WAVE in Lorengau

Lovely place, good vibe and oh my, the decor! I felt like I was in Bali - a place I have always dreamt of visiting! The food was delicious, the scrambled tofu was a masterpiece. The only reason I decided to give the place 4/5 stars is the self-service thing- for a cafe of this size it shouldn’t be an issue to have the order brought to the table. Also, it says on IG that I could message to book a table but by the time I got a reply, I was already there. Luckily I got the seats.

I feel so lucky WAVE is in my neighbourhood. I love the food, coffee (salted coffee is my favouriteand the ambience is so calm and friendly!

I love this place; it feels like escaping London and being in Bali. Highly recommend Himalayan salt coffee!

Minimalist decor, minimalist service this time, and a limited menu. Banana Pancake was tasty and a good range of coffees, just not much on the menu that appeals.

Very nice café, located in an alley, super quiet area with a seating area outdoors as well as a very cozy indoors area. The personnel was adorable, I think however that the prices were not the best. As an area of improvement, I was super excited to go, but then having in mind that a pastry is £3.50 or a small mocha for £4 is quite expensive. If we agree that veganism is a solution to many issues we have in our society it has to be affordable to all and the prices in WAVE unfortunately are not. If you can afford these prices is a beautiful cafe.

TBF I just had the mint choco chip shake today: frozen banana, mint, cacao nibs, almond butter, agave and oat milk. It took far too long for my shake to be made but a staff member did apologise for that. It’s a nice, thick portion size for £7. The interior is all Scandi, light wood, with artful pillows. Dog-friendly. I wasn’t a keen fan of the other menu items but I do think objectively the all-day brunch sounds interesting. There are what seems like a zillion different bougie coffee options and lots of smoothie options in the fridge. I was hoping for more salad options myself as the poké bowl is not my thing. Good Wifi and lots of people working.

They spend a bit too much attention on how the food will look on the Gram and not the taste.It has a lovely decor and outdoor space

Fabulous bamboo furniture and beach vibes. Plus large outdoor seating area with swing chairs. You can almost forget you’re in Hackney.

Gluten free sausage rolls are delicious! Great service and chilled setting away from the hustle bustle of the main road. Love it!

I visited this cafe on a lovely sunny day after reading such good reviews online. I ordered a matcha latte and some vegan pancakes with Avocado! The matcha was up there with one of the most terrible I have had, and they served me raw pancakes! I literally cut a piece and batter came oozing out, I was so surprised .. I thought that they might have been stuffed pancakes lol but no just raw batter! Don’t get me wrong the guy behind the counter was apologetic and gave me some complimentary orange juice and a sausage roll.. but the roll was even worse! The orange juice was definitely the saving grace of this whole experience! So unfortunate as it’s a pleasant enough setting!

Love this hidden gem of a vibe! Small menu but everything you need on it, comfy settings with a Bali/Ibiza vibe to it in the sunshine. Staff were efficient yet relaxed to suit the surroundings. Met one of owners Sophie she was sound and down to earth. Good luck with the second opening. 🙏🏻💜

Delicious vegan brunch in this pretty cafe! We went there on Saturday, it was quite busy, but worth it to stay and try the vegan food! Good filling amount, perfectly nutritional and tasteful, and the salted caramel coffee is Top too! Just the prices are higher, so I would not go every week or two. Otherwise, highly recommended to try them out! :)

First time here. Loved it. Nice food. Avocado toast could have been a slightly bigger portion for the price. Nevertheless, really enjoyed it

Had brunch on a weekend was okay overall, service was a bit slow + there was items missing with the order had to ask at the counter what happened with the order🤦🏽‍♂️.!! Bit on the pricey for the service you get.

Such a brilliant little spot. Im not vegan but I die for their delicious not smoked salmon bagel every time! Good menu, interesting choices of different trendy coffees (as well as plenty of the usualsand really lovely atmosphere!

Went here on Sunday for brunch, me and my friend both had the sunny side and a coffee and I was extra naughty and had a blueberry muffin. Everything was delicious, couldn’t fault it. Will definitely be going back next time I’m that way.

Super nice on the expensive side but the food quality is above average and very tasty. Im a non vegan and am a regular customer because the food and atmosphere are great. Can get super busy and overcrowded by moms, babes and prams at lunch time but I guess its because this place is so comfy and welcoming. Love it.

Came here for the first time only recently as I have a usual spot I go to in this area, but I was glad to make the detour and visit a new vegan place. It’s down a little off-road which feels really safe, modern and welcoming. The interior feels warm and genuine and not just a place for Instagram! Food was great, exceptionally tasty and colourful, although it came out lukewarm which was disappointing.Will come back during the day sometime and try their puddings.

Even though WAVE has only been open for a short time it’s quickly becoming one of the most popular cafes in Hackney. Great relaxed vibe with comfy sofas, chairs, lounges and even hammock type chairs that swing from the ceiling. The food is amazing. My fave is the vegan mac & cheese! The owners and staff are lovely. All in all a perfect place to hang out!

Probably one of the best tofu scrambled I had in town! The staff is so lovely and I love the ambience of the place. Great brunch spot.

The entrance of the restaurant can be a bit hidden and google map brought me here eventually. The ambience of the restaurant is amazing. Ordered the milkshake and I think it tasted brilliant with the natural ingredients put in there. I ordered a Malaysian curry - aroma smell really nice and you do get a hearty healthy warm flavours into your body. Ordered another Bali bowl which is essentially courgette salad with lots of different mixture of healthy ingredients in it. It’s absolutely incredible place for this.

Lovely vegan cafe. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating with a very laidback vibe. The menu has mains and all day brunch along with cakes and coffees. We had the spaghetti carbonara 🍝 and the Bali bowl 🍲 along with a banana muffin 🍌and double chocolate chip cookie 🍪 We will definitely both visit again!

Such a chilled out and lovely vibe. Food was delicious but on the slightly pricier side - recommend the salted caramel shake and almond croissant. Staff were very friendly but service was very slow likely because it was a busy Sunday (we didnt mind as we were there to lounge for a few hours). The ceramics, furniture and fabrics looked very chic and we will be back for some soon!

Lovely little spot! Hidden away round the back of Hackney’s high street in a peaceful nook, tons of outdoor seating and relaxed bohemian vibe. Food was really fast and all super delicious - amazing to see an all vegan menu with loads of options for food and drinks. Already looking forward to going back!

Dog friendly holiday vibe environment. Great choice of food and drinks. Food itself was delicious and photogenic! We had the mushroom sausage roll, cheeze and pesto focaccia, peanut butter coffee, cauliflower wings and a bowl. Decent prices for how great it all was. Highly recommended.

This will for sure be my new favourite spot in Hackney! Lovely menu with a huge selection! I had the "salmon" bagle and a flat white and it was super good. I will come back and work my way through the menu!

All vegan everything! Chilled out spot. The garden is lovely when its warm. Great selection of coffee, the peanut butter coffee was a winner. Instagramable cafe, you will see people having brunch photo shoots!

Pleasant and quiet located venue that offers an innovative menu.Although on the expensive side it was the originality of the dishes that may be considered well worth a visit.

The food here was amazing! There was lots of variety to choose from. I would highly recommend the peanut coffee they do. I absolutely loved the decor as well. I will definitely be back again!

First time at Wave. Just off the high Street down a dead end ally. Friendly staff welcome. Calming environment with a contemporary design. That welcomes creatives, nomads and anybody in between. Also small herds of MacBooks. And yes the coffee was good.Returned for breakfast. Excellent!!!!

This vegan Café is an unexpected oasis admid Hackney Centrals chaos. Comfortable and nicely decorated. Staff is extremely nice and welcoming and the outside space is great on sunny days. They dont get five stars because I believe they need to balance the flavours of their dishes a bit better. We found the food either too salty (Scrambled tofuor too sweet (coronation toastie).

Hidden gem, with lovely terrace. Fully vegan, so no cow milk in your lattes. Pancakes look incredible.

Delicious food bursting with colour! Large range of different types of vegan food, from breakfast bowls, to smoothies, croissants, various items on sourdough. Excellent coffee. Lovely outside space and inside is just as peaceful and relaxing. Highly recommend visiting!

Great food, cool introduction to vegan food in a small alleyway tucked off the main shopping part of Mare Street, close to Palm Vaults. Has a great outdoor area which will be packed come summer, yet away from the hustle of Mare Street. Nice minimalist decor inside with plenty of macrame, wicker light shades and hanging seats. Food was fantastic, would have been 5/5 were it not for the long wait for food.

Chilled atmosphere, the most complete vegan menu (both food and drinksyou will find in any vegan cafe and delicious recipes. Very highly reccomended!
