Wärdshuset Ulla Winbladh AB - in Stockholm, Sweden
Delightful atmosphere, attentive service with dishes which are authentic and consistent. Highly recommended.
Me and my family loved this place. Food was delicious. Traditional meatballs, marinated salmon starter and crème brûlée for desert. Everything was perfect. Our waiter mister Serhat was so polite and attentive, it was our pleasure to be there.
Amazing food and service, such an amazing experience during my visit to Stockholm. I had a whiskey sour, cheddar tart and meatballs - all were perfection! On the pricier side but it is well worth it. The setting amongst the gardens is gorgeous.
Great service, ordered the deer, absolutely fabulous along with the outdoor atmosphere in the middle of a park!
Great food, great location. Our waitress was Eva, kind and skilled, could immediately answer all our questions and provided alternative - and tasty - receipe modifications immediately for food intolerance. Waiting time was average, 45 mins. The only reason for 1 star deduction is for seating. Guests waiting for seating are overlooked/ignored, we have waited 15 mins and were the first ones in the queue. Then the seating man made us feel like we shall be thankful that he provides a seat for someone having no reservation - although there were plenty of tables free.
Impressive how a rather small crew succeeded to keep up good service around the many tables. The food was good, the wine as well, but really nothing did exceed expectation.
The courtesan seemed like hed eaten a sour grape and didnt even give a straight answer to our question about food times. The food was excellent though! 👍
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Stockholm. Its a great dining experience. The location is pretty. The food is very well prepared and the staff both knowledgeable and friendly. All this for quite reasonable prices. If you want a lovely meal in beautiful surroundings, this is the place.Bon appetit.
Delicious traditional Swedish food with a bit of flare. Recommended by a Swedish friend and truly worth the coat. Our waiter was phenomenal and treated us to a variety of tastes. We enjoyed a leisurely 3-hour dinner.
Great value, great location and friendly staff
Royal Siberian Cavier 👍Marinated Salmon 🫳Swedish Meatballs 👍Beef Rydberg 👍Cherry Cheesecake 🫳Vibe 🔥Service 👍
A very good Swedish traditional restaurant. I enjoyed their fiskgryta very much.
Been here 4 times already and it never failed me. All the dishes I had were very tasty, and this is my first recommendation to people who want to try Swedish food. Also the portions are pretty big, one main dish can be enough for one meal but I always take more because they are so good. I will continuously coming here at least every season to try out new dishes.
Our lunch was fantastic, we had the reindeer carpaccio and the meatballs. Excellent service from Martin. We definitely recommend this restaurant for traditional Swedish dishes.
Best Swedish meatballs! Very classy restaurant and ever so friendly service!
The waiter was friendly. We have red deer carpaccio which was nice but salty taste for some people. The meatballs has pork so we couldnt try it 😑 (i want to take out 1 ⭐ for that). So instead had the chops of veal which was tasty. The seating outside is nice with the view on a park/trees.
We did eat very well. My cellphone was empty sorry no photos.😁
Staff extremely friendly even when busy, food was brilliant, location was very nice and lots of fresh air
We can warmly recommend Ulla Winblad. Good service, friendly staff and very good food. We celebrated a birthday 17-7-22 and ate Poached cod with shrimps, egg, horseradish, lemon and browned butter. For dessert we ate Milk chocolate mousse with caramel, small cookie and whipped cream. Very good food at a reasonable price. 👌
Nice place with a lovely view. Its a bit on the expensive side, but other than that the food is good and the staff is excellent.
One of my three favorite restaurants in Stockholm. Been a patron for over 20 years, a must place to eat at least once during our stays in Stockholm. The menu is varied with traditional Swedish dishes, seasonal menus and chefs occasionally get creative with modern takes on Scandinavian classic dishes that are truly upgrades to already fantastic dishes. The steak, which is marinated to perfection, is one of my favorites in the world(I’ve had steak in a lot places in 27 different countries). You can’t miss with the Swedish meatballs, purée potatoes and fresh lingonberries with pickled cucumber. A seasonal version is made with reindeer, a favorite protein of the Swedes, sorry Rudolph, and is a must try.
Nice restaurant with traditional swedish dishes.
Brilliant traditional Swedish food atmosphere. Their meatballs are 👌
Great place with fantastic Swedish style foodOrder the meatballs - they are not like IKEAThe fish casserole is like a very full bowl of soup with large pieces of Cod and Salmon. We had the Shrimp on toast started which was just the right amount to prepare for dinner. The Raspberry desert was wonderful. And they have an excellent wine list.
Very homy and cosy feeling.Go here for a calm, peacefull down to earth dinner!!Wallpaper on the walls, a lot of wood. Some animal horns on the wall and eating deer or beef is niceIts a calm peacefull place. My meat was not done well but the meat from my father in law and sister was very well cooked!!Sauce was amazing. In the meat and also the fish dishes
We had a short stay in Stockholm and went to see the Vasa ship. Afterwards we went to this restaurant that surprised us with a very eloquent and hilarious waiter that was very dedicated and helpful. The food was classic and very tasty. I had the vegan meatballs that were really tasty. On our way back we have a stop again in Stockholm and already reserved our table for another exquisite stay.
So posh, elegant and professional staff. Its not expensive nor cheap. Maybe suitable for a first date.
Great location, food and service. Prices are ok for Stockholm and the location and food are worth to visit this place!Highly recommend it. :-)
An absolute classic at beautiful Djurgården that offers a refreshingly different experience each season. 🇸🇪The whole food and experience is very classic and modern Swedish. On the menu you can find options like Beef Rydberg, various sill (herring), fish and even meatballs. There are also seasonal dishes and dishes as specific Swedish holidays. If you want to try out, a good menu could be to order the Sill & Strömming bricka for starters, then try a classic meat or fish dish, not to forget the starter schnapps and why not finish with a Swedish Punsch? So many restaurants have given up the great Punsch tradition, but at least here you can get it - although would have been nicer to get a Grönstedts Blå than the most usual brand, but cant ask for everything :)Food is overall well made, dont expect too many modernities - but there are a few such as curry herring and varieties on the drinks menu. Service is good too, staff are polite and friendly, venue has always been in good shape when I been there over the years.May the tradition of Ulla Winbladh continue for future generations of locals and visitors!
Great service and food.A classic Swedish restaurant with good atmosphere and the service. The staff there are very friendly and nice. The service is really good and they give good advice. The restaurant is child friendly. They have painting paper, crayons and toys so that kids could play. The food is tasty especially beef.We ordered meatballs, beef steak and fish. All of them are nice but I especially like beef. They have wide range of drinks and desert. You could probably fine the most classic Swedish options there!Highly recommend if you want to experience the typical Swedish service, interior and food.
Excellent food and wonderful service! The ’julbord’ was absolute delight. The variety and quality of the dishes were top-notch, and the kitchen managed to get the balance between traditional and creative just right. The vegan option is a huge plus! will be back again that’s for sure.
Been there 5 times and both the food and service was always excellent. I tend to think they have the meat balls in town. During summers you can sit outside. The interior is classy. Great experience and I always look forward to coming back.
Delicious Swedish "julbord" with traditional dishes. Some modern variations as well. One of the best I have ever had so far.
This is a classic and classy restaurant with beautiful interior and exterior and unparalleled service. Good was very well made including desserts. Highly recommended
Great food. Really kind staff. Fancy place. A bit expensive, but you really pay for the excellent service and nice ambiente. Very few vegan/ veggie options unfortunately.
Incredibly tasty, and diverse, food! Everything from posh looking things to (super-great but still simple meatballs. Friendly and helpful staff also. Nice location but you don’t really some here for the view even though you’re super close to areas with super cute views.
WOW! I mean really wow. Sometimes doing the right thing can yield worse results. What a terrible customer service this place has. I mean it all stemmed from the waiter who kept kept disappearing on us after we continued order. When we ordered the bread, more wine and butter it was a different waiter who took the orders and brought it to us because the main waiter was so disengaged and ignoring us. Then we had to wait well over 30 min for the bill. About 20 min of the 30 min we spent looking for him. During this time period even his own coworkers suggest we should leave (because the waiter no where to be found). As were leaving I finally see him and finally was able to pay though he didnt even go over it with us and yet at me when I asked him what happened. His boss then jumped to his defense in saying dont threaten the staff. All of this couldve been avoided had a just did what his coworkers said by just leaving without paying for the bill but i chose not to do it.
We were here on a Saturday without having a table reserved but still got accommodated by the staff super fast. The meatballs were delicious and the sauce was tasteful. The portion was filling and enough. Also liked the ambience. Can highly recommend this place.
Really good Swedish food.If you have a visit in Stockholm and you want them to try proper Swedish food….this is your place. The meatballs/ the fish and sill are spectacular.Definitely a place to go as many time as you can.You have and amazing many museums around and the zoo as well. Her some pics of the food:
After so many years visiting this place with friends and colleagues for dinners, lunch, wedding etc and each time tried hard to convincing myself to revisit the place and told myself,it will be ok this time! but it hasnt been anything but dissapointment ! This time it was their Rasism that took me down more than their horrible plates ! on arrival, we were offered a table beside the waitors station by a so called hostess! A table that shouldnt be pointed for any guest ! I would never want to go out, paying top dollar for a dog corner. she did see our faces and dissapointment but didnt even lift a finger to change it until I said, well if there is nowhere else then the station wall then we have to look for another place..This was totally unacceptable as the place was empty !!!!! both the front and the back was busy with 5 tables! she said we are fully booked! As we were celebrating a birthday occasion, I didnt want to make a fuss and kindly asked if there were any other table available but the reply was that all were booked ! it get worst ! we got a table after a lot of hostes unfriendly huff and puff in the cold tent with a small heater.we were exhausted and during the time we had our 3 course meal( a few hoursno other guest showed up and totally the opposite ! the picture shows the place on our arrival and leaving time with empty tables all over the place 😑 our waitor tried to turn it all around but we left the place with a bitter memory that I dont wish for anyone else. when leaving she didnt even say thank you or welcome back ! no Appologies or..Shame on you unfriendly hostess that lie to the guests and upset them instead for welcoming and making sure their visit become a great experience!
Best restaurant in Stockholm! Ulla Winbladh is a little gem in the beautiful surroundings of Djurgården. It is a unique traditional place with a very cosy atmosphere and amazing Swedish food. The staff is so friendly and professional, they always make you feel so welcome and it feels like a home away from home. Highly recommended!
Perfect stop for lunch on our Stockholm day trip! Food, service and atmosphere all 10/10. Perfect for traditional food but escalated. Would recommend!
Quality food (Scandinavian-ish cuisine, pleasant ambience and environment, efficient and helpful staff. Out of mere craving, I tried the sweet dish of the day - Blueberry Pie. It was delightful. Try bergtunga & fiskgryta in the main course, if you like fish.It is kid-friendly. They have a relatively elaborate menu for kids and there were several crayons and sketches for painting which kept my kid engaged and happy. There is also a lawn adjacent to the restaurant where kids can play(after their tummies are full 😁).
I have been to this place before, but that was years ago. I was happy to find out that it hasnt changed. All is VERY good. Nice relaxed staff. Hight quality food. Super environment; we were sitting outside. One thing made me give it 4 instead of 5 stars - only 2 vegan courses. More creative and meatlike vegan/vegetarian dishes would be good.
Superb service in nice outdoor atmosphere... food was delicious, well made and presented nicely. Mixed age among the guests made it even better. Love eating in peace and quiet and still hear the mumble from tables around us. Really recomend
Nice place near the entrance to Skansen. The outside seating area is lovely with plenty of shade. The food was delicious and quickly served and the staff was friendly. Its not a cheap place to have lunch before heading into Skansen, but its worth it.The waiters were aware of the gluten free options and could adapt dishes to make them gluten free. There was enough space for us to sit with a big baby stroller.
Classic Swedish dishes, pefectly made. And the staff is consistently the best I have encountered anywhere: they always know when to chat a short while and when to silently remove some empty glass or the like. And they all feel genuinely interested in giving you the best experience possible. Its not the cheapest place, but excellent value for money.
Very good traditional Swedish food to try out when in town. Staff are friendly but we had to wait long time for them to take our orders because they were standing together chit-chating,and didnt even notice us when we waved hands at them to get their attentions.
Delicious Swedish meatballs!! I can recommend this restaurant to all visiting Stockholm/Sweden. I asked for 3 different alcohol free beverages and they had run out of all of them, I think that was not very professional so only 4 stars even though the ambience and the food deserve a 5 star!
Our trip to Sweden was coming to an end, so we decided to treat ourselves and try this restaurant.First of all, the location is incredible. That island has everything I like about Stockholm. Green areas, water, parks, museums, and restaurants. If you go on a sunny summer day, use the terrace. Its awesome. The service is totally friendly. The terrace was full but we only had to wait 10 minutes. We had steaks, and I couldnt remember the names of the dishes because it was in Swedish. Mine had fried onions, and my dads meal was the one that came with mustard. We loved it. I ordered the Briska cider, its like drinking rainbow juice ;)We saw that people were kinda dressed up at this restaurant. Since we travel with a backpack, we didnt have those kind of clothes, but we still felt very welcome.
