Went there for a birthday meal. Served immediately. Food arrived all at once and it was amazing. Very reasonably priced. Definitely go again.

Went on a Tuesday night on a last-minute booking and had a variety of dishes, including the lamb stew, squid special, paella and fish cakes and all was fantastic. Food full of intense flavour and well cooked. Portions are a good size too and service was great.

Food and service is amazing. Drinks cost more than food which is odd. The place could do with a coat of paint and some windows. The private room upstairs which seats 15 they tried using a wooden spoon to prop one open but it didnt work. Lol just get it fixed? The ladies toilets had a sheet of cracked paint peeling off the wall. About 3 metres of it just hanging. I dread to think what the kitchen looks like and how many people are dropping sweat in your food

Nice food nice vibe about the place.l would have marked it 5 star but for the price of the alcoholic drinks and the seating.

Simply delicious food in a great setting. Try the sausages and also the battatas bravas.

The bouncers was extremely rude made me feel threatened, I was nothing but polite n nice to have terrible attitude n behaviour I paid to coke in yet got threatened n treated terrible by the door staff it’s a zero from me actually embarrassing ur establishment is run by these people not only did I do nothing wrong I was threatened by a man

Excellent atmosphere, choice in dishes and flavours. Spicy, sweet, cheesey, veggies, meat, filling. Definitely a place I recommend to friends frequently. Can be busy here, so book a table in advance.

Excellent food. Wide range of dishes that were all delicious and come in generous portions. My favourites being the bean stew and meatballs. Friendly staff. Fun setting/decoration. Also had a few nice cocktails if thats your thing. I highly recommend Viva Cuba!

Unfortunately our experience at Viva Cuba was not good. I was very much looking to dine here and finally I went.The food was not very good at all! The paella was awful! The seafood in the paella was over cooked and like rubber! I could have eaten rubber bands and they would have been less rubbery!The patata bravas was again not nice either! The potatoes were very oily and over done they were very dark brown!The chicken dish was ok the chicken was dry but the gravy was nice.The cocktails were again poor, I had a pinacolada and the mojito but they were poor!The toilets at this place were very bad! I don’t think any of the staff actually check them!I had to ask someone to give them a clean and no one did!I would not be going back here unfortunately

Really nice interior/atmosphere and the wait staff and host were attentive and accommodating despite the place being rammed. Food wasnt particularly noteworthy though. We had five dishes between two of us, one of which was a pretty good meat dish (some sort of lamb stewand the other four of which were fairly uninspiring/bland. Chorizo tasted charred, paella didnt taste of much etc.

Best restaurant in Leeds. Good value for money and what is the recipe for the Jerk chicken sauce? Delicious!

decent burgers let down by under cooked warm chips, then warm old beer being served to myself, had to get our own cutlery, forgot about the sides and sauces and after over an hour wait for when the restaurant wasnt that busy, the chips. came back out after we finished but then it was to late. we just wasnt good enough, and we but as I sod, I the burgers were nice

Just back from Viva Cuba with the wifeWhat a gem of a restaurant. The venue was great, all of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and the food.... Wow!!!!We had what was in the photo attached as well as our mains, but we were so keen to jump in to the mains, photos were forgotten about. Our mains included the lamb Kebab, Bean Stew, Cuban rice and alioli potatoes.All that plus a cocktail was £40, what an absolute bargain!Do yourself a favour, and get a table booked here.

Amazing food and portions. I was really blown away of how good this place was.

Not what it used to be. 3+ years ago the place was fantastic and easily a 5 star. Im not sure whats happened as all the dishes felt very basic this time round. Not terrible, but no longer great in my view.

It is always great to visit Viva Cuba as the atmosphere over there is just amazing. You are definitely looked after from the moment you enter that place where is always busy and it is quite tricky to get a table. I decided to treat myself and my 2 special guests. There were hardly any available slots online, so I gave them a call and we had our table booked without any issues.The service was just incredible, nothing too much for the staff.A special thank you to a Polish waitress Julia and an Italian one - Chiara. The girls were extremely helpful, kind, attentive and had awesome sense of humour.At the end of our visit I have received a surprise from the manager - a tiramisu dessert along with a Happy Birthday song which I found so sweet.It was a very emotional visit as I didnt expect that at all. I would recommend Viva Cuba for everybody. It wasnt my first visit and wont be the last one for sure!

A first visit for my birthday. The food was varied , plentiful and delicious. The staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. My complimentary dessert and singing of "Happy Birthday " was unexpected and kind. Thank you.

Top evening at Viva De Cuba last night. The staff were really attentive and friendly. The food was fabulous, we probably ordered a few dishes too much, but we all had a brilliant night.

Me and my partner came here as I’ve been a couple times a few years ago. It’s safe to say the food and service hasn’t changed. Staff very attentive and there when you need something, the food is honestly some of best food I’ve ever eaten (bold flavours and very good portion sizesand the value for money is spot on. Amazing!!! Ordered the set menu for 4 people plus some prawns and we had soooo much food, Ive brought some home with me.Everything was delicious. The service was great, the young lady was very attentive, and we didnt have to wait long for the starter and the main followed in good time.It was my husbands birthday and they treated him to a little pud with a candle and a happy birthday song.Great value, lovely atmosphere.Have been here before and will definitely return, but have now been advised to book a table, which is new but not too much bother if it means we get a table.Thanks for a great birthday meal.

Visited Viva Cuba for a work dinner and it was amazing. Adam, the restaurant manager was really accommodating and helpful to last minute request. He was a quick thinker and helped me to ensure the dinner experience was fantastic. My colleagues gave really good feedback about the sangrias. Food were amazing and portion was just nice. Thank you Sara, Georgeaka and Loreuta for the service delivered. It was a really positive experience for all 15 of us.

Too easy this one. Everything we ordered came out and looked fantastic. The pork ribs the stand out but even the croquettes were better than we expected. Had 5 dishes overall and Id order them again. Sangria was spot on too.

Just love the food here, its top class I had the spicy lamb it was excellent, rice and beans and chicken. Great portion size I had loads to take home in a container. Excellent food, value for money and atmosphere. Love it and highly recommend.

Had a wonderful tapas meal. We had last visited about 10 years ago so great to see its still trading. Chose 5 dishes for 2 people but portions so generous we probably had 1 too many. Nice laid back atmosphere inside..

I have driven past this place for years and for some unknown reason never paid attention.....what a mistake that was. Incredible atmosphere, incredible food and awesome service. I will definitely be coming back for more. My wife had cocktails and they were really good, I tried a nice selection of beers which went really well with the tapas.....omg...the tapas! My favourites were the Gambas Rebaznos, Costillas (some of the best ribs I have ever had to the point I nearly gave them a round of applauseand the chorizo croquettes special. The enchiladas were also absolutely amazing. Only one question remains....why didnt I get that portion of Churros to take home? Amateur mistake on my part. This restaurant has jumped straight into my top 5 in Leeds.

We ate here over the weekend and as always it did not disappoint. The interior of the restaurant seems to promote what eating in Cuba would be like; cosy and intimate. It is perhaps more suitable for couples or groups of adults however there were a couple of families with older children in too.The service was extremely good. From the time we arrived to when we left, everyone was very attentive. I even managed to speak to the waiter in Spanish when ordering which was a nice touch. The food arrived very quickly and all at the same time too.The menu choice is large though not too overwhelming which is great. It is worth noting that the portion size for their tapas is a little larger than others so when ordering, you may find you order more than you need. The quality of the food was extremely good and it was packed with plenty of flavours.Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant. It is somewhere we love to visit when we are back in Leeds!

Great food! Great portions at a really reasonable price. Enough food for 5 adults and a child with sangria and a couple of beers and 3 desserts came up less than £20s a head! Highly recommend 👌🏽

I don’t know where to start, this GEM 💎 of a restaurant lies in the heart of Leeds - Kirkstall. From the Lime Salsa Fishcakes to the Seafood Paella 🥘 oh my goodness, every dish in this place is to live for (notice I said LIVE not die for). The food is fantastic, cocktails🍹are exquisite and unmatched, the atmosphere/ambiance is excellent and service is top notch. Love the chefs too, I literally feel like I’m in a restaurant on the coast of Cuba 🇨🇺 while in there the vibes are always 10 out of 10, haven’t been for a while due to the worldwide pandemic 😷 but I miss this little food haven so much and looking forward to returning for date nights with my husband.

One of the best restaurants Ive been too. The tapas dishes are perfect to share. Only downside is that its hard to pick only a few and then you end up like us with 6 or 7 dishes between 2 of us haha! The chicken rice dish is lovely. The ribs fall off the bone, and the meat practically melts in your mouth. Chorizo is a must!! We order it every time and its always great. Weve experienced the same great service every time we go. We usually have one of the specials when we go and theyre great too. A favourite of ours was the chorizo croquettes. We expected it to be mostly potato with a bit of chorizo but no! It looked like there was chorizo meat blended with the potato and oh my goodness it was amazing. Areapas are always great. If you see it, get it. Trust me.They have their own sauce now which we use alot of. They place looks so intimate, perfect for couples but families are welcome. We take ours and they love it. Our children are 5 and 7. There is food there that wont be overpowering for them with spices. Rice dishes are great for them, theres potatoes with tomato sauce and with aioli (garlic mayo type dip for those who might not knowand others bits and bats. Theres a beautiful bar upstairs where you can have a drink while you wait for your table. It truly feels like youre in Cuba.Honestly, I couldnt recommend this place anymore than I already have. Weve been so many times over the years and the standards have never fallen. I remember seeing 2 reviews from Yorkshire Evening Post, one when it first opened and one a few years later and he said the food hadnt changed and it didnt need to. Look at the menu online and give it a try. Dishes are usually £4-5 each and you probably dont need more than 4.

Really good atmosphere. All of dishes were great and decent and we love it soooo much！Squids and tomato lamb were my favourite. Chicken rice had a delicious aroma and quite suitable for Asian tastes. Plus, excellent service!!!

Lovely venue with delicious food and a great variety of food and drink. One waitress was a bit invasive, asking us too soon whether we were finished with our food and made us feel a bit uncomfortable which was a shame. Staff generally prepared for closing quite early compared to the closing time, turning off music etc which was also a pity.

AMAZING, 10/10 would recommend. Theres normally quite a wait on a weekend but youll get seated straight away on a week night. They serve a wide variety of tapas with a lot of vegetarian options (Im vegetarian and honestly its some of the best food Ive ever eatenand the best Mojitos Ive had in Leeds. The desserts are also delicious if you have room. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, delicious food.

Friendly and attentive staff and our food was served really quickly.We really liked the jug of Sangria. The Tomato bread, meatballs and the aubergine stack were highlights. We visited on Tuesday and it was surprisingly busy, I think its got a good reputation locally.

Friendly staff, fast service, 6 of us booked a table on a Friday night, bustling atmosphere and great food... We always order too much but they are happy to bag up whats left to take away. Recommended.
