Tsavo East National park, Kenya, Voi
Voi Safari Lodge - in Voi, Kenya
Voi Safari Lodge, after all these years still has its charms. Good service from the staff. Good food variety. Do let them know food requests in advance to manage in time. Overall a bang for buck lodge.
What a view from the restaurant... elephant view point could be better posted... we missed out.
its a beautiful place to lunch and in the while see the savanna with animals. here is possible to see very closely elephants while they drink some water. the rooms are very small but essential for sleeping. the restaurant, there are many dishes for choice. i think that it is the best choice in Tsavo Est.
Good venue to spend your safari venture. Elephant view at your disposal.
Nice cool place to relax. Staff are nice too
Really something that blows as incredible experience of wild nature. Clean and comfortable rooms, great food and service was outstanding. Kids loved it and pool was a charry on the top. Beautiful view of savannah with animals approaching for water that is bellow this lodge.
Excellent location built into the hillside giving extensive views over the plains. The lodge is decorated in traditional Kenyan decor and is kept well. However, the rooms are exceptionally dated and small. The showers are very very poor, the interiors definitely require a renovation.Food was below average with very limited choice.
Such a nice place for a vacation, beautiful sceneries and fresh air away from chaos. Loved their swimming pool as well. The view from the room is magical.Would recommend anytime
Located on the slopes of a hill, overlooking a watering hole, Voi Safari Lodge provides a great view of the Tsavo plain where elephants come in scores and many other animals too. The restaurant and bar are nice places to take in these views and sit and eat or drink comfortably. The rooms are Spartan but comfortable. One wishes the service were better organised. The food quality is average. The lodge is a good starting point to explore Tsavo East and is good value if expectations are not high.
Awesome view. Friendly staff. Quality meals
Great place to relax. Very helpful staff
A view you can Not find easy. One in the Pool and down the animals in the water hole . Rooms are Nice, but the way the lodge was build it is easy to hear Neighbors..
This is a really beautiful hotel with a great view and an amazing experience just within the lodge
Really nice, clean and comfy. This is not a luxury resort, but a lodge in a middle of national park, so dont expect too much:no AC, no free drinks, even water. Wifi is good. Fantastic view, animals come very close and you can observe them.
Fantastic, food, service, rooms, views of mountain staff very friendly music cool we really enjoyed
This is one of the original lodges in Kenyas vast National Parks. It is located in the Tsavo East and has the most panoramic views from top of a hill.Overlooking the never ending Tsavo East Savannah plains.A full view of the Yatta Plateau in the horizon - the worlds largest lava flows? With a live parade of ๐ everywhere and ๐. Plus a lot more.Take a walk in the viewing tunnel to get right under the ๐!Or swim in a cool pool as you view wildlife.Awesome...Magical.
Bad place with a great view. Dirty rooms, bad food, and unfriendly staff, very noisy. Fortunately, we were there just for 1 night. I was more than happy when we left.
Good place for a holiday. Great chef. Great view from the pool and rooms. Could do better with indoor activities to keep guests entertained. Amazing tour of the park. Can get really hot at night. Wish they could make drinks less pricey?!
This a very nice safari lodge with great views and mid range accommodation. You are able to spot animals at the comfort of you room window, at the pool, at the dinning room and also as you trek around the lodges compound. Their food is good but they need to improve on the customer service especially reservations desk. Their wifi also is very weak.
Food tasty, nice view, but no sound isolation in the rooms, and too many insects, especially mosquitoes that not beated by repellents
We received a very warm welcome right from the main Tsavo east gate all the way to the hotel.we encountered very professional staffs . We had very delicious meal ,the fish fillet was top notch. What excited me most is they prepared separate meal for my 1year old and the meal was beyond our expectation. The pool was so clean and we had a very good time. We enjoyed a great view of elephants as they came to quench thirst. need to improve on pool changing rooms.otherwise if you want enjoy a calm weekend this is the best place to be. The hotel has bar and restaurant and they play good music. A must come back. Kudos!
We were welcomed so well by Professional staff always keen to assist. The views...... Breath taking and having meals as we watch animals at the watering hole was another highlight to our day
Really wonderful views the staff were very helpful and nice. The elephant viewing area really gets you up close and person with the animals.
Humbling scenery. Breathtaking animals. Accommodation was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Voi safari lodge is a unique place with its amazing location that u can oversee the tsavo east national, the rooms are also located in a position that u can view the Savannah while you are in,for the food it was very delicious, but all in all vist tsavo its magical, thanks
This place was ideal for safari and to rest afterwards. The servers were awesome and attentive and the food was quite britishy but I think was for everyones taste buds to be accommodated!Bedrooms were cosy and had everything you neededWould 100% recommend to friends families and strangers!
Had lunch here after during our safari. It was nice. Great view! The famous buffet I was told about isnt open because of COVID.
Simple hotel without airconditionig but with fans only. Theres a pond where the wild animals come in the evening. You can take photos of all the animals come. Elephants, hienas and others.
The best lodge to visit whether alone, with friends or with family. The staff are professional with quality service, Rooms are very clean with the view of the park.Food is delicious for both locals and internationals. A bar and a pool also overlooking the park.just perfect.
I would not be able to give this old lodge a 5star if it werent for the absolutely breathtaking location. Words alone cannot describe how amazing views from rooms and restaurant. Its pure magic. Never seen anything like it. Theres an amazing underground tunnel to see the elephants face to face
There was not hot water, after 3 hours waiting we had to take a very cold shower, we got offered a hot water backet instead... Plugs in the room not working, they said they will fix it, but when we left, they still didnt work. Food was cold and there were no more than 2 options. Fruit and salad where in plastics making them sweaty and squashed, not what you expect for that price. After 1 hour complaining to 4 different people we got to talk with the manager, who was very aggresive, finally after a lot of arguing he accepted to cook somthing else for us. In general just horrible, we spend around 4 hours between complains, waiting for the manager to appear, waiting for him to talk with his team, waiting for the tean to check the boiler. A lot of lies and no solutions. Trust me, dont go here, the manager is a thief. By the way the fridge was dirty and the ice cubes were brown... (check photo)More
Great views and scenery from a hill top, and rooms with full length windows that offer a view out into the plain below. The bottom of the slope hosts a water hole frequented by elephants and other animals. The Lodge is also very close to the Voi Gate and also close to other game viewing spots.Staff are exceptionally wonderful and helpful.Only issue is the food, which could do way better given the standards, and perhaps a little upgrading for the hotel to modernise a few aspects such as exterior lighting.
Views in the hotel are beautiful but it isnt a place for people affraid of insects because there are plenty of them. The food is average but if you are there only for the night during your safari trip, its okay.
Pluses: clean toilets and rooms. Scenic view.Minuses: terrible service at restaurant giving you dirty cutlery and forcing you to pay cash for drinks to push you for tipping. Lots of bugs everywhere.
Amazing place with amazing views in the heart of nature. Rooms are clean and cozy. During the rain season you will struggle with a lot of insects but thats a given due to the fact that the place is in park and all insects are harmless and dont bite so you got nothing to worry about. Food was amazing as well and stuff were helpful and friendly
Very nice place , Top Top, eat well , sleep well, hakuna matata
We have been there just for one night, fortunately. Rooms are old, no warm water. Food was below average. Staff was nice. We have been told that payment by credit card is not working. It was not working also in the evening before. So I suppose its done on purpose to force you to exchange euros. Two stars are for the views not for the lodge.
Lovely place... Very pleasant hotel with swimming pool and waterwholes, friendly staff and tasty food. In rooms there arent any air conditioner but for me it was nice surprise because I could sleep like in real Africa listening african voices cicads, animals, birds. And there is wonderful view from restaurant to savannah. I recommend!
Lovely place for vacation but the facility not fantastic.it can seen as epic place. It is located inside Kenyans biggest park.Tsavo National park is 22,000sq.km with 150 live lions. You dont want to miss the brave hunting of the Lions during the buffaloes migration.
This place has some of the most amazing views I ever saw. You can literally see for tens of miles far, Savannah plains and plains as far as the eye can see. There is a pit where water is supplied for the animals to drink. You can come very close and since theres no bars or glass in front of the tunnel windows, take good photos as well. Most rooms have a wonderful view, but the view from the restaurant terrace is really magnificent.
Terrible services!Chef cant compromise to prepare what you want to eat. You must eat what he cooks. The place is over priced!Dirty roomsPool area was dirty as well, and the staff are just lazy.I wouldnt recommend anyone to visit there unless of course youre a government person.I have experienced racism and bad services at their Mombasa Beach Hotel and I thought this would be different.I guessed wrong! To think I was the only one complaining, some guests who were close by our table for dinner were complaining too.Can the waiters also know different brands of what drink, meal is available? They kept saying let me go check of that is available.Restock your bar!.The following day we all left and went to stay at lion hill,a place with better services and the consider everyones diet!
Great location. But thats about it. The rest is mediocre. Terrible food. Cramped, outdated rooms. Run down facilties, broken furniture. Clueless management.Used to be government owned, looted dry by management and then sold off cheaply.
This lodge is situated inside the Tsavo National Park and located in an elevated position giving you a great view to the horizon, also from the room. Watch out for baboons though! Clean, comfortable and gifted with a nice atmosphere. Personally, I would always prefer a first floor room.Recommended!
Oh man the bugs! Giant. But if you dont have problems with the bugs then its fine. Astonishing view, very good food and small rooms. Did I mention giant bugs? ๐ Overall very good all things considered, travel time, location, wilderness... Would visit again, no problem.
One of Kenyaโs largest game parks with spectacular view of the volcanic formations, such as the Kasigau, Sagalla and Mwakingali Hills. The lodge blends with the surrounding environment, it boasts a natural waterhole which attracts big game, including elephant, lion, cheetah, buffalo as well as a rich variety of birdlife. We stayed for a day before we headed out site seeing. Breakfast A+
This was an amazing experience, food, beds, pool, grounds... loved it all apart from one morning where they had a seminar and had not prepared enough food
Voi Safari Lodge is a beautiful lodge in Taita Taveta County. Its a serene place with plenty of rooms and a restaurant facing a watering hole. We saw lots of wildlife there including gazelles and elephants. The food was good and they served a variety of dishes. Staff are friendly. The lodge has several pools too! Its a relaxing place to spend the weekend at.
It is affordable. The service is high class and customer friendly. A great and close view of wild animals.
Very nice place, just the look outside from a room is beautiful
Amazing place! The food was okay. There is barely any cell reception, but there is some Wi-Fi in the hotel. Great view of the elephants and wildlife by the waterhole. Also, the tunnel to the waterhole is a must see.
