This is a one of Khmer pagoda located in Bartambang, Cambodia. The temple has a long story about it. If you travel to Battambang you can spend a half day for cycling to explore by yourself around area. Outside the pagoda a long the temples fence you will see many local stores selling the special foods know as "Stick bamboo rice" please try to eat it when you come there. I hope you will have a great time in your journey.

Old historic place related to the khmer rouge. Well worth a visit if you find yourself in Battambang. I arrived late in the afternoon at the temple and I didnt have to pay anything.

វត្តសំរោងក្នុងវត្តសំរោងក្នុង គឺជាវត្តមួយដែលមានអាយុកាលចាស់ជាងគេក្នុងខេត្តបាត់ដំបង ដែលមានទី តាំងស្ថិតនៅភូមិសំរោងក្នុង ឃុំសំរោងក្នុង ស្រុកឯកភ្នំ ខេត្តបាត់ដំបង ស្របតាមមដងស្ទឹងសង្កែត្រើយខាងកើត មានចម្ងាយជាង ៥គីឡូម៉ែត្រពីទីរួមខេត្ត។វត្តបុរាណនេះ មានផ្ទៃដីសរុប ២៩, ៩៣៧ ម៉ែត្រក្រឡា ដែលមានព្រំប្រទល់ ខាងកើតទល់នឹងមាត់អូរសំរោងក្នុង ខាងជើងទល់នឹងអនុវិទ្យាល័យសំរោងក្នុង និងភូមិអ្នកស្រុក ខាងត្បូងទល់នឹងភូមិអ្នកស្រុក និងខាងលិចទល់នឹងវាលស្រែឈ្មោះវាលកោះ។វត្តសំរោងក្នុង កកើតឡើងក្នុងឆ្នាំ ជូត សំរឹទ្ធិស័ក្ក ព.ស២៥៥០ គ.ស ១៧០៧ ដោយវត្តនេះបានដាក់ឈ្មោះតាម ដើមសំរោងធំមួយ ដែលមានអង្កត់ផ្ជឹត ២ម៉ែត្រ ហើយជាកន្លែងដែលធុត្តុង្គជ័យ តាំងអាស្រមហើយបន្តាប់មកក្លាយជាកន្លែងស័ក្កិសិទ្ធិសំរេចបំណង បន់ស្រន់តាមអបិយជំនឿ របស់អ្នកមុខអ្នកការ និងប្រជាពលរដ្ឋរហូតដល់សព្វថ្ងៃនេះ។ ព្រះវិហារចាស់ដែលបានសាងសង់នៅក្នុងវត្តសំរោង ក្នុងសព្វថ្ងៃនេះ គឺត្រូវបានសាងសង់ឡើងក្នុងឆ្នាំ ១៨៩០ ជំនួសព្រះវិហារចាស់មុន ដែលសង់អំពីឈើសុទ្ធ ដោយលោកម្ចាស់ កថាថននុង និងសាងដោយទ្រព្យធនលោកម្ចាស់នាយព្រះឃ្លាំងម៉ៅ លោកជំទាវ អីង ត្រូវជាឳពុកក្មេក លោកម្ចាស់ កថា ថន ឈុំ ជាស្តេចត្រាញ់ចុងក្រោយនៃខេត្តបាត់ដំបង សម្រាប់ព្រះសង្ឃធ្វើកម្មនា នា (ឩបោសថកម្ម កឋិនកម្ម បរិវាសកម្ម និងឩប្បសម្បទាកម្មធ្វើកិច្ចវត្តព្រឹកល្ងាច ដោយនៅផ្នែកខាងក្នុងព្រះវិហារមានដាក់ដំកល់ពុទ្ធបដិមាដ៍សំខាន់មួយ មានព្រះនាមអង្គជីរ៍។ នៅឆ្នាំ១៨៨៧ ព្រះគ្រូចៅអធិការទី៧ នៃវត្តសំរោងក្នុងបាន កសាងប្រាសាទឥដ្ឋមួយ ដើម្បីដម្កល់អដ្ឋិធាតុព្រះចៅអធិការវត្តជំនាន់មុនៗ ។ វត្តសំរោង ក្នុងសម័យខ្មែរក្រហម ១៩៧៥ ដល់១៩៧៩ ។ ចាប់ពីឆ្នាំ១៩៧៦ វត្តសំរោងក្នុងត្រូវបានប្រែក្លាយពីបូជនីយដ្ឋាន មកជាគុក របស់ខ្មែរក្រហម ទាំងស្រុង ។ ព្រះសង្ឃក្នុងវត្តទាំងអស់ត្រូវបានចាប់ផ្សឹក ហើយបង្ខំអោយធ្វើការងារផ្សេងៗ ជាទម្ងន់ ដូចជា ជីកប្រឡាយ (សព្វថ្ងៃអ្នកស្រុកហៅថាប្រឡាយលោក)។ តាមសំដីអ្នកស្រុកដែលត្រូវខ្មែរក្រហមចាប់មកឃុំនៅវត្ត នេះ ដែលនៅរស់រៀនមានជីវិត បានអោយដឹងថា៖ សាលាបាយត្រូវបានធ្វើជាគុក សម្រាប់ដាក់អ្នកទោសកម្រិត ស្រាល រឺឯសាលាធម្មសភា ត្រូវបានប្រើឃុំឃាំងអ្នកទោសបុរសកម្រិតធ្ងន់ ហើយព្រះវិហារសម្រាប់ដាក់អ្នកទោស ដែលភាគច្រើនជាស្រ្តី ហើយកុដិឈើធំមួយខ្នងនៅក្បែរព្រះវិហារថ្មី ជាកន្លែងស្នាក់នៅរបស់ខ្មែរក្រហម ចំណែកអាគារមួយចំនួនទៀត ត្រូវបានប្រើជាកន្លែងធ្វើទារុណកម្ម និងសួរចម្លើយ ។ ប្រជាជនស្លូតត្រង់ជាច្រើនត្រូវ បានពួកខ្មែរក្រហមសម្លាប់ និងទម្លាក់ក្នុងរណ្តៅ នៅចន្លោះឆ្នាំ ១៩៧៥ - ១៩៧៩ លលាដ៍ក្បាល និងអដ្ឋិធាតុប្រមាណ ១០០៨ នាក់ ត្រូវបានគេជីកកកាយពីរណ្តៅ ហើយប្រមូលទុកក្នុងស្តូប សម្រាប់រំលឹកដល់មហាសោកនាដកម្មដ៍ឈឺ ចាប់ និងខ្លោចផ្សាបំផុត របស់ប្រជាជនខ្មែរ ឲ្យស្អប់ខ្ពើមសង្រ្គាម និងឧទ្ទិសដល់វិញ្ញាណក្ខន្ធអ្នកដែលបាត់បង់ជីវិតនា សម័យនោះ ។ ក្រោយសម័យខ្មែរក្រហមដួលរលំ វត្តសំរោងក្នុងត្រូវបានរំដោះ នៅថ្ងៃទី ១៣ ខែមករា ឆ្នាំ១៩៧៩ ។ យោងតាមមជ្ឍមណ្ឌលឯកសារកម្ពុជា ក្រោយពេលរបបខ្មែរក្រហមដួលរលំ មានរណ្តៅសាកសពសរុបចំនួន ១០០ រណ្តៅ នៅជុំវិញបរិវេណបូជនីយដ្ឋានសព្វថ្ងៃ ។

Another temple, but the ruins behind was cool. $2 entry, only pay the Tourist police.

Its an all new temple. There is a house that was used as a jail, and you can also see the torture museum, if youre interested in khmer history.

Small but powerfull memorial that explains the dark history of Khmer Rouge

Worth going there if you want to explore the area for couple of days otherwise nothing really different from other temples in the area. So peaceful that it feels abandoned. It wasn’t possible to visit inside the building when I went there wondering if it’s like that all the time.
