Great food good friendly service
Tempura dish pretty bad really, Wabi Sabi fish good. 50/50 best I can say
Suits our food style, no deadly night shade foods n rice noodles, great proce also
MoreJapanese sushi and bento tray etc etc all prepared by Filipino staff. Great effort and popular amongst tourists. We ordered the ultimate bento and salmon bento for lunch. The tempura batter is very thick and lack the light crispy texture. It was a bit soggy I had to leave them. The rice could be better seasoned. But the salmon and teriyaki chicken was tasty and worth trying. Overall, it’s okay.
MoreGood and yummy food, and Friendly owner
Always fresh and yummy kai. My fav sushi shop in Taupo 😊
Always have a yummy lunch here. Bimimabap is great
Absolute rubbish food! Not even edible! Tempura prawn and vegetable covered in thick stodgy batter with heaps of oil trapped inside. Teriyaki chicken dry and not teriyaki sauce! More like a cheap teriyaki marinade from the supermarket! This place is so appalling ! How are they still in business??!
MoreTaste good . Have ordered a donburi and the katsu thin like paper......
FANTASTIC Meal & Highly Recommended.
Very cheap and you walk out full. Awesome service. This is my regular lunch spot.
MoreThe best bento boxes...
It was nice, they were nice enough to let me sit in there for nearly two hours even though I didnt order till the last 40mins, I was a bit disappointed at the sloppy job on my soup as I had ordered chicken but the chef done beef then the chef got a bit angry and the soup he made looked thrown together the beef one looked nicer... But the bao bun and sushi were nice...
MoreSushi rice is not fresh
Amazing costumer service, delicious foods, friendly faces, and kind people.10/10 absolutely love this place. Thank you 😭❤️
MoreLove this little place. Pretty authentic. Good flavors, good price.
The sushui are amazing, good quality good service, and also the good bubble drinks.😘😘😘
MoreGreat price great food
Excellent
Beautiful food
Awesome food
Not bad
Very good and they also have meals as well which is awesome if you don’t feel like sushi.
MoreVisited this to grab sushi. Im not the type to complain but having sushi from here almost made me vomit. Deep fried meat tasted really oily, old and dry. And their smoked salmon tasted really weird. That really put me off sushi. The old man whos at this sushi place seems nice and friendly.
MoreThe best
Best Ramen in Taupo!
The Japanese chicken curry is delightful
Very good vegetable Bento. Even at their busiest time, there is not long to wait for.
MoreSushi was quite bad. Stringy seaweed, hard old rice and flavour of the ingredients was bland. The teriyaki chicken didnt taste at all like teriyaki and the tofu pocket was filled with mushy gluggy rice. To top it off the little fish soy sauce was filled with some cheap nasty soy sauce and I paid more than usual for it all too. Id avoid this place!
MoreGood food, good prices and friendly staff
So i visited thid place at 4:55pm which is why the selection was very low but they still had some that i liked. I got salmon on rice. deep fried prawn, and inari. Most were good but i think the prawn one had been there a few days; when i bit into it you could see the batter had shrivelled up and it was quite chewy, ive had them fresh before and the batter just melts apart. So that was the down side but the rest was pretty decent.
MoreIf you love a Bento box this is the place for you! Lovely food.
Not bad very friendly service food is fresh and very tasty food is authentic will definitely be back.
MoreExcellent sushi
Friendly staff, authentic food and good portion sizes.Really enjoyed the chicken curry so came back the next day for the beef curry. Both were amazing.
MoreNot real Japanese food. Ramen was stir fried! Staff was friendly enough.
Trop bon
Tried the Bao buns here and me and my partner loved them.
Cute intimately small Japanese restaurant. The fish for the sashimi was very fresh and very different in appearance from the salmon sashimi in America. The slices of salmon were about 3.5 inches long and 1.5-2 inches wide. The opened community wasabi bin was a bit sketchy considering the sheer amount of flies coming and going from the establishment. We also had chicken curry and a chicken ramen stir fry bowl all chosen cusines were amazingly delicious despite seeing the flies inside, outside of the establishment is where we chose to eat enjoying the nice views, beautiful weather, and people watching. Would recommend inexpensive maybe due to the summer there’s the increase of flies...?
MoreDisgusting, bland, no flavour & no dipping sauce for the rice paper rolls. Would NOT recommend
MoreThey serve the best Japanese food in town plus service is with high quality. Keep it up 👍
MoreOwners are definitely not Japanese hence the quality of Japanese food they serve. Rice looks like they are a few days old. Udon noodles tasted a bit off. Chicken Teriyaki on rice was served on a plate which is odd considering that it is normally eaten with chopsticks and not with a spoon and fork. Putting it in a bowl would be the norm.Definitely not coming back.
MoreFast service and good food
Fresh and clean place
The japanese ramen soup wasnt good, not typical Japanese restaurants would serve. Sushi looks okay but a bit of smell on the rice.
MoreThe seafood nigiri are great. I tend to find the rice to be tastier than at the other sushis restaurants in town. Fish is fresh and beautifully cut. Touch of garlic and wasabi enhance the flavour. Some other sushis restaurants may have a wider selection but if I want the best nigiri in town, this is the place to go. I am a regular and cant have enough of it.
MoreBest sashimi Ive ever tried. Will definitely coming back...
Good tourist shop
Everything is ACTUALLY FRESH
The most terrible sushi I ever had.Rice is sour, and salmon is not fresh.
