Village-style attraction featuring a museum, bakery, craft shops & period architecture.
A wonderful place with a lot of history.
Older place in the city and they also have small old shops in the old buildings.
Nice relocated and maintained Swedish historical buildings. Tour is very much self-guided.
Beatuful place for children to walk.
I might be unfair only giving 4 stars. Wadköping definitely gets 5 stars for Ambiance and Cozy Feeling. The quality of the place is in top and an absolute must to visit if you have the least interest in history. My only reason to take it down to 4 stars is that I think I have seen better similar places with regards to information about the historical period depicted. A bit too commercial for my taste, but at the same time I have to say my wife loved it :)
We liked it more than Skansen in Stockholm (more houses and activities are openand it’s for free
It was OK. Good park.
Nice place with different small shops. I’ve cream shop was very nice and had good selection and tasty ice cream. There is also a park, playground and nice walking areas around.
Nice place with a cozy feeling.Had a stroll here for 1.5h. Walking around and looking at the old houses and various shops. Would recommend.
Very charming place, mixing history, cultural heritage and modern craft surrounded by a beautiful park
Very nice open museum with old rural buildings. If you are in orebro, dont miss it.
Great spot. Original old buildings with a variety of small business on site. Very pleasant to wander around
Cozy open-air museum combibing buildings from the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries.
Great historic place with very cute building and vintage stores. Worth the visit!
Very nice. Must see in Orebro.
Good history about the people in Örebro back in 1500
Its okej for quarter day ;)
Nice old history place, that learns you and your relatives about old Sweden. Very family friendly (since there is playgrounds here and there, shops and cafés). And it’s free (parking space is almost no deal at all, though i’d recommend walking!)
Lovely outdoor museum with the glimpse of old Sweden.
Beautiful old houses. Friendly guide.Better to experience in warm weather.
A glimps into the past of Sweden layed out in front of you in a few hundred square meters. Quite small, but in a well structured and almost all-including manner. It has a very cozy feel and has something interesting to offer for every season. Besides the historic cottages it includes tailor, shoemaker, smithy, a few boutiques, an open theatre and even kindergarten to name a few. Theres also a coffeehouse with some fresh pastries to enjoy with your coffee.
The most beautiful part of Örebro. Wadköping is a small historical town or landmark located close to Örebro center. If you visit Örebro, you must visit this small old area.
Beautifully preserved old buildings arranged like a small town center with many artists and people sharing their trades.- wood workers, blackmiths and silversmiths who sell their products. Many educational places for children and adults alike. The are plenty of outdoor spaces and two neighboring parks with gorgeous plants and greenery. Wadköping also offers two second hand stores, a restaurant/café and a candy and ice cream shop. One can definitely spend many hours shopping, exploring and learning
Passed the museum on our bikepacking trip. Amazing atmosphere with local shops, place to rest and tourist guides on site.
A little too much of a tourist trap but still fun to visit and a lot of information about old Örebro.
Its nice place to visit, you can view the greeny background and take a coffee time with thier taste good kanelbulle.
Just an excellently set and maintained attraction, wonderful history and historical buildings, food - and of course Ice Cream got two kids 12 & 9 giving thumbs up. A great place to spend time. Full marks!
One of unique parks i have ever seen with alot of well maintained differnent legacies
Historical buildings of Örebro and a cozy place to get souvenirs and spend the afternoon at a coffee.
It is fantastic experience to walk inside buildings which built around 1700 and see how they lived back then.
Its free (including the historical information / room displays), nice buildings, some good shops, nice spot on the river, nice walk through the park from the castle to get there.
Nice place close to centre of Örebro. Not so big, but full of people and lot of little shops. Beautifull atmosphere in this place. I was lucky I was there during the Christmas and it was lovely
Cute place but no more than 1h. Summer might be better with hang out at cafe or park. Follow the water path to get there. Really pretty and calm.
This review covers both Wadköping and Örebro och both places are well worth a visit. Park your car at Wadköping (5 kr per hour and start your journey by walking through the village. Yup they are all red in colour but they are also from different centuries. Its like going back in time and seeing actual houses built 300 plus years ago. Its a fascinating place. Once you have seen enough keep walking towards the beautiful botanical gardens and park. Beautifully set out with flowers, sculptures water fountains and a lovely river flowing on one side. Follow the river path and you will leave Wadköping behind you. Within minutes you come to Örebro with its amazing Castle, Skulptures and magnificent buildings. For me it was a big WOW. I could write about so many things too see in Örebro but I think you should just check it out yourself. You wont be disappointed.
Our hotel recommended we visit here. It is an easy walk from the centre and worth the trip. It is the old town area of Orëbro with good history.
Nice museum which shows the life in ancient times. Not only for children. Interesting place!
Just a wonderful open air museum of historical buildings dated to couple centuries back. All open free to public during opening hours, some of them have shops or the real workshops where craftsmen are producing various goods. Gem of the city and the country I’ll say.
Really interesting old Swedish town with lots of information about the history of the buildings
Lovely place to visit and sometimes there is live music. Shops are a bit expensive for little trinkets. Set next to the water its a great place to walk and picnic.
Cool place historical very cool and old Wadköping there is a place where you can sit and have coffee and get some souvenirs handmade
Typical tourist area with some shops. Visited on a Monday with many of the more traditional shops closed, unfortunately. Still worth a visit, though.
Great open air museum with lots to see and buy. Theres a nice cafe and admission is free to the site
A nice view of Swedish history. Doesnt take long to walk through, but you can always stroll along the river and check out the castle and from there some lunch in the city center.
Quiet little place to learn some Örebro history. Not super stimulating, but lots to learn. Beautiful grounds and kind people (just like everywhere in Sweden).
Cosy open air museum, not too big. But it’s set in an almost literally breathtakingly picturesque scene with ample greenery and a flowing stream close by.
I worked here during a Christmas fare in 2017. It was really a great place with lovely staff and excellent facilities.Really nice place with traditionally swedish designed wooden buildings, there is even an amphitheater and a park! A nice place to just explore on a regular day, with a small assortment of candy shops, bakeries and places to stop and fika, there are also clean public toilets.definitely be on the lookout for fares or similar events, then you can really find some interesting stuff!
Oldest part of Örebro, beautiful and intimate historical houses. Many historical professions are practiced, very friendly people who take their time to explain their profession. The place is also ideal for children just outside of the village so every age will find something to recreate.
A lovely part of Orebro. Has a few gift shops and a nice Bakery nearby for some Fika!
Nice place. Small souvenir shops.
Just a couple of buildings representing the old Swedish architecture. Is fun to peek inside, but most things are written in Swedish. But hey, its free and is really a remarkable part of the town.
