Vinería Cervantes - Restaurant in Malaga, Spain
Vinería Cervantes in Malaga
Description
Privilege
Just had a lovely dinner at this restaurant. Not only was the food (& winedelicious, the waiters and chef were excellent in dealing with my extensive allergies list. I highly recommend this venue.
MoreThe stand out restaurant of our recent trip to Malaga. Everything was fresh and delicious and the waiter was very helpful in recommending both suitable dishes and a wine to match. It was very busy when we arrived (9pmso booking is advised but did get quieter as the night wore one. I have genuinely had meals costing three or four times as much as this which were not as enjoyable. Very highly recommended.
MoreStaff was incredible, 4 out of 5 dishes were amazing, the last was good. The wine we were served was perfect for the 5 courses. We went here twice in 4 days, and if we come back to Malaga, this will be the first place to go for dinner. The red tuna tartar was my absolute favorite
MoreCeviche and duck were stand out dishes not to be missed. Some of the dishes were the same as what is offered at neighbouring sister restaurants. Disappointed there was only wine by the bottle and the cheapest was €25.
MoreCozy and friendly place with some excellent tapas dishes. Codfish, secret pata negra stand out. Great rioja at fair prices.
MoreSix euros for a single glass of wine. Youve been warnedSeis euros para una copa de vino. Has sido advertido
MoreThank you for an incredible night. Food and staff were excellent. The waiters recommendations for food and wine were spot on. Definitely a place we will return to.
MoreNice service. The waiter made us order wine in bottle rather then glasses, but he did it so smooth - no regrets here. The guy was attentive and fun.Food is very good. May be not the best tapas in Malaga, but you will enjoy it for sure.Prices are in the upper range.
MoreAmazing food and great service. The steak and ceviche was amazing. By default they are offering the Rioja wine, but they have several different (and cheaperones, so should ask for the wine list.
MoreTourist trap.- Its called "vineria" and they only have 2 wines by the glass and it costs 6€- Bad service, the argentinean waiter was nice at the beginning until we order 2 dishes "only that?!" And also He is not clear about what crianza wine means. They definitely push to order 5/6 dishes.- Food was cold.- They are not allow to give tap water...- I wasnt happy with my wine. The spanish waiter very kind asked if everything was ok and He offers another better option for us, excellent. The other waiter dropped the bill without asking for it and pushing the payment which included the 2 extras glasses (which were replacementsthe one they kindly offer.I dont recommend and Ill never come back.
MoreBe awere about this kind of tourist trap! After experienced many delicious tapas place around the Costa del Sol, I fall into the wrong place to end my trip here. The water was fine and two out of three waiters very polite. I still love Spain!
MoreLooking for another tapas bar like those excellent we had in Granada or Seville, this was not our place and not our recommendation. At worst we had a red tuna tartar which was covered by 1 cm of guacamole sauce full of garlic, and marinated in a kind of strange oriental sauce. The tuna taste was invisible at all. We asked for some olive oil, and got a place with an invisible layer of oil, barely green. I couldn’t say if it was olive oil or something else. Most certainly not extra virgin or virgin. They could lose on one of the easiest thing in Spain. The two salads were good though and the woman in the staff very kind and friendly. Prices were ok but above average.
MoreOne of the best tapas bar in Malaga. Well worth the walk. Great wine election. Tasty food. Locals love it.
MoreTop end tapas bar well with a visit. Food scrumptious and four to six dishes would normally be purchased for a couple - most of the dishes come in 3 different sizes, with prices to match. The Vino Blanco we consumed was of good quality, well chilled with a grassy aftertaste - the perfect taste of summer in a glass. Not the cheapest, but certainly in high demand!
MoreVery friendly staff. Busy spot. Some of the menu items are better than others. Good wine selection.
MoreWe dont know actually about the food as it seems we have a difficulty to communicate. They didnt let us to order tapas, the Male waiter insisted of us having 5 half portions as they were small as he said. So why the have tapas on menu of they dont let you to order. As we always prefer to make our own choices and to be victimised just because we are visitors we pay our drinks and left. Oh and no menu with prices came to the table.
MoreWe felt cheated.Tried to make a reservation at "La Tapeo de Cervantes", but it was fully booked. However they had a table at "Vineriá Cervantes". Was promised to have the same menu and service. After being seated it took over 15min to get further attention. Normally not a problem, but seeing other tables, which arrived later, getting proper attention, it can be a bit annoying.Eventually we got the "menu of the day", which had roughly 10 dishes, without prices. We asked for the regular menu, the one advertised online, but "it was all they had". Again not a problem normally, but other tables DID get the normal menu. Even saw dishes being brought that we couldnt choose. To top it off, wine only came per bottle. A single glass was not possible. Yet online it clearly states prices of wine per glass and yes, other tables did have wine without bottles. So clearly we should have walked away, but foolish enough we stayed. Luckily one important thing was great: The food.So be warned if you are a tourist. There are 4 "cervantes" within 100m. Hopefully others are better.
MoreWe asked 9x for bread and they completely ignored us.PROs+ Good food+ Nice atmosphere+ Staff speaks English+ Menu in Spanish and EnglishCONs- Abysmal customer service from the 2 male staff on 14 May 2019, 8:30pm- Everyone else was getting bread just our table did not get any despite informing 2 different waiters- Slow service- Lots of tiny mosquitos that leave itchy presents on your skin- Poorly maintained bathroom- Extremely cold aircon
MoreOk, the food was ok, small but we were warned about this. We were pressured to order more because the food was small, but when we said we only wanted one dish, ok. They tried to sell us water with our one drink, but we declined. No problem. The wine price was ridiculous- we’ve spent 7 weeks in Spain so far and eaten in Michelin star restaurant in Madrid and NEVER been asked for 6€ for a glass of standard Albariño, but ok, I saw the price list before I ordered so that was my choice. The tuna was nice and we thought about ordering something else. But the waiter serving the next table was rude and bullying to his table of 3 guests of maybe Japanese/Korean origin... he almost demanded a tip and went on to explain that service is not included and everywhere in Spain, tipping is expected.Again, 7 weeks in Spain and paying by card for almost every transaction, we have never once been asked to add a gratuity. He made them and us feel very uncomfortable- we decided not to order anything else.As expected our waiter and bill never mentioned a thing about service charges. This is blatant extortion of a certain type of tourist and is completely unforgivable when the prices are already ridiculous in relation to other places (including Madrid).
MoreVery good food, but it is a bit pricey (60€ for 2 peopleand it isnt very relaxing. Finally control at the end the check; they put 2 things on it we didnt order...
MoreAmazing tapas and staff! Dont miss this one!
Delicious tapas, excellent service, fine wine and buzzing atmosphere. Only criticism rather cramped and pricey.
More- served no tapas at night;- had no carte for the wines;- waiter told us to order all we wanted at once, no extra orders possible;- charges 24 euros for 4 glasses of open red wind.Total rip off .Dont go there!!
MoreGreat little restaurant. The food is excellent, fantastic taste. You can eat a plate, 1/2 portion or sharing it. Very busy, so reservation is recommend.
MoreWe ate her twice 3yrly ago and loved it.we returned this week and were not disappointed.the food service and atmosphere were as good as we remembered and again we paid 2 visits.it is almost worth visiting malaga just to eat here! The ceviche and fig flan are particularly delicious. You do need to book as extremely popular.
MoreWonderful tapas and fantastic risotto (sry..italians😍😍😍
Wow. What a fantastic meal! Exceptional
Amazing place! Tasteful food and wine and the staff is amazing!! Well come back!
Delightful place. They seated us without a reservation despite being busy. Great service and delicious food. I would definitely recommend a visit!
MoreWine and tapas bar. The wine was delicious as was the tapas. The staff are patient and very helpful (one of our party had special dietry requirements). I recommend you visit if you are in Malaga.
MoreEverything here was awesome and cooked beautifully!
What a great find!! Just arrived here and passed by this restaurant. Saw the reviews here and thought I would give it a try. Great food, very nice and friendly staff!! I had the tuna and the Argentinian steak as recommended! Muy bueno!! Im definitely coming back!
MoreVery good. Excellent food. Nice wines. A bit more expensive but still good value
5 Star Service and 5 Star food. Great Ambiance Very welcoming staff. I was very happy to give a tip since it wasn’t included in the bill.I loved their complementary olives, ceviche, squid dish has fantastic texture, rucola salad didn’t taste at all bitter, the ham with pumpkin and jam was also fab. This was one of my holiday‘s highlights for sure. Will definitely save address for a revisit.
MoreSuperb food and wines. Best in town. Services are perfect. A must to visit
When the waiter is rude no metter how good the food is. In this resteurant waiter was so grumpy that our meal was not a good experience. The food quality was good but size left a lot to wish for. The portion was ok only if youre not too hungry.
MoreEnvironment: Taking the design to a casual but still cosy level with open kitchen makes it welcoming.Food and Drinks: The chef sure knows how to balance the different food textures and so as to please the palates known flavors. The squid with black rice and almond, rockets with goat cheese and red berries, as well as the seared tuna is highly recommended. Ask for a wine paring. They don’t miss.Service: Seems to be a positive vibe of waiters that run around and support each other to render a chaotic harmony of service to customers.LATEST REVIEW: 201710
MoreHad iberica ham with apricot jam and 2 pieces of pumpkin. Tasted interesting, Id advise you to try this combo rather at home since it is easy to do by yourself at home. Other than that, staff was rather grumpy so keep it in mind. Tr
MoreA place to go! Everything here is excellent! You can try every tapas! Nice terrasse and smiling service!
MoreThe food was good, but waiter was pushy on the wine: ignored our wish for per glass orderinf, just showed a list of € amounts per bottle and asked what price we wanted. When we persisted on getting a bottle from the wine menu, we were shown another wine, "as good" . As we saw this bottle appear on other tables too, we got the impression they had a batch of these bottles to push out.My advice to VC: update your winelist to available wines, honor your per-glas-list and treat your customers with more respect.
MoreSuperb tapas, great vibe, good service... Even if you only pop in early in the evening for a glass of wine and a little fish of their lovely green olives... We particularly liked the cod with roasted red peppers and the venison with wild mushrooms and sour cherry jelly...
MoreGreat selection of Tapas. Wonderful services. Huge selection of wines. Cant find fault.
Moregood wine bar in Malaga with good tapas. Ambience is good and stuff is friendly. There are only a few tables but service is good. Variety of wine but also you can try deserts.
MoreOne of the best meals I have had in Spain. Wonderful friendly service too.
This is a small, but cosy restaurant. They really know their tapas and have a very exciting and tasty tapasmenu! They also have a really good selection of wine. The staff is very friendly. This place is popular, so book a tabel!
MoreVery nice Tapas i can recommend the grilled Octopus please be adviced that the card has also daily specials i dont know if octopus is always there
MoreLoved it all! Nice waiters in Spain? So surprising. Tapas and wine were great and not a bad price
MoreFantastic place. Food is great. Modern, but not overcomplicated. Smart, but made for you to enjoy, not for the cook to brag about. Marvelous selection of wines and very good service. If in need to find one place in Malaga for a meal - go here.
MoreWe were losing hope for food in Malaga until we found this tiny but amazing spot! Recommended visit it youre ever in the city
MoreGreat tapas, great wine and very friendly service. Will visit again for sure.
