Walkabout, Reading in Orange

Was at Walkabout last night and am fairly new to to reading so was the perfect place for me to meet some new people my age! very lively atmosphere and felt very safe inside, drinks weren’t too expensive either. definitely recommend this place for drinks and some dancing. I was also served by a lovely lady called Emily B who was very approachable when asking about the best places to go and things to do in reading!

Karaoke night and it was mega. Love a good sing song and beers who doesnt. Lovey crowd lovely staff and door men and women were fab. I had a fantastic time here and would definitely go again if I was in the area. Genuinely lovely people even the young rowdy lads were brilliant.

Friendly service, good choice of drinks and good for watching sport.

I love coming here with my friend to watch football. Only downside is, floors are so sticky its like walking on glue :( The food takes ages - every time I order Hunters Chips, they take FOREVER. When they do come, theyre cold and so sticky with BBQ sauce: L

Great sports bar. Friendly staff and lots of TVs. Reasonable range of beer on tap but limited food menu. Sadly no steak sanga or chicken parma.

Great every Wednesday is Karaoke from 10pm to 2am is a big place 2 floor and different nights and events going on in I really raccomande to go and have a drink. Cheep for students good for bigger ;)

They no longer have any Australian beer (not including fosters). Otherwise its just a sports bar that plays questionable music when the sun goes down

Came to walkabout to watch the lionesses win the Euros! Very easy to book a table and get a tab. Good atmosphere, will definitely come again!

Regularly come here on a Saturday night, music is great and staff are always helpful and friendly. Best place to go on a night out in Reading. Would recommend.

Its a nice venue and I know most people arent going for food but, Service was terrible hence ordering food here. Had to wait ages and then when the food finally arrived it was the wrong order. I said this to the guy and he just dumped the food on the table and shrugged as If to say not my problem and then left.

I booked a table online for lunch and watch sports on Saturday and received an email shortly after asking for a £10 deposit which I paid and subsequently received a confirmation email so everything was in place. Then about an hour before we were supposed to go, I received another email all of a sudden saying that they had cancelled my booking because they “hadn’t” received my payment, even though I’d received a proper confirmation. I tried calling several times but each time only got through a the very rude customer service team who said that nobody was picking up at the bar and that the reason for them cancelling was that they “hadn’t” received the £10 payment even after I argued with them that I had a proper confirmation etc. They said I’d need to call directly to the venue and try to book again which of course was not possible as once again nobody picked up so I had to leave numerous voicemails on the answering machine urgently asking for a call back as this was a special occasion for my friends and I. But obviously nobody did call back so my day was ruined by very poor and disgusting service by the Walkabout and after this shockingly frustrating experience would warn anyone reading this to think again when considering this venue seeing they can just take your money, confirm your booking in writing and then ruin your day by just deciding to cancel minutes before you get there. “Ridiculous”SWHi there I have sent you the communication from your business confirming what I have mentioned above where it clearly asks for a deposit to confirm my booking and then your manager Justas sending me an email to cancel my booking shortly after I’d received a confirmation saying it was confirmed, quite contradictory to what you have started.

Service here used to be excellent years ago. But last couple of years it has pale in comparison. The menu offers minimal selection and today I waited a good 40 minutes before my food arrived.The chips looked a bit pale and I didnt even get the coke I ordered with it! I had to rush back to the car because it took so long and I was worried about getting a ticket, otherwise I wouldve mentioned it.

You can wait up to 30 min or more at the bar just to get a drink and when you get one its rare you see a smile on either faces on the other side of the bar.

I love love love coming to walkabout, cheap drinks on Fridays are so good and the music is always vibes. Emily is so fun behind the bar she always makes my night so much fun!

Went there on a Wednesday karaoke 🎤 night really good and the Guinness was only £2.50 a pint 👀

Lovely atmosphere from both the staff and venue. The range of events held here allow for an entertaining and an enjoyable night. Highly recommend that you check it out.

Absolutely lovely staff and an amazing night out. Drinks are fairly priced and there’s a wide range of cocktails, all of which are great. The food is to die for!! Cannot fault this place at all I highly recommend!!

Overcrowded bar. Not veey clean. Great for a pissup if youre 23 and under.

My friend tried to get her coat from a booth and was assaulted by a member of security, who screamed in her face and dragged her out of the club by her arm. Friend has visible bruises from the encounter.We left contact details with a manager who promised to check CCTV and address the situation today, however have heard nothing further. Completely unacceptable and will not be returning.

Bit tucked away. Know what youre getting with walkabout. Massive venue. Charging to enter on a Saturday night before 10pm was shocking though

Great dj, good vibes, largely a twenties crowd. I had a good time here. Good selection of drinks, tight security. The floors and tables were very sticky though.

Bouncer tried to drag a girl out of the bar for getting her shirt out of a booth. Screamed in her face. I spoke to the “manager” to make a complaint who said he would contact me today yet no response at all. Absolute shambles of a place and I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone!!

great music and drinks. wednesday night karaoke is the best, would for sure recommend for a casual but fun night out with your friends. the staff and management are amazing as well.

As an outsider to reading, it was honestly hard to enjoy the night when the dj played drake drake and more drake, like nothing against him but the lack of variety in the set was realistically painfulIf it was a drake night, let me know and Ill edit my review to 5*

Very Sticky floors like walking on honey so bad there people vaping everywhere indoor n bouncers dont seem to mind it at all..

Door staff are welcoming, staff are great and they have Karaoke on Wednesdays with a drink promotion. Ive only been there on a Wednesday night...

Amazing staff, amazing music and amazing service. If you’re looking for a live club this is the one. Want to go out on but don’t have much money? Come on Fridays pints between £2-£3, single drinks £2.50 all night!!!

Best night club in Reading by far! Amazing & friendly staff. Quality DJ, big up DJ CEEB always puts up a banging set every Saturday night. Definitely worth the money 😝. Would recommend 💯👌🏼☝🏼

Had a great time at Walkabout.. From the moment you walk in, bouncers, waiter / waitress and bar staff were all really friendly and welcoming. Food was great and drinks even better! Great atmosphere. Really fun evening. Will be back very soon.

Live music on Fridays is to die for! Also loads on discounts on a very big range of spirits and beers. if you are in reading you have to go there!

One of the best sports bar i have ever visited. Lots of screen, plenty of sky boxes and the massive projector screen makes the sports experience here unbeatable.

Had a great night here on Wednesday with karaoke. Brannoc served us all night and was class! Would 10/10 recommend, great night and will be back again.

Class. Visited for dinner. Had the katsu chicken which was a delight. Gin was great and the Rekordalig Watermelon even better.Staff were so polite and very accommodating since I’m so indecisive at the bar. Patience of a saint wish I’d gotten names but genuine awesome. When I’m next back in Reading I will definitely be visiting again.

Excellent food and service today. Attended a works meeting and got properly looked after. Maria and her team went above and beyond to ensure the day ran smoothly.Great service, fairly priced and good food. What more could you want?

From my experience there on nights out, let’s start with the positives: good space, plenty of seating (if you are so inclined to sit on a night out), nice outdoor section with comfortable booths, relatively decent priced drinks. Next, onto the negatives: the music is really hit and miss. The genre on a recent Friday night seemed to flip between girly pop (Single Ladies for instanceand mainstream chart, and was, in my opinion, on par with the atrocious music regularly put on at Be At One - Reading.

I give this 1 star for 1 reason only, every glass we got with our drinks was dirty. Not like a few marks but like lip gloss and grime all around the edges. We asked for a clean glass and they tried to get us a better one but I think it was still unexceptable. Honestly its not much to ask at a bar to have a clean glass.
