1050 Washington Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33139, United States, Miami Beach
This trendy, art deco style hotel in lively South Beach is a 6-minute walk from Miami Beach Boardwalk, and a 7-minute walk from dining and entertainment on Ocean Drive. The chic, retro rooms offer free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and minifridges, along with coffeemakers and rainfall showers. Upgraded rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows with pool or courtyard views, while suites add sitting areas. There's an outdoor pool, a sophisticated restaurant, and a lobby bar with courtyard seating, plus a local shuttle and loaner bikes. Pets are welcome.
Omg! If I could give more stars I would! I traveled alone with 2 small kids. They gave me a handicap room due to all the luggage I had.We had Starbucks coffee in the morning in the room. Nice and clean facilities. Managers were so very kind and welcoming.Child friendly too! There were outdoor places to eat breakfast (includedand places to play outdoor such as outdoor games, pool, beach area and more.
Great location. I loved the garden area. The pool was a decent size as well. Great location close to ocean drive, beach and restaurants. The room we stayed in was very small so I take a star out for that
Hotel is clean but the bathroom doesnt have a sink in it! Its in the main room and coffee making facilities leave a lot to be desired and the hotel needs updating the staff are helpful though. However the bar only opens a couple of hrs a day you cant order food the breakfast is so not worth the money better of going to the dinner across the road. Checking in and out is so long and drawn out took over 45 minutes because they where busy
Fantastic hotel. Staff were brilliant. Pam was very helpful especially when we had to leave our luggage. Rooms were nice. Location is excellent. Also offer sun loungers on beach with beach towels. Bar staff very friendly free cocktail on arrival. Would highly recommend a visit.
Great experience! Staff were helpful and friendly. The room was nice and clean. Location is perfect, we were within walking distance to the beach, shopping and nightlife. Parked the car in public parking overnight pretty much across the street and was half of what you pay for valet parking at the hotel. I would stay here again.
Room pictures were pretty accurate. Cleaning staff was very sweet, but the hotel service was very displeasing. Upon arriving, we had no towels, rags in our room and we only had a short time to shower and head out. We called the front desk to request some towels and they hadn’t come. After 30 minutes we went to the front desk and asked and we were told that they will “see what they can do” but an hour later... still no one had come. This set our night back. Luckily, the bed was extremely comfortable. The next morning we wake up and we hear a hotel staff member banging the room card against the door to ask us about check out at 10am, waking my boyfriend up when checkout wasn’t until 11pm. Location was convenient, valet was overpriced at $45 for the night. Would not stay again.
Extremely dirty floors in the rooms, had to wear shoes at all times. Very poor soundproofing, can hear anything and everything in the adjoining rooms and outside. Housekeeping didnt replace items which meant we had to waste time requesting them from reception for which they seemed to think it was our fault and we were asking for extra. Resort fee is expensive for the little benefit it provides. Very good location though.
Customer service is terrible. I already prepaid my room when I booked it online, upon arrival the front desk charged me again and claimed I never paid for the room. I kept arguing but nothing changed. Front desk phone line is already busy, luggage service takes forever to come to the rook waited almost 20mins. Don’t request any service because they will never come. Room is okay, the bed and couch is too soft made my back hurts after sleeping. The hotel shouldn’t be rated as a 4 stars hotel, I would give it like a 3.5 stars. The only good part is the location, easy access to beach, bars, and shops etc.
Not sure where to start! We stayed at this awful hotel for New Years... during the time of our stay we encountered problems right away, first thing we didn’t check into our room until after 6PM. We were put in a room that wasn’t done being clean, house keeping was literally in the room cleaning as we were entering our room, did I mention this is after 6PM two whole hours after check in time and we had been there since 12PM. We always had to ask for things that should have been in the room like towels, house keeping would always have one towel and not the other, you couldn’t get a face towel and a bath towel! We also had to ask for house keeping everyday. Floors in the room were dirty, refrigerator was rusty! They really need to be on Hotel Impossible! (the t.v showThe worst thing, the hotel Valet stole items out of our car! Not a good place to stay at all, we really regret staying four whole days and spending our money with them!
Great hotel, close to loads of restaurants and the beach is minutes away. The free bike hire was a highlight for me and I used it multiple times to explore the island and mainland miami. The staff are friendly and prompt, offering free water bottles to take away.I didnt give this place 5 stars as I thought the hotel rooms could be better maintained. That being said, what problems we encountered were rectified pretty fast.Would stay again.
Room was clean, Internet was fast. Hotel service was quite poor. Had to ask 5 times in one day to get fresh towels. Our room was not cleaned on our 2nd day. They seem to have a staff shortage because of NYE holiday. We were not offered a future discount or any accommodation as others were. Many people were angry. I won’t be staying there again
Valet parking $45... and a resort fee of $35.... they will nickle and dime you, with a dinky pool, beach is over 3 blocks away, my booking only asks how many rooms are you booking, I was there with my 2 Kids and was given a room with 1 bed. And they said hotel was booked had no choice... you can do much better then this.
Mixed but positive opinion. The bad is that rooms are small and house keeping a lottery. You never know if youll have towels, soap and coffee refilled and to what quantity. On the plus side, location is great, staff is incredibly friendly and there are many little bonuses like free water and ice cream.Three people in the particular stand out as awesome.
I would give this place zero star if its not due to the excellent service from hotel manager Roger. He goes out of his way to help me and my husband during the stay. I stay at hotels accumulatively over 6 months a year due to my work and Roger is definitely one of the best hotel managers I have ever met. He truly cares guests, has sympathy, and gets things done quickly.Major problems with the hotel that I dont think should ever happened. (I am only listing major issues here. Small issues like not being allowed to check in until 4pm even though the room is available and check-in time on confirmation from agency is 3pm are not included.)1. Mold smell in couple buildings. We booked junior suite and our original room is in building 4. The mold smell was so strong. After half day of breathing it, both my and my husbands throats started feeling itchy. If you stay at this hotel, especially if you have kids, please stay in the building where lobby is. We were showed rooms in three different buildings and the room we got there was fine.2. The shower was broken and there was only one poor guy to fix everything. The guys who was trying to fix our shower had to leave in the middle to fix something else. We had to wait for couple of hours to take a shower after swimming in the ocean so that we can grab dinner. If anything thats critical in your room is broken, I would say god bless you.
Great hotel. Great staff. The room was nice and clean. Very spacious with a balcony l )(junior suite )The welcome and goodbye cocktail is a nice touch. This location is very close to the beach, ocean drive and major attractions for that area.No issue or complaints. Walking distance was great for most all top food locations.
The building has a old smell. The rooms are small with very little closet space. Bathroom are just only for 1 person at a time. No power in bathroom to shave or blow dry hair. Pool was clean and the front desk personnel was nice. Parking in very expensive all around.
This place is dated and needs some work. That being said, the customer service is above and beyond anything Ive experienced. All staff were very helpful and easy to deal with. The extra amenities are a nice touch with bikes to borrow, an outdoor games area, free rides to the beach (only a couple blocks away), beach towels to borrow, and free bottled water. The quaintness of the art deco style of the hotel added to the appeal. The location is amazing; beach is close, lots of restaurants and shops too. Id definitely stay here again.
We were allowed to check in early since the room was available, customer service was great, everyone was smiling, helpful and friendly. Walking distance to south beach! My only complaint is there is an $50/night hold on the room, which I wasn’t aware of until check in. But, the hold was released in 2 days. I would stay again.
The hotel has small rooms and smaller than normal bathrooms and both could use a spring cleaning. The valet parking is $42 per night or park on your own across the street for $20 per night. The complimentary cocktail upon arrival is prepared behind the front desk and who knows whats in it. The shops and restaurants are close and its only a couple of blocks from the beach. The hotel provides a beach towel but the umbrella on the beach is $20 per day. And the hotel staff is okay but not at all friendly. There are no microwaves on the property as we were told and they have a shortage of fresh towels daily. The weather was nice and there is plenty to do. Enjoy Miami!
We had a pleasant staying here since it is located right in the middle of art district. You find plenty of restaurants and shopping at walking distance. I did realized that the rooms look smaller than what is advertise on their website and the bathroom are just too narrow. I felt like I was in NY ugh! The bathroom was a little dated and needed some paint retouche in the shower corners. the hotel need some remodeling to fresh it up! We got charged an extra resort fee; but the hotel doesn’t seems to be a resort! That was a bit confusing. Yes, there is a pool, pool table inside but what are the other amnesties that qualified it as resort? Beside that, the daily staff was inviting and professional. The night staff couldn’t answer some of the questions I had and asked if I could call back in the morning.
My girlfriend and I recently stayed at this hotel while waiting for a cruise. Far enough away from Ocean Drive to have a good night sleep but close enough to walk to. Although some of the hotel was under construction, areas were well maintained and clean, including the rooms. Some of the amenities make this place a great little spot. The hotel has a gated outdoor area with pool, family game area, and benches to just sit and chat while enjoying the warm weather. Felix helped us check in and out. He was extremely accommodating along with other staff members. They informed us of other amenities such as discounts at the diner across the street, free admission to the museum across the street, yoga classes at a local place, shuttles to the beach, as well as an area you can utilize beach chairs and umbrellas.
Terribly nasty and smelly hotel. Definitely not a 4 star hotel. More like a 2. The hall way and rooms have a very strong mold and mildew smell. They try to mask it with a strong orange deodorizer, which makes it even worse. The carpet in the hall way is so dirty, it made my skin crawl. It looks like it has not been vacuumed in months. The staff was not very welcoming either. Your backyard pool is probably better than the ‘resort’ at this hotel. But good thing the beach is a 10 mins walk. This hotel has A lot of potential if it is upgraded and cleaned. Very dirty, outdated, and overpriced hotel. I will not recommend or stay at this hotel again.
Nice, quaint, and rustic hotel. I liked the unique set up. The main thing that was bothersome is we could hear pitter pattering on the ceiling at different times of the night and day because it’s not soundproof if you’re not on the top floor. Our room was very small-it really had no room to do anything but walk around the bed and go to the bathroom. There were a few minor things that were annoying like our keypad on the door’s batteries died and house cleaning forgot to get us washcloths. Loved the complimentary drink they give everyone as well as the smell of the shower gel and lotion! Only about a 10 minute walk or less to the beach! Very nice staff!
We had a wonderful experience during our trip to Miami in June. The location of the hotel can’t be beat - everything is within 20 minutes walking distance. Tons of restaurants, bars, shops, and museums are just steps away. The beach is a 10 minute walk as well. The staff here were very friendly and accommodating, and were quick to respond when we asked for new batteries for our remote. We received a complimentary drink upon check-in, which was much appreciated on the 90 degree day. The pool was nice, most of the hotel’s 5 buildings are on the Art Deco tour, and our room was clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!
Location was the best part. Room was very small, water in the shower dripped out with zero water pressure. The front desk employees never bothered to make eye contact. They simple read off their rules without caring to ask us if we had any questions, or even to find out how our stay was when we checked out. Check in not until 4, check out by 11. Valley parking for $45
I was skeptical in staying close to the beach, this was a great location for a stopover from vacation. My friend and I were greeted by the front desk staff, check in went smooth. The Manager accommodated our request. Front desk recommended a very affordable parking garage which was way cheaper than parking on the street. Room was clean, spacious and comfy beds. Great decor in rooms. Rooms may be small to some, these are boutique hotels. The hotel offered many amenities, the beach towels were a nice touch and bikes to get aroundMy only con is the hallways need updating, the floor is super nasty and you can tell it hasn’t been cleaned. Walls and doors need to be repainted, a little goes a long way.
The corridor carpets were dirty and stank of piss! Very unhygienic and disgusting. Outside some if the rooms were bags of waste probably left by guests which at breakfast time remained uncleared from the night before. The rooms were ok, looked like recently refurbished. The pool area was fine, with free popsicles. The management should strip out those old smelly carpets as it lets down the hotel big time.
Friendly staff, great location, but the rooms were a small step above roadside motels. Our shower had mould and leaked across our room, only two small towels, the room felt old/worn. Their social media is amazingly curated and makes you feel like you’re going to get a boutique hotel experience until you actually arrive.
The hotel staff provided excellent customer service. Provided amenities were also great. The double room is way smaller than what Ive grown accustomed to while traveling. Im giving three stars for the accommodations. The staff deserves 5 stars.
Really enjoyed our stay. Even as a family in South Beach...on spring break...it was a pretty chill vibe. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Pool was nice if a little small. Rooms were standard. Good location.
Our stay was excellent! Felix made my friends birthday stay wayyy better. The location was great and walking distance to activities were awesome. Welcome drink and other staff were great also. My only issue was that our room didnt have a full length mirror and Im short so we couldnt see ourselves, but other than that it was GREAT!
I didn’t like this hotel. The room is super small, no place to hang towels or wet swimsuits, not even a space to place the suitcases. The pool is also super small and I think it never gets cleaned. The water is super unclear and there are hairs and things floating even first time in the morning. If you don’t get there early you won’t get a lounge chair. The valet is very expensive $42, and it takes about 25 mins to get your car when you need it.I was about 35 minutes waiting to check out.The good place about it is the location, it’s 4 minutes walk from the beach. When you look at the rates add $28 plus tax on the top of what you see as a resort fee (you are paying for water bottles and beach chairs).People at the front office are usually nice, except for one guy, the older one with glasses.
Enjoying my stay very much so far! Aside from the bathroom door unraveling and some areas starting to tear in the bedsheets, everything is clean and well kept. The bed is comfy and the staff very helpful and friendly. There are a lot of amenities, so Im very pleased.
Awesome experience at WPHM! The staff are everything! Very accommodating and sweet. I was helped by Matthew, Lady and Felix. They were so friendly and pleasant / not the experience you often get at other hotels! Boutique hotels tend to take care of their staff incredibly well and I loved this place.!The amenities are also awesome - yoga classes- museum access, bike rentals , pool, ping pong table , volleyball! I was lucky enough to get to use all !! Had the best time ever! I 100% recommend :)
One of the worst hotels I ever came across. I wish I could give them negative ratings.!1. The rooms were so tiny and cramped up that it feels like you will suffocate if your trip is more than a week.2. I had made a booking a month back and when I reached the hotel, the front desk lady handed me the keys. I carried all the luggage by myself (no help from them, anywayto the second floor (elevators not workingand I see someone is inside my room. I came downstairs and told the front desk lady. She had no clue that the room was occupied. She again handed me new set of keys and it was in another block of building. I carried all the luggage to the other buildings fourth floor and even that was occupied. I again carried all my luggage to main building front desk. They were least apologetic.3. Free breakfast?? All they have in breakfast in Juice and Bagel. Mind me, they charge $14 for breakfast buffet and what they give is juice and bagel. No eggs, no cereal, no milk, nothing.!4. The hotel is more like a motel with all terrible staff around.5. They say free beach towels and bicycle. Bicycle is never available. I stayed for around 4 days and not even once the bicycle was available. Beach towels? God bless you if you want to use those unhygienic towels.6. I had free welcome drink and I requested in the start for non-alcoholic but still the front lady handed me alcoholic drink without informing me. Pathetic staff.Worst hotel!
The property and location were great, but the standard of service left me disappointed and frustrated. Below are a few of my complaints/observations:120 minute check-in process2Rooms weren’t ready until 4:00pm3Cleaning service forgot to replenish towels and coffee and when requested, neglected it bring to the room4Dirty towels and garbage from housekeeping service were left in the hallway overnight outside of our room530 minutes to get car from valet when it was not busy (not acceptable when paying $42/day)6observed plenty of staff, but most seemed aloof and disorganized7Paid an extra $28/day for a “resort fee” that was of no valueThis place has great potential, but there needs to be the more attention to delivering a higher standard of service to match the price.
I don’t care what people say location is way more important than a luxurious resort if you plan on venturing out. This place was so central. The staff was great and helpful in contrast to what we had heard. They bottles of water, welcome drinks, free bikes are all great touches. The pool and table tennis tables were regulars for us. My reason for giving them a four was the housekeeping department could have done better. Our room floors were sticky despite pointing it out. Our shower wouldn’t get cleaned. I’d still recommend this hotel though.
The property as a whole is truly a treat! We got there at noon and wasnt supposed to check in until 4, but our room was ready when we arrived so we got to check in early. Staff is very friendly and helpful! Was given a delicious welcome drink upon arrival. The amenities are pretty good, which includes yoga classes, popsicles, free shuttles to the beach, beach chairs, and bikes to ride around the area. You also get 50% off at the on campus restaurant during a designated time. The room had a weird configuration (bed was right next to the door, while the bathroom was around the corner in our suite), but the balcony was very spacious for our Jr. Suite. Definitely a good deal considering the price and the amazing location. The Washington Park Hotel will always be my first choice for trips to South Beach!
I was excited about this hotel. I thought the designed was neatly thought out. Great concept. I didnt like that the hotel smells horrible in the hallways. This definitely needs to be addressed. Hotels should have pleasant, welcoming smells. This was not the case. I also didnt like that everyone didnt wear uniforms. I need to know that person who is addressing me is an employee. The rooms was ok and the hotel was only a couple blocks from the beach.
The staff was very nice, accommodating and friendly; they let us check in a bit early. The room was a decent size with a big comfortable bed. They also have great amenities in this hotel. They provide beach chairs and towels, a tuktuk shuttle to and from the beach even though its only 3 blocks away, unlimited bottles of water, etc. Overall, its a great place to stay and I have no complaints.
This place is definitely a great place to stay perfect location 2 blocks away from the beach w a lot of places to choose to eat.!! Pool is small but very clean I myself saw how every morning they cleaned. Rooms are small but very cozy. We love it.!! Staff was great very professional and friendly.!! They offered transportation to the beach back and forward. Plus 2 chairs per room to lay on the beach.!! We received welcome drinks and unlimited water bottles Claudia at the front desk is great. She is friendly well educated even though she was busy at times she managed to be flowing like a fish on the water.!!
Had a great stay! My husband and I stayed for two nights. They accommodated our early check in and we received welcome drinks! We had no trouble finding lounge chairs by the pool, our room was clean and quiet, and they provided us bottled water (included in the resort fee). Air condition and TV worked great and we were really close to the beach. Also within walking distance to vegan food restaurants.
The room was comfortable enough, although there was really no hot water. The staff was friendly, and there are lots of places to eat and shop nearby. The beach is a 2 blocks away. The resort fees are astronomical, and parking is $43 day. I dont think I would stay again.
While the location was nice, buyer beware, you are not getting what you paid for. The room that we booked over three months in advance with a king sized bed was not available (even though we paid for it). No mention of a comp or anything. We were given a room with two small double beds instead and basically told take it or leave it. The icing on the cake was when we went to the front desk to ask for water (which was included in resort fee we paidand the concierge said they had none. Thanks for the sunburn, we will not return.
It Was a good experience. Just a 5 minute walk from the beach. The crew was nice and down to earth which I love. The room was very clean and up to date. Even if you arrive too early, they will hold your luggage so you can explore Miami til its your check in time which was helpful because I would have hated to carry luggage around or waited there for hours because I had no car and just got off a cruise. I will definitely be using this hotel in the future and will recommend it.
I love, love, love this hotel! Ive stayed here twice in the last few months and its wonderful. They greet you with a delicious welcome drink and the rooms and toiletries are very nice. I needed a room a few days after Hurricane Irma hit so I checked with them. It was about 10:00pm and they had just reopened for business. The staff was so accommodating and did everything they could to make sure we had a great stay. I cannot tell you again how much I love this hotel.
I booked through Expedia and I had an excellent time. When I arrived late, they were gracious, speedy and accommodated my tiredness. Fernando was awesome. He greeted me with a drink and upgraded my room after sensing that I was uncomfortable. I honestly dont know why this hotel has only 2 stars. You can walk to the beach where they have 2 free beach chairs per room. Its 2 short blocks from Ocean Drive and the diner across the street has the best crab burger Ive ever tasted. The room was clean, comfortable, safe, and spacious. It was a little loud sometimes at night but I was there during the weekend and at the end of the day, its South Beach. I cant wait to stay here again.
Enjoyed my stay! Beautiful hotel, friendly attentive, friendly staff. Rooms are cozy and comfy with modern decor. Lovely pool and quiet tropical grounds, perfect for relaxing! Enjoyed the complimentary drink as well as at the restaurant bar! I will definitely come back!
Very nice and fairly new looking hotel. Rooms appear very modern and the overall location is very good! Staff and maids are very friendly and prompt. Came with a group of 12 guys for a bachelor party. We stayed in the Bel Air building. Would stay here again!
Nice clean quaint hotel in the middle of all of the action. The hotel is an old hotel that has been completely re modeled. The rooms were spacious. The bathrooms were really nice and modern, the rooms were very clean, the bed was very comfortable, the front desk staff was very friendly. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. If you are looking for a quiet place to relax by the pool this is not the place. The pool is next to very busy Washington ave. the pool is also small. Other than that it was wonderful!
