Vinum Bar & Restaurant - Restaurant in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico
Henry took amazing care of our table! Amazing rolls and sangria was perfect!
Food and service was great, but the portions, particularly the handrolls, were pretty small.
Good experience overall. Interesting pairings. The kitchen was very slow though the service and food was excellent. Good wine selection though a bit overpriced. Worth a 2nd visit.
Perfect place to unwind after a long day of work. Food, drink and customer service was excellent.
Drinks were good but a little pricey
Good food and quality service. This place was not very busy, perfect for quiet conversations. We ordered several tapas/sushiVolcano: 5/5This was good. There was a great balance between tenderness and crunchiness. The seaweed tempura went really well with Sashimi poke.Beef tongue: 5/5Very tender and flavorful. I guess they also gave it a bit of torching, which adds to the richness of the flavor.Nigiri Omakase: 4/5It was beautifully presented. The nigiris are good but aren’t impressive.Hamachi Carpaccio: 3.5/5I do not enjoy Hamachi with Mayo personally. The mayo seemed to be too overwhelming. But the fish was fresh and I can imagine there will be people who actually enjoy it. But it is just not for me.
Great place for wine tasting and friendship gathering. Loves the Japanese tapas, delicious and well presentation.
Came in for wine tasting. Wines are good. The oysters are definitely not fresh and the waiters kept on pushing us for orders and bill starting from 9pm. Overall not recommended.
Love the new Japanese Tapa menu. Still amazing service but with an awesome new menu. Still have some of the favs from the previous menu. Hidden gem, we love it here. Jack is the best 👍
The food is made to order but the dishes are small and not your typical sushi style when ordering food. They have a great list of wines and there staff know what to suggest.
Delicious yaki udon (pesto seafood udonand scallop handrails! The interesting red blend flight was also great
A bit pricey, but the ambiance, menu options, drinks, and staff make it worth the price.
unpleasant food. reduced menu limited portions slow service. I am a fan of restaurants and before the change I went many times. They changed it and I decided to try it but I didnt like it at all.
Very nice location. Relaxed atmosphere. Outstanding service!!! Menu needs to be updated. Good wine selection but needs more beers. Cheese plate was excellent as was the lamb meatball.
Clean bathroom, lovely live music, ample parking, great ambience, great service, great wine and food pairing.
Fantastic wine, really good food, amazing service. Fairly pricey, though. Give it a try if you can afford.
Friendly service, lots of spirits and wine but sometimes not available. My friend and I ordered red wine, cheese board with bread which was awesome and fish tacos to get started, it was very delicious. We decided to ordered a entree to share, it was steak with Sparagus that never made it to our table. We waited almost an hour and we kept having wine and talking thinking that maybe the server was given us time to drink our wine and finish our bread and cheese board. After waiting so long I asked for our entree and I guess the answer that we got was that our dinner was placed at another table. It was upsetting but we decided to wait for a new dish to be made for us, it was worth the wait because it was perfection. We ended paying for everything despite the inconvenience, I do really like this place and will be going back because the food is good, on the $$$ side but worth it,I just wish that the servers be more careful when taking foods to the tables.
Interesting layout - one side inside the mall, one side is facing to the parking lot with see-thru window over the corner.Live band shows in certain time tables. Menu has a massive selection of tasting, good selections.Food is mediterranean cuisine, light and tasty.Good place for team events or gathering dining/dating.
Staff here is friendly. I am reducing a star only because they don’t have many vegan/vegetarian options and are pretty pricy for the vegan/vegetarian options that they have. They do offer a fancy choice of wines, true to their name and my wife liked their choice of cabernets.
Love this place. Good collection of wine and cheese platter. Food was good. Do not miss their French fries-its spicy and GOOOD
Loved and finished the melty warm chocolate cake and Moscato for a late dessert.
Our friend picked this place out randomly and the food was surprisingly good! I would recommend the Branzino, so tasty and yummy!
Came here for a date night dinner. It was a Sunday and we were having a hard time finding places that were open. We decided to eat outside and the server was great and served us on the shared patio! The atmosphere on the patio is a little odd since youre looking into a shopping mall, but I know the restaurant cant control that. My fiance had a glass of wine and I had the red sangria. The wine menu is small but it makes it easier to choose. The wine was good, but my sangria wasnt great. They use cream soda instead of lemon lime, and I wasnt a fan. We ordered some tapas - we werent too excited about any of the entrees. We had 3 montaditos - potato & chorizo, bell pepper & ricotta, and seared beef. The potato and chorizo came out cold. The other two were good. The bell pepper was our favorite. We also ordered a few pintxos, which I didnt think were worth the price. Except the curry chicken - that was good. The pork kabob was dry and the prawns were cold and didnt have much flavor. We also ordered the fried asparagus, which I liked. There wasnt really anything else on the menu we wanted to try. Thankfully it was a nice night and the server was very kind, but I dont think the food and drinks were worth the price
I dined at the Vinum Wine Bar & Restaurant this evening. We opted to dine indoors as the outdoor dining area was a little spartan for us. There is a bright, sunlit dining room that overlooks the mall parking area and beyond which we preferred to the area near the bar. But that’s a personal preference. As with most restaurants reopening, the Vinum staff told us the menu is limited. However, the menu had a lot more items than many restaurants I’ve been to post pandemic. And unlike many other restaurants that reopened, Vinum’s online menu matches the menu given in the restaurant. There is a good selection of tapas and appetizers but also a pretty good lunch/dinner menu of entrees. The quality of the ingredients, the taste of the food, and presentation were all very good.We had the fish tacos and the chicken skewer, which were very good, The oysters were excellent (served with two sauces and horse radish). The lamb meatball and fried asparagus were just ok (we ate them all). For dessert, we had the Cinnamon infused pannacotta w/mixed berry gelee. Excellent. On my next visit I want to sample the risotto and whole fish Branzino entees. The wine list is not huge, but much better than most of the offerings in the Fremont-Newark area. I had a Rose prosecco and the Juggernaut Cab both of which were very good. Note: Very good to excellent wine selections are usually found at fine dining restaurants. Since Fremont/Newark aren’t exactly the fine dining capitol of the Bay Area, I find wine lists at most Fremont/Newark restaurants less than inspiring. This is not the case at Vinum. They have flights of most of the wine categories and seem to have something for every level of wine drinker, including customers who appreciate some of the nicer labels. They might have one of the best wine selections in the tri-city area.In addition to wine, the bar seemed to have a pretty good selection of mixed drinks and beer. Since I only ordered wine, I cannot comment on the other beverages except to say that they are on the menu. Special mention to Jack our server who an excellent job. This is a restaurant that I will go back to and recommend to friends or family. We were there early so it was not noisy at all. Later in the evenings or on weekends, they are busier so the noise levels could be higher.
Great spot for tapas and wine with friendly service and exceptional quality of taste and freshness.
Had the cheese platter, skewers and sangrias. Loved the food and service. The staff there are hands down the sweetest people ever.
Weve been here a few times before and the service and quality as well as the food and drinks have ALWAYS been world class. They rotate their food and drink menu every so often so its always a pleasant surprise when we come back. The staff is very amicable and knowledeable. Will definitely come back and recommend Vinum to everyone I know!
Amazing service, Jesse has been amazing as well. We went on our anniversary and they made it even special for us. We loved the food as they catered to our needs perfectly.. please visit the restaurant whenever get a chance
Quite The Intimate Space On The 2nd Floor. Wine Pours Are Good, Cheese Board Is Outstanding, & Sweet & Spicy Calamari Is Pretty Good.
Quiet, urban sunset view from second floor, small portions, wine, tasty tapas size plates, restroom light is sensitive to moving, soft floor in West part, fancy and good wood tables in opposite side.
Good food and service. Great wine selection and a wide variety of dishes.
Great service and food
Food was good! But as its pandemic time, for outdoor dining you should seriously clean up the tables. It gave me a "okay" memory just because of that.
Food was pretty expensive for the portion and the menu was just not my style. Myself and my fiance had a glass of wine each and were happy with that. Has a small and cozy feel but for the price I dont want a view of the mall parking lot.
I just love coming here. Just took a star off because I just don’t enjoy their food. But it’s the atmosphere and wine that brings me here anyway.
Glad there is a wine bar at this area of East Bay. This is probably the only reason I will step into Newpark Mall ... well, besides the AMC. Had a wonderful experience - had the red wine flight (3 reds, each at half a glass). Took advantage of the happy hour prices too by the time we hung out there past 9pm. Ordered the spicy calamari and flatbread pizza - great. Fantastic service. Hope this place does well! Come support!
Good location, service.A bit pricey.Menu fitting the wine bar ambiance.
Met with friends and owner Jimmy to plan a fun event this coming month at Vinum Bar. We were treated to a wide sampling of Vinums unique and wonderfully tasteful tapas - we cant wait to come back again! Also introduced to Dan Chan, Master Magician who we see will mesmerise at our gathering. Cant remember when Ive so enjoyed a planning meeting! Thanks Jimmy, Dan!
Tapas is always fun, can get expensive. This place has a great selection and a refreshing wine list. The wines are mostly non-cellar but are excellent. They offer half or full glasses or bottles, so if you are not sure a half glass will give you a good taste. The food is amazing and different from other Tapas places I have tried. The setting is okay as it is in a mall, but the interior is well done.. The only negative is the noise level, when full as it is most times, it is hard to carry on a conversation. We did love the wine and food enough to want to return.
Very cool spot to get some tapas and vino. There are two sections, the bar area with some table seating, and in the back is a full dining area.
Great service, great food, decent beer! Loved their vegetarian pizza, and the happy hour oysters!
In Newark much need it place. The ambiance is nice at the bar side but their regular seating area is missing some thing. If they match up the Jacks ambiance in down stairs I would go more often. Unless you go on their Happy hours the prices little on high side.
Spacious seating. Tried out a variety of the dishes including the paella which was good. Pricing is a bit on the expensive side considering the size of the tapas. Happy hour menu is unimpressive, with most things being only a dollar off. Great ambiance though, definitely doesnt make you feel like youre inside a mall. Bar is clean and plays sports.
Hands down one of the worst places I have ever been to.First off I ordered the risotto which turned out to be horrible. The smell was overpowering so was the oil. Not to mention the risotto was incredibly chewy. I had one bite got up and left the place.I walked to the counter and my server did our bill. Obviously we didnt finish our food in 2 mins however this server didnt even bother asking how the food was or what went wrong with the risotto. She did our bill and said thanks and then walked away.Had it just been the food I might have overlooked it as I understand even a good chef can possibly have bad dishes here and there but what really got them the 1 Star is the low quality of the service.Never coming back to this place.
Its restaurants like Vinum Bar that make malls worth going to. Ive visited four times now for lunch. Each time I had a great meal with great service. Their wine selection is extensive and includes wines from Spain, France and Italy which is a huge plus for me. When they have it their cambozola cheese burger is to die for. One of the best burgers Ive ever had. The chef cares about the food he prepares and it shows.
Good addition to Fremont/Newark area. This was the second time I came and was greeted by a friendly staff. My friend and I caught up after a very long time and they let us chat away until closing. The star omission is more because of food. AustinAlthough good, but I guess the menu changes. Which is okay but it would be good to keep a few consistent items.
Was surprised to find a wine bar at a mall. But there it was, in a shiny new area of the Newpark Mall. Their wine list was also very surprising. Opus One, Caymus, and Silver Oak were all available. Those prices were higher than what we wanted to spend, so we settled for a bottle of Komodo Dragon which was not bad. The evening turned out to be a fun outing at Vinum.
Amazing! Great food and wine and friendly service. Will come back for Ladies Night on Tuesdays. Check in on Facebook to get a free dessert or a discount on the dessert sampler.
Unique upscale dining option in the tri city area. Terrific wine selection and a wide variety of tapas and snacks for any occasion.
Quick and friendly service, great wine selection and lots of delicious shareable plates. I especially loved the pears and burratta -- sooo good! Perfect spot for dinner and a movie date.
