Viva Chicken - Peruvian restaurant in Saint George, United States
Normally we love Viva Chicken, but tonight’s take out was disappointing. We ordered 2 family Tacu Trays. They were out of the normal trays to package the meal and put it into round containers. I notice they only gave us two bowls of rice (this would have been enough if we ordered one tray, but we ordered 2). The lady told me this was the same amount of rice as the tray. When we got home we realized It wasn’t nearly as much as we normally get with the tray. Also, one of the avocado was bad. I’m not sure how they could miss that while cutting the avocado. Hope they can do better next time.
(St. George locationAwesome! Awesome service, tasty food, large portions, great options! Im vegan and my husband is vegetarian, so it felt a bit silly to go to Viva Chicken, but were so happy we did. My husband had the Tuca Bowl and I had the Andina Salad. Both delicious and very satisfying. We also loved the green beans. They made a mistake and ordered the wrong salad for me (Viva Salad), and as soon as I told them, they immediately prepared the correct salad for me. They wouldnt let me pay the difference and gave me both (I wouldnt eat the Viva because it has feta cheese, but my husband was happy to help 😉). Well definitely come again!
My husband and I shared both the 1/4 chicken with the Peruvian rice and platano(plantainalong with the Lomo Soltado. We tried all 3 of their sauces and we both loved the green sauce. It was soo flavorful.
The herbal limeade is worth eating there every week for sure. We had a half chicken, green beans, and plantains also the quinoa stuffed avocado with chicken all perfect choices when visiting Viva Chicken.
Attention fellow foodies, this Peruvian restraint is really good. The fried rice is excellent and there are other unique food options as well as some tradition ones. Definitely worth trying.
Love, love, love Viva Chicken! We’ve been eating here for years and it’s always fresh and delicious. Really appreciate being able to order ahead (Limena chopped salad!our favorites when we pass through town.Wish there were more Viva chickens around, because it’s a winning combo in every way!
Really good, fresh, Peruvian food. Love the seasoning on the Lomo Saltado. Some of the meat was a little fatty, but overall It was a great meal.
Viva chicken is a great place for healthy fast food. I mainly cook all my food at home but when I dont have time I come to viva chicken, its always fresh and flavorful. If you are health conscious and want a healthy meal with our paying for sit down restaurant prices, this place is great for a quick snack or dinner!
Its a great place to have dinner for a family, a bunch of friends or a large group. I totally loved their sandwiches. They have tons of healthy options to choose from as well. The drinks were healthy as well, to my surprise. All in all, this is a great stop for dinner when in Utah. I would recommend it even if youre trying their food for the first time.
Oh my goodness! The chicken was so good and really tasteful, the French fries another level and that mild sauce really really good. I wish they had a location in Salt Lake City. I was starving so I forgot to take pictures, sorry!
This place sucks. No one listens, even when I repeat my order to ensure the correct order is taken. I eat here often, but I guess I’ll now have to stop eating here because my order is never right. Every time I ask for well done/crispy sweet potato fries they’re presented to me as though they’ve been left out since opening that morning—Limp, soggy, NOT WELL DONE OR CRISPY. Today I ordered crispy fries, even told the cashier please make sure they’re well done—he doesn’t even put the order “well done.” Get my fries, they’re limp and soggy. No where near what I ordered. I’m tired of paying these prices, getting garbage-can food, I’m tired of management not wanting to make, me, the customer, happy. Take your SLC chain store back to the valley of yuppies.
The wraps are good. If you like smaller portions and dont need a lot to fill you up. The plates are bigger and are almost two meals. Got to try the yuca sticks. Packed with vitamin c and antioxidants to keep you healthy.
Viva Chicken consistently delivers delicious food! I have been eating here for years and absolutely love the flavors packed in the chicken and sides. The green sauce alone could have me returning time and time again for that alone. Service is always good. Highly recommend eating here if you’re in town.
Alex was super helpful and friendly… excellent customer service! Loved my Andina Power salad that he recommended. We love Viva Chicken!! When are you going to open one in Salt Lake City so that we don’t have to drive four hours to get our Viva fix??
Amazing food, flavor, portions, and price. I love the silverware it gives me a feeling this is not a fast food restaurant. My only suggestion is to double check the huancaina sauce cause I think you got the recipe wrong.
They have Peruvian classics like Lomo Saltado. I had the Arroz Chaufa with the Aji Amarillo sauce. Big flavor. The amount of food you get is surprisingly a lot. Despite this being fried rice, it tasted very fresh and healthy. This place is a solid 5/5 among fast casual restaurants.
My wife and I ordered the whole roasted chicken with three sides. The chicken was very moist, seasoned perfectly and tender. The side oderes we picked: sweet potatoe fries, green beans and and rice were equally just as good. Both of us really enjoyed our meal and will be going back.
The chicken and plantains were soooo good. Low sodium, perfect!! The medium salsa was yummy and the herb limeade was super tasty! Our whole party liked the place.
The chicken was great! We also got green beans, fruit, and plantains. Everything was delicious. Parents and kids all loved it. It was easy to order online and pick up curbside. The only thing I would do differently is order more chicken because it was gone in no time!
The Tacu Bowl is heavenly. Make sure to get plenty of extra Amarillo (Yellowsauce to go with whatever you order here, it’s quite possibly one of the best sauces I’ve ever had.
Food was tasty but dry. We had the rice bowl and the chabbata sandwich the rice had nothing wrong with it but it was nothing special. I had an entire stalk of some plant in my dry sandwich. Sweet potato fries were good. There are many more items on the menu but I would not be back to try them. Rice and a sandwich no drinks was $23.00. The rotisserie chicken did look good. Honestly disappointing. The staff was helpful.
Fresh ingredients, moist chicken not dry, really good price. The marinated corn bean salad was fresh and crunchy. The chicken comes with a wide variety of sauces. Taoco bowl had a really nice Cilantro lime flavor. Such a different mix of flavors and foods. We will return to try the other sides too. Delicious
The Options are great. The portions are good. The spicy sauce are unfortunatly not really spicy.. I took the most spicy one and didn‘t even feel a tickle on my tongue. The burrito was to bland for me.
We fed 10 for under $35 and the food is incredibly delicious. Viva Chicken is a favorite stop of ours every time we’re in St George. Great chicken, great sides, great sauce, great service!
Order first restaurant. The food was good and authentic. Not a huge variety. I would like to try more of the menu. The half chicken was well flavored and very moist. Did not care for the plantains. (Might just be me.I say… worth the visit.
Service was top notch, super friendly and attentive to us and others in the restaurant while we were there.Ordered a quarter chicken plate with cilantro rice and fries. Super tender chicken. You can choose dark or light meat. Also tried The Great (a chicken sandwich on ciabattawith a side of sweet potato fries. Highly recommend the yellow mild sauce (aji amarillo). Can’t wait to come back and try other menu items!
Great portions, friendly staff, delicious food and reasonable prices!
I dont visit, or pass through Saint George without stopping here. This past trip, we ate 2 meals here. And I ordered a wrap to go to have a lunch ready to take to work with me the following day. I love their food. The whole menu does not disappoint.
If you are a fan of Inca Cola, they have it here. Totally spaced taking any pics, but the food is delicious. Their Avocado stuffed Quinoa is my favorite dish, I always add chicken to it and I usually eat half there and take half home for later. It gives with bell peppers and a balsamic sauce on top.My son had a wrap and really enjoyed it as well. They have set potato fries (I always love sweet potatoe fries and these were no exception), and their regular french fries had an amazing seasoning on them and were amazing!Ill get pics next time, really is a tasty little restaurant. The atmosphere is low key and comfortable with fun drink options and a large party room for extra seating.**They havent had Inca Cola in weeks but hopefully itll be back. Their juices are amazing. Still love the quinoa stuffed avocado with chicken. Grabbed a plate to go today.
Okay, so this place is pretty darn good! The chicken was yummy and the plantains were just amazing, literally the best part. The rice was good as well. My only complaint is that they consider this "half" a chicken...
Viva Chicken is a great restaurant. They have quality food that tastes good that feels relatively healthy. I prefer the wraps, but they have excellent rotisserie chicken. I have been before when they ran out of rotisserie chicken which was a bummer because that is their most popular item and makes the restaurant so good. They are well worth a lunch or dinner option if youre in town and havent checked them out.
one of my favorite restaurants ever! i’ve driven thousand of miles on cross country road trip and stopped here. delicious, cheap, fast. 12/10 would recommend. i live in indiana now and think about this place often.
Line out the door. 50+ people in line. 15+ workers in the restaurant, and 1 person taking orders. Took WAY too long.Great food but terrible system. Avoid if you see any kind of line, they can’t handle it.
Very very delicious and fast. Loved everything we ordered - passion fruit juice, the bowl, 1/4 chicken with sides of yuca and plantains.
Great quick rotisserie chicken. Split a half a chicken and two small sides with my husband and it was plenty of food. My nephew got a kids chicken and rice it was very good. Also love the green beans.
One of the best food experiences you can have in St George. The closest comparison to the type of food is pollo loco, but there really is no comparison because Viva Chicken is a thousand times better than Pollo loco in every way. Would not hesitate to come back.We got a few of the chicken bowls, and a half chicken. They were tastey and you get a lot of food for your money. The mild / medium / hot sauces are each different and all really good. Mild is like cilantro lime salsa. Medium is like a spicy honey mustard. Hot is just a good flavorful hot sauce. All of the chicken was tender and juicy.Service was great, food came out quickly. Lots of seating. Some outdoor seating would be nice, but otherwise cant really think of any way to make Viva chicken any better. Top notch.
The food here is SO good! Me and my husband were in town visiting and while we were out decided to grab some lunch so I looked up what was around and this was the first recommendation. We went for it with all the great reviews and we were not disappointed. There was a pretty big line, but it moved quite quickly and the wait after ordering wasn’t bad either. I got their herb limeade and it was so good and tasted so fresh. It was really light. Not much sweetness which was really great. My husband got a couple sides with some of their chicken and was really happy with the freshness and flavors. I got a tacu bowl and was also super impressed with how fresh it was and thought it was delicious as well. Highly recommend. We would come again! The portions are pretty big so even though it’s more pricey than some places, the amount of food and the freshness is well worth the cost.
Great fastfood alternative providing some healthier options for those in need of a quick meal. The beef on the Lomo Saltado was surprisingly tender, juicy, and well seasoned. The staff was friendly, helpful and efficient. The interior of the restaurant was spacious and clean.
Good food. The wait is a little long to get in and order and finding a table during peak hours can be tough but overall good food, good atmosphere to sit and talk. Food was delivered quickly even before a table opened up for us to sit at which made things a little awkward. Even our pickiest eater found something she liked.
We enjoyed lunch here and got the Quinoa Avocado salad. For $11 I would expect more food than what I got. So I won’t be getting that again. However, their chicken and sauces are very good. I just might stay away from the salads. It always sucks when you try something else on the menu and you wish you didn’t :(
Okay, like actually great food. When I picked up that bag with our orders, I was so surprised on how heavy it was. REAL food. I have zero complaints and will definitely go back. Also, I went back, and wow. Never disappoints. Very good food.
Good food and great atmosphere. The bright and modern feeling made the restaurant really nice to be in. The passion juice is amazing. The menu was hard to read from the back of the line but great experience overall.
Everyone hyped this place up and it was quite disappointing. If you’re expecting Peruvian food, you won’t get that here. The meat had a weird seasoning on it and it lacked the Peruvian taste.
I was extremely hungry but was still left unsatisfied. I had The Great Sandwich and a fried rice dish which was way over salted. In both dishes, the chicken was extremely dry. However the establishment was very clean and the service is good. I would not come back though. Aside, yuca fries are pretty solid, but you only get four per order.
First time going here did not disappoint. I had the tacu bowl and added chicken to it. Fresh ingredients, great flavors and seasoning, and the rice was definitely Peruvian style. I added chicken to the bowl and the chicken was good but didn’t have any flavor so I had to lean on other flavors in the bowl and the sauce that I drizzled on top. I would go again! Also, it was a large portion and I had enough for leftovers the next day.
Woooowzers. I’m so in love.I ordered the full chicken meal, with 3 sides for my family. We added on a large fried rice. The chicken is incredible. Juicy, flavorful, and leaving you wanting more. The sauces (med, and hotare spectacular. The rice was delish. Plantains are sweet. Yuka was good, different than I’ve had in the past. Shockingly enough my oldest daughter (preteenwho is so picky, loved them. Sweet potato fries are basic - that would be my only complaint. However not enough to knock even 1/4 of a star off. We’ll be hitting up this gem once again, before we depart. 🤤🤤
We purchased several dinner chicken entrees for take out and we’re very satisfied. The chicken was hot and salads were fresh. Speedy service. Ease of parking and access. Clean store and upscale take out boxes instead of the typical styrofoam clamshells. Will definitely visit again.
This came highly recommended to me by several people and I was really disappointed. I got the stir fry with chicken and my friend got the stir fry without chicken and the stuffed avocado. The stir fry was over seasoned with ginger on both our stir fry dishes to the point that no other flavors were evident. The quinoa on the avocado dish on the other hand was bland and under seasoned. Overall, it was mediocre and disappointing. However the passion fruit juice was fantastic!
delicious meal with very quick & kind service. and the drinks are a must have, so good! highly recommend giving them a go.
Clean flavors, unique sauces, great place that is different from the usual, I love how flavorful the vegetarian items are! They also have a cool text message system that tells you when your food is done :)
