Lakeside recreation area with disc golf, mountain biking & attractions designed for accessibility.
Went yesterday for the first time to the playground at warriors path state park. The place is humongous!!! The playground area had SO many different things to do! We had a blast and will definitely go again!!
Its an ok campground. Some sites are decent but some are extra small and unlevel. The shower is also pretty bad. Not terrible but not great.
Great time hiking Devils Backbone. Definitely a hard hike. Its about 1 1/2 miles one way. We then drove to the lake and walked another trail that is paved and about 1 mile total. Beautiful park with plenty to do.
A local state park. A weekend getaway for us to just get away from the house. Clean bathrooms and good quiet neighbors except for the hammock campers but they were quiet after quiet time at 10 so no issues. It was packed and I didnt make a reservation but luckily they had a cancelation that night. I always enjoy staying here.
I decided to stalk some deer and see how close I could get with them in the actual woods. Off to the side of the Frisbee golf course I spent 15 minutes with a six point and 3 doe. One of the most enlightening experiences of my life! Thank you warriors path!
This is really a great state park. There is a lot to do. Many of the campsites are nice, but a few are small and dont have any shade. The playground is amazing.
Not a great place to try and park a large rig. Parking our 36 5th involved blocking all traffic for 10 minutes, and inching into a space that left the back stabilizers 5 off the ground on a downhill slope, my front bumper sticking out into the road, and my truck almost sliding down the hill during this nerve racking event on site 20. Now hear me -- Im exceptionally good at maneuvering an RV, and it took every skill I had.Indoor pool is closed. No electric segways allowed on the grounds. Cramped roads and sites. Apparently, people rating it high have not been to many other sites. We are full timers for over a year.Good notes -- staff is courteous. $38 per night full hookup. Close to freeway.
Called and paid for 3 Days Sat.till Tues. When I had spoke to the women on the phone I told her I wasnt sure what time we would arrive. She told me it did not matter but if we make it by Friday night we would have to pay for Friday night Saturday morning we waited until Saturday morning. On the phone they was no mention of a check in time she just said no one was in that spot. We had really been debating on if we wanted to stay the whole week or just the weekend leave out on Tuesday my husband had made up his mind and had decided that he was going to stay for the rest of the week when he arrived this morning the woman working told a man in front of him dont worry about today just go ahead and park it and Ill charge you for Saturday and Sunday bye I love you see you later. Then when my husband gets up there she goes to tell him that he will need to pay for Friday since it is before 4:00 she just told the person in front of him not to worry about paying for arriving early just go set up.. so he paid her another 35$ but we will make sure we go somewhere else!!!! I guess if ur BF wants to camp he can for free!!!! Bad customer service rude
Great campground. A number of beautiful trails suitable for the family.
This is a very well maintained park with benches and Barbques. Camping is offered as well. Theres a Marina, mountain bike trails, and day use areas with a playground.
Had an absolutely amazing hime horseback riding in the mountains! Wonderful staff, my boyfriend is an inexperienced rider but our guide made him feel right at home. We both loved it and cannot wait to come back!
Beautiful park, lots to do but no sewer, campsite are extremely small for big rigs. 5G service was a big plus for us that work from the Road.
They are adding more of a docking area and renovation but had a great time. Kayak rentals and life vests are available which is ideal..love the area we were swimming and walked along a short trail to an older built pier area and it was a beautiful scenic area. I didnt get to visit all the trails but I will ne returning loved it
Warriors path has everything from camping to disc golf, hiking and biking trails, lake access, canoe rentals, and a greats playground for the kids. Check it out.
We hiked the Devils Backbone Trail on January 1st. Beautiful hike with a great view of the lake and it crosses the golf course twice. I had been on the trail several times but my husband and Ellie Mae had not! We look forward to hiking all the other trails at Warriors Path this year!
I love it. My kids love it. One of the best playgrounds Ive ever seen. Especially for free. Very friendly staff at the kayak and paddle boat rental place. The only negative part at all is that the water had a bit of a smell to it. But that hasnt stopped me from spending about 90 percent of my free time there this summer.
The park is nice, well maintained and clean. We were in a handicap parking spot. The spot was large and had easy access. My objection to it was that all of the handicap spaces were gravel while the regular spots were cement. It made no sense to me because trying to walk with my walker was impossible and walking with a cane was really difficult. This was a perfect spot for all water sports and fishing. Definitely a spot to put on your agenda 👌
My family and I absolutely adore every aspect of warriors state park. We enjoy kayaking, swimming and playing at the beautiful playground on a weekly basis. Definitely recommend this treasure.
Three stars because the roads are not easy to maneuver with a trailer. Five star for the friendly staff and clean campground. My guess is campground was developed when tent and pop-ups were popular. I did not find it easy to maneuver with today’s travel trailers. However, if you are good at maneuvering tight spaces this may be for you. I will not likely return.
I love this place... If you are a blended family it may not feel to comfortable at first. Im a white guy, my wife is black and my kids are mixed... So you may understand how the locals stared at us... But It was not in a bad way. These folks just aint really seen too many blended families... Other than that we had a blast... Very welcoming shops and once you talk to some people it all smooths out... Its worth the drive
Had a good day out here. Ive lived down here for about 13 years and finally got to visit this place. It was busy but not overcrowded. Had a great time swimming and relaxing on a warm day. Cant wait to go back which will be soon.
Great for camping. Bathroom was clean and had hot water. Campsites were big but some are pretty close to each other. There is a short trail around the campground which is nice. I personally felt out of place in a tent surrounded by campers and RVs.
A great state park ! Plenty to do in a well kept beautiful scenery . Highly recommend for a great day out for the whole family . In and around the tri-cities area less than a 1/2 tank of gas to get there for a memorable day . Can make it more than one day if wanting to camp at their camp ground which is very nice and well kept 👍
Great place for kids, camping, swimming and so much more
Always love camping here. Great campground, lake, trails, people.
Just moved here and slowly getting to know the area. Finally made it here, and this place is magical! 💙
Nice lake with large playground, picnic shelters to rent, and building a new marina. Greater access to restrooms for all park visitors, regardless of physical ability, during all hours that the park is open would be wonderful.
What a nice campground. We managed to get site #1 which is right next to the bathrooms and showers. It uniquely has 2 levels, a lower for parking, cooking, eating and hanging out and an upper area on the hill perfect for a few tents. A fire pit happened to be next to the steep hillside that made a big difference with camp fire smoke in our eyes in the shifting winds. Dont make the mistake of only getting 1 bundle of wood at the camp store for the evening, which was notably well seasoned. Please keep an eye out for poison ivy. There isnt a great deal of it but it is all over in very small patches including a few feet from the table. It was amazing how loud the birds were at sunrise. We enjoyed this site immensely.
Loved it!! The trail is very easy to follow, The boardwalk is really neat as well. We really enjoyed the thoughtful touch of having the big signs explaining various things and historical information. We saw a deer up close and personal in the wetlands area, a millipede on the trail, a box turtle on the trail quite a distance from any water that we could see, two breath-taking Red-Headed Woodpeckers, other smaller birds, lots of neat flowers and vegetation, and more!! I would rate this trail as quite easy, which is saying a lot for me, because I broke my neck in three places years ago and cant handle much hiking. This place is super neat!!
NOTHING IS OPEN ON WEEKDAYS. You can not rent a kayak or anything unless you come on a Saturday or Sunday. Online it says it’s open but at the park it clearly is not. We drove 2 hours to get here to kayak to learn they are not open when they say they are. I do not recommend. Turned around and come home and have no hopes of ever returning. This park used to be one of our favorites to come to but it has drastically went downhill.
I am proud of this park for many reasons.1st. This is where I learned to swim when I was a child. The largest swimming pool in North East Tennessee with the largest parking lot. FREE.A MUST VISIT FOR EVERYONE!See why I am so proud of this park? Come for a visit, youll understand why.
The park is beautiful. The camp host is very nice. The bathrooms and showers are cleaned every morning. Water and power at all the camp sites. We have stayed here multiple times. This is our favorite State Park to stay at so far.
Great time with the wife and kids walking and just being outdoors
I love the duck island trail around the lake. Its 0.79 miles from my parking space. The trail is 100% paved which is great with additional paths that cut through for shorter walk. There are several picnic shelters with picnic tables and BBQ grill. I like seeing the geese in the water or just hanging out on the grass relaxing. What a life to be free from politics.
Warriors Path is a lovely park with lots of birds and deer. Its a Great place to fish or walk. The Duck Island path is very dog friendly with trash cans and doggie bags available in short intervals. There are lots of places to picnic and the restrooms are clean. It is also a wonderful place to watch the sunset.
Amazing park with a wide variety of activities on-site. A great place for dogs, adults and children. Fishing, hiking, basketball, volleyball, rowing, tennis, swimming, camping, playground, running/walking path & wooded trails along Lake & River, boating, a marina, are all just some of the available activities.
Nice park to go for a walk and relax. They have a marina so people can go out in the water with their boats, canoes or whatever. People were swimming on side of the lake as well as fishing. I didnt get to explore the entire area but it was a nice afternoon trip. They have a childrens play area and shelters for picnics and parties too. Pretty place.
What a beautiful fun state park. We enjoyed our stay and met new RV friends. Wished we could stay longer. People here are so full of life and seem to go out their way to be friendly. Really enjoyed so much in the mornings the smell of bacon and the burning smell of fresh firewood.
Easily one of the best state parks that weve been at while camping. Very well laid out, very well kept, with lots of things to do, and lots of programs.
This is a great place for families with all kinds of outdoor activities that I wont get into here, but to say that they are great and the staff is great. The reason for the 4 stars is that they have a beautiful lake and rent canoes, kayaks, paddle boards and peddle boats. The problem is that they allow anyone with a boating permit to put in at the boat ramps and the wake that they create makes it really hard to enjoy the activities that we paid for. The canoe was constantly rocking from passing boats who pay little too no attention to anyone but themselves. In my opinion, its just too small of a lake for the amount of boats that they allow. If not for that, I would definitely give 5 stars.
First camping trip to Warriors Path State Park. We stayed for a long weekend since we were attending a wedding in the area. Plenty to do at this park. Amenities include the lake, swimming pool, fishing, boating, disc golf, an 18 hole golf course, riding stables, and miles of hiking trails. We didnt get to take advantage of all of the amenities due to the amount of time spent with wedding weekend activities. We plan to return though.
Great location. We have gone horse back riding, done lots of fishing and its a great place to walk as well. One of our favorite things to do is kayak and this is a perfect place locally to do that. Easy access to the put in spot too. Continues to remain a favorite outdoor destination for our family.
This park made my vacation start off excellent. Boating, swimming, trails, golf, disc golf, a playground, camping, picnic area, this is really nice to be here.
Went to Warriors path park, we walked through Ducks Island area. Its very beautiful! My kids loved it. There is a huge play area on the other side of the park which looked beautiful. We avoided it since it was packed and with the pandemic, we didnt want to be around so many people. There is tons of boat docks and spots to fish. Its very beautiful.
Nice park. Lake is great. Kayaking and swimming.Campground needs a little help. Sites are right on top of one another. Our site was supposed to be good for a 25 ft camper. Mine is 23. Had to park on an angle to fit. Massive drop off behind site. Hole set up was sketchy. Bathrooms were decent.
Very nice place to go camping and take your kids. They have plenty of wildlife as you can see in the pictures also playground fishing boating are you can just lay back and enjoy the quiet thats what I did is relaxed.
Since Boone lake has been lowered for repairs to the dam, warriors path is a bit crowded. Once you get away from the boat ramps and the store, it is such a wonderful place to visit. The beauty and the serenity and the trees and the cliffs as well as some of the wildlife you get to see such as deer and Im sure other animals is just absolutely amazing. I look forward to Gracies and my next visit.
Its peaceful and beautiful. Its not crowded all the time. There are ducks, which are so cute and entertaining. There are picnicking areas and swings. There is a special area for small children to play. There are camping areas where people actually stay overnight. There is an "island" in the middle of the lake, which has walking trails around it. It has a great swimming pool. Ive been going here as far back as I can remember. Its like "home" to me. Highly recommended!
Warriors Path State Park is an excellent park located on Holston Lake. It looks like a great lake to kayak. They do have kayaks, canoes and paddle baits for rent. There were a lot of fishermen on the banks of the lake so the fishing must be good. There are picnic areas and pavilions. There is a nice playground for the kids. We didnt do any hiking or biking but it is available there. There is a disk golf and golf course at the park too.
May be my new favorite state park! If you like fishing, biking, or hiking, this is the place! We were there for four days and didnt come close to doing all the things. There is also an amazing playground. Not 5 stars because there is an extremely loud train that went by during the day and about 3 times every night. It blew its horn repeatedly and woke us up every time. Thats not the parks fault, though.
