Visit Nordoy in Klaksvik

La dame était très sympa mais les informations données nétaient pas très complète, une pas correcte et elle na pas pu donner de carte légèrement détaillée de lîle, juste la carte toute simple des îles Féroé. Jattends un peu plus de loffice du tourisme. Je me balade avec des petits enfants et il y a des informations que jai besoin de savoir, par exemple si une promenade est ok à faire avec des petits enfants. La dame a dit que cétait ok, en sachant le temps. Mais en fait cest vraiment délicat. Des informations plus précises sont importantes.

Altijd handig om even Visitor Center te checken. Goede folders en kaarten, gegeven info is helaas niet altijd up-to-date....

Very nice and helpful people! I wrote them in advance to ask for some suggestions and got tons of help - both in booking accommodation locally but also in choosing activities and finding the right information. They are super friendly and will love to receive feedback after the activities!Highly recommend to pass by this office and get some local tips!

We waited for 20’ while the lady in charge was on the phone with someone on her cellphone, so this was probably not a professional call. When we first came in, there were only 2 little girls there and they went to call their mom who was sitting outside chatting on her cell phone. The girls went to get her and after 10’, she finally came but just sat behind her desk smiling at us from time to time without ever saying sorry or asking the person on the phone to hold on while she was doing her job and helping us. I got angry and left making it obvious that I was displeased. No reaction at all from her!!

Like all the Tourism Information offices around the Faroes, this is quite useful to visit - particularly to get the schedule & routes of the free Klaksvík city buses and other recommendations about the area. However, its a bit more sleepy than the excellent Tourism Office in Tórshavn and with less maps/brochures to hand out.They have a toilet in it, which also comes in handy.And even though they dont sell souvenirs like in the Tourism Office in Tórshavn, theres a shop next door selling gorgeous locally-made woollen sweaters.

Very friendly and helpful women, who had the patience to answer my many questions, even when I returned the next day to ask again. They tried to help when I had to change my plans because of the closing of the campsite in town, and I was able to come up with a solution.One less star as they didnt know that on the boat back from Fugloy theres a free bus to get you back to town. I knew, and I hope the now know.

My girlfriend and I planned our vacation to the Faroe Islands with a purpose of seeing the Kallurin Lighthouse to celebrate a special occasion, given that this is one of the most iconic sites on the Islands. Upon arrival at the Tourist Information center this day and given the time pressure we had to catch the last ferry departure to Syðradalur in time to make it for the tour, we feel that because we were in a vulnerable state, were taken advantage with the incorrect information we were provided by your staff.When inquiring about trails and hikes on Kalsoy, we were told that we "cannot get to the lighthouse without a guided tour" - this was very incorrect. Having received this information from a someone working at the Tourist Information center, and trusting the information we were given, we were conditioned to believe that the only way to the lighthouse is by signing up for the tour guide experience.Upon arriving to the town of Trollanes, we discovered only 3 other people to be part of our tour. There were however, approximately 20 other tourists, including children taking the exact same trail as us on their own. In fact, because it is the same trail, several of the other tourists who did not pay for the tour managed to take part in our group for FREE, asked questions, listened to stories, gained access into the Lighthouse, etc from our guide. Our guide was also NOT wearing a green jacket, as specified by the Tourist Information Center staff for identification. He was not wearing any sort of badge, name tag, uniform, or any kind of identifier that would have otherwise designated him as someone employed by the VIsit Nordoy tours. In fact, he mentioned that the tourist center called him to "do this favor", and that he had only taken 3 other groups on this trail over the past year. This seriously questions the legitimacy of this tour service and where the money is going, given that tours are offered so frequently throughout the week. The most aggravating part of this tour was that the entrance gate to the hiking trail had a sign that says "Follow us on Facebook". There is nothing to advise that the trail is prohibited, and in fact, it appears that hiking on this trail is welcomed to anyone.For a 2 hour tour, at a cost total cost of 896 DKK (448 DKK eachthere were no samples, no amenities, no provided transportation, no additional safety equipment, and no other offerings or activities to make this experience otherwise worthwhile. Especially for a tour of such short length, and for this price, and given that it was an easy hike where children were also on the trail, the price and value of this tour is highly questionable. Any other tours for this cost elsewhere, would either provide for a better experience, or at least be longer in duration.

Very helpful and friendly tourist office in Klaksvik. Selection of brochures and the staff are full of good advice. Take care to note the opening hours, especially in the winter. Next door there is a shop where you can buy Faroese woolen clothing etc.
