Virginia Key Outdoor Center in Cutler Bay

Tried to go on Labor Day and they were closed. We enjoyed Virginia Key beach though, but was still a bummer.

Our favorite place to go paddle boarding with the kids!

I LOVE VKOC AND THEIR STAFF! I’ve been renting paddle boards for years from them. They’re always so helpful, from teaching where and how to ride, to navigating the local water ways, and what wildlife to lookout for they’re truly great.

This is an amazing place with a plethora of activities. The owners are awesome and have gone out of their way to set up a mountain bike trail here for riders. On top of that you can rent kayaks and paddle boards for cheap. They start around $25 an hour, but we got a double for $35. The staff was kind and helpful and gave their recommendations of the area and where we should go. There’s manatees you can see in the water if you paddle slow and don’t scare them. There’s also lots of little coves to explore. Will definitely return frequently
