Fantastic cathedral to visit. You can visit the ground floor for free and for 2 euros you can go upstair and visit the museum of the city. The museum is filled with religious reliques and a beautiful view on the city of Viseu. In front of the cathedral there is another church and another museum thats worth your time. Highly recommended!

504 years old cathedral. Pristine and mostly still original, I believe. 🤔Free entrance to the cathedral. Payment for the museum. Surrounded with some nice old buildings. Lovely location.

Beautiful and ancient cathedral! Lots of history and a nice museum with Catholic art and relics. From upstairs there is a nice view of the city and also a view of the other church directly across the plaza.

Sé, is undeniably a beautiful place to visit when in Viseu, however this summer I had an unpleasant experience and In result was unable to enjoy the experience.As you enter, just before going into the church there is a small square, I proceeded to take pictures, making sure I was allowed to by checking for signs, seeing as there weren’t any and that I wasn’t the only one taking pictures there,I began, as I did an unidentifiable man approached me and my friend and started telling us that we were being disrespectful and that we should leave as the church is not a photo shoot center. We were not using us for a photo shoot of any kind.We then left and returned later. He came after us again this time threatening us that he would break our phones and approached us very closely and aggressively. I then asked him if he was responsible or worked in the church, he refused to tell me. He told us we were committing blasphemy, which was funny because as we left for the last time he then pulled out a cigarette and lit it just outside the church, which to me is worse than taking photographs and is completely disrespectful.
