48-acre wooded state park with waterfalls, picnic areas & hiking trails, plus fishing & restrooms.
This wad a very nice place to find solitude
A short walk/hike down a cute path with tree roots as "stairs". The falls were still pretty even with the water level being so low.
Small but wonderful falls just a short walk from the parking lot. Nearby picnic tables, grills. Great place for a picnic.
Nice big parking lot..short walk to the falls
An amazing spot! Some challenging hiking paths, but totally worth it.
Very very beautiful area. Short hike. Wouldnt suggest if you were unstable on tail. Could do other hikes around the falls if wanted to explore. Picnic tables and bbq area available. No swimming. Expect smaller falls in summer than in spring. All the same very nice area.
State park with a beautiful waterfall. Not the easiest to get to and the dirt road was quite bumpy, so slow driving is called for. We only walked the trails directly to the falls but other trails led off the main one so theres a decent amount of walking here. There are picnic tables overlooking the falls which make for a great lunch spot.
Great spot. Awesome place for a cold dip in the heat of summer
Great waterfall. Easy slope to navigate to see falls!
Nestled in a very quiet wooded area. Not easy to find due to lack of signage en route but Google maps does its job. Due to lack of popularity of this place, its not very crowded. Once you arrive at the parking area, the fall is about a minute down from there. Porta potty is there at the parking area. Just one, but it was the cleanest Ive ever seen. It took my whole family by surprise. While hiking towards falls and before the falls there is small picnic area with about 3-4 picnic benches. As usual you have to take out your trash. Talking about trash, it was overflowing at the time. No swimming allowed but you can we your feet. Water was not that clean and was not a lot of water falls. This year has been the first though. We hiked around the falls. It is on the left side of you are interested. Its rugged but doable. If hiking above the falls you will encounter more cascades and it is beautiful too. You can also hike with the flow and although we didnt get a chance, I believe it leads to where it merges in to the reservoir. Cell service is okay. We were able to talk but video calls were not great. Overall we enjoyed our trip here and did not encounter pesky bugs.
Dried up so not much of a water fall atm, wait to go after a rain storm or something to get the full effect, nice trails though and a good walk in the woods.
This is really good family picnic spot. The trail is easy. There are 2 picnic tables near the falls. There are portable restrooms in the parking.
Nice waterfall to visit.
Great bang for the buck. Short easy loop hike with beautiful cascades and places to sit and eat.
Quick hike only, to see the falls. Nice little park.
Great little place. Large parking lot and short walk to falls. There are other trails off that spot people have created. Definitely would check out again.
Absolutely amazing waterfall & great sight to see, and even bring your kids if you have them. Its plenty safe & easy to get to, and less than 5 min of a walk from the parking lot.- There is also 2 picnic tables, with a charcoal grill each per table if anyone ever wanted to grill here, its possible, just please always be sure to be kind to nature & take every spec of trash out with you. Thanks for considering Wahconah Falls, I highly recommend it and hope you enjoy it as much as I did!!
Gorgeous, short walk from parking lot
The short walk to the falls was icy but worth it.
Short hike along the river but very neat to see. Plenty of water falls and steep drop offs. Ends near a large dam worth viewing.
Gorgeous views, very short excursion to the lower falls. 5 minute walk to the upper falls area. If you go during winter, bring spikes itll be icy.
First time going there and it was mesmerizing the waterfall itself is awesome so add the rest of the environment and its truly spectacular.
Beautiful place. Parking lot available. The waterfall isnt far from the parking. Easy hike. We even took our child in his wagon. He had fun climbing into the rocks. Our family had a nice time there. Saw alot of hikers come and go.
Access right off the parking lot. Two picnic tables overlooking the waterfall. There is a trail, but we didnt walk it. Great place to have lunch. Porta potty in the parking area.
Beautiful. Peaveful. Worth the drive. Take the entrance road slowly, little rough.
Gorgeous waterfalls and a lovely walk to a reservoir. Easy for little kids or a dog.
What a great quick lil hike. Omg. So cute. Gorgeous lil fall. Loved it. 😍
A quick walk to the falls. The initial trail down to the main path has a bit of an incline and then another to get to the main viewing area. Probably not even 5 minutes. Theres picnic tables and little grill stations. I would have loved to stay longer than I did.
Worth the drive. Fall is beautiful and really close to the parking lot. It has a few tables for picnic. I went on Aprils school vacation and had the place only for me and the kids which was a plus.Take one of trails up to the little dam and enjoy the view.
Beautiful waterfall! And its really worth it to hike up the hill to see the whole series of smaller falls and narrows ...
Easy to get to the Falls. The reservoir was about one mile away.
Beautiful place, even in winter. It peaceful with a beautiful light
Nice place to stop to check out several waterfall. Beautiful in the fall, great place for a picnic. Moderate hikes to the falls are fairly short. There is exposure to steep cliffs so hold onto young children. Not all trails are clearly marked and some are fairly muddy.
Beautiful falls, well worth the short hike!
Very short five minute walk to the falls. Well worth the trip. We decided to go downstream to see what we could find. Didn’t see any trail blazes but just followed the stream until we couldn’t go any further. The children had a blast climbing on the rocks and looking for wildlife. We spent maybe about 30-45 minutes here which was perfect for us today. They have a couple of grills and picnic tables with view of the falls. Bathroom on site but closed due to Covid-19.
Nice , little hike.pretty views
Nice falls. Not crowded. Dont need to spend much time there unless you swim or picnic
This was a great place for a shorter hike. Dont let the length of the joke fool you though...it was a good bit of climbing and not necessarily well marked. You can also hike more along the waterfall/water stream, which also makes it harder. The kids had a lot of fun, but they were super tired by the end of the hike. No regrets here because the scenery was absolutely beautiful, and I recommend anyone in the area to see this place!
Nice easy hiking , bountiful falls definitely recommended to see.
Nice shady place with waterfalls. Great for short hikes along river.
Loved going here with my kids. Easy to get to and beautiful.
Just a quick visit. Fairly easy short walk down and up with my two little kids. Very calm and serene. Worth a stop if you’re nearby!
Wahconah Falls state park is a nice place for a quick visit. Parking is limited so go early or visit on a weekday. The falls are a short walk from the parking area but it would be a challenge for anyone with disabilities due to the steep incline and rough terrain.
I would have given this place a 5 star rating had it not been for the lack of signage & trail markings. It’s a beautiful place, parking lot is just a short walk from the gorgeous falls...just follow the sound. There are 2 nice large picnic tables at the falls. Reviews said to hike up river above the falls. Nothing was marked & ground was covered with wet leaves but we followed right up along the water and it was a beautiful walk. So much more to see, there were other cascades, water rushing over boulders, etc. Spring thaw is always a good time to be near waterfalls.
Absolutely beautiful and so much fun to hike and explore! Its like a play ground theres so much to do and so much to explore
Always has been my hometown favorite place. The waterfall can be slow at times and other times it can be raging. There are places for you to have cook outs. Trying to figure out the history of this place has been one of my favorite things to do. If you look hard enough you can find many hidden treasures, you just have to be curious enough!
Fun park to stop at. Have been in all season.
Not sure why people say its hard to find the falls. You park and you can hear the falls. Then walk like 2 minutes down a trail and you see it. Perhaps other hiking trails are not clearly marked. They do have a few picnic tables around. People do swim despite a no swimming sign. Cool spot easy to get to.
Really beautiful falls! If you venture a little further than just the main falls you get some really awesome views.
One of the nicest places to see locally and easy to get to. A wheelchair could likely get down there with assistance to see the falls. Has grills for cookouts and tables. If you need a little more challenge, hike to get above the falls. I suppose my only gripe is the reward is a little too easy.
