Waikiki - Puerto Rican restaurant in San Juan, Puerto Rico
Waikiki in San Juan
Description
Privilege
It took too long for anyone to take our order. But the food was ok. The waiter Alejandro was extremely rude
MoreJust flew in and starving, service was great the guy out front was out going gave us a sample of a coconut drink great. The shrimp lobster monfongo was great. Will be back tomorrow for the coconut drink.
MoreGood food and good service I’d recommend for a nice quick meal in condado very affordable
MoreEverything was nice and the food was good. I had the mofongo with lobster and shrimp and it was really good. The view was perfect.
MoreGreat view, staff and food. Must try the piña colada at the entrance!!
This is probably the biggest hidden gem.Customer service was A+Javier took care of us as a party of 20+ for a birthday! They were solid with tickets. The food was exquisite! Definitely recommend to anyone looking for an amazing family place.
MoreThis was the worst experience I ever had with any restaurant. I came here while on vacation to bite into my food and find a long piece of hair in my food while the manager was standing infront of me. He then looks at me and says “I don’t know what you want me to do.” Never offered a meal replacement. Never offered any compensation. Then asking him about the compensation, he says “it’s not me. It’s the kitchen.” I will never come here again. Food was amazing but the manager and staff was not professional about my complaint.
MoreHow do i start the waiter waa fine , the drink was not good. My order was not what i order and there was roaches walking around as if they were paying customers. The manager was untouched by all this.
MoreI had the shrimp Al Ajillio style Monfongo and let me tell yall it was waaayy better than Raices monfongo in old san juan that everyone said was the best. Definitely a must try and I will be back 💯
MoreNow this place it’s amazing the view the food the drinks!!!! The service was really great! I went twice in my 6 days vacation and will go back again!
MoreGot cocktails and appetizers both came out separately with 20 minutes of time waiting in between, by the time they came out our 1st round of drinks had been finished. The grouper crisps (well seasonedand oysters (freshwere good but the spinach dip was average and came out room temperature. Visits from our waiter were far and few (despite the place being completely emptyprompting us not to stay any longer for a full meal. Overall we spent way too much time sitting around (over an hourfor only apps and a round of drinks.
MoreI absolutely enjoyed eating behind the ocean. Watching the waters and waves beat against the sand. The food was amazing and so was the drinks.
MoreService was great! Food & drinks pretty good too! Google says they have sunset view, but its not dead on. You can enjoy the sunset but not at your table! Haha
MoreRestaurant is still remodeling but open for service. Fish was bland and slightly underdone (at least for me). Mofongo was on point. Service was excellent. Our server was bright, cheery, helpful and really seemed like she enjoyed the area and her job. I’d like to return and try more local menu items!
MoreNice setting on the water. After that it was hit and miss. Ceviche was excellent. Nice portions and chunks of fish. Not too lime tasting, good balance of flavor and chips on the size were fresh.I have the churrasco with tamarindo sauce. The sauce was a nice cover for the steak which was not properly seasoned and over cooked. So it chewed touch and not very juicy as this type of preparation tends to have. The rice and beans were sooo good. Could of have just those!!!
MoreThe staff was refreshingly courteous & so friendly which pared excellent with the food & drinks. I highly recommend this place for the food & service. 😊👍
MoreWe traveled from San Francisco, for my sons 13th birthday. The food was incredible and the servers where very nice and professional. Cant wait to go back.
MoreIncredible sunset and ocean view (make sure to reserve a front view table), delicious food, and very caring service and hospitality. We loved it so much we reserved it for another time again :)
MoreMy first restaurant in this touristy town that I have truly enjoyed, and decently priced too! The fish ceviche was some of the best Ive ever had, drinks were yummy, service was great and it was wonderful to be able to have a nice view of the beach as we ate.All the stars!Super grateful to a local named Shelly who gave us the tip :)(Id dona pic of the food, but I ate it. So I left a pic of the view)
MoreGreat view & area to get food or have drinks. Not too pricey compared to other spots in the area
MoreWorst experience ever! We were seated right away which was nice, however we waited another 25mins to order. Our food never came and the server kept saying he didn’t understand why, yet people who came after us got their food and drinks. After 1hr, he states maybe another 20mins. We go up and paid for our drinks and left. While paying we requested to speak to a manager but none came, so we paid and left.Honestly, I felt discriminated against because everyone else was Spanish or white and after this experience I can never visit this restaurant when in town.
MoreGorgeous beach-side location, with amazing views.Friendly service. And great food!
MoreWe asked for a fish there, was $16 and I asked for the guy if the fish normally came with rice and salad and he told me “yes, I can do it”. When we was going to pay, we saw that a salad (just lettuce, some slices of carrot and ONE piece of tomato was $5), the rice with any flavor or salt was $3 and the potatoes fries was $5 too.We also asked for the “can can” and after 15 minutes he came back saying “we don’t have can can more, sorry”
MoreAmazing food, breathtaking views, and great service! Waikiki is definitely a hidden gem in the condado area. We went for their oysters during lunch but they were unfortunately out of them from the night before. Our waiter recommended us to the ceviche which was super fresh and tasty (our first time trying it). For our entrees, we got the blackened grouper (a massive portionand the seafood pasta which both were perfectly seasoned and made fresh. Views from the outside seating were breathtaking (but the winds could get super strong—3 tables all moved indoors while we stayed outside). Be careful of the pigeons!!! We stood up to take pictures of the views and the pigeons all flocked onto our table to eat the food (fortunately, we were done with the meal already). When the waiter saw, he rushed out to help us get the pigeons away. Highly recommend Waikiki if you’re in the area!
MoreDelish!! The food was super tasty and their tres leches desert was to die for. My family and I had a great meal here.
MoreThe food was very good. The waiter was very nice, but the kitchen did not support him. He brought the food out as it was done, so very hot and fresh, but everyone ate at different times. Go with the grouper flat vs sandwich. Too heavy of a bun.
MoreThe staff were friendly and are bilingual. The food tasted amazing. I ordered the ropa vieja specialty. On the side I had fried plantains, rice and red beans, and yuca mofongo. For desert we ate the most delicious tres leches cake. It was one of the best I’ve had in Puerto Rico! For cocktails, we ordered long island ice teas and they made sure they were heavy handed on the alcohol unlike other places which water drinks down. I’d recommend eating outdoors if you can, the view is gorgeous!
MoreWe had subpar dining and service experiences while in Puerto Rico. Waikiki changed that! We chose Waikiki as our last dinner on the island because of its beach location. We got right in and had a seat in the patio with an ocean view. The service was fantastic, they were attentive and quick. The meal was absolutely delicious! We had the grouper filet and linguine and both were amazing and paired beautifully with tamarind margaritas. This was the perfect experience to end our stay in Puerto Rico. Highly recommend!!
MoreThe food was awesome! Their house drink has local rum and is strong enough for those who wanna pack a punch but sweet enough for those that wanna go easy. The menu is a versatile and prices are reasonable. Its a few blocks away from the hotels as well so walking to enjoy the is recommended.
MoreThe service was excellent! We ordered the Can Can, seafood mofongo, calamari and oysters. Everything was very good.
MoreFood was amazing. I went three times 🤦🏽♀️❤
My friend and I dined here hoping to get a meal by the beach. Upon arrival, we took a seat in the patio area out looking the sea. However, it took us longer than 10 minutes to even speak to the waiter, who took orders from a couple that had sat later than we had. Despite the fact the there were only a couple tables by the beach and none inside at the time we were seated, it took him longer than 20 to bring us waters. Additionally, when receiving the mojito I ordered, I noticed a fly in it. When the waiter, Alejandro, offered another, I took it, but realized there was another, even larger fly in it. He also refused to take either mojito off the check upon request at first, and also overcharged us with an “open cocktail” bill for the milkshake (only $7 on the menuwe ordered. Also, when asking for the manager, the waiter claimed that she was busy. He did, however, give me a false number that did not go to the manager. I am extremely disappointed by the service at this restaurant.
MoreAbsolutely delicious! One of the best meals I had during our week stay! Highly recommended. The Grouper Sandwich is the Bomb and the view from the patio is amazing!
MoreBusy place! We made no reservation, but they accommodated us! We sat and watched the Atlantic ocean as we ate. Food was good! Servers were serving !! Also the tres leches was v good Ive only had it homemade before but my friend wanted to try it so we split it, I do not regret it
MoreGreat food and customer service, our waiter was so helpful and all the food he recommended was great. We were told it would be a wait and it was worth it.
MoreOverall experience was good! We called and made reservations on the patio. Table was ready and appetizer and drinks came quickly. The patio view is amazing! Very windy tho and expect the occasional rain storm. We eventually moved inside because of the wind and they accommodated us very quickly! We got a dozen oysters ( they were good, not greatthe ceviche (YUMand the seafood mofongo was outstanding! Our waitress was amazing even tho she was slammed with a large group while waiting on us and many other tables. We did have to wait a while for drinks at times but it wouldn’t prevent us from going back again. We really enjoyed the experience, service and the food!
MoreBeautiful views(see picture, great service, delicious mojitos, def recommend getting a traditional puerto rican dish called Mofongo!
MoreLocal food with amazing view. Sitting outside on the terrace is a must... also the coconut mojito!
Morevery limited street parking here, but paid parking lot is pretty cheap. The outside view is amazing to the water u will definetly feel In the tropics. Amazing view for sure. The place looks great and the staff is awesome. We came late after closing and they still accommodated us and let us in and made us food I was so happy.WIKIKI DRINK- A little weak but very fruity and yummy i had a couple cause it was so refreshing and fruity.SHRIMP AND LOBSTER MOFONGO- with guajillo sauce, I saw the pic here with the lobster tail and all. When I ordered, no lobster tail presentation I was honestly disappointed a bit. The ajillo sauce was not super awesome it was a ok plate, but I was not super impressed. The mofongo was a bit harder than Im used to and the seafood was lacking presentation and abundance. For 28 bux I expected more. Theres only 2 shrimp and a ok amount of lobster. Definetly not worth the price.Over all I would avoid the main course I had but everything else was pretty amazing. The staff made my day.I will come back for the grouper cause my friends had it and it looked pretty amazing .It was an amazing experience. The back garden or shall I say the ocean view veranda, the drinks and the food, all was awesome, the staff omg I cannot commend and admire their hospitality enough. Please eat here that is all I can say.
MoreThe view is pretty , but the flavor of this grouper and the salad made it so delectable to both of us. The service was welcoming and respectful. La cuenta es media.
MoreAmazing views, very attentive service and the seafood is spectacular. I had the tiger prawns (blackenedand the fish tacos and they were cooked perfectly. Their pina coladas are pretty good too!
MoreThis restaurant was nice. The food was awesome and our waiter was very polite and on point. He always came by to check on us and referred to me as "caballero", which means sir in spanish. The patio outside is beautiful and is overlooking the ocean. We sat there and watched an albatross glide and dive for fish. It was really neat to see. I had to give my compliments to the chef cause the food was so good.
MoreThe back deck was nice but that’s about it. Didn’t have oysters and wings for lunch time. the drinks were weak even though we asked for double shots. The food was subpar, overpriced, and quite frankly wasn’t up to standard compared to everything else around it. The half pound burgers were smaller than a quarter pounder and the sautéed veggies were grilled with some creamy sauce, not sautéed at all. At one point, we asked for salsa for the chips and the server brought us marinara sauce. The server forgot one of our meals in our group of 7 and we didn’t see him again before everything was finished to find out what’s up. If we weren’t forced to default tip, we sure as hell weren’t going to.
MoreHidden gem of a restaurant on Avenida Ashford in Condado. When you walk in to this cute casual restaurant bar there is always a warm welcome from the exceptional staff. If you keep walking through the restaurant and walk out the back doors, there is a large patio with an incredible view of the ocean. Its the most beautiful yet super casual ocean front dining spot in Condado. Their menu includes a range of Puerto Rican style appetizers and entrees. We had the fresh Ceviche and Salad along with their Ropa Vieja with Cassabe Mofongo. Everything was bursting with flavor! We also enjoyed a bottle of a really great Malbec wine. We will definitely be back! Thank you to all the staff at Waikiki for being so amazing in every way!
MoreGood service and decent food. Nothing special though. Better food can be had elsewhere. Good prices on beer. Only tried the ropa Viejo and the grouper with ajillo sauce. The side of rice and beans was horrible. The tostones were delicious.
MoreGreat atmosphere and view. Service very good. Ceviche 👌. Chicken not so good. Quesadillas with flank steak very good.
MoreOverall it was a decent experience. The food was amazingly good, chicken wasnt dry or bland it was juicy and tasty. Salmon and grouper crisps were flaky and felt fresh, cassava was hot and crips and even the cheese balls were yum. All the sauces were interesting.Drinks were perfect. One think is that the service was a bit slow and one of the waiters kept forgetting to get us our drink, or water or sauce when we asked so we had to ask repeatedly.Other than that side note I would go back and bring friends.
MoreMy fav in Condado! This place has an incredible ocean view. Sit indoors, at the roadside bar, or outside on the back patio and watch the waves crash on the rocks below. The food is very good and prices are so reasonable! Friendly, fast service.
MoreI went late afternoon, around 4, for an early dinner. There were a few people at the bar and I was the only table guest. The food and service was good, nice atmosphere. I felt it was overpriced for the food I had, but this is tourist area. The next night a few of my coworkers went for dinner during the rush and had a meh experience. They the service was good but food was disappointing.
MoreGreat place to eat or drink with a bunch of PPl. The place has 2 terrace one with street view and a front beach terrace with spectacular ocean view.
