the huge reclining Buddha with Yellow Robe is so grand, so beautiful, whatever from a distant at the front, or come close to the details ! the nearby Luang Phor Khao Ancient Vihara Ruin has a lot of stories, a lot of details (but we didn’t go in and disturb the nun there! too bad, we missed the modern multi-storey building at the back; is it a wat or a vihara ?

I came here because I took the scooter to Wat Muang and saw this sign of the reclining Buddha at Wat Khun. It is in fact one of the biggest reclining ones in Thailand.Although I have to stay that the Buddha sculpture is in a very aged condition.Still worth the visit if you are nearby. But definitely prefer Wat Muang over this if I had to choose.

The sleeping Buddha at the area is not only the biggest one, its also very old. The temple and the area itself is worth to visit. Take some time for relax there....

The Wat is OK for a short visit while visiting the way more popular Great Buddha of Thailand, Phra Buddha Maha Nawamin. Make sure you visit both wats on a day trip from Ayutthaya.

Famous reclining Buddha at suburb Ang thong. That shape is so beautiful and have a calm face. You may feel difficult to access here because temple apart from Angthong city center. I recommended you to ride a chartered tuktuk. Sights is OK.Oct_2017
