice place with many many monkeys. I recommend to come here by car or motorbike and not with a guided bus.Come after 1pm after the guided tour crowd left this place. After that, you can enjoy the silent and peaceful place for your own and you can feed the monkeys.

This place is mainly a cave that has been converted into a temple, featuring a large reclining Buddha statue. Outside the cave is an area where free-roaming monkeys may be encouraged and where feeding is permitted. Beside the main cave is a smaller, darker cave where a fair number of bats can be found relaxing.Be aware that as of 2019-12-28, this place charges foreigners a 20 Baht admission fee, but no fee to Thai people. This racial discrimination, while mild, is the main reason why Im not giving this place a full score.

Amazing place with a lot of monkeys and greenery around it is inside a cave and looks stunning it’s on the way of Phi phi island so you must visit it and take the blessing of lord Buddha and the aura is so calming and amazing that you feel positive and energetic. A lot to explore so be ready to enjoy the short trip to this temple.

This review is from the perspective of a non-Buddhist tourist. The temple itself is truly ok, it is not as ornate as anything else we have seen in Thailand. Be careful when exploring the caves as certain sections are slick and the lighting provided does more harm than good for visibility. We really just came up for the monkeys. There are plenty of vendors nearby selling packages of food which can be distributed to the monkeys. Word of warning dont wear jewelery or other accessories that can easily be snatched as the monkeys wont think twice. We did not have anything taken but we did see the monkeys get away with other peoples things.

We passed The Coffee Club, mistakenly believing it was just a coffee house. It actually is a restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as coffee and snacks. The menu is extensive and staff totally cater to your needs. There were a couple of vegetarians in our group and the chefs were able to adapt dishes to suit veggie requirements. The Vegan burger and sweet potato fries, shrimp and prawn pasta, salmon steak and a beautiful mixed veg salad were so delicious. We shall definitely visit again to taste a breakfast/lunch menu. Highly recommend this place. Serving staff are also so kind and friendly.

Wat Suwan Khuha is one of the province’s important temples due to its historical and archaeological background.Decorated with ceramic tiles and crockery throughout its length, this cave serves as a wihan (chapelwhere several Buddha images are enshrined. The most important one is the Reclining Buddha. In another cave, there are royal initials of kings and members of the royal family, such as King Rama V the Great, King Rama VII and Queen Rambhaibarni, King Rama IX the Great, etc.The temple is always on my list to visit when I am in the area. When you enter the temple through its mountain side entrance you get an almost mystical feel as you enter the temple cave complex.. Of course, (as listed in many of the reviews here), the giant reclining Buddha is amazing and makes for great photos especially with the interior cave geology providing the back ground. Behind the reclining Buddha are some stairways cut from the natural rock that take you to some little enclaves where you can see many of the temples cultural treasures and historical relics. Try not to be lazy. Climb the few meters of stairs and be sure to check these areas out.At the far end of the main temple complex is a set of stairs that take you to a landing partially in and out of the cave. This location always gives me a "Indiana Jones" tingle as in one direction you stare off into thick jungle and the mountain sides sheer rock face. Looking the other way you see a vast cave complex used for centuries by monks for meditation. Walking these natural rock paths one cannot feel the history and imagine the many people who have ascended this walkway throughout history seeking spiritual calm and enlightenment. This part of the cave is home to many bats that line the ceilings adding to the mystic of the place. The smell of bat guano in this area can be a bit strong and one should be careful where they walk however in my opinion this all just adds to the experience. The monkeys that "hang Out" on the outside of the cave are always entertaining to watch and feed if you like but as mentioned in many of the posts be careful sometimes they can be a little less than polite, snatching food out of your hand with intimidating intent. Watch your young children closely as those little monkey buggers totally know who the easy targets are. :)Lastly if you are there at the right time of day a monk will come in to the temple and sit directly in front of the reclining Buddha. If you want he will give you a blessing, complete with water spray and a hand made colored string for your wrist. He will Tie the string on men but will only drape the string on ladies as they are not permitted to touch women. Always try to sit lower than the monk ( or have your head lowerout of respect for the culture, tradition and religion...AND REMEMBER - This is a temple so bring some respectful clothes with you. Bikini Tops and short shorts are NOT appropriate.Lastly the temple is a "temple" so please do not put graffiti on the walls like (I am stupid was here 2019as many disrespectful people have been doing this for reasons only their psychiatrist would know.Cheers

You have to be careful from the monkeys. If you are holding food on your hand they will come for it and will not wait for you to give them. Better to not take food or feed them. Watch and go. Also if you are taking the city tour and will visit Big Budha and other temples then they are mostly the same. Try to make sure of the tour stop points as some of the tour reservations desks will not tell you all the things which if you know you can skip.

Pretty cool cave system with a weird stair top dead end. It is possible to get some good pictures without other tourists in the frame. Just be patient. Easy 10 minute drive out of town. Way too many monkeys that get a bit aggressive over food handouts from patrons. No worries. Im sure they have rabies vaccines nearby.

Beautiful place, and you are greeted by monkeys when you arrive. It has a big gold lying Buddha and similar statues through out. There is a cave if you follow the stairs through the main entrance . you can explore but put on your flashlight and be careful the floors are wet. really nice would definitely recommend a visit if your in the area.

Went as part of an overall excursion, though saw it was only 20 baht for public entry. Monkeys were cool, a bit cheeky, not a good idea to have food in your hand without looking, saw a monkey snatch a pack of peanuts out of someones hands 😂 inside the cave was cool, saw some bats and the bhuddist statues. Quite short, could probably spend about a maximum of 30 mind before getting a bit bored. Was a visit.

A 45 years old temple in a cave that is proably millions of year old. Girls are supposed to cover their legs while going inside the temple. The image of resting buddha and the caves of light and dark are the main attractions in the cave. One should be carefull as stairs inside cave are steep and someplace have a difficult access.

Simple but notable temple that is built into a cave. The reclining golden Buddha radiates against the rocks and with incense and candles burning, the ambience is reverent whilst still welcoming to tourists and visitors. Wat Tham Suwan Khuha is also home to an army of primates. They literally rule the area and are very skilled at pilfering your food. This has however left a sorrying amount of litter about the place.

This is one of my favorite things that I saw in the area. The temple is really beautiful as well as all of the Buddha sculptures inside. The cave was really beautiful too. I wish there was clearer signage of which way is up and which is down to help aid all the traffic on the stairs inside. The best part about this temple is definitely the monkeys. Theyre very cute and very sociable. They come right up to you and will steal your thing so dont have lost items on you. Totally recommend!

Good to see Wat Suwan Kuha (aka Cave Temple aka Monkey templeThis place is on the main road between Phuket and Krabi ,We visited here on the way back from James Bond island. Was really interesting and lovely to see the different Buddha around the caves. Equally as interesting especially for kids is the monkeys that live outside the caves, feed them with the fruit on sale.
