Park with a National Monument for the Napoleonic Wars on a hilltop with waterfalls & viewpoints.
A unique park loved the waterfall 😍🤩 I visited it last year on August and the water was running and looks dreamy
Could not see the waterfall and the park looked abandoned.
The Viktoriapark (English: Victoria Parkis an urban park in the locality of Kreuzberg in Berlin, Germany. It opened in 1894.It is situated on the Tempelhofer Berge range, forming the northern slope of the ground moraine Teltow Plateau, overlooking the glacial valley with Berlins city centre. The major landmark of the park is a cast iron monument of 1815 dedicated by King Frederick William III of Prussia to the liberation wars (Befreiungskriegefought at the end of the War of the Sixth coalition against France in the course of the Napoleonic Wars. It provides an excellent viewpoint over much of the central and southern portions of the city. In summer an artificial waterfall originates at the foot of the monument and continues down the hillside to the intersection of Großbeerenstraße and Kreuzbergstraße.
Nice small park. If you want to see the waterfall, come in spring/summer.
Its a park, some grassy areas some trees and a big false waterfall in the middle of it. I wouldnt travel especially to visit but if its between places I am going I cut through
Truly beautiful park with excellent playgrounds for children. Very much recommended.
Beautiful park situated in a lovely neighborhood. Sits right behind a delightful restaurant and includes a little petting zoo.
Very nice park with twisted pathways, a small waterfall and a great view from the top.
It is a nice park in the heart of a very cool area in Berlin. Nice to have a break and relax on good weather days.
It is small but very pretty park on the heart of the city. From the top it has a nice view of the city (the only park in the centre built on a slope). Around there are a lot of convenience stores so someone can grab a drink and chill on the park. In the park there is also a nice beergarden.
A park with a lot of potential and promise, however as most of Berlin parks we visited it shows a surprising lack of maintenance. The lookout monument on top, twisting pathways and waterfall with its photogenic view are still nice, but we got out of here as fast as we could instead of spending an afternoon in here
A very pleasant walk park to stroll through. Unfortunately the waterfall was dry during my visit. Some very steep inclines.
Beautiful park, with quite a hike to the top. Loads of benches to sit on and the park is pretty clean overall. Only downside is we came also for the waterfall, but unfortunately this one was turned off or completely dried up because of the hot weather. There is a playground for children and most places in the park have a slope next to the stairs, so you can even get in if you cant walk the stairs
You have a great view form top of the hill thereHowever, be prepared to see lots of broken glass. The waterfall is not functioning at the moment
I am impressed with this park. Trees individually and as a group look like art. In this park you can definitely understand what beauty is.
A bit underwhelming, the water was not flowing down and the battle of nations monument is destroyed by graffitis, and a lot of broken glass is scattered around.
The park is a nice place for a picnic and walk. The monument needs a good cleaning.
Good location, a nice park.
It wouldve be amazing if the water had flown there but unfortunately it was dry. If you look the picture I uploaded it would seem that there is a church tower but its actually just a monument there! 😀
A beautiful park in Kreuzberg in the Bergmannkiez region. There is a waterfall inside the place, bathrooms and the view is wonderful. A perfect place to relax or do sports.
Nice calm park for picnics, just some parts are too dusty for laying down but in general a nice place to chill. Also has a kids area and public toilets.
Beautifully maintained park with good views of berlin.
Gorgeous park in Berlin. Nice waterfall and flowers. One of the few ‘not flat’ parks in Berlin, so be prepared for a nice little incline of walk ;)
I used to loved this park, with so many lush greenery . Park was up and down . It’s good for walking, jogging and picking also
Good park but theres no waterfall anymore:(
Place is nice :specially the monument yoy get very good sight of the berlin city from Top
I liked the atmosphere also the kids playground was really fun
Viktoriapark is one of the most popular parks in Berlin. If offers couple highlights, the park is in a great location, you can see the man-made waterfall when the weather is warm. Great place to just sit down and catch up with friends or just enjoy the sunshine. Plus, on the top of the hill, it stands a monument, from there you can have a great view above Kreuzberg and beyond. Its free for everyone, so dont forget to snap some great photos.
Nice and serene especially during the weekday. Beware that during the winter, there is no water in the waterfall.
Small park but really lovely, currently theres no water in its waterfall ( in winterand its still beautiful let alone if theres water falling.
Gorgeous park. I would recommand getting a coffe at café Saz, its right at the cornor of the park. And then making your way up to be mesmirized by the view of the city 😊
One of the best parks in Berlin :Great view of Berlins panorama, cool spot for sunsets on the top of the hill and unique waterfall in the heart of Berlin! Must visit for everyone :)
Excellent park for a walk, would be great to see waterfall. Currently not falling due to lack of rainfall
A very nice park for morning walk and to enjoy sun. It has a waterfall and a Prussian monument of Liberation also inside the park. From the park, great view of Berlin can be had. Water fall was closed in winter.
Very beautiful park! The cascade is pretty and from the top you get a nice view of the city.
Nice park, especially for sunset, since its one of the few parks with an elevation in the city.
Nice park in crazy Kreuzberg, where you can at least have some fresh air in crowded and dusty city area. The park is nowadays, however not that clean, as it used to be.
Good place. It is much bigger then it looks on first sight. Pretty silent place where everyone will find its place. There are areas with nice gras, playground for kids, trees that provide privacy and shadow, the view from very top is amazing and there is even beautiful waterfall. Highly recommend this place to visit.
Its was awesome experience for me to visit this park. Such quite place u will hear birds and waterfall sound... u will definitely find peace of mind near to waterfall. Place sometimes bit crowdy at weekends..... do visit guys its summer now
Very beautiful park . Here you can enjoy the ver beautiful view of city Berlin from high. There is also a very beautiful water fall.
Very beautiful Park to spend lovely sunny day. You can go for a walk or a run, mini hike too.
This is our local park. It is an absolute delight, and though it is quite popular amongst locals, I feel like it is a well-kept secret in the context of the whole city of Berlin. It is pure magic in all four seasons, but in Winter (as with most placesits certainly not as breath-taking as in the other seasons, but sometimes we get lucky with a beautiful snowfall! So I figured Id share some pictures from our walk this past January 3rd. Such a lovely day that was! Ill review the individual eating venues and monuments another time when I can post some striking pictures of them in the warmer months. Explore this park! Especially all the smaller trails on the Eastern side of the waterfall which are less popular. Enjoy!
One of few great views over Berlin. Start at the base of the waterfall and follow any path upwards to the memorial of the 1813 alliance war against France. The Iron cross awarded first during this war gave kreuzberg its name and is featured on the top of this memorial.
Located in the middle of the downtown. A very nice place to escape the daily stress. One u reach the hill you have a beautiful view over the city
Very nice place to have a picnic or to have a good time in a park. The waterfall sound is also relaxing and there are some concerts.
Kind of grungy looking park with a hillock in the middle, definite local folk ambiance, many folks lounging on the hillside watching the sunset on lazy summer evenings, theres a nice little artificial waterfall running down the hill from the bastion on the top, with people having a bath, children splashing around, running barefoot down the footpath, cute and funny. The monument at the top of the hill features a sculpture dedicated to the Napoleonic liberation wars. One has nice views of the park and the city from the monuments platform. In fact on summer evenings there can be quite a few people lounging on the steps, taking pictures, talking, enjoying a beer. Nice vibe. At the foot of the hill, down the path along the waterfall, there is a little pond featuring a sculpture called "Rare haul" (Der seltene Fangby Herter, depicting a fisherman struggling to catch a mermaid. Cool visit.
One of the best parks in Berlin. You could get a good view of the entire city from this park. The climb is not at all steep and its much worth the climb. The park also has small ponds and few caged animals like rabbits and goats. One of the main attraction here is the waterfall. But unfortunately when I went there 2 weeks back there was no water at all.
I just discovered this park recently when I got to know that there are waterfalls in there!!! I didnt believe it first. Waterfalls in the middle of Berlin, no way! But I was wrong there is indeed a waterfall in the park and there is a nice little history to it. Long time ago one of the Kings in Berlin went on vacation to the mountains on the border between Poland and Czech republic. There he saw a waterfall and he really liked it and he got a replica of the waterfalls done in this park and named the park in honour of his wife Viktoria. So yeah, it is a man made waterfall and it has been thoroughly done. The fall looks so original that you cannot tell it from a natural one. Even the placement of the rocks is really good.It is a nice place to chill with friends. Be there around sunset as it is one the best sunsets you can see in Berlin. I personally like these two things, waterfalls and sunsets. So this is a perfect place for someone like me to go and relax.
Wow, this place is so beautiful! Theres lots of stairs to climb if you want to have a good view of the park and the street below! Sit on the stairs or lay on the grass and admire the beautiful scenery. There is also a waterfall that wasnt running while I was there, but that didnt stop me from climbing over the rocks to take pictures from the view point!
A very nice park! I did miss this time the working period of the waterfalls, but still the view of the city was very nice! The look on the street from a height was stunning. And with a nice weather its a fine place to see the sunset. There was quite a bit of people anjoying their time with beer and a bit of cigarettes which might not be suitable to all. The cleanness of the park is also questionable especially near the liberation wars monument. But overall worth the trip!
