Walk-On's Bistreaux & Bar - Cajun restaurant in Slidell, United States
Dylan was an excellent server! Very friendly and efficient. Made our meal great!
Dylan was my server. He was great! Thank you Dylan. So nice and food came out fast!!!
Server was awesome, but we waited almost an hour for food and when the food came out was cold.
Walk-On? More like "Walk-Outs".Walk in at 11:05, no hostess. Only employee is behind the bar. Another employee emerges from the back, looks straight at us and proceeds to go behind the bar (no customers seated at bar). We left. This is pathetic.
me and some friends came and sat at the bar tonight with sydni as the bartender and heidi as the manager, not only was the food and cocktails amazing so was the staff! i definitely will be coming back and asking for sydni!!
Early night out with the group for a ride and Walk Ons happened to be open and doing business at 8pm on a Wednesday.Because there was a group of us we took a few tables and the hostess and server were awesome in accommodating us right away. The place looked clean and kept with great service. The beer selection was limited but I was more than happy with what I was served along with the meal. There were a few mistakes in the food being delivered correctly but it was compensated and everyone was happy.I would definitely say come back again to have some good food and enjoy a wonderful experience.
We were shopping and needed something to eat. Stopped at Walk-Ons. The food was good, came fast, service was great, and was able to watch some of the Saints game.
Our writers name was Dylan, he was AWESOME...great asset to the company...very professional and always made sure that our glasses were full and check on us oftenHe is DEFINITELY a keeper
I got the Caesar salad. The romaine lettuce was wilted with some brown spots. The toast points were stale, soft and hard at the same time. Boudin balls were just slightly warm. I won’t be back.
Someone come help this bartender. I just had the worst old fashioned ever. Tasted like they used Jack Daniel’s and it had a lemon peel 🥹Update: Anyone checking reviews and thinking Walk-Ons at Towne Center takes ownership of their mistakes and tried to make things right, please know that they DO NOT. They send a generic review response, and then they don’t respond. They leave the review to look good. I left this review feeling silly and sassy after literally having the worst Old Fashioned ever.Awhile back though,My boyfriend tried to get lunch to go and surprise me at my place of work. They messed up the order, bad. We simply got salads, but they didn’t include the protein. I was working and on the clock, so we couldn’t just go and get it fixed. He tried calling, they said they’d fix it, but they didn’t. He left a review, they sent the same generic response saying to email and they would fix it. No surprise, NO RESPONSE. They don’t actually care about making it right. Go somewhere else. Even the Walk-Ons in Denham is better. This place is not worth it.
We had a great time at Walk-Ons for our impromptu family-night-out! Dylan was awesome - friendly, attentive and engaged. Drinks arrived quickly and appetizers and entrees were perfectly timed. The food was delicious. All-in-all a wonderful night out with the family. Well be back, and well ask for Dylan. 😉
We just love the service great drinks and even better food. They dont have competition, if you want to watch sporta... go here!!!
This restaurant has improved so much. The service was amazing thanks to kelli. The food wad hot and delicious!
Dylan was an exceptional waiter. He was very attentive and courteous. I would definitely come back because of him. He has such a great attitude and was such a pleasure to be around. I hope this gets to who it needs to and Dylan gets the recognition he deserves!
9/21/22 came late for dinner with my family! The food came out fast and hot.Dylan was our server he was so attentive and polite! It’s been forever since we received quality service, definitely will visit this location again!! 👍🏾
I usually arrive at 11am to sit at the bar and watch all the Saints games here but I left before end of the 1st quarter. Assuming the name on the receipt is correct, Taryn was terrible. My friends and I will be looking elsewhere to watch Saints games if she is working behind the bar.
Idk what the white specs on my broccoli were. And my fish tacos were so LITTLE. This curbside pickup was horrible. I will never be back. I ordered from Lafayette location recently and they filled my tacos FULLY !!Edit: THAT IS CLEARLY NOT SALT! And no explanation on the broccoli that was most likely 4 days old.
The Towne Center location has struggled since last year. The help is always nice and its clean but the food quality is up and down. Will still visit this one but hope they can get it back to where it used to be.
Friendly atmosphere food was almost non edible.. I had the pastalaya. There was a half cup of oil in that dish. I cook jambalaya for large groups. Pastalaya is relatively easy dish Whoever cooked that either didnt care or wasnt paying attention.
This walkons is missing the mark. Staff turned off the exterior lights at 930 toi act like they were closed. Staff had already started picking up like they were closed. Bathrooms were a mess as well.Waitor told us that the food that was ordered was not available about 10 min after ordering. He suggested another item as a secondary then later we found out they upcharged for his suggestion. Food was not brought out at the same time. People we are just talking about a burger with fries . Once everyone had thier food the last item brought was cold which means they forgot the food. This is my 3rd bad experience on this mangers shift. Leslie is tge shift manger. Disappointing when this restaurant was a top staple of BR
I recently visited walkons towns center location to do some afternoon grubbing after my Long day of work . I ordered an alcoholic beverage named Death Valley that my bartender BRANDON obviously made with absolute love and compassion, I can tell this young man can read what each one of his customers is going through and can make there experience at this town center walkons the highlight of there day!BRANDON made sure my boom boom shrimp came running from the grill to my seat as fast as possible and did it all with a smile on his face . He earned every bit of his tip last night
We eat at the one in Gonzales all the time and we like it, but the Towne center location was pretty terrible as far as the service goes. They sat us at the bar. Took a while to get initial service. My food came out wrong. Took a while to get it corrected. I told my server to just get me a burger. It was cooked well done and dry. We ordered desert and it took forever to get. I had to get up from the table to look for my server at the bar to pay my bill because she was doing a liquor count. It was all pretty bad. I wont be returning to that location again.
Came in for lunch with my husband and ordered the catfish platter and Hickory Burger which was amazing! Our waitress Chandice gave stellar service, before we even had to ask for something she had it coming! We will be coming back
Family and I came in a little after lunch time on Sunday. We were immediately seated. Customer service was good and it did not take long for us to receive our food. Only hiccup was that the buffalo wings were not brought to our table until everyone was almost done with the food. Apparently they forgot to bring it to the table but it was drowned in buffalo sauce so didn’t look very appetizing. We sent that back but the boudin, shrimp poboy and pickles were good. Loved the fries!
Staff is friendly but they dont seem very happy to be here. food is okay. Im not wowed by it. nothing pulls me back. We came in today for lunch and no one greeted us at the front. we stood there for 5-10 min before we left. in their defense, it was crowded so they were probably busy, but the food isnt worth the waot
I had a shrimp poboy. The definitely was not fresh, it had a Clorox type smell. Overall they didnt seem that busy but I guess our waitress was some where else. Ive ate at the Lafayette and Lake Charles locations in the past and were fantastic!!!! Im not sure what is going on with the food quality at this location....disappointed.
The food was great and the staff were friendly. My only complaint is that it took a while to bring out our main dish.
The service at places like this will ruin the experience every single time. Every! Slow service and all the waitresses walk around on their cell phones. Unbelievable. The food is okay, but not worth sitting 25 min just for a greeting
The Louisiana Combo was good. I started early lol. Plate was full before the picture. Ok Walk-On’s.
You will literally have to argue with the GM Trey if you find any issue with your food. Me and my family waited over an hour to receive horrible food. My sliders were so overdone that it could be considered jerky. Hush puppies were burnt. Fries were cold. Stay away from the pasta they intentionally make it so dry that you have to pay for additional cheese sauce and thats not even enough to cover how bland the dish really is. I wish I could say this is an isolated incident but its not.
My order was showing ready for pickup at 2:00 got there 7 minutes early waited until 2 then called to check in 10 min passed girl came out to car next to me with their order then turned to my vehicle asked me for my name went back inside. I waited until 2:25 no one came I sent my son in to get my order he said he saw the girl . Nothing was said about the hold up or acknowledge me at all.
Ordered 2 salads to go on my lunch break that were supposed to have shrimp (standard on the menu I didn’t add it), neither had shrimp. I called them about it and was told a manager would call me back and they never did. This isn’t the first time they have messed up a to go order for me but the other times were smaller things I could live with.Update: they responded here to email them and never replied to the email, they are just responding on google to make it look like they care at all
I had to interrupt the manager talking rudely to his staff to confirm that there is no way that they will ring up three different sliders and fries for my meal. The service here has never been stellar, and this is really the tipping point. I have tolerated the terrible service and sub-par food for the few months I’ve spent in BR because they have a decent selection of beer that comes out cold, but this is really the tipping point. The manager here is rude to his employees in front of customers, and encourages a culture of not helping customers any more than they absolutely have to.
The floor and the table were sticky, it was unpleasant. The queso was cold and it took 45 min to come out. The employees were nice to us, but they were screaming at each other. Probably will not come again if I have a choice.
Really disappointed at my most recent visit. The restaurant was warm, I get it, were in the middle of a heat wave, but then get told that there is no draft beer because the taps are too warm. Only bottled domestic. Service was very slow, took several minutes to get our waters and order taken despite the restaurant being only about 1/4 capacity on a Friday night. I can see why Im very discerning about when and where I go out to eat, especially with the cost of everything being so high. I almost walked out but my daughter is with us and complaining that shes starving. No napkins or plates once food was brought out, just plopped it down in front of us. Our waitress never came back to refill our water once our food did come. I wont be back.
If I could give this a 0 I would. Customer service was so bad.The waiters never check on us at the table, took forever to bring out drinks, hung out in the kitchen laughing and talking instead of checking on tables, appetizers came out a few mins before the entree that we been waiting for for over 40 mins. I love Walk ons but this location is a no go.Never again will I come here.Beware if you come here you will be waiting a real long time to be served and your waiter will not check on you.Don’t mention that the food had no season and was served cold even after having to wait a long time. This place have really gone downhill what a shame.
This place has a very laid back vibe. Its very busy and full of sound all the time:So if you like calm dining this is not the place. Food is good and service is great.
This was one of my worst experiences dining out while travelling! Our waiter couldnt be bothered to pay attention to the table and spent most of the time we were there hanging out in the kitchen. The food was bland for cajun and the shrimp were a bit rubbery. There was not a list of the craft beers at all, and I was advised to walk over to the bar and look at the taps for my decision. Just a bad experience over all
Service was good food was good. My only beef was that they dont have bone-in wings. Its a sports bar...they lost points for that. Plus all I had was appetizers and drink, but still spent $75 after tipping out my server. Another point for that.
I used to love Walk On’s, so when my daughter picked it for her graduation dinner I thought it was a good choice. We called Saturday to make reservations and they told us someone would call us back. We called back Sunday after they hadn’t called us, and someone told us we didn’t need reservations though we had a party of 15. I thought that was odd considering it’s graduation season but we believed them. However, after arriving Monday night the manager told us we’d have a 45-minute wait. Though we had family who needed to get back on the road, they agreed to wait it out. It took forever to get our food and then several of our group didn’t like their order. My son’s wings were wrong. My gumbo was cold and seemed old. The rice was hard on all the dishes. We spent most of the time looking for our server, and I wonder how she ended up taking a table of 19 by herself (we ended up having 4 additional guests). This was the worse Walk On’s experience I’ve had, and I hate it occurred on my daughter’s special day. We thought we’d be treating our family to a new experience, but this was far less than expected.
So glad I paid $60 on my Waitr order for food that wasn’t even what we asked for.Fried chicken in Buffalo wrap, no tomatoes, ranch on the side, and maybe some fries that weren’t completely soggy would be great next time. Walk-ons never ceases to completely disappoint.
I took one bite of my pasta and it was nasty and not seasoned. I was polite about it and asked my waitress could I give it back in return for another dish or my money back. She was very nice and said that she would refund me but she would have to ask her manager to make sure. she went to go get the manager and I asked the manager if I could be refunded or exchange it for something else. He proceeded to consistently ask me why I didn’t like it and asked if I wanted a to go box even though i’m clearly telling him I do not want it and that it’s nasty. he refused to exchange it for something different or give me my money back. Instead he brought me a cup of sauce and a cup of dry Italian seasoning and walked off. I feel like if he didn’t want to let me exchange it or get my money back, he should’ve at least had the chef remake my pasta correctly instead of just giving me a cup of dry raw flakes and seasonings. I feel like I should’ve at least been given a discount or something. I payed for something I couldn’t even eat.!I could see if i ate half of the pasta and tried to return it but i literally took ONE bite. The manager wasn’t necessarily rude but he didn’t handle this situation how any other manger at other restaurants would. At any other restaurant the manager would’ve offered another meal as a replacement or would have just simply given my money back with no issues. I would’ve even been satisfied with just some fries or something rather than nothing. I had to sit there hungry while my peers got to enjoy their dish.
The food would have been a 5 if the grits were a little more creamy. The shrimp on top was tasty. It was a shrimp stuffed with cream cheese and jalapeños wrapped in bacon glazed with a jalapeño pepper jelly. I wanted to love the corn grits only if they were more creamier.
Could not be more disgusted by the state of the women’s bathroom. One stall contains a completely broken toilet seat. Another has no lock whatsoever. You’d think we were in some dumpy Taco Bell off the highway. The floors are sticky and has toilet paper and random items all over it. I’ve expressed my frustration and disgust to the managers several times but nothing ever changes. This may be the breaking point for me and walkons.
The Mango Mahi was delicious. Apps and beer were great and served quickly. Great experience for our first time here and would come again. Very reminiscent of BJs if you ever heard of that
Food was great! I had the gator wrap and I loved it. Portions were a bit small though and appetizers were very pricey. I didnt have any drinks, so I cant comment in that. The atmosphere was nice, the staff was very nice.
Great place! I was looking for a sports bar since Im not from here so I could watch the games an not be in my hotel. I sat at the bar an Kayla was my bartender shes very sweet great customer service.
First let me say I love this location. I go there often, which is the reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1. Tonight was a definite miss. I ordered cheeseburger sliders which were burned. Waffle fries which were burnt. And a chocolate chip cookie sundae which you can see is burnt in the picture. Keep in mind I waited over an hour on curbside pick up. The waitress felt so bad she give me a free drink. I love walk ons and I will be back but this specific experience really upset me.
Walk-Ons is a great place for a quick lunch in the late afternoon. Fast and friendly service. I havent ordered the alligator in a while, this time it was delicious! Cooked just right. Id like to see some other gator dishes. Gator tacos, gator salad, maybe gator sandwich. I like bringing out of towners here to ease them into some of our food before bringing them home to try my nutria ice cream. Once you get paid for the tails why let the rest go to waste?
Everything was so good. Prime rib po-boy was the star of the show. Steak was very tender and the sauce on it so perfect. Stuffed burger was tasty but messy. Had to resort to fork and knife method lol. Appetizer also both excellent. Service also very good and friendly
