The fort was quite nice and peacefull, no litter anywhere, and all the artifacts are maintained in a manner, you can explore many parts of fort inside and it just looks like so forbidden by its time.

Nice place nd architectureNeed to be restored....
Nice 👍 place our Indian history
Vijayraghavgarh tehsil and a small town comes under katni district of Madhya Pradesh. The construction of this fort had begun in 1826. It’s a great lesson for architecture students they must definitely see as to how the fortress is protected with a deep river ,on two sides, now no water flows in it though, and by mountains on one side.The-walls and ceiling of rang mahal are adorned with carvings are still beautiful and the colour is still bright. There is a temple of Raghavji inside. An yearly mela is also organised in which people come from nearby villages. Bhandara is offered and lot of rush is seen. People come to see it as picnic spot but there is no guide available to explain this glorious history of the fort to the new generation.People also litter around plastics and write non walls.A historic monument, must visit and the local people must come forward to keep it clean and visit worthy

Its a very old and historic fort, somehow surviving the neglect and apathy of the administration, as much as possible.

Very nice fort
Nice place to visit in winter
Nice Historical place to visit nearby Katni M.p
Excellent and very nostalgic for me first time I visited this place in my childhood in 1978 it was built by raja Prayagdas in1826 his descendent Saryu prasad played a vital role in 1857 revolt against Britishers therefore britishers attacked this fort and captured Saryu prasad and they were sending him to kalapani for punishment but during transit he committed suicide in Varanasi by gunshot.
This fort is very beautiful and amazing, l made a video of it and will soon upload in my youtube channel "Avdhesh Vlogs"
Good place to Visit. Condition of the fort is not very good but I can say it is reasonably maintained. There were not many Visitors. Probably because it was not weekend. Some local visitors only. The place is quite and peaceful.
It is a very beautiful fort. I have never seen something like this. It is unique in so many manners. Its main gate is kind of hidden so it is very confusing for enemies to enter. Also it has a secret tunnel inside it. There is evidence of Gunshot inside fort which happened at the time of 1857 British attack. This is probably one of the hidden treasures of MP. The fort takes you back to 19th century and gives you a journey to 1857 fight. Must visit with kids
What a beauty it was 😍😍, it just need some maintenance and cure guys please!
Fort is a proof of 1857 revolt. Not much crowded place.Inside the fort is temple of Baba.Very few people come at this place localPeople
Vijayraghavgarh Fort is a historical place . Must vist if you are a localite .This fort is named after a god VIJAYRAGHAV. The town in which this fort is situated is called VIJAYRAGHAVGARH.
Most beautiful places,👌👌👌😘
The rectangular shaped land fort is having good fortification and bastions. This fort built in 1826. was constructed by the son of Maihar king Bisan Singh, Thakur Prayag Das. The fort is made up to sandstone and is surrounded by a deep trench like the Red Fort of Delhi. It was dedicated to Lord Vijayraghav. The fort has many places of interest; some of them are Rang mahal, Bramha chabutra, Sita temple, Samadhi sthal, Gupt dwar Rani ki Rasoi, Antah puram etc. The fort was the victim of the famous revolt of 1857 when it was attacked by the British. In the attack some parts of this royal asset were damaged.
There is a very good place for photoshoot and the fort is still kept safe here, the court carving here is attractive.
its good not bad
Fort is nice but in dire need of maintenance. People have scribbled all throughout its walls. It aint too big and it doesnt take more then 1-2 hour to explore it fully.
Raja Sahu prasad was punished by Britishers. Renovation is required to save the historical fort.
Half of fort is open to public. Built around 1800s by Prince of maihar this fort was center of 1857revolt in Bundelkhand region. Boundaries replicates Redford of delhi with water canals around it. Nice artworks on walls of rangmahal can be seen. British impregnated it after revolt with help of satna king. Huge banayan tree inside fort premice is present.
It is 150 years old Fort. Now became a history place. Half part is closed to Visitors. Overall you will enjoy. It takes 1/2-1 hour to go all around.35 kms from katni Junction.
The best place to have small picnic. To have fun with friends and family good choice. It is best place for photoshoot. It doesnt have restrooms as it is historic place. It is very old place due to which some parts are damaged but beautiful with wall art done 😊.
One of the historic place located in Katni.Vijayraghavgarh Fort has a historic fort built in 1826. One can visit the fort while traveling from Bandhavgarh (92 kmto Khajuraho via Satna. Vijayraghavgarh Fort is a very old fort and has a great internal architecture & design. It has a great historical significance also, but itrequires a lot of maintenance as it seems to have been ignored over the ages.In front of the fort, there is a croweded town of Vijayraghavgarh and on other sides there is lush green jungle. In front of the fort there is a small temple having bright white marble Shivling behind which is located another beautiful Shiva temple.
Historical fort, the view over the fort is really great.I had a good experience to go and visit there.Almost half of the fort still is sunk in the ground and no lightings are available on the part below which is closed but But the experience of seeing this from every side to roam this place was really memorable
Great place to see our history...
Its good to visit but nothing much to see there..
It would be a good place if locals have taken care of the fort. People had wrote there name and created symbols on the walls. Govt is renovating the fort which is good thing.Main thing to see is enormous tree having idols of Gods on its roots.
I went to this place in April 2018 it was very hot there. It is around 40 kms away from the town of Katni. The best time to visit this place is the time of new year when a fair is held there. The time of Dussehra is also suitable. It consists of a temple also dedicated to Maa Sharda and also has temple where an lamp (akhand jyotiis there which has not been extinguished since hundreds of years. The fort has been under the protection of ASI.
A great historical place to know about our history.
NIce historical place to visit. many stone pillars and the carvings on them may be as old as around 1000 years. May be the ruins of some ancient temple or structure have been utilized in the construction of this 250 years old fort.
