Made me tear up reading the stories of the children who grew up during the war.. The exhibitions are very well done and properly captioned to tell each story. I love it that they had little ladders and signs saying "ask an adult to tell you the story" - meaning they welcome kids to come in and view the exhibitions.Regarding logistics, there are lockers to keep your belongings before you enter. Worth a visit if you are coming to Sarajevo!

A must visit for anyone visiting Sarajevo. A place is not just a location, its also the people, their history. This museum originated from the history of Sarajevo and now transcended all man-made borders to chronicle the vicious cost of all wars on children all over the globe. We must learn the history, witness it, so we may never let it be repeated.

The idea behind the museum is very interesting. Each object in the museum has a heartbreaking story. Worth the visit. The last Thursday of each month the entrance is free after 17:00.

An opportunity to learn that all the wars that take place all over the world are similar, or rather they are one, because their results are the same "killing, displacement" and then the appearance of the "victorious" faces.

Wow! This is such an amazing museum - personal, heartfelt stories, each illustrated by an object (or severalthat each person has kept since they grew up during war. How anyone could fail to be moved, I dont know, but there is so much truth about war contained in there, its also enlightening.

It can be difficult to present such horrific events, but the war childhood museum does a good job of presenting the human side of things from the perspective of the child survivors rather than relying on the shock factor of greousome pictures. Staff were very friendly.Definitely worth a visit. Take the time to actually read all the placards though or you will totally miss the point of the way its presented.

Touching display of the linkages between everyday objects and the horror of experiencing war as a child. The inclusion of Syrian war victims items juxtaposed against the Yugoslav war stories reminds us that this pain is not something relegated to the past

Great museum, a superb and innovative concept which includes both personal stories from the children of Sarajevo siege and meaningful stuff connected to them, such as diaries, clothes, letters, toys, packages...I wish the museum was bigger and I hope it will expand both its space and activities in the future.

Really nicely put together. Very illuminating and touching. It was interesting to me because I remember when I was 14/15 years old and seeing the war in Sarajevo on the news. A lot of these memories were from my contemporaries, and it was interesting to learn through their eyes. If you’re only going to do a museum or two in Sarajevo, make it this one and the Tunnel of Hope.

Poignant museum, with 50 different items from children who experienced war (most from Bosnia, but not all). Each item is accompanied with a short story from the donator. Some of the items are positive memories, while others are a reminder of a young friend or sibling lost. Well worth a trip.

The idea of a war museum through the eyes, toys and writings of those who were kids at the time of war is great. Very touching and the staff give you a very good introduction explaining where the idea of the museum came from.

This museum is cleverly designed using a concept Ive come across once before. There are 51 items displayed, each of which provide the anchor for a story from one of these children of the war years. Each item has a particular significance to that child and the stories can be either read or listened to on the free audio guide provided. I recommend the audio guide which come with comfortable headphones. The stories for each item last between 30 seconds and 3 minutes, giving audio coverage of a bit more than an hour. I reserve the 5 stars though for the "Museum of Crimes against Humanity" which has more to see. Entry fee is 10 KM.

It is a nice to place to find out how our childhood would be if we grew up during a war. You can see different items from the war in Bosnia, Syria. Each item has a story behind.Ps. locks and guides are free. Workers are quite helpful. 5 euro for entrance for this place may be a bit expensive, however, it is worth to pay a visit.

The museum is beautifully put together and showcases some very touching artifacts from children during the war. It helped me understand the impact of the was on childhood and reflect on current issues worldwide that have a negative effect on children. I was very touched. It is simple and small yet very nice and really makes you reflect. At the end there is a small play/reading area for children and there are several children’s book about war and conflict. I highly recommend everyone to visit.

Brilliant experience. I shared this with my 10-year old and she enjoyed and learnt about the lives of children like her in a very obscure period of recent history. The museum has great artistic value, and helps understand the truly unfairness and utter stupidity of wars, affecting not only combatants but destroying all form of normality in the lives of innocent civilians, especially children that, wisely, arent able to comprehend the reasons behind the vast destruction of life and property for nothing of real value or meaning in exchange. A must-see if you go to Sarajevo and youre interested in humanity.

A quite impressive museum/ project, it should be visited by everyone. It might change the perspective in the whole horrible debate we have about refugees. The objects/ exhibits, are memories from those who were kids during the war, with their stories. Really touching and interesting. Unbelievable what theyve experienced during war. The staff was very friendly and well prepared.

As a child born in the war Im amazed how well this museum presented the view of the war from a childs perspective. I was reminded of the things from the war that I forgot by the time. Its an overwhelming experience but totally worth it, not many museums give this perspective of the war.

One of the better museums that I have been to. Really puts what happened during the war into perspective from a new and different direction. Had to take pictures of several things that were presented really well like this child’s swing and even the empty casing of a rocket/missile used during the war. The museum is a must visit during a trip to Sarajevo.

This place will leave you breathless and teared up. An absolute must to visit if you are staying in Sarajevo. I purposely havent added any photos from inside, so you can experience these heartbreaking stories yourself. They also sell a beautiful book with quotes by the children who survived the war. It is a beautiful reminder why peace is so much more desirable, so again: do NOT skip this one on your visit!

This is the most emotional museum in the city. It actually reflects how children see and feel the war in their short lives. There are sweet and tough stories, which will make you think about your childhood and the lack of awareness we have got about how kids are raised in this kind of environment.

A collection of items alongside short stories or memoirs that people have contributed to the museum related to the war. Some are light hearted while others are very heavy and heart breaking. Small, clean and well designed museum that will give you insight into the lives of children caught in the crossfires of destruction and give you something to think about. Cash only ~45 minutes

This museum is brand-new, and I strongly recommend that every visitor to Sarajevo come to see it. It portrays the reality of war through the experiences of the children who survived it. Some of the stories are uplifting, most are heartbreaking. This museum offers something very unique and almost did not get built, so it is very much worth the trip to visit.

A delicate journey into the resilience and ingenuity of children. A poignant reminder of the scourge of war. Visiting this one-of-a-kind museum was a unique experience, a powerful insight into the human condition. If you are not afraid of being overwhelmed with emotions, dont miss it when you are in Sarajevo.
