Ulitsa Imeni Marshala V.i. Chuykova, 47, Volgograd, Volgograd Oblast, Russia, 400053, Volzhskiy
Long-standing museum complex with informational exhibits about military history & culture.
Is a nice museum. Much to see about the Second World War.
This museum is set just by the ruined mill and the entrance is beneath it, from the Volga river promenade. The museum layout is fantastic - spread over some 10 rooms clockwise depicting the WWII chronologically with an accent on the famous Stalingrad battle.Apart many weapons, uniforms and personal items displayed, most interesting I found somewhere around the middle (room 5 or 6a huge digitalized map with amazing computer animation about the battle. At the top floor is a huge 360 diorama about the battle. Entry fee is symbolic - few Euros.
Very interest museum in the citys heart. A lot of information about the war and many old things as remembers of last years.
Amazing place and it shows the whole history of Stalingrad war.
Missing information in English, otherwise great
Do not go during Victory Week or expect very long queues. Get the audio if you are English, otherwise exhibits are all in Russian. Worth a visit.
Quite impressive and a must see in Volgograd.
We highly recommend this museums for its panorama.
Must visit. Many guns and ammo used during WW
beautiful tribute to this historic landmark
a awsome Museum based on world war 2. Nice panorama of war base.
Interesting museum about the horrible slaughter at Stalingrad during WO II
very good
Museum Panorama is an historical place in Volgograd where the last standing building after the stalingrad war is situated and the environment is nice too
Ok.. some interesting items on display
Jolly good Soviet architecture!
When you come to visit Volgograd, its the first place, where you have to go!!!
Worth a visit. Has limited English prompts. If you are after historical details about the battle of Stalingrad, Музей "Память" in the basement of the old department store is where you should go instead.
Wonderful and perfect like a dream...
Historical collected place, suite for historys lover.
It was a great place you can feel the war in that museum and how the soldiers died defending their country it was just an epic experience I recommend everyone to see it
Dear Russians, we dont want one more WW2. Think and ACT.
Heart-and-soul-wrenching depiction of arguably the most outcome-defining battle of WWII (the Great Motherland War).An absolute must on any trip to Volgagrad. You owe it to yourself to witness this hauntingly beautiful museum, it will magnify the impact of Mamaev Kurgan.
The greatest battle in human history. 2 million death and injured...You can pay additional 100RUB for photos free.
This museum is outstanding, the best museum I ever saw in my life. Highly professional regarding the layout, and recommendeble to everybody. A spectacular presentation, and a lesson to the everybody, especially those who are talking and dreaming of war in this days we are currently living in.
The best of its kind in the world. I was mesmerized the whole time I was inside. Returning from Russia, I already watched the movie " Enemy at the Gate" which relates to the battle of Volgograd. I will love to take my family to the Panorama.
This museum is amazing and a must go. Beautiful architecture and great exhibition.
Absolutny the one of the Best muzeum i even been
Definitely worth a visit when you are in town. Would take about 90-120 minutes for a proper visit. Many artifacts of war, as well as a nice animated description of the events happened. The panorama part is also pretty cool, especially if you have never seen a panorama museum before. The outdoor part right outside/behind is also a living museum, the ruined building and the famous fountain, as well as the train on the side.
If you want to see Vassily zaitsevs rifle ( hero in the movie enemy at the gatesthis is where you got to be. Very interesting museum depicting and showcasing Soviet army resistance to Nazi journey.
A great museum. Well worth a visit
The Battle of Stalingrad Museum is one of the best in Volgograd and will require at least two hours, and preferably a good command of Russian to fully appreciare. Although there is an audio guide in various languages - which will give you a sense of the displays - the museum is so rich that youd miss tons otherwise. Inexpensive to enter. Leave understanding the sacrifice and horrors of war.
History of the biggest battle of world war 2!
A must see when visiting Volgograd. Words cant describe it, yiu have to see for yourself to try and understand the reality of what went on at the Battle of Stalingrad. Whatever else you do when in Volgograd, you must visit this place
Need more enrichment... probably background music would help
Great experience, a lot of historical exponats
Excellent 3D Panorama of a museum narrating the history and stories of WWII
Marvellous place to visit. It brings the real situation during the days of war to keep Nazy away from Stalingrad ( also called as Volgograd). The museum is bringing the live situation of the war by an extraordinary 3D construction. The guides narrates with raj cheers and affection. Nice place to visit. Congratulations for 75 th anniversary.
A must experience. Every time an eye opener
Another memory (beside the ruins of Gerhardt flour mill nearbyto the disaster called World War II (or Great Patriotic War in Russian). Dedicated to the brave men who servet tho ther country and died for it.
Lovely projection video of the fighting and so many artifacts. Mostly in Russian so take your Google translate.
Impressive museum with some modern installations. Not very large compared to other Soviet-era WW2 museums. Great experience nonetheless.
Must see place! Amazing!
This museum is the best resource to gather knowledge about the vulnerable victory of Russia over Stalingrade war...the deadliest battle ever been fought..love the museum...love the country.
Relics with an amazing story to go with them. Well put together and well upkept.
Not in English but it has great atmosphere
The museum is interesting and the exhibitains are well preserved, but there is no word of explanation in English. If you dont read russian, you better take the audio guide (English, German or Russian, 100 Rub and a deposit). The full tour took me around 3 hours.
Amazing stuff you can see there in. Specially amazing the paintings (panoramas), really well done. +++ recommended
Never forget the world war 2.
