Waskesiu River Trail - Hiking area in La Ronge, Canada
Short and relatively easy trail. The highlight is the first third of the trail along the boardwalk, where mossy forest is broken by stunning views of the river. The other two thirds of the trail are a fairly regular forest trail, with some light hills.Walk can be completed within an hour at a regular pace.Recommended for those up for a nice walk without a major challenge.
Stunning as usual
Nice easy walk along the river on the board walk .once in the forest I would recommend good hiking boots as the trail has many roots and bug spray for the mosquitoes.
The trail (other than boardwalkmight be a challenge to some but it is beautiful. Only 2.5 km with roots and some inclines. Worth the drive.
Beautiful
Relaxing place as you trail. Full of history.
Lovely little river. You can enjoy the calming and soothing sound of the flowing water, chirping of birds and rustling of the tree leaves.Boardwalk needs a little love but walking on it allows you to enjoy a relaxing walk through the side of the river. Youll be able to see how healthy the Waskesiu ecosystem is.Lots of mosquitoes during summertime so make sure to dress appropriately and put on some insect repellant. :)
What a gem. Burbling water, beautiful trees…..lovely walk
Alway a relaxing walk
A great trail with beautiful view. Can be walked by person of any age.
Home of my favorite rock. Easy trail along the river and accessible for people who arent as mobile as some people. Enjoy it whenever Im in Waskesiu
It was a great hike, not too long. The boardwalk could use some minor maintenance.
Easy trail, a quarter of which is boardwalk. I cant get enough!
Awesome! .5 km boardwalk to start and then a 2 km shaded forest walk. The forest walk part has ups and downs hills. There are lots of roots as shown in the pictures,, so if you want a super easy walk, just turn around when you are done the board walk. Overall very peaceful.
Honestly Garbage
Nice easy trail starts with a boardwalk along the river leading to a forest trail with both spruce and poplar sections.
Its very nice trail for beginners. First 0.5 KM is wellaintaind sodden pathway with railing, wooden bridges over the Wasaksui river. There are multiple check points to view river and wildlife. After fist half km there is a 2 km long steep hike through the boreal forest. Does require bit of fitness to get through. There are deers, Elks and bears 🐻 in this area so please come prepared with bear spray, drinking water and a bit of survival gear.
Such a beautiful spot to relax.
Easy walk on the boardwalk and can just got out and back with a stroller. Fairly short if you have kids.
Nice short trail to take for an afternoon scenic hike
You will love it...
Always nice to walk this trail and see different wildlife on or near the River
Great trail for beginners.
Nice peaceful place.
Such an amazing trail year round. But do be a little careful, it can get slippery in winter.
Always our favorite trail. Nicely paved, clean, great for family with kids or pets.
Fantastic walk through the forest. The colours this time of year are amazing.
Very scenic.
Beautiful National Park...
August 30, 2020 - Really amazing hike for all age levels. 0.5km of boardwalk (east sidefollowed by 2.0kms of intermediate groomed trail for a total of 2.5kms.The boardwalk is impressive, and almost fully accessible. Some soft spots have made the boardwalk slanted in certain spots, but was still easy for a young family to use with their child and stroller. The views are spectacular. Well worth the stop and your time to enjoy the beauty of nature in Prince Albert National Park.
One of my favorite easy walks in the park 😁

Leisure time spending in Camping area for long weekend or vocationNever miss the chance to touch nature hard and deep

Awesome little hike. Theres a half kilometer boardwalk thats suitable for all ages and abilities, and another couple kms walk beyond that that showcases different forest types. Great way to spend a couple of hours.
Really nice in summer even in winter
