46-54 Argyle St, Kings Cross, London WC1H 8ER, Nola
A 5-minute walk from Underground and National Rail trains at London King's Cross, this casual budget hotel in a Georgian townhouse is also a 7-minute walk from Eurostar trains at St. Pancras International and a mile from the British Museum.Simple, modern rooms feature free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs with satellite channels, plus tea and coffeemaking facilities, and shower-only en suite bathrooms. There's also a studio apartment with a kitchenette in nearby Russell Square.
Cheap for London, decent clean room with a nice shower, bathroom is small but usable and the room was surprisingly quiet.
The location is the only added value to this prison, our room is in the basement with a double bed that cant even fit an adult couple. Cell phone, tv and wifi have almost no signal and bandwidth in 2022. I have had other hotels in London with a slightly worse location for the same price range that I would much rather go back to in hindsight
Very uncomfortable bed. Good central location with facilities nearby including Kings Cross St Pancras Station. TV was black and white. Clean room. Not as modern looking as appears on website photos
Tiny rooms, could hardly move. Not ideal with a big suitcase and stairs with no help. Staff member was super rude. Only plus close to the train station.
Hotel in fantastic KingsX location, rooms smallish but modernised bathroom All amenities except breakfast option.
The rooms were super small like military bunkers. I didnt realize they were that small. It was in a great area though.
Rooms very small even if there is 2 of u its small no room for luggage or bags ....small lights did not work in room either......paid £359 and does not include breakfast
Feared for my life, I thought the porridge staircase was going to swallow me up. At 4foot 10 and still having to sleep with feet out of window gives a good idea of how big the beds were.
Very small room and bathroom but very clean and cosey
Nice location.. room okay but very warm
The acoustic of the room are really awful, it is hard to sleep at night, and the reception works only until midnight, but it has a good location.
Small place but it will do for just a weekend away.24 hour reception, happy to help and clean
Great location, near the Pancras train station and underground. And also a pub around the corner. Room was ok, bathroom was damp and has a tiny bathroom sink, thats actually a toilet sink. Not 1 shelf in bathroom, so no room for your bathroom items and you cant even wash your face without getting wet feet. Strange choice to place this sink when there is enough space for a bigger one. We stayed at -1 lvl so maybe other rooms have better bathrooms. Good beds, we slept well and no noise from other guests or street.
For a budget hotel it was good. Room was small and felt a bit depressing but for the price it was good value. The shower was good and I slept well. Also a very good location for travel.
The room was clean and tidy but, at over £100, not what Id hoped for. The 1.5m x 2m space was cramped and I dont think recently used. The bedding was clammy and it took some time to get used to it. My room was 009, below street level and, perhaps a little damp.Far too expensive for what I got.The staff were friendly and welcoming.
Located in an excellent position, courteous staff, the only flaw was the room we were given which was cramped and located one floor below the street overlooking a sort of dump full of junk and the bed that was not double but single and a half.
Amazing rooms and amazing staff! We hosted a boxing event in Camden, making the group booking and sorting out everyones rooms was made so much easier due to the staff being so professional and very friendly! As a company, I will most definitely be using them again!
This all (well, most of it): good room, tiny but all that is really needed for a quick trip to London; superb location; attractive, quirky building; highly competitive price; pleasant, efficient staff. No breakfast but why compete in one of the best breakfasted areas in London: why be in Bloomsbury without getting out there?
Very comfy place. Small room but everything I need was there. Maybe a stronger wifi would be better.
As other reviews have noted, the hotel is no longer in business despite being available to book on several websites. I now have to chase them up to get my money back. Avoid!
Stayed at the hotel last night, the staff was very friendly ans helpful. they even let me check out later this morning. Would recommend
Be warned, this place no longer exists yet is still bookable on many of the major platforms. I showed up with a booking recently and it was completely closed, with a small sign on the door saying "closed until further notice". None of the numbers work when dialled either.
Good location, near to British Museum and British Library , also easy access to public transport, 10 min to Russell Square subway or King Cross railway station. The room was clean but very small
The room had dustwebs around the lamp and above the bed. Not only around the lamp but also in corners between walls and ceiling. When I checked the tea/coffee facilities, they were obviously WIPED. There were stains on them still from previous guests. The decorative pillows both had multiple stains as well. Whenever I used the toilet I had to flush AT LEAST 3 times before the toilet was all clear. Also, you can hear people upstairs walking around when you’re in the room. Very, very squeaky floors. These were the most upsetting about the room. When we arrived approx. 1 hour before check in time, the ratchet justin bieber looking guy told us no-one has checked out yet so the rooms were not available yet. We totally understood, so decided to stay on the little bench at the reception and waited patiently for our room. After about 50 minutes another couple came in and wanted to check in, he checked them in. This is WITHOUT any guests leaving/checking out in the whole time we’ve waited. He didn’t even try and look if the room was ready yet or anything but he told us to go up and check the room ourselves because it was possible that the room was not ready yet. I asked him and his colleague to get rid of the dustwebs above our bed. After the 3rd time I was so over it and asked them for a broom so I can clean it myself, that’s when the evening/night shift guy finally came up himself to clean it.For those of you who are afraid of rodents, I believe they have traps and anti-rodent plugs for a reason.Besides all of this above, the hotel has a great location. Underground is only a couple mins walk. The shower can get nice and hot.
Perfectly located. But this is it. Other than that, the room was verrrrry small, hot and without air-conditioning (and it was the second-hottest day ever in London), not soundproof at all and furthermore with a bad view into a hole or something with drainpipes, so you are able to observe all "activities" of the hotel guests.
The hotel looks clean enough, but after a terrible night on a lumpy mattress, with bricks for pillows and barely any sleep. I decided to take a look at what was underneath the sheets. What a mistake! When I told reception the next morning they got annoyed that I had taken a photo. And asked if was legal for me to take the photo of the mattress. At £105 A night it should be illegal to have this kind of mattress.Reception then said what do I expect in Kings Cross and blamed it on the English. The only good thing was the view.
Small but (almostperfectly formed ... this has to be the tiniest hotel room Ive ever slept in - I booked a single - but it was adequate for my needs. I spent two nights here. Everything worked: lights, tv, kettle, shower, etc. The window opened and the curtains drew. There was plenty of coffee and power points. However it was really small and up 3 flights of narrow steps so, frankly, if youre fat or unfit youre probably not going to enjoy the experience. Cheap for London and it did for me.
Very small single room (I could barely open my suitcaseand the night staff wasn’t really all that nice plus my card didn’t work at first. (Neither did the reading lamp over the bed. When I arrived at 2am that was very annoying. The hotel itself is quite confusing and the corridors and stairs quite narrow. But: the room was clean, as was the bathroom. Morning stuff was friendly and even though I’d normally say it was overpriced, I did book sort of last minute and you pay for the excellent location near Kings Cross.
Great service, friendly staff; small, but well kept rooms, perfect location. Has a useful luggage room to store your bags as long as you want. Would visit again!
I stayed there twice and will certainly come back. Walking distance from Kings Cross Station and public transport. Very clean and convenient stay. Just be aware like the most of Londons hotels the rooms are small but sufficient.
Very small room with no wardrobe, with a tiny bathroom. Also very narrow corridors so beware if you have lots of luggage. However, its in a very convenient location (3 mins from Kings Cross), and the guy on reception was pleasant enough. Fine for a one night stay, but I wouldnt want to stay here all week.
So Ive stayed here on 5 occasions. The last time we stayed here will be my last. In the summer me and my partner had a terrible night here, it was the hottest room Ive ever been in, I cant stress this enough! Cold showers every hour, dripping cold icy water every few minutes, stark naked and the fan balanced on the window in such a way it may bring some cold are from.outside. at 3pm we decided we would try and move hotels, but since our flight was at 9pm we decided not too. On our recent trip we decided to stay at Kings Cross Inn and the difference for only £20 extra is unbelievable! We now have AC, spacious room, big bathroom, big TV, fridge , safe. This difference is astounding. The only way I would recommend this hotel is if you budget cannot strech and I would seriously recommend that if you contemplating staying here in summer to sleep on the street instead, joking aside I was seriously contemplating sleeping outside.
I’ve stayed here a few times. It’s extremely cheap for the location, and its situated very close to where I’ve had to be for work. However the rooms are extremely small and on the upper levels they get very hot. Still, good value for money.
We had a "cool basement room and this needed air-conditioning. The room was small to say the least. Sink not really big enough to wash your hands in but shower worked well. Ideally located for St. Pancras and acceptable for 1 night but no longer.
It was fine, but we had a basement room and the smell of cigarettes from the street was constant and you can hear people upstairs stomping loudly. Also the light in our bathroom went out one night and no one was around to fix it until tomorrow. I also found old takeput boxes under the bed.
Thr hotels location was great, one minute walk from Kings cross St. Pancras station. Our room was very tiny, as well as the bathroom. The bed was comfy. The room contained a kettle, coffee and tea and a Tv. The wifi signal wasnt good enough. In the room there was a big window with a view. The staff was kind and helpful. Unfortunately, there was no option for breakfast. Around the hotel there were a lot of restaurants and stores.
Needed a place to sleep that was near to St. Pancras/ Kings Cross, so this was the best option available at the time for the price. I booked a stay for two nights as I was travelling out of London. The location came in very handy for me to walk to the station on the morning as its only a two minute walk, so no complaints there. The staff were friendly and gave a fast check in alongside any needed extra information. Upon arrival I was informed my room was now a triple as opposed to a double, so that was nice for extra space. The beds were comfy and the rooms were clean, the maids came in to clean in the afternoon but not moving any personal things around, which was respected. My only complaints would be the bathroom size being very small so there was not much space to move after Id showered. The sink was also very small so could not fit the kettle under the taps to make a coffee, but these are all minor things. In the night and early morning there would be a knock which continued repeatedly every few minutes, it sounded as though it had come from our door, but must have been another door, or a door banging round in the wind or something, which was a small annoyance when trying to sleep. Aside from that, there was no noise from outdoors, which you might expect in busy areas. The room did get very hot on a night, there seemed to be no air conditioning, and the window didnt open enough to let enough air in, but if you can look past these minor factors, the stay was as expected and good enough for the price. Check out was fast and easy. I would look into staying here again, especially handy if you are wanting a great location with only a short walk from the main railway stations and shops/ eating outlets.
Good, simple and cheap hotel to stay in London. It is in agreat location, just 3 minutes by foot from the Kings Cross station. The double room is pretty small with enough space to walk around the bed, a tiny table and a chair. The bathroom is also small but with a great space for shower. There is no elevator and the wifi is a bit slow. In the room there is a small heater to prepare coffee or tea. In our case the spoon was very dirty si we didnt make use of the cups. Nevertheless, in general i am very pleased with the hotel. That was the secomd time that i booked there and i would stay again at a future opportunity. The combination of good price, friendly staff and great location make it to worth it.
The rooms small but cosy, clean as well. Its located really close to St Pancras station, once inside your most likely have to climb a few stairs just check your room ensure you go up the correct ones. The 24 hour reception is convenient but a little awkward for stay longer than a few days, wish they had another entrance.
Nice, friendly and clean hotel. Stayed the second time their. Floors, rooms and bathrooms are quite small´, but this is normal in London. Rooms were cleaned daily. Towels were changed daily too. Just 2 - 5 minutes walk to King´s Cross Station, St Pancras Station and Kings Cross St Pancras Tube Station. Even if it´s so close to the main road Euston road, it´s rather quite, because it´s at the end of Argyle Street. Hotel doens´t offer breakfast and has no restaurant, but you can eat it next to in McGlynns Free House pub. Alternative their are many Restaurants in and around the stations. WiFi is free too.
Very comfortable beds, which is all you really need from a hotel when youre a london tourist. Rooms arent too small for the price. Rather old, rusty and somewhat worn down bathroom but fine for a traveler who just sleeps and freshens up in his hotel room. Shower was still comfortable. Its an old-ish building, this means floors creek and squeak when people walk around so if youre someone who would be bothered by this, youll need to increase your budget and get a newly built hotel! After a long day walking around london, this didnt keep me awake one single bit though! ;Very close to kings cross st pancrass station/underground, which makes it super easy to get anywhere in London. Definitely recommend this hotel.
Paid: £88.20 to stay one night in June. Location is fantastic as super close to Kings Cross but I wouldnt stay here again. I communication was poor as I had booked through Expedia & asked for a room downstairs as Im 4 months pregnant. Instead my request was not acknowledged or actioned & when I arrived I was told I was in room 302 on 2nd floor. Despite 30 degree heat & seeing me struggle with my bags I was not offered help. Whilst Im not expecting the Ritz it was poor form & bad customer service. When I arrived at my room I found it to be tiny even though I booked a double room. Certainly the room would be too small & uncomfortable for 2 people. Shower room so small you couldnt even fit a bin in there! The room was clean but it felt so claustrophobic & as there is no air conditioning or fan I found myself having to sleep with window wide open & unable to sleep hearing people shouting or talking noises on the street. Do yourself a favour and book Point A to B down the road for a much better stay.
The hotel is quite close to Kings Cross station, which is good for arrival and further travel. It met expectations with regards to the size and quality of the room, which was enough for two adults travelling lightly and in need of a place to sleep and shower comfortably.
I dont know what to say. Perfect location for an early morning train, only a block away. This place was so odd it will give us laughs forever. We stayed here 2 nights, in two different rooms. It was mostly clean with bug spray left in the room, just in case. No bugs found. The first room we stayed in was in the basement and the view was of some kind of shed. I called in the Jack the Ripper special. I will try to post a picture. The second night we stayed on the first floor and our view was also a shed/parking lot with a window that would not lock. We were too tired to complain since we were leaving at 6 am anyway. Would I stay here again? Yes! The location trumps everything else.
The room is clean functional and simple. Just what you need for a quick stop over before a journey. There are alot of stairs and no lift, and its very narrow so not suitable if you like the extra room. The rooms also got very warm but it was a warm day and cold down with a fully open window. Just right for our needs
Location is very near the underground station and is easy to find. The front desk agent was friendly. Check-in was quick and simple. The rooms are very small, but they are clean and perfect if youll just be using them to sleep in.
Clean rooms and very conveniently located for the price. The rooms are pretty tiny, but thats to be expected for a budget hotel in London. It was pretty noisy, both through the walls and the windows, and the staff could be a bit more friendly/helpful, but otherwise a solid choice.
Great location, friendly & clean. Just a few hundred metres to Kings Cross train station & St. Pancras International Station or a casual half hour walk to Big Ben. Room is small, but if all you need is an overnight bed, and can cope with narrow stairs, as there is no lift, this is good value.
Good budget hotel with a fantastic location right near Kings Cross/St Pancras station. Room is extremely small! Basically no room to unpack, but price is good and location is perfect. A couple small pubs around the corner and a great small cafe for a quality, budget English breakfast called The Sandwich Street Kitchen.
Staff was kind, room was small, bathroom very small, but it was comfortable. The TV was in a great place and the location was pretty close to perfect. However. It was so hot when we visited in September and despite having AC in place, they refused to turn it on. So with our only option being to open the window thats what we were stuck with. Four bees welcomed themselves into the room which created mayhem, albeit a funny story. I had to sleep with a wet towel on me... seriously it was that got and Im from Texas, I know heat. The corridors are tiny, really tiny. Were not large people at all. Basically you felt like you were suffocating, but the location really helps.
