Voodoo Rooms - Nightclub in Cork, Ireland
Best night spot in Cork
Music too loud
Popular nightclub with 2 floors and a third rooftop floor with a bar, DJ, and smoking area.
Absolute bellends on the door(updateYou say to majority reviews "you will look into this" clearly this does not happen. I was driving on the night therefore hadnt had a drop of drink and had over 6 forms of id (wasnt an issuebut too much tonight lad was the only reply. You should seriously have a look at your security by the looks of things online and in person. Would highly recommend Conways right across the road and suggest anyone to avoid tjis place atall costs until security is sorted out. Id only assume by the length of tine this has been going on that you have directed your security to only let certain number of men compared to women in and only people who are going to spend the money on drink. Unfair in all accounts and wrong and also not legal but easily deniable. Thanks.
Right a couple of weeks ago I went to voodoo and the bouncer laughed for no reason and asked me where was I coming from? Before I even got a chance to answer he said not tonight. A disgrace it is. That carry on needs to get sorted out ASAP its embarrassing.
To be honest the people at the door are a joke to be told not tonight youve had to much and not even after a drink is literally embarrassing shame on them will never approach there door again and would advise others to avoid it
Great place and based on reviews security seem to be improved they were very nice on enter. went out with collegues on Thursday night after company party A++.
Love Voodoo so much! I’ve been to a couple of nightclubs now but Voodoo is still King🔥
Nice place and nice staff.
Have tried to get into voodoo a few times during this year alone. Bouncers on the door are the most rudest people youll ever meet, take one look at you and wont leave you step inside. I Was with my girlfriend aswell hardly doing to start trouble. Dont judge a book by its cover.
Went to Pop Scene 15 July 22. Courteous door staff. Fast bar staff. Great tunes belted out. Reasonably priced drinks. Had a lot of fun there.
Best music on the third floor :)
This is the worst experience that I had in Cork. A poor place with poor security. They don’t care about people, they just want to show the power that they don’t have. I think the owner should start charging security and staff more respect for customers. This should be something essential for a place.
Worst place in Cork. Security staff treat people very badly. Basically they choose someone randommly to kick out, they invent a story and kick you out without even hear your side of the story, such a shame!! They have ruined many nights.
Horrible security staff aren’t welcoming to people from different backgrounds place, should be shut down, they just have a little tiny bit of power and think they can treat people however they like. Should be taken over by conways who could teach them how to respect people looking for a fun night in cork
Worst staff
We had horrible experience here, the security is insane - they warned me about wearing shoes one day and I was about to wear and the security created a big scene by calling his other mates and make it a big deal.. and later we went down and spoke to the mail security guy and he sent us back into the pub.And we all dropped our jackets in the locker room and my friend never got her jacket back from the locker room. This is not fair. The lady in the locker room told she never received it.All in all I would suggest you to go to this night club only if you want to loose things and want to get kicked out for no reason.
Unnecessarily rough bouncer . Needs to be removed.
Worst bouncers in Cork and everyone knows this to be true. Hand my ID and get told “too many” while failing to even make eye contact with me. Was sober as a judge at that point and was looking forward to being in a normal Voodoo for first time in almost over 2 years. I cross the street to Conways instead who are always very welcoming. Never trying to get into Voodoo the dump again :)
I has not happy about a young security guard on the 1st floor. I was sitting on a chair besides the coat room waiting for my girlfriend and her friend while they got the jackets, as I sat and waited I was approached and told that I had to go upstairs by a worker or security guard, I told this person that I would leave with my group and that they will leave in a matter of SECONDS and he grabbed me by my jacket and dragged me down to the bottom of the stairs where I was approached by more security guards that had a big smirk on their faces as a i got thrown out. How is this acceptable?
Wouldnt recommend it to my enemy. Have been in Cork for years and its a roulette to get into a mediocre nightclub. Security have a complex so theyll make sure you have a bad time. Go somewhere else. Plenty of amazing bars in Cork without the hassle
Chris, the security guard, went out of his way to make sure I was safe until I found my friends
The security at the door are ignorant. I tried getting in last weekend & they refused me entry & told me I had too much to drink when I had nothing to drink that night. It’s not fair since I’ve never been in there before.
Security and management are a joke. Myself and my friend were in last night and were being harassed by a middle aged man. We asked him to go away several times but he wouldn’t leave us alone. Then he grabbed my friends face so she pushed him off of her and security threw my friend out “as they don’t tolerate violence”. We both tried to explain to security that the man was harassing us for a while and my friend was visibly upset but he couldn’t have cared less. A male manager also came over and we explained the situation to him and he laughed. In fairness the one female security that was there apologised to us and told us it wasn’t her decision. It’s funny how they don’t tolerate violence but they’re happy to let middle aged men harass young girls.
I would give 0 stars if I could.Security was absolute trash.Went in, left my coat on a chair (where a lot of coats were, including my friendsand went to the toilet. I came back and all the coats had disappeared from that chair (this happened literally 3 minutes after I arrived).Turns out a security guard took them and threw all of them on the stairs and then a staff member brought them all in the cloak room. Well, turns out my coat (and more peoplescould not be found, it was lost. Had to go back the day after to find it and even then my keys werent in the inner pocket anymore.I had to pay 10 euro entrance and the cloak room price is 3 euro, and if you dont pay your coat will literally be thrown out on the stairs where everyone can walk on.The security guy clearly had some anger issues and the staff in the cloak room treated us as if we were dumb. Worst "club" experience in Cork.
Man at door, ignorant and rude, turning away customers when there is spaces, then letting girls in, he obviously has some self of steem issues with girls but he can’t take this out on the place he works
Some unfriendly and aggressive security guards.. just bottom of the barrel service. Treating clients like s
Popscene in the voodoo rooms is a fantastic late bar. Over 23s with all the pop hits from the 80s and 90s. The design is funky and amazing. Great atmosphere always in there. Everyone always dancing and signing along to the cheesy pop hits. Gives the feel of a club without the crowds etc. Loads of seating and if you contact them on facebook they will arrange reserved seating for small groups. Drinks are reasonable for city prices and its free entry before 10. A great night and craic is guaranteed. Impossible to be in there and not sing along to any song!
Spent much of my college life in voodoo mostly memorable nights unless you go all in with their wall street. Good music, friendly staff and affordable drinks
I just read the experience of others to learn, I will better bin their free promotion vouchers than to attend to anything here...
Fraser the security at the door is horrible man never lets black guys in...tryed geting in couple times give up now few different lads share the same note!!!!!
Horrible place. Bad DJs! The security does not leave you alone! You get interrupted by them for dancing too fast. They push you away for cleaning the floor every 2 minutes. Never ever!!!
To be honest wouldn’t even give 1 star. Absolute joke of a place, Please do not go here if you are planning a birthday, hen night party, stag do etc. It was my mother’s Hen night last Saturday and we were only after having a few drinks in the brog around the corner beforehand (which is a brilliant bar btwWe were after booking a reserved area and all inside voodoo, Spent two weeks in the planning to make sure everyone who was on the list was getting in ( And they were well aware that one of us was 19, which happens to be me her daughterAnd she made this very clear that I’d i was getting in that there would be no point in booking as she really wanted me there. They told her that was fine everything was grand and That they made a list. So we all went up to the door in the hen group and the bouncers left my mother, her friends, and 2 of my friends who are only 21 in without checking Id and as soon as I walked in Stopped me to check Id straight away see that I’m 19 and said no way I was too young that it’s 23’s as too with my friend who was actually 21 so shouldve definitely been able to go in. I then told them I was on the hen night list I was the daughter of the hen and he still didn’t care. So my mother found out and she came down and told them very nicely that I was her daughter and that they need to check the list and they kicked her out after awhile because she was too (angryeven tho she was in the right. So we all ended up going good home and our other friends that got in said that the reserved area was amazing there was bottles of champagne and little hen night goody bags for everyone , And the hen wasn’t even there to see it as the bouncers kicked her out for absolutely no reason just because she was sticking up for me her daughter. Absolute joke. Also they made the ones that got in pay which they weren’t ment to for the night as my mam had already sorted that out too. The security absolutely ruined the night for us ,We were all completely devastated. My mother was balling her eyes out , I was fuming. Should not have ended up like that on her hen night. In conclusion the bouncers that we’re on that night were absolutely terrible to deal with that night. An absolute disgrace.
Big shout out to Fraser Sim ( security staffwho found my wallet outside the door of voodoo Rooms...reached out to me via social media and had my wallet returned to me a few days later and would not accept a tip! LEGEND! Thank you so much Fraser!
Wont get in cos had drink in next door pub :D nice face control system, not first time, even wont get in if driving other night a year or few ago :/
This past weekend was my first time there. Went with my husband and friends and we had a fantastic time! I would say my best night out in Cork. Would highly recommend for a night out if you love going dancing!
Ignorant, rude, racist and abusive security. Probably insecure about his receding hairline.
Absolute JOKE!! after booking an area for a group of us for my friends birthday and ordering bottles of prosecco from the club, we got blown out and couldnt get in, for no reason what so ever just because the ignorant bouncer didnt feel.like leaving us in, whoever runs voodoo or owns it and you can see this I highly suggest you get new security because the ones you have are bad for business we would have (and Did elsewherespent a substantial amount of money and ye missed out big Time, WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
Was there last night....The tunes are unrealBest night out so far
I have been this place good few times, but have been refused twice recently because I had one drink before going in. It is not a place for me but my friends were already, disguised for the way turn down none Irish residents.
Bouncers very unrespectful I went there on 9th of august with my family nd friends we came as first in the line and main security started asking questions bout us drinking tonight and etcI told security that i havent had any drink whatsoever which I really didnt I hardly go out maybe once in 5-6 months all I wanted to show my family the club coz they heard on the radio bout that club nd just wanted to see what is the place he accused me being drunk I felt very offensive I have heard these stories before that if security doesnt like u they just dont let u in and they will find any excuse to stop u they are being resist to ppl and ignorant I personally seen my self that 2 girls went there nd they were quite drunk coz they were swinging to the sides and security guy just let them in with no hassle they just rasist to new pplI got very disappointed of that kind of behaviour and judgment very disrespectfulDef say no to the place nd will confirm that is true what ppl talk bout woodo club nothing good bout the security behaviour towards ppl
I am French guy. I bring my French Moroccan friends and I went there today 28 July 2017 at 23:45 and I have been refused by two Irish racist security guy, I was well dressed, shown my ID and I work full time with Apple in Cork. and when I asked the reason why you refuse me to get in they just answered that it doesnt look you will have too much drink. I explained to him that I will buy drink. I felt humiliated and discriminated because of my Moroccan heritage. they just sort out this drink excuse . I do not recommend.. AVOID!!
Nice club, but a bit too crowded
One of the best and biggest night clubs in Cork
Thank you lads.. It always nice atmosphere here.
Havent been to a club in years and this place was everything that I remember. Two floors - one for a slightly older crowd and one for a younger group. Wasnt blown away by either. Really what you expect in a club though.
Good weekend escape, good music and not to mention a whole floor for smokers. However Im not really fond to their live music events.
Lovely staff, music very random depending the night but generally okEnough space for group
Very busy place, dont go there often but I think its worth a go if you come to cork.
Terrible place. Bouncers are abusive and aggressive (specially that bold cocky one).Avoid would be my recommendation.
