Via di Santa Maria a Marignolle, 10, 50124 Firenze FI, Italy, Florence
Set on 20 hectares of vineyards and olive groves, this high-end hotel in a 14th-century manor house is 3 km from art at the Uffizi Gallery and 4 km from the 13th-century Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore.Refined rooms provide free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and minifridges; some offer garden access and/or city and park views. Suites add sitting areas, while upgraded suites feature frescoed ceilings and countryside views.A breakfast buffet and parking are complimentary. There's also an upscale restaurant with a terrace. Other amenities include a heated outdoor pool, a gym and a Turkish bath, plus massage services.
We stayed here for our honeymoon, the hotel is nice with a great pool. I wouldn’t consider it a 5 star hotel anymore perhaps a 3-4 (everything is quite old). Central Florence is quite a big walk from the hotel and up a steep hill (walking would be impossible for most with taxis costing a lot of money). The food and drink prices at the hotel are ridiculous, very overpriced and they charge you for EVERYTHING including instant tea and coffee in your room, water etc). It is a shame because the hotel starts to feel like an overpriced prison, wouldn’t stay here again unfortunately.
Fantastic hotel! Will definitely be going back.
Nice room and a great bed. However, the service was appalling, choice of bar/pool food very limited and over priced. Very disappointed.
Enjoyed our stay here very much! The location is ideal because it couldnt be closer to Florence center (a few minutes by taxibut affords you the comfort of staying in th relaxing and beautiful countryside.
Im giving 4/5 stars as that is the way ito should be in hotel stars also. Really nice and authentic place with good view to the city. Wineyeards, olive trees etc. Pool is beautiful, but service is really slow. Waited 2 times in the pool bar to get service but didnt get it. Breakfast was nice but all juices were out, melones were out and coffee had to be asked. Not for the surprise, waitress was the same as in the pool last night. Moving like in a slow motion film. The room was really beautiful and clean but as for a 5 star hotel, complimentary drink or similar was missing. Chocolate and water is not a complimentary.
In case you expect a Four Star Hotel, it would be Ok. But from a 5 Star House we expect more.Negative:- very poor and unfriendly service- pool bar: three basic dishes to choose from (pasta, plain salad and totally dry toastwhich costs eur 20.-. The prices are simply hilarious for the quality of food that you receive!- house keeping in the middle of day. They stayed in the room even when we arrived back in the room and continued cleaning.- the quality of breakfast and dinner is as well not 5star niveau.- the staff seems to be very badly trained. No management was around to keep an eye on them. They hardly speak a common language as English. We waited e.g. every morning for quite long time to simply get a coffee. Most of the time they also just forget our orders. Btw, the Restaurant was not full a this time!Positive:- Beautiful pool area- late checkout- clean facilities- beautiful locationWe must Highlight again that this is not a 5star Hotel Service level. Overall a nice Hotel, but currently not at 5Star Level.
I recently had my daughters wedding at Villa Tolomei .What a wonderful experience it was . I cannot say enough . It was flawless thank you everyone for helping create a wonderful memory on such a special occasion
Average stay - hotel was a nice location with a lovely pool. Staff were mixed, some were quite rude whilst others were friendly. The room was not to superior standards, we were dragged all the way round the back of the hotel, past the maintenance and cleaning areas. The room itself was okay, sound travelled easily through the walls so you can hear the other guests easily, some parts of the room looked tired and there was damp on 1 wall, the balcony area would have had lovely views of Florence if it wasn’t for the overgrown bush and a knackered old shed in the way.
The good: The kitchen staff were excellent at the bar, breakfast and restaurant. Especially Daniel from Ecuador. The pool and gym were great and well kept facilities. The rooms had a lot of nice details and fine touches. The property itself is great to walk around with rows of Cypress trees welcoming you into the property. Its also a 8-10 euro taxi ride to most spots (15-20 euros for Santa Maria Novellaso its well situated. They also did a good job hosting my friends wedding. The bad: I am not sure if they had turnover due to COVID but some training or re-training is required for the front facing staff. On our third last day our "do not disturb" sign was taken away without explanation and not replaced. On our second last day our room was cleaned halfway and the door left unlocked (door ajar with deadbolt engaged)... with our passports and other personal items out. Instead of the front desk dealing with it (as they spoke Englishthey sent the poor cleaning lady back up to the room and she was clearly on her way out for the night as she had already changed her clothes. She didnt speak any English so we just gestured at each other awkwardly and the whole thing could have been avoided if the front desk had just taken responsibility for it. We were not looking for any blame or anything just needed them to know we didnt like our door left open that way. Instead they passed the buck to us to deal with the cleaning lady. This is the only reason why we were unable to give them 5/5 stars rating.
We came to this venue for a family wedding. Its amazing. The staff is incredibly friendly, professional and the grounds and buildings are immaculate. The views are 360° of Tuscan beauty.
Good
Very nice hotel outside of the center. Lovely view over the hills and a place for peace and quietness
Very nice Hotel. The view is amazing. Consider that you probably have to take a taxi to go to the city and it costs about 17- 20€ one way. You cant really park in the city.
Very nice hotel and pool area! Unfortunately the toilet in our room wasnt functioning, but we were moved to a new room the following day when they had availablity. We luckily got a compensation for the first night. Location is quite nice as one would expect to be further from the city with the amazing view, but its only a 20 min walk to Porta Romana. The hotel staff was helpful and attentive.
Should be 2 star hostel by food and service. Just happens to be in near 5 star building
Very nice place. The streets to get to the place are very narrow so if you are not Italian it could be stressful.Wonderfull view for city.Everything they wrote about the place seems to be true.
We did not stay, but visited for a wedding. Villa Tolomei made for a simply stunning location. The view from the terrace is incredible and the attentive staff made the day transition seamlessly from one part to the next. The food was also delicious.
A very nice hotel with stunning view on Firenze.
Best part about the hotel is the pool, so if it’s not summer and it’s too cold to visit the pool then the hotel comes across as overpriced. The room is ok, I would expect more for the price. Breakfast is good. Staff were ok - except for when they tried to charge me twice for the stay.
Remote location, suitable for honeymooners. Even though it supposed to be 5 stars there is no porter to help with luggege. In the rooms, not enough sockets to charge your phone.Bathroom OK but nowhere to put your toiletries. The room itself is nice and big with enormous abandoned fire place.Resturant serve dinner all nice and decorated but leaves you hungry, even though we paid €65 for a naked steak. Whatever you do do not order the vegetable soup. It come in a large plate with a round hole in the middle to house the little soupStaff are nice and friendly but still not a place for me to stay again.
The beautiful hotel is located , as you can see, in a very quiet area in Florence. A short ride to the city center
Words can’t do justice to this place and to how pleased I was for having my wedding here!!! The villa is beautiful! The staff is amazing and the price is optimal, I felt like I got so much more than what I paid for! We had a destination wedding, most of our guests were coming from other countries and had never been to Italy before, so it was very important to me that they had the most amazing time at the wedding. Villa Tolomei surely didn’t disappoint! The restaurant of the villa took care of the food and our guests had a very high end dining experience! There was plenty of room for dancing, and Irene, the event planner did an amazing job with putting together the decorations. All of my guests felt very welcomed and enjoyed the full Italian experience, with great food, hospitality and views of Tuscan hills and Florence!
Nice place if you want to be away from the crowd.
Its 6 star from me , wow views even better staff and rooms , thank you .
One of the most beautiful elegant and relaxing place in florence
Beatifull view, nice and warm people, staff helpfull and more.
What an exceptional place! Food and staff are unbelievably good!
Hotel was really beautiful, rooms comfortable. Bed was medium firm. Trying to figure out how to work faucets for shower and sink was kinda tricky in our junior suite. Ads say all suites have frescos, not true, junior suites dont. Only two rooms (both suiteshave that. Ads also imply its a 10 minute walk to Florence, was more like 10-15 mins in cab to get to center of town. Its on a steep hill, you gotta really like walking to do that one multiple times a day. Pool area was awesome, nice view. Got a chefs tasting menu for my birthday which as adventurous as we are with our pallet, it was a little weird, but they pour wine very liberally so I didnt care that they served octopus with a thick bean soup or pigeon. Would def go back the views are just amazing and I like the quiet break from being in the city most of the day.
This hotel is stunning! The staff were lovely and helpful, it was quiet and clean. I can’t comment on the food as we didn’t eat at the hotel. The views from our room were amazing! My only disappointment is that it’s too far out fromThe city (booked via easyJet and they said this hotel was close to the cityand it gets very expensive using taxis. It is a long walk up and down the steep hill with cars rushing by. Lesson learnt though to check myself in future!
Lovely place. It was hot and the air conditioning was working very hard to cool
Fantastic hotel staff can not do enough for you pool was brilliant

Great place ! Amazing service ! Well done..
Excellent service, beautiful wine, food and location
One of the best resort I have been in, nice staff and quite beautiful place and view, worth to stay in
Beautiful resort. Attended to a wedding party, which was beautiful. Great staff
Attended a wedding party ar Villa Tolomei, and everything das very good, the view, the food, the service.
Gorgeous hotel in a great, quite location just outside of Florence.
!
Super
Clean place, nice receptionists and helpful. Best hotel I stayed at in italy
Beautiful rooms views restaurant
Beautiful villa with amazing view of Florence
Love it!
A beautiful hotel with lots of potential. But wifi was spotty and didnt work inside rooms. The concierges (pluraldid not seem to understand the concept of service or making a guests stay more comfortable. The ristorante was closed for 2 out of 4 nights we were here and it became more of an upscale pick up joint for locals paying a door fee. Do yourself a favor if you are coming for Florence pick a hotel closer to town or if you want Tuscany try staying at a Fattoria in Panzano in Chianti or by Montalcino. The expense of the taxi to and from town becomes silly and the hills and narrow roads make it unwalkable after dark. P.S. We are what youd consider fun and into nightlife and even this scene left us thinking of cheap clubs back home.
Awesome!
This hotel is located outside the city center. So you can only reach it by car or taxi. So same goes if you would want to go to the city. However I think you book this hotel for exactly that and the restaurant is good andd the view when you have dinner is fantastic. I had no time to use the spa so I can not judge it. The breakfast was very nice and there is enough. Variety. Then the room. It was very nice. It is more classic then modern. However I have some minors for a room that costs 300euro per night! (My business partner gave to me). The bathroom does not have a seperate shower and the marmer floor is slippery when you have to get out the bath from under the shower and I almost fell which scared me. So this is something that needs fixing. Then the bed is short. I am 2 meters and I could not really fit. I slept like a baby because the bed is really comfortable, but why do you not make is 2.20 meters so every person had a great bed! Then last, the room was a bit noisy and that I did not expect. In this case I was not afraid someone would enter but still..Overall it was one of the most beautyfull places I have stayed in my life. So the negative points I give are based on the price. If this was not 300 but for instance 125 then I would tell you to not think twice and rent for at least once in your life a place like this.
Great staff! Nice property.
Great location, good service, quiet, not a place for young children, 5-10 minutes from centre of Florence by taxi at the most, cant recommend it more highly.
