A dual menu of Thai & Vietnamese specialties plus a weekday lunch buffet are offered in casual digs.
This was always my go-to Vietnamese restaurant in Lowell. The service here is usually pretty good and the wait staff are very friendly. Yesterday I ordered a bunch of food and 1 of them was pho special. My husband went to pick it up and brought it home for me to eat (because I was sick). After finishing half of the noodle soup, I noticed something floating in it. I looked closer and noticed it was a tiny cockroach 🪳 floating in there. Aaargh, IT WAS DEFINITELY DISGUSTING!This is not the 1st time I saw cockroach there. I saw it crawling in the buffet table before the pandemic. I mentioned it to the waitstaff and thought they took care of it...I guess they didnt.FYI: My house does not have cockroaches or any bugs
Fresh, clean, delicious--the food here is outstanding. No heavy sauces or fried shortcuts--the noodle dishes are light and tasty. The pho is savory and satisfying. The best part is that everything comes to the table straight from coming off the line in the kitchen--hot and perfect. Folks who like to have stuff left under heat lamps while the rest of the table gets theirs completed will be disappointed. Folks who like fresh food hot from the kitchen are going to love it. And you can feed an army for less than most spots charge for dinner for two. No frills or pretension here. Family style meals done right.
Best Pho in Lowell. I have tried all Pho in Lowell and in most cities surrounding Lowell, and this place has the most delicious PHO. Their big bowl is so huge that can serve two people. Their red beef is so tender as well as their other types of meat for Pho Dac Biet. Their meat ball is also yummy. The best of all is the soup flavor. They also have jalapeños pickles, chili oil, hoisin sauce and veggies for the sides. Their calamari is also delicious.
I don’t know if you guys had this issues before but I went to restaurant yesterday (Sundayand there was an old lady worked there. The restaurant was so busy, I could understand, I asked her to get me some utensils but then she ignored it and asked another staffs to get it, she just stood there and looked around. I noticed her the most and the annoying thing was she stood there and asked why the customers didn’t give her tips, I don’t know if she is a boss or not but the way she looks, it does not. That is so unprofessional! But other staffs were nice tho
Excellent, fast and to my request. Portion size very good for the price. Yellow curry had just the right amount of heat.My server was very polite and helpful/patient with my questions.Definitely will recommend and be back.
Pho and pad thai were pretty good. Service here is pretty fast and our food came like 5 mins after we ordered. Waiters were running around even though the place was semi busy, but they are very kind and attentive.
We were in the area visiting the college (about a 12 minute walk from admissions buildingand had an early lunch. Very quick service and was very good. Most dishes were $11 to $14 so a really good value. Worth the walk over.
Food was good and quickly arrived. Server was busy but still polite.Note they do not have lunch menu or lunch buffet any longer. But serving size seem to have gotten smaller. Also, they charge extra for use of Credit Card.Hope they also bring soy nuggets under vegetarian options.
Always late whenever i order take out which seems didnt pay respect to customers. It had happened to me for 3 times.
Fried chicken wings are the best fried chicken wings I’ve ever had.All other dishes like beef noodle, flat noodle, red curry with chicken, etc are excellent. The only part I don’t like is serving. There were multiple times they totally forgot one of our orders, gave us wrong orders, brought appetizer way after main dishes served, etc.I’m not sure this is the result of language barrier issue, but I have to say I’m little nervous whenever I go there because what’s going to happen with my orders.Even with this problem, I will be still going this little gem because the food are genuinely good.
Best value for money fried chicken around! Definitely the crispiest! Love this place
Almost always consistently good quality pho. Good prices. street parking only.
Absolutely Delicious! I am not one to venture off the American Cuisine, I ordered some food tonight and some egg rolls on the side, and I’m stuffed…. So good. The sauce is so good!
I recommend their Bun Bo Hue. We went there with another couple. All four of us agreed that it is one of the best Bun Bo Hue we have. Their pad thai is also good, the right tanginess, the right moisture, not soggy and no ketchup coloring it. The only comment is to have a little more egg and some slices of tofu.
My go to pho restaurant. I have been going for years. Service, food, and prices are all excellent! Make sure to stop by next time youre in downtown Lowell.
Pho was the best Ive had the vermicelli noodles were not so good only appetizer id recommend is the spring rolls. basically if you want good pho come here not worth ordering anything else. portions are generous and price is fair.
Food Ive had here is pretty good but the service needs more improvement - though the staff are generally friendly, they are slow to serve, such as requests for checks, extra sauces or utensils...Edit: upon entering, I was hesitant because of a weird bathroom smell wafting in throughout the restaurant and lack on AC in a hot humid day. However, the noodles were still tasty and delicious. They also were good at making sure our orders were correct despite our modifications to the dish, which was greatly appreciated!
I always have the beef noodle soup and its awesome, everytime. Quantity is appreciable. You wont have enough space left if you try the large bowl of soup noodle for just $13.Highly recommend.
Delicious food, generous portions, and friendly service! This is a great place to grab a quick lunch or have a sit down dinner. The menu has authentic, homemade options for everyone.
I’ve been to two other pho spots in lowell and this is, by far, my favorite. The broth was flavorful, the noodles were perfectly cooked and it was a heart serving of beef. Their house chili oil definitely packs a big punch so be careful if you’re heavy handed (i learned the hard way). This has definitely become my go-to pho spot.
This was a pleasant surprise. We were planning to have lunch at another Thai restaurant, but when we arrived it was closed. We walked by this restaurant and decided to try it. We’re happy that we stopped in! I had stirfried vegetables and noodles with tofu. It came with a mild spice. There’s a few chili sauces on the table if you’d like to add spice to your dish. The quality and quantity was great. Don’t expect the restaurant to have any sort of decor. This is a basic eating establishment with a great staff. I hope to return again when I’m in the area.
Best papaya salad in the city! Side it w/ their fried chicken wings.Dined in for the first time in forever. Food came out fast and great waiters. Especially the older khmer woman there. Shes super sweet. No disappointments at all. I just wished that the buffet was still opened daily
Ordered number 45. Soup was amazing and the mango smoothie was so good I ordered a second. I didn’t specify that I wanted to eat in the restaurant so when they gave me my order to go I asked to sit and eat he was very accommodating and served my meal with all the utensils and was just extremely polite and made me feel good. There are always lots of people coming in and eating at this restaurant. It is a pleasant and clean place to sit and eat. I very rarely write reviews for businesses however Viet-Thai is an exception because I had a great experience there.
Awesome food. Got some stir fry and asked for it to be extra spicy, best stir fry ever. And I got the general gau chicken for my wife and she had no complaints. Fried calamari is interesting glad I gave it a try, I will be back!
If you like ordering some food for a bang for you buck definitely hit up this place. They got a lunch time buffet as well. This place it fairly cheap compared to the other restaurants in the area. If you got parties. Definitely ask for the catering menu its a good deal i swear on it. Decent food. Fried chicken, sticky rice. Hot Dayum get your some munchin.
Always so kind and I can never get enough of thier delicious food. Everything from here I would recommend and everytime I go its always just as good as the last 😌
Loved it!... On the spot Viet-Thai you can see and taste the freshness of the ingredients in the dish, also liked the fact that they dont over indulge on 200 options on the menu, its a good size, just enough to know and taste every dish is made to order 👌
amazing place! the food was great, i got spring rolls and a bowl of pho, one of the best ive had! the service was amazing too, all of the employees were very nice and the place was super clean. i loved it there :will definitely be going back
I dont know about the vietnamese food, but the Thai was not good. I had the yellow seafood curry and there were 2 small rubbery prices of fish, 2 small shrimps and 3 squids and imitation crab. The dish was filled with what Im sure is canned bamboo shoots.Ambience was awful. Quiet and depressing. You can only hear the squeezing kitchen doors.I usually have great experiences when I try ethnic restaurants in Lowell. Not this time.
Absolutely delicious beef ball soup and spring rolls. Highly recommend checking this place out! Very friendly restaurant, and the bukbukgu is the best !!
Having this for lunch was an amazing experience. I enjoyed the service as well as the food that was served. We asked for the physical menu and they happily supplied them. Quite a positive place indeed.
The food is 5 stars and I love everything I order. One time it was pretty bad but given how many years I’ve been coming here I’ll chop it up to a fluke. They lose a star bc no matter who I go with, dine in or take out, the service is always sub par. They’re so unorganized. They need to stop answering the phone and just take care of the take out etc. or get a person strictly for that.
We got take out. It is a small storefront restaurant with a family serving the food. The chicken Pho was delicious, the spring rolls were very large but just ok and the soft noodle dish was good. The restaurant was very clean.
It likely has the best Vietnamese food Lowell has to offer, apart from homemade.Pho, grilled pork chops, etc.Best plain chicken wings.Surprisingly very good chow foon/radna/meekathung.Parking can be tough due to on-street availability.
No frills place confused me as the local food ratings were off the charts. That is until I ate the food! One warning: Prepare to doggy bag as the portions are LARGE. Another warning: food is so good may be tempted to eat in one sitting! I learned from the locals, do take out! Easier to collapse in your own living room, very satisfied!
I was in a party of 5. They forgot my order, and when I finally got it the order was pretty botched up. On my way out I heard multiple people complaining to waiters that their orders were messed up, too. The place seems pretty disorganized. I had to get up and go to the front to pay, because the staff isnt very attentive. The food itself was pretty decent.
I’ve been coming here for years and have never left unsatisfied with the quality of the food. They have amazing traditional Vietnamese and Thai dishes. One of my favorites is the Bun Bo Hue 😍 It is one of the most delicious soups I’ve ever had and loaded with flavor & spice. Here’s a Pro Tip: If it’s your first time here, all you have to do is find an empty table to sit at and someone will come over with a menu and take your order. Once you’ve finished your food, you go up to the counter and ask for your bill. If you wait around for someone to come by, it may take awhile because they are usually VERY busy. They will never rush you out of here, so it’s a great place to catch up with a friend!
I hadnt been here in quite a long time but it didnt disappoint. Buffet food was plentiful and delicious, including the hot and sour soup. The only thing I thought was different was that they used to have desserts, too? There was some pineapple chunks which was nice. So we got fruit smoothies for dessert which were really great. Nice, friendly people, great service, too and very clean.
Food is excellent here! Great pho! Buffet is a steal at their prices! Waiters/waitresses are not like other sit down restaurants. After youre done eating, you basically have to go up the desk and pay there. Leave tip at table though.
Very good pho. It’s rare to have beef balls included in the beef noodle soup. Flavors were all there. Service was great, unfortunately only one person really English. The only other con is the Luke warm soup. It really could’ve been hotter.
Pho was great service lacks place is clean food was really good i just got pho ive never tried the other dishes as the waitress wasnt much help explaining what was on the menu but overall a pleasant expirience
One of the best Pho (Very clear stock, quality meat, and doesnt not have strong beef smell like other phoin Lowell. Decent price. Most other food (fried squid, bang hoi, pad thai with duckare also really good. If you want something a little exotic, try Durin Smoothie.
I was alone and wanted to try something different. The place was great. Friendly service from the second I came in until I left. I really did not know what to order. I asked for help, and the waitress asked me a few questions and then said I would be pleased with the food. I had fresh spring rolls and peanut sauce, something that was like Basil Pad Thai and the greatest Ice tea. I finished everything. I will be back real soon
Good pho.GREAT CHICKEN WINGS ,SPRING ROLL,.Very good service very polite food came out quickly..good drunken chicken.. recommend if you want to have your pho fix..Im a addict to pho
Food was soooooo good . ive been to a lot of thai/viet restaurants and this one just became my favorite. I spent half of what i expected to. Very clean place good server. And good food . soup was awesome. Will be coming once a week. Very affortable.
Viet-Thai is a prime place when I am craving pho. The soup (in the phowas very flavorful and the condiments offered were perfect. It helps people decide if they want a little bit more flavor or spiciness. The employees were always filled my water when empty and they were very attentive ( since I was the only one at the restaurant). Overall a great place. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Went today Friday for lunch buffet, good service, not many selections but what was there was tasty, even the water was good, plenty of paid street parking, just bring some quarters with you
The food here was great. We had prompt service, fantastic delivery of the food. I would definitely come here again. There is only pay by space street parking outside. It is located in a great area, right across the street from the town hall and library. I would definitely recommend the appetizer, especially the "shrimp pocket" which was shrimp wrapped in a wonton wrapper
Absolutely delicious! I ordered chicken wings with steamed rice. The wings (tip and drumare crispy and flavorful. My family ordered pork, fried rice, and noodles, and they were all pleased. The staff was very friendly. I enjoyed eating there!
You cant be the lunch buffet here. $7.95 for all you can eat very authentic Viet Thai cuisine. I love the crispy chicken wings and the fresh Spring rolls with peanut sauce
